---Day before the Fortune City Outbreak---

“And then he said “No! That’s not what peanut butter’s for!”.” said Pinkie Pie.

The customers gave Pinkie Pie a look of confusion before taking the coffee and boxes of cake to the food court tables apathetically. It was another reminder that Pinkie’s days of making people laugh was fading away. That reminder burned so bad.

“I should just jam a knife through their throats…” thought Pinkie Pie.

No, no… She would go to jail… And that would be wrong, too…

Maybe it was mostly stress that was making her feel this way. That game show, Terror is Reality, attracted so many tourists, making everyone in Fortune City have to work so hard. Plus, so many zombies all in one place just seems so dangerous. It’s more evidence that people are into weird things. The world today is just so complicated and frustrating.

She isn’t the only one who’s down by this. She can see it in others.

Pinkie longed for the days when she could throw a small party with her family, but rough times hit her like how they hit everyone else and then she had to get a job at the Cheesecake Mania in Fortune City, working long hours, six days a week.

She just felt so tired – Tired of going on each day knowing that everything was not alright, that it seemed like there was never going to be a better tomorrow.

She missed those parties that she threw… She'd make some baked goods, play some music, invite some friends… No matter what kind of trouble was going on, her and her family going through, they felt good when she threw one of her parties.

Pinkie Pie sighed and looked at the couple eating. They seem somewhat happy, so she felt happy for them.

She'd love to just let it all out to some one, but getting with her friends is too hard with her busy schedule and all.. She decided that she'd just go home and bury her feelings with sugar again.

---Day 1 of the Outbreak---

People ran to where they could – Some running for some sort of escape, others for supplies, others for a place to take shelter. Pinkie Pie, scared, stayed at the Cheesecake Mania, thousands of zombies between where she worked and the parking lot where her car was. She was stuck with three other women who stayed huddled in the corner. It was clear that all three of them were scared.

Pinkie thought that it was for the best of them that she do what she knew best. She turned on some low music, put some confetti on the counter, and served everyone a slice of cake.

"What the hell are you doing?!" asked a woman.

"I- I- thought this'd make everyone feel better…"

"It's not helping! You're crazy!"

"…What?…"

"You are crazy! You think you can just throw a party and everything will be alright? It's not gonna-"

The woman stopped when she and a knife in her chest. She slowly dropped to the floor.

Pinkie Pie looked at what she had done with surprise. She actually stabbed someone. It felt like it… just happened. It felt like it happened so fast… It felt good. It felt like her problems faded away with the bleeding woman on the floor. It felt not quite as good as a party, though. She felt like she could do it again, and again, and again, and again.

Pinkie Pie pulled the knife back out and saw that the other two women were absolutely stunned by what she had just done.

"It's okay." Pinkie Pie assured them, wiping the knife on her pants. "We're just going to have a little party… and then everything's going to be okay."

She motioned for them to sit down at the table next to them. She then moved the body behind the counter. She didn't want to ruin the festive atmosphere after all. She had originally considered throwing out the body with the zombies - they'd clean it up real nice - then all of a sudden, she got curious. She just then thought that people must taste real good if they walk by all of the food around them and she would never get another chance like this to find out for herself, so she cut herself a piece, and slowly, she slipped it into her mouth.

Instantly, she fell in love. It wasn't such an amazing taste alone, but it had potential. Maybe if she cooked it… Inspiration hit her. She could mix it in with the batter. That would just be the best thing. It'd be like chicken pot pie. She could make it into a cake and it'd be like coconut cake and she could share it with her friends in the store with her. No, wait. Cupcakes are always easier to serve. Well she already had a knife in her hand, so she started mixing up some batter and "spiced up" her some frosting giving it a pinkish, mushy look.

"Don't worry!" Pinkie Pie called out. "We're going to have so much fun!"

"No, no, no…" The women stammered huddled against the wall, tears running down their hot-reed faces.

---Day 2 of the Outbreak---

Frank's earpiece rang. He answered the call.

"Frank," said Stacey. "There seems to be a party going on in the Cheesecake Mania. I think I see a couple of survivors in there."

"I'll check it out." Frank replied into his earpiece.

Frank arrived later at the little store. Right away, he could feel it in his gut that something wasn't right.

There was some birthday decorations up, some upbeat music playing from the radio by the cash register and an ample amount of cupcakes on the display counter. They had some chunks of some kind sticking out and the frosting seemed… bloody. It put another bad feeling in Frank's stomach just looking at it.

"Surprise!" cheered a woman who seemed to pop out of nowhere in front of Frank. She wore all pink with some splatters of red and flour stains. "You're just in time for Janice's birthday party!"

"Janice?"

Frank looked over to his left. There was a small table where two dead women sat, with several holes in their chest and wearing party had.

"She's really starting to cheer up in light of this whole zombie thing."

"Uh, huh…" Frank replied.

"Hey! You look a little stressed out! You should stay here with us."

"Yeah… I'll take a rain check on that."

Pinkie Pie's eye twitched, but her smile stayed.

"You… don't want to party with us?… What?!" Her sudden rising anger made Frank take a step back. "Is it because you think I'm crazy for throwing a party?"

"Well, if you say so…"

Pinkie Pie grabbed her red-stained knife from the counter.

"But, this going to be so much fun…" she said. "I promise. You can help me make some more cupcakes."
