Celestia was doing her morning flyby to enjoy the sights of Equestria.
"I could have sworn i heard a gunshot last night..." she spoke to herself. But she quickly shook it off as her imagination.
It was then, that something caught her eye. Something was shining in her face from a nearby cave. the aura emitting from this glow was strange, it filled her with fear, as if it were a powerful monster that could rip her to shreds at any given second. But on the other hand, it filled her with reassurance, as if that same monster would never hurt a fly. Eventually, curiosity got the best of her and she went down to investigate, and what she found shocked her.
A lone baby laying next to a sword. The sword, however, seemed odd to her. It was definitely magical, she could sense it, but it still seemed... off. It seemed normal, until she got to the hilt of the sword. It was normal in shape, but it consisted of six colors: Lavender, yellow, orange, cyan, pink, and white. What happened next caught her off guard.
"Hey, you." came an unfamiliar voice.
The confused sun princess looked around.
"Who's there?" she demanded.
"Down here, dumbass."
Celestia looked down, only to see the sword had gotten up by itself.
"Pardon my language, princess. My name is Harmony."
"I've read about you! You're the ancient sword created by Faust herself!"
"You are correct, princess. Looks like somebody does her studying." the sword, now known as Harmony, stated. "I am, in fact, the sword from the legends, and he is my rightful wielder!" Harmony pointed towards the baby that he was found with.
"That young boy?" Celestia questioned.
"Yes." stated Harmony. "There is an unwritten part of the legends, left out of the book, that states that I will have a rightful wielder that will defeat the the darkness that will befall this beautiful land of Equestria."
"And that wielder is this young boy?"
"Yes, he will grow up and wield me against the future threats of Equestria!"
Celestia looked over towards the baby. What she found strange was the magical energy emanating from the baby was the same magical energy that was emanating from Harmony.
"Okay, I believe you. I will take the responsibility of this baby." she walked over and picked up the baby. "I can tell he's not destined to die here anyway."
"Sister!"
Celestia turned to see Luna had just landed at the entrance to the cave she was in.
"I was worried sick about you!" Luna looked at the baby in the arms of her sister. "Is that a baby?"
"Yes, it is. I found him here all alone, and I can't just leave him here to die."
"Very well. But if you are going to take him in, you will have to tend to him just as his real mother would."
"I am aware of this."
"And as a mother, what are you going to name him?"
Calestia rubbed her chin in thought for a moment before coming to a conclusion.
"How about Leon?"
Luna thought for a moment.
"Yes, I like that name. It has a certain ring to it."
"Well then, Leon it is!"
And with that, Celestia, Luna, and Harmony flew back to the castle.
"I would still like to know why there is a sword following us."
"Oh, him? This is Harmony, the sword of legend."
"You mean it's that Harmony?" Luna questioned.
"Yes, I am."
Luna screamed at the talking sword.
"Shh! You're going to wake up Leon!" Celestia stated. "Honestly, after all of the enemies we've fought together, a talking sword scares you?"
Luna looked away with a blush.
"It caught me off guard, that's all!"
"Sure it did~" Celestia teased.
Luna looked over to her sister, who had on a troll face.
"I am, however, wondering how Leon got in that cave."
"His mother left him there." Harmony piped up.
"What!? But why would she do that?" Celestia yelled.
"It was her only choice. She was being chased by a gang of bandits, and if they caught her, they would either kill her and Leon, or they would kill her and take Leon in as their own and raise him to be a bandit."
All three of them shivered at both of those thoughts.
"But why didn't you stop him?" Luna questioned
"All of the bandits were wearing a type of mineral that cancels out magic, making me as useless as a normal sword against them."
"I did not know such a mineral existed." Luna stated.
"Not many know, but it's as real as the sun. It's also the reason that Leon's mother couldn't simply teleport away." Harmony's voice started to crack "Dammit! I wish I could have saved her!"
"It's okay Harmony. You did all you could." Celestia reassured.
Harmony "looked" towards Celestia. He felt a calming aura coming from her.
After about ten minutes of flying, the trio, plus Leon, made it to the castle.
"Well, here we are!" I'll take Leon to my room until we can get him his own room"
"That sounds fair." stated Harmony.
"Fine by me." said Luna.
And with that, Celestia walked off towards her room, getting weird glances the way there for obvious reasons.
And thus begins the story of Equestria's defender, Leon!
