Xcom HQ, Somewhere in the US
Officer Bradford had accused the Princesses of Equestria for sending aliens that looked like them. The Princesses had taken that so literally that they declared war on XCOM. They left the conversation on the picture at the bottom of the story. Dr.Vahlen and her scientists had traced it to Kyoto, Japan.
Before they assaulted the EXALT cell, they had to take care of who would go. They had only squaddies to gain Intel. They had assault soldier Vincent to go and be behind lines of this new enemy. Her objective was to hack EXALT comm arrays to disrupt communications for a couple of days, and gain Intel of where enemy shipments are coming from.

Before the, XCOM assaulted EXALT, they had to deal with another alien abduction. Reports say that the enemy forces are light. Such as Pinktoids and Appleman. XCOM had to deal with the alien threat in Liverpool, England before they assaulted the EXALT cell in Kyoto, Japan
Montreal, Canada
September 12th, 2017
The Xcom council sent a squad of 4 to the city of Montreal. Their goal; investigate a possible alien abduction.
"Ok, Strike one we are investigating a sighting of alien life forms" Bradford said. " The commander will run you through, where you need to take cover."
Only Cpt. Sheets had a rifle that could do any damage. It was up to the others when to take a shot. One soldier, Lt. Sackuvich moved up to the bus stop and peered inside. She saw a pink leg go to the other side of the stop. Sq. Wilson moved to the other side of a yellow taxi cab. He saw the alien "Pinktoid" carrying a corpse of man. Wilson fire his M-24 and missed his shot. Shortly after, another pinktoid, an "Appleman" and an "Rainton" appeared and took cover in the building across the street. One of them flanked Sacksuvich. But was killed by Sheets Overwatch shot.
While that conflict happened Sgt. Rainer went in by himself armed with a pump shotgun. He spotted a "Sparktherial", a "Shytoid" ( a Pinktoid in a robotic suit), and an "Rarton Elite." Rainer retreated immediately by was shot to death by a Shytoid. The other 3 soldiers finished their assault on the three aliens in the office building, but had the three other aliens come out. The soldiers thought there was no chance they can take the enemy down. In a result, they aborted the mission. They left the other aliens alive, but will zoom come and attack the HQ someday. But that's in a later story.
