The armor-clad man stood panting, having exhausted himself during the fight with Lord Gwyn, he relaxed rubbing his shoulder and smiles walking over to the bonfire. He looked around not being able to believe that his job was done, he thought back on his journey and the friends he met on it and the ones he lost as well. Slowly, he reached his hand into the bonfire and found himself surprised that it didn't burn, but it gave a warmth even as the fire overtook his body, wrapping him in its blaze. Also feeling a sense of peace from it as if it was inviting him to rest. He sat down and allowed his exhaustion to take him lulling him to sleep… He awoke, slowly sitting up and looked around finding himself in the middle of a heavily wooded forest. He glanced around himself for his sword and shield and stood up picking his Grave Lord sword and Grass Crest shield back off the ground. Looking around expecting an ambush, he slowly walked but found himself looking around quite-a-bit at the forest feeling as if he was being watched by something that stayed just out of sight. This forest felt much like the Dark Root Garden but something felt different, more serene but still familiar in the sense that it felt as if the trees were trying to suffocate you and make you forget your way. However, this was a gentler thing, it only lightly pulled you. Not by blade or tooth that it made you forget, but it was different in the way that it didn't make you forget people, just your way. As if trying to keep you for itself. He then heard a loud scream off in the distance and ran toward the sound thinking that if there is screaming then there must be people that are frightened, or just not strong enough to hold their own against something. The screaming lead him to a large opening near a waterfall. In the opening, he saw a large creature standing before six women. As it raised its claw he pulled out a talisman that he has gotten from a member of the Way of White he had come across in his travels. He called to mind a miracle of lightning and threw the lightning bolt at the large beast, making it flinch before turning to look at him. The six women turned to see what the beast before them was now staring at. With anger in its eyes, it roared as it had been disturbed from its dinner. The man looked on at the beast trying to think of a good strategy to use on it. Figuring it would be a good idea to fight it like it was a large dog, he put his talisman back in his pocket and readied his sword, and raised his shield up to block the large paw that was being swung by the beast. The impact of the paw strike made him slide back and surprised him with its strength, but he was ready to fight back. The armor-clad man swung his sword at the beasts face cutting its ear, making it roar from the pain. Jumping back to put some distance between him and the large beast, giving him time to analyze it. He looked it over as it prepared to charge at him, he noticed that the beast looked much like a manticore but with bat wings. He rolled as the scorpion tail made a stabbing motion at him. The women looked on surprised at the sight before them a strange creature was taking on a huge beast. Lost in a trance of confusion and curiosity, they still watched the fight despite how scared they were. The beast charged at the man and rose up to slam its full weight upon him. The man ducked down and stabbed up into the beast’s stomach and then pushed it off the blade onto the ground. He looked over at the women. “Are you ladies ok?” he asked while panting, and walked over to them taking off his stone helmet to reveal his face. The women gulped and before long one of them answered “yes w-we are fine,” a woman with purple fur on her face answered. The furless man smiled at them, his gentle smile making them relax. “S-so who are you?” the women looked on, noting his armor. “Oh, my name is Drake and I guess you can say that I’m an adventurer,” he answered, looking at them noting that they were not human. “What are you girls anyway? I have never seen people like you before,” he asked as he put his sword in the holster on the back of his armor. “We're ponies... What are you and what’s with your armor? I have never seen an armor or a helmet like that?” she asked calmly after answering his question. “Well my armor was made for a paladin of the way of white but I got it off his dead body in the tomb of Neto as for the helmet it’s made of stone and is very old hence the moss on it, as for what I am I’m a human.” He stated and looked at them. “Ewe why would you wear something so old and dirty that you got from a dead body in a tomb darling?” A white-furred woman asked from next to the purple one. “Well, it provided better protection against fire, lightning, blades, and magic than my last set of armor so that’s why and besides I cleaned it first.” He looked at them and shrugged giving his answer “oh and who are all of your sense I didn't get any names from you ladies”. “Oh my name is Twilight.” she gestured toward herself. “This is Rarity.” She gestured toward the white-furred woman who gave a light bow that the man returned with a proper bow. “This is Pinkie” a pink pony smiled and hopped lightly in place before the man. “Then there is Rainbow Dash and Applejack” she pointed at a cyan and an orange-furred woman who were standing as if ready to fight the man. “And finally flutter shy” Twilight pointed at a woman that coward behind her that was yellow in color. “It’s a pleasure to meet all of you and I’m sorry you had to see that” he looked back at the downed beast “we should leave now the smell of a fresh kill may attract predators to this spot but first on the off chance that any of you know if this creature has a poison gland and if so where is it”. “Fluttershy do you know?” Twilight asked looking at her friend that shook lightly behind her. “Y-yes I do it’s in the bulb at the end of the tail.” she squeaked out and hide behind her friend further. The man walked over to the dead manticore pulling out a dagger and cut the end of the tail off, he then put the tail into his bottomless box for safe keeping and also cut off its wings after taking a small glance over at the women that he had just saved “well they are cute and you never know.” He stated to himself as he put the wings into the box as well. The girls watched him well talking to each other “Twilight what should we do he killed that manticore what if he tries something on us we can’t fight him off. He managed to take on that thing and didn't get a scratch on it.” Applejack stated concerned over what drake might try. “Applejack why would he save us if he wanted to hurt us plus we may need his help if something else comes along and tries to attack us like another manticore beside I’ll send a message to Celestia about him ones were back in Ponyville ok tell then we can keep an eye on him” Twilight said trying to calm Applejack's nerves. “Well fine but I’m not letting my guard down let's go.” Applejack turned and started walking back toward town just as Drake came back to them. Drake looked at her and then followed the girls feeling that it would be best that he do so but feeling a cold chill from Applejack. “Is everyone really ok? I have a healing Pyromancy spell if you need Miss Applejack.” He stated worriedly over her health “Wait you have a what?” Twilight looked at Drake “what’s pyromancy?” She asked confused curious as to what it was. “Pyromancy is a form of sorcery but one that deals with one’s own flame it’s the art of invoking and manipulating your flame the one in your heart each pyromancer has their own flame it makes them who they are but, as a pyromancer you must remember to fear the flame least you lose yourself and be consumed by it.” He started remembering what his friend ones said to him about pyromancy. “Hmm it sounds so strange but what you say makes it sound as if you’re talking about a cutie mark.” twilight said thinking about it. “What the heck’s a cutie mark?” Drake looked at twilight expecting an answer from her. “It’s what tells someponie's what their special talent is and it also tells you a bit about their personality don’t you have one?” Twilight asked looking back at Drake. “No I don’t humans don’t get cutie marks we choose what we want to be best at and we train our self’s for it, it is our choices that make us who we are not a symbol we bear the only marks I have on me are cuts and bruises, not a cutie mark,” Drake said walking next to twilight just a little behind her friends. “Oh ok, I’m sorry if I offended you.” Twilight sputtered out nervous that she had just hurt the man’s feeling. “Oh calm down Twilight it's fine you’re acting as if you just stabbed me in the shoulder trust me its fine ok calm down.” He gave a light laugh at her reaction to his statement. “Hey don’t laugh at me its mean, I thought I actually insulted you just now.” She pouted slugging him lightly in the arm. “I’m sorry Twilight I can’t remember the last time I laughed at anything, I’m sorry” he looked at her as they left the forest their conversation ended. "Look we should get you somewhere to rest and maybe take a shower you don't smell too good darling." Rarity said looking at the girl's new friend.
Chapter 2View OnlineEquestira's First flameChapter 2First flame Chapter 2 Drake looked around finding himself surprised at the building he was now in what looked like a library in a tree. He knew of stranger complexes and have been in them even was in a painted world but not a tree that was a library and a house all at the same time. “Wow, this is impressive what the trick to making this place was,” he asked looking at the girls that looked back at him twilight getting ready to explain but everyone looked at her. “Just don’t, I don’t really care I was just surprised to see someone made a tree into a library.” “Well… ok um, the bathroom is up and to the left.” Twilight stated pointing up the only set of stairs to the left of the room. Drake nodded and went up the stairs, entering the bathroom he looked around the room at how clean it was inside and shrugged then started to take off his armor starting with his helmet and chest plate having left his sword and shield downstairs. He stopped and looked at the door and gave a strange look at the door handle. “Your bad at spying on people who ever you are I heard your footsteps.” As soon as he said that he heard the person behind the door run away from it and went back downstairs he then toke of his leggings and got in the tube and turned the water on using the right handle feeling the water come down on his head he stepped back and looked up seeing a stream of water coming from a nozzle attached to the wall he then shrugged his shoulders and started to rub what looked like a bar of soap on his body washing off the caked on grime and dried blood. The girls looked around at each other. “Well, I’ll send a message to Princess Celestia.” Twilight walked over to her desk and started writing a letter. “Ok well, I’m going to go take a peak on him,” Rainbow said and started to walk over to the stairs. “WHAT, rainbow ya can’t be serious about that?” Applejack yelled at her friend. “What, you can’t say you’re not interested in how big his muscles are,” Rainbow said raising an eyebrow at her friend making Applejack blush before Rainbow ran upstairs then came back downstairs soon after. “Why did you come down so soon didn’t get a good view through the door,” Applejack asked looking at her friend. “No I got a look but only for a second before I was busted, he apparently heard my hoofsteps through the door so I came back,” Rainbow said looking away from her friends. “Well girls I sent my letter to Princess Celestia about our guest now she said she will be here soon.” Twilight started walking back over to her friends from her desk in the main room. “So rainbow how does he look under all that armor he was wearing?” she asked looking at Rainbowdash. “Well, he doesn’t look as strong as he seems, in fact, it seems as if his armor and weapon might be enchanted to be light to him,” Rainbow said shrugging her shoulders sounding disappointed “Or he might just be smart enough to not look the part rainbow after all don’t judge a book by its cover he may be stronger then he looks,” Twilight said smiling at her friend. “Yes, that is most certainly true my dear student.” Princess Celestia said walking into the house with her guards close behind. “Speaking of such where is he?” “Hey, Twilight thanks for letting me use your bath-… who are these people?” He asked as he looked over at his sword and shield leaning against a desk slowly inching his way closer to the desk. “Please calm down I’m here to talk I’m Princess Celestia and I’d like to talk to you if you’d please sit with me so we can talk for a moment I have some questions for you.” She smiled calmly at the strange figure that had just entered the room from upstairs. “Forgive me if I’m not the calm princess but I’d rather not have armed guards with swords and spears around me when I’m talking with anyone when I don’t have my weapons.” He looked at this new woman as he reaching his hand slowly for his sword and shield a guard stepping closer before being stopped by the princess. “As you wish I understand your concern I’ll allow you to have them on you well we talk if you must have them in order to be calm,” Celestia said well waving a hand to point at a table before she walked over and sat down taking a seat before being joined at the table by Twilight and her friends. Drake sat down across from Celestia. “Before you ask my name is Drake. Princess and now that you know my name, let me say this some questions I may outright refuse to answer for personal reasons so ask away.” “Ok well, it’s a pleasure to meet you drake.” Celestia smiled and looked him over noticing something on his neck a pendant but a strange looking one. “Where did you come from?” “I came from Lordran.” He stated as if he had known what she was going to ask. “What kind of land was it?” Celestia asked looking at the man. Drake sighed deeply and looks at them all. “For the land, I come from it is a darker land than here for every person outside there are 10 who would seek harm on any of you or me in my world you must be strong to survive and stronger still to make a difference.” Celestia nodded listening and looked at him. “That sounds awful I must say for every one you meet to want to hurt you but I must ask what about friends?” “Friends are hard to find where I come from since almost everyone has an angle to work to get what they want,” Drake said looking down at the table and then back at them looking at each of the girls then sighed. “However when you do find some friends every one of them will fight at your side against all things they would even face death at your side if you ask.” “I see tell us more about you, yourself,” Celestia asked looking back at him her eye moving to the pendant. “You keep looking at my pendent princess” he takes off the pendant and throws it over to her so she can take a better look at it. “There’s nothing special about it no magic or miracle just memory it gives off a feeling of nostalgia doesn’t it?” The princess nods and smiles sliding it back to him. “Yes it does so what can you tell us about you.” “Well, all right princess I can do that well from what I can remember, I woke up in an undead asylum fought my way out after someone named Oscar, let me out of the cell I was in, killed the asylum demon then was carried by a giant crow to Lordran. Any way to make a long story short I fought and killed really strong demons, undead knights, some giant guards, the old lords of the land that had abandoned there people and then sacrificed myself to the first flame in order to help the people locked in the cycle of death and rebirth, so yeah that’s my whole journey to this point take a few months.
Chapter 3View OnlineEquestira's First flameChapter 3Chapter 3 After an hour of talking to the girls and the princess about his life leaving out a few scorching details he then gets up from his chair and sighs. “So, in short, my whole second life was spent running around doing the normal adventuring thing killing monsters and the like, and with that, I’m going to go find a nice tree to sleep under for the night so tell tomorrow or whenever I see you, girls, again.” He gets up and goes over to the door. “Why don’t you stay here with my student Twilight, She has a guest room you may use if you want,” Celestia stated looking at Drake smiling. “Princess, what do you mean he can live with me?” Twilight asked looking at her mentor. “Think about it Twilight it would let you learn about a whole new world and species.” Celestia looked down at her student who nodded after thinking about it, figuring that it would be a good idea. “Well if you’re sure that you want that then I won’t argue about having a bed to lie on to rest for once thanks, would you mind showing me to it then Twilight?” he asked looking at his new roommate. “Yes right this way.” She said leading him to his room which was upstairs on the left across from the bathroom. “Thanks for offering to let me stay Twilight I’ll find some way of paying you back for this.” Drake said before turning around and walking into his room putting his stuff on the dresser in the room and even laid out his armor striping out of it and laid in the bed in a white shirt and black leather pants being the only “normal” pair of pants he has. “Ok princess I lead him to his room but what more are we to do with him the stuff he told us you don’t think he would hurt anypony here do you, princess?” Twilight asked looking at her mentor. “No I don’t think he will he seems to have not liked having to kill anypony I’m sure he will be no problem at all to anypony unless they try to hurt him first.” Celestia smiles looking at her ponies and starts to leave. “But just in case be careful around him.” “Yes, Princess we will.” Twilight and her friends say in unison well watching the princess and her guards leave. “Now what should we do girls, he is unpacking some of his stuff now, so I think showing him around ponyville so he can get a feel for the town would be a good idea what do you girls think?” “Yeah, we should totally take him to sugar cube corner and throw him a welcome to ponyville party.” Pinkie Pie said happily and smiles. “Well, that does seem like it would be a good idea that way he could meet someone and we could see how he acts around other personality types,” Twilight said trying to think of all the possible outcomes but gives up not knowing enough about him to properly come up with any possibilities. Drake came back downstairs from his room and looked at the girls. “What the hell is a party?” Pinkie Pie gasped looking at Drake with a look of shock on her face. “WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT A PARTY IS! So you never heard of a party even?” “Not that I can remember Pinkie pie not that I remember much about my past.” Drake shrugs and looks around the room. “So I’m guessing the princess left huh?” “Yes, and a party is a social gathering that usually involves lots of individuals talking and playing games together in an attempt to get to know each other on a friendly basis”Twilight explained smiling at not being cut off from the lesson. “Thank you for explaining that to me Twilight but now knowing all that, no thank you Pinkie I’m not into crowded events sense every time I got crowded before it ended in me dying every painfully so no thank you sorry,” Drake said leaning on a wall. “B-but you have to let me throw a party for you please I want to introduce you to every one of my friends.” Pinkie bagged Drake and looked up at him with the biggest puppy dog eyes she could muster. “Are you trying to use your cuteness as a weapon to get me to say “yes”? If so then it’s not going to work on me.” Drake said looking down at Pinkie Pie. “Please, please girls help me convince him.” Pinkie said looking over at all of her friends and Fluttershy started doing her own puppy dog face at Drake. “You know she won’t stop till you say yes,” Twilight said well the others slowly joined Pinkie. “I’m not going to join because I can respect your desire not to have a party.” Drake’s right eye twitched as he looked at Applejack, Rainbowdash, Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Rarity. “Stop it now or I’ll get a cavity I don’t want a party Pinkie,” Drake said somewhat annoyed by their actions. “But then again Pinkie might cry if you don’t let her throw you a party.” Twilight smiled trying to guilt trip drake into just saying yes. “Ugh fine, alright you can throw me a small party Pinkie now all of you stop this,” Drake said as he facepalmed himself, annoyed by the fact he let them beg and guilt him into saying yes him a man that fought gods, dragons, and demons. “Yay!” Pinkie said and hugged Drake tightly looking up at him. “You won’t regret it a promise Drake it will be the best first Party you ever had.” “Just remember Pinkie I said a small party nothing big and try to keep the number of guests under 20,” Drake said, well gently trying to remove himself from her tight hug but gave up and returned the hug instead lifting Pinkie up off the ground making a small blush spread across her face from him lifting her up in a hug. After discussing the rules for the party the guest had to be only the close family and friends pinkie had, every pony but Applejack rainbow twilight and spike left the library heading home. “Okay, you better listen up Drake if you hurt pinkie or anypony else’s feelings I and rainbow will beat you down.” Applejack said glaring at Drake with Rainbowdash standing next to her. “Girls now please calm down I’m sure Drake has no intention of doing such a thing right?” Twilight looked back at Drake who glared back at Applejack. “No I don’t have any intention of hurting anyone’s feeling but I won’t change to make them happy either and I won’t be intimidated into being nice,” Drake said before walking up to his room and goes to sleep leaving Twilight, Applejack, and Rainbow to say goodnight.
