This is the story of berry punch she wasn't always an alcoholic, she was once a bright young beautiful Mare with so much potential

As berry was coming home from her day at the market she stopped and bought a hat for her husband they had a fight the previous night so she wanted to surprise him with an I'm sorry gift, just as she was leaving the market she noticed the sun was going down, it was so beautiful, it made her so happy on her way home she sang a happy tune as she left being greeted by her friends who were all enjoying her cheerful glow ,reaching her small house with a little mail box in front, hopping on each stepping stone to her front door she put on her biggest smile. when she walked into her home she dropped the hat out of her mouth instantly a chill ran down her back her smile looked as if she had not been happy all day. walking through the house it was cold and dark, something was definitely wrong, she noticed blood and broken furniture through out the house, she ran upstairs to check on her baby she was asleep in her crib, berry let out a sigh of relief but then her eyes became much larger as she realized her husband was not in the room she raced around the house looking for him, finally reaching the kitchen. what she saw made her drop to the floor to fast. he was right in front of her sitting against the kitchen sink, blood running down his torso, he looked into her eyes raised his hoof to touch her face she held it against her cheek he  smiled from the corner of his mind adjusting his back grunting and said , "I love you , I love you so much... I just wish i could be here to see her grow up. we were supposed to grow old together, keep her safe for me and don't think for a minute that you aren't special. you are the second best thing that ever happened to me " he coughed up blood and continued "the first is our beautiful daughter I miss you already honey" he smiled and closed his eyes a tear running down his cheek, and exhaled, berry let out a loud cry tears streaming down her face "Whyhihihihiiiiiiiii" she layed there next to her husband  "Don't go..... please... " an hour passed she had fallen asleep, she was awoken by the baby crying, she looked up and saw a police stallion who helped her up, she couldn't believe what had happened, he explained there had been a robbery and the robber had gotten away. he took his hat off "I'm so sorry for your loss, shall we get in touch with the funeral service for you ma'am?" "yes" berry said, two days later on a rainy day ponies came to the funeral each one expressing their deepest sympothy for her "we are gathered here today to say goodbye to a great stallion who was well known in the community he will always be remembered as-" "Whaaaaaaaaaa" the baby cried out "sorry I'm so sorry" berry said quietly the speech continued, ponies came and went again saying how sorry they were for this to happen, she had cheerilee take the baby home to babysit, when the two unicorns started to throw the first shovel full of dirt on the casket berry burst out in tears , they covered the grave she looked up and saw a brown stallion by a tree watching. she layed at her husbands grave for three days without eating or drinking, ponies in town began talking about her spreading rumors, cheerilee came by every day to try getting her to eat, and would sit with her for a few minutes and talk trying to cheer her best friend up but to no avail in the afternoon on the fourth day as the sun was setting a brown stallion with an hour glass on his flank walked up to her and sat behind her he sat for a while she didn't even look at him but she knew he was there, "Sometimes we love ponies so much that we have to be numb to it. Because if we actually felt how much we love them, it would kill us. That doesn’t make you a bad pony. It just means your heart’s too big. Sometimes I think Time just gets away from us." berry looked up at the wide eyed stallion, she just stared at him it was the first time she had moved her eyes from that grave, he smiled and set a rose down in front of the tomb stone, and walked away three months passed, berry had begun functioning again, but at the price of becoming an alcoholic she seemed happy but that day had taken a huge part from her, ponies snickered when she walked by but when she would look at them they would smile and ask her how she was doing, a murderer had taken her husband, Pony services had taken her baby a few months later, and all she could think of was that stallion who said such kind words to her, she never met him again and they never found the murderer, cheerilee tried to get her to go to meetings about her drinking but even they couldn't help her every now and then she is just sober enough to have a real conversation she never mentioned that stallion not even to her best friend, she did give her the hat she had bought though berry didn't have a use for it, it just made her remember the pain.  sometimes time really does get away from us... and if you look hard enough you might just find him, watching, just waiting.
