At first, I would be happy that it snowed again. All the fillies like me would be head-over-hooves that we went to school late again. Some fillies would be screaming like a foal that school had just gotten canceled. They would get their jackets on, and make a mad dash for the door and run into the snow. Sure, I liked the snow, playing in the powder and watching the flakes, but as Winter seemed to drag on, Winter's amazing luster was starting to fade away.
Back to the snow outside. Over the course of this Winter, almost two whole feet of snow fell from the sky. It seems like the first snowfall is so exciting, you could blow up: while the next feels so drab and plain. Along with the bitter-cold winds and the blowing snow, Winter can get pretty old quick.
I got up from the couch I was sitting on, and went into the kitchen. Tia was making some cinnamon-honey toast for us, as she usually did during the weekend. With nothing else to do, I went back to the couch, watching the snow fall with a straight face.
'This is so boring,' I thought as I watched a snowflake join the other snowflakes on the ground. 'I wish I could make Winter go away...'
Suddenly, it hit me. Why just sit and watch the Winter snow when you could try and make Spring come? I jumped down from the couch and started brainstorming on how to make Winter go away. I ran to my room, got my whiteboard and dry-erase markers and ran back to the couch. With the marker in my sapphire blue glow, I started to write my ideas down on the board.
My first plan: picking up all the snow and putting it somewhere else. I wrapped my favorite blue scarf around my neck, and trotted outside where the snow was. I lit my horn up, and picked up enough snow to make a snowball. Unsatisfied, I picked up more and more snow. Soon, I was feel exhausted from using lots of magic, so my only choice was to throw it far away. I turned my body, and threw my head where I wanted the snow to go. Unfortunately, the mass of snow landed on my hooves, and that ended plan one.
Inside, I crossed a line through the failed plan, and then my eyes darted to the next one. I was moving on to my second plan: make a snowball and roll the snow away.
I ran outside again, and looked at the crisp sheet of snow. I used my magic to make a snowball, then used my hooves to roll it around the field. All the rolling I was doing was making me thirsty, so I left the field to get a glass of water. After chugging half the water down, I ran outside once again, only to find out my snowball was currently being used for a filly's snowpony. That ended my second plan.
The squeak of the marker through words was heard throughout the room, and that gave me less options. I could smell the savory scent of the cinnamon-honey toast, as I imagined the warm, gooey bread in my mouth. My dream left me as I set eyes on the window, and the clouds above. I looked over my list of ideas, and went to plan three: yelling at the snow.
I stood up on the couch, and glared at the snow. I squinted my eyes, cleared my throat, and prepared to yell.
"Go away snow!"
Nothing.
"I said go away!!"
The snow didn't even stir.
"GO AWAY!!!"
The only thing that noticed was Tia. She poked her head into the grand room and went back into the kitchen.
"STOP SNOWING! I WANT SPRING! GO AWAY NOW!!!"
Still nothing.
With my throat feeling a dull pain, I sat down and drank the rest of my water in silence. I looked out the window, and saw the snowflakes still drifting down to the ground. With a scowl on my face, I crossed off another plan. I jumped off the couch and went into the kitchen, where Tia was putting the toast on plates. I scrambled up to my chair, and sat down to eat the toast.
"So, Luna, I heard you're angry at the snow," Tia started to say. "But why are you mad at it?"
I huffed. "I want Spring! It's too cold outside, there's too much snow, and already six days of school have to be made up!"
"So, you're trying to see if the snow will go away by yelling at it?"
"Yes!" I exclaimed while throwing my hooves into the air.
Tia laughed. "Okay, good luck on finding Spring." Tia walked out of the kitchen, with a feather duster in her magic glow. I followed her to the grand room, where my list of ideas sat. I picked it up and read through it. There was only one plan left: become Tia and use the sun to melt the snow.
I burst out of the door, wearing Tia's crown, necklace, and shoes I found in a closet. I stepped on our from steps, and glared at the clouds. I raised my hooves off the ground, and pointed them at the clouds. Then, I spoke my 'Magic Tia words.'
"Go away Winter! I want Spring plea-" I was interrupted by one of Tia's big shoes falling off my hoof and landing on the cold cement ground with a 'clonk', but I kept my hooves pointed towards the sky.
"I need Spring! I don't want the cold anymore! Part away clouds, let the snow melt, and the pretty roses in from of the castle bloom!"
It kept snowing. Angry, I stomped inside, crossed off the last plan, and with a huff, sat down with my hooves crossed. Tia was probably watching me, as she sat down next to me and started to talk.
"So, no Spring yet Luna?"
I groaned. "I want Spring! I don't want Winter anymore! Why doesn't Spring want to come?!"
Tia spread her wings any wrapped me around one. "Spring will come, Luna. Just give it some time, and it'll be here before you know it."
I uncrossed my hooves, and looked up at Tia. "Promise, Tia?"
Tia smiled. "Of course, Luna. I promise. Now how about we make something yummy?"
I smiled. "Yay! I love yummy stuff!" I hopped down from the couch and ran to the kitchen, watching the now gentle snow fall from the clouds.
The snow was gentle, soft, and light. From my window in the kitchen, I could see a beam of sunlight from a small part in the clouds hitting a castle wall. Once the snow was melted away, a single flower's bud rose out, and a robin flying in the sky could be seen. I smiled at Tia, and she smiled back.
Maybe Spring wasn't too far away after all.
