The Mind of a Child

Yes, Twilight Sparkle and yours is the most powerful and elusive element; Magic. Fluttershy's is Kindness and Pinkie Pie's is a personal favorite of mine.... Laughter.....

She's scared, tears flowing down her face while she hides behind her pink mane. Her friends are all gone, driven into madness and pain. Discord slithers around her hissing and showing her his fang and sharp teeth.

"Discord, why are you doing this? I though we were... friends...." Fluttershy whimpers.

"We were NEVER friends, you ponies tricked me!" Discord barks. "I thought you understood, but I was being foolish....."

"But I do understand! Why can't you see that?"

"You did......?"

"Yes Discord," Fluttershy said. "All you wanted was a friend, and I gave you my friendship...."

Discord looked upset. "Fluttershy, I....." Fluttershy reached out to Discord, but the Draconequus became angry. " NO! YOU LIED TO ME!"

Discord lashed at her making her scream, her coat turns grey and her kindness fades. Fluttershy then leaps on him and knocks him down, then runs away in fear.

"Discord," I call helping him get up. "What really happened that day? When they tried to reform you?"

"Well.... After Fluttershy told me she wasn't going to be my friend anymore I realized that if I ever wanted to avoid being turned to stone again, I would have to wait until after I had gained their trust......"

"NOT YOUR FRIEND!" Fluttershy screamed throwing the ice skates that Discord had offered her.

"Who cares? I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. I'm Discord the Master of Chaos!" Discord responded with pride in his voice. "You think you can boss Discord around? You think I'm just going to turn all this back just because YOU say so? Because if I don't I'll lose the one friend I ever had?"

At that point Discord realized if he wanted to gain control of Equestria he was going to have to trick everyone, even stooping so low as to cry and share in their 'friendship' game. The Draconequus bit his lip as his eyes began to tear. He stared at the ice skates for a moment and sighed.

"Well played Fluttershy, well played....." He whispered.

He slowly slid across the the ice and rested on the top of an apple tree. A white light spread across the orchard of Sweet Apple Acres and removed the whole chaotic mess. While Fluttershy and her friends cheered and rejoiced. Discord appeared in front of them with a flash.

"I like it better my way, but I guess when you're friends you can't exactly have things your way all the time, eh?"

"I fooled them all, Celestia even fell for my act! Afterwards it was all back to chaos, Twilight and her friends were furious! But Fluttershy believed there was still some good in me, so using a spell book that Twilight kept in a secret part of her library she cast a very strong reforming spell on me.......

Discord waited until every last light in Equestria was turned out, all the ponies were asleep. Now was the time for chaos, when they would least expect it. He snapped his talons and quickly got to work, starting with Ponyville. He made the town even worse then last time! Soap roads, flying pigs, tornadoes, chocolate milk waves and even more madness. No more playtime, this time he meant business. When Ponyville was finished he moved on towards Canterlot, Manehattan, Fillydelphia, Las Pegasus, Baltimare, Appaloosa, and all the other towns in the land of Equestria. When he reached the Everfree Forest the sun was in the sky and ponies would wake up to see his beautiful chaos. But to his surprise he found the six ponies he least wanted to see right now.

"Discord! I knew you couldn't be trusted! Return Equestria to normal!" Twilight Sparkle demanded.

But Discord simply laughed. "Oh you ponies are SO easy to fool! Especially you Fluttershy...."

Rainbow Dash flew in front of the cowering Pegasus. "Leave her alone you monster!"

Discord shrugged. "Well, I've got better things to do. Hope you ponies enjoy your little argument.... In the dark....."

And with that the Draconequus laughed madly and disappeared. Twilight shook her head.

"I knew it was all a trick, there is no way he could ever change."

Twilight turned towards Fluttershy, the poor mare was almost in tears.

"Fluttershy, don't cry darling," Rarity said. "You tried your hardest, but someone like Discord just can't change."

But Fluttershy shook her head. "No, he meant it. I know he did, all he wants is to be accepted for who he is. And none of you gave him a chance!"

"But Fluttershy!" Applejack started. "You saw him with yer own eyes, he tricked us! He said so the last time he was here, he doesn't believe in the Magic of Friendship."

Fluttershy ran up to Twilight. "Please Twilight! Isn't there anything you can do to help him? Help him know we mean well?"

Twilight thought for a moment. "Hmmmm, you know? I think I might have another trick we can use..."

The six ponies rushed into the Golden Oaks Library. Twilight called out for Spike, "Spike! Spike!"

The baby dragon came running knocking down a few books along the way. "Right here Twilight! What do ya need?"

"Spike, Discord's on the loose again! I need you to get.... That book....."

Spike looked nervous. "You don't mean.....?"

"Yes, I need you to get me that book Spike hurry!"

Spike nodded and rushed out of the room with sweat beginning to form. He pushed aside a few old books in one of the back rooms. He pushed a small part of the wall aside and resting was an old book with a grey cover. Inside contained some of the oldest, strongest, strangest, and most dangerous spells known to Ponydom. The baby dragon quickly returned.

"Good work Spike! Now let me see....."

Twilight flipped through the pages of the book until she came across the spell she wanted.

"I didn't want to have to use this, but considering Discord already ate my other reforming spells...."

"What's it gonna do Twilight?" Applejack asked.

"Oh! A guessing game!" Pinkie cheered. "Is it going to freeze him? Will it turn him invisible? Is it going to make a chocote swirl cake? Will it turn everypony into a giant jello pony?! Will it make everyone reading this Fanfiction confused?"

Twilight shook her head. "No Pinkie, it won't do any of those strange things you just said. Wait? What was that last one?"

"Oh, nothing!" Pinkie called back with a smile.

Twilight shook her head and continued. "This is one of the most powerful reformed spells ever created. It should defiantly get Discord to behave, and this way we won't have to use the Elements of Harmony again."

Everypony seemed to agree with the plan, one by one for extra precaution they all wore their Element of Harmony and rushed out the door to confront Discord, leaving Spike alone in the library without a clue to whether Twilight would come back alright. The six ponies found Discord in the middle of all the chaos, it was almost impossible not to get a small scratch or trip over something from all the disorder.

"Discord!" Twilight yelled. "Return Equestria back to it's normal state at once!"

"Or what?" Discord replied smugly. "You'll turn me to stone again?"

He snapped his talons removing Rarity's horn and Rainbow and Fluttershy's wings once again. "Will you ponies ever learn?"

But Twilight was ready, she hit him with a spell causing him to be pushed backwards and onto the ground. Applejack and Rainbow Dash held his lion paw and eagle claw down so he couldn't snap his talons again and move. Besides the spell was already weakening him. Pinkie Pie and Rarity held down his cloven hoof and lizard leg down. Fluttershy kept his tail from moving. Twilight stood over him.

"You were warned Discord, you were given a chance to change, but now I see that you can't change. So if you won't choose to change, we'll make you...."

Her horn began to glow and a magenta aura surrounded her a magic beam came and filled the sky with light. Discord struggled but he was too weak and was outmatched. He knew it was over, there was no way to escape. Twilight sent the spell towards him quickly. With one last breath he closed his eyes and prepared for the spell to hit him. A white light flashed and engulfed everything.....

"You will pay for this Twilight Sparkle, you and your friends. And you will never see the Princesses again."

After that I've tried to resist the spell, and I'll tell you one thing I control magic, magic doesn't control me. Eventually I was able to remove the spell and I fled into this world. And well....... you know the rest........"

I shook my head in disbelief. "I can't believe they did that to you! Forcing you to change like that....."

Tears stung my eyes, but I was trying hard not to cry. I'm fourteen for crying out loud! (Pun not intended if your that smart)

"Don't cry," Discord told me. "The spell is gone, I'm here, isn't that what matters right now?"

He laid his lion paw on me and I felt it. So...this is what is feels like to be brainwashed...... I like it, my mind being twisted to his bidding. Slowly I can feel all my worries go away, I could get used to this.

"Your right, this is all that matters...." I say with his lion paw moving across my chest slowly. I look out into the world of chaos and anarchy I love it. I'm having fun, Discord's here and he will get his revenge. I'll make sure of that.

"That's my girl...." Discord replies in a dark tone.

Everypony has to play or the game is over, and I win.

"Noo!"

I quickly lift myself to find that I fell asleep. When did this happen? I had a nightmare, it broke my heart but I wasn't scared. I wiped the few tears away and found myself lying on grass. I picked myself off the ground but tripped and almost fell before something caught me. It was Discord.

"Careful, you wouldn't want to hurt yourself before your first dance."

My...first.....dance? What! I look up to see Discord turning me around to face him. Then the unexpected happens. Discord puts his lion paw on top of my shoulder, and his eagle claw around my waist. Wait...is he going to DANCE WITH ME?! He can't be serious! There is no way someone like him would do this with someone like me ever!

"Discord no... I can't do this...." I tell him.

"Yes you can," He says back. "It's just like the times before, remember?"

I freeze for a moment and think. When I was a year younger I used to always imagine Discord and me on a grassy hill dancing together, I would never be able to get it out of my head. Discord spinning in circles with me, holding my hand. I loved it; sometimes I even imagine Celestia, Luna, Twilight, and her friends watching us with their mouths open in shock. Remembering makes me smile a bit. Slowly I put my hand around Discord. I take one step and it goes on just the way I remember, the experience is even better and more amazing then I ever could imagine. My heart is ready to burst and my head explode from what I'm doing. You can go ahead and say it's dumb, but right now I don't care.

"You've been practicing, haven't you?" Discord asks me, even though he knows the answer.

Every day I would imagine this, my dancing would get better every time. The scenery behind us would change to familiar childhood memories. Like from when I would watch the Disney Princesses. I was nervous at first, now I don't want to ever want to leave.

"Please don't let go..." I whisper.

"I promise I won't."

I can't believe this has all happened, if this is a dream I never want to wake up.  After all my awkward moments, and through all of my random and stupid acts, he stills stays with me. Just as I feel him pulling me towards him, I finally realized we've stopped dancing. And once again, I'm kissed. I don't care if I'm fourteen I love this!

"Say goodbye to all your pain, all your worries, all your fears, and all your friends....."

"Demon!"

"Monster!"

"Abomination!"

I will defend Discord at all costs, I owe him my life.
