Harry Osborn: Rebirth
Chapter 8 - It's a cold weather, isn't it?
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Harry... Wake up..."
A soft voice guided me out of the long sleep.
"Harry... It's time to wake up.."
The same voice said again, driving the last bits of dream out of me and filling my heart with warm feeling.
"Harry. You are awake. I can see it."
I carefully opened my eyes, expecting the hard light to hit them. Instead, a deep green eyes stared down at me. A bright yellow red hair were tickling my nose, forcing me to sneeze.
Sunset stared down at me, laughing.
"Finally I woke you up." She said quietly smiling.
We were lying together in bed. Sunset was lying horizontally on top of me, not letting me to move. A temperature was rising in my face.
"Good... Morning." I said, trying to ignore Sunset's weight on me.
"You are so beautiful in the morning." I told her quietly. "Even when you're lying on top of me." I added, smiling.
Shimmer smiled back, blushing.
"You're softer than the mattress. And warmer." Her soft voice, like honey, warmed me.
I hugged her trying gently trying to roll over, but she gently landed hoof in my chest, that way letting me know it's not a very good idea.
"Not yet, baby." She said with a smirk. "Before I'll let you go, I want you to understand few things."
Her voice changed dramatically, becoming cold and quiet. So cold that I felt a shiver go through my body.
I forced myself to nod. A cold sweat was pouring down my spine already.
Sunset though, smiled warmly and continued:
"First of all, remember, you are a pony now. Not a human. Any human ideals here might not be correctly understood. Still following?" She looked at me inquiringly.
I was so shocked that I swallowed and nodded. Continuing to smile, she continued.
"Secondly. Try to use your powers against any of my friends, including me, and you will dream you never got out of that prison." Making a pause, she continued.
"Third, if you will tell anyone, anything about what happened this night and no regeneration will heal your wounds." She said it in such a manner, that I was horrified, but still loved her.
"Very well than. I'll wait for you downstairs. We are still at hospital, remember?" And with a flash she reappeared standing in front of the bed, smiling at me.
I dared not to make a move a muscle, until she exited.
When she did, I remembered that I was not breathing at all. Struggling, I exhaled and said to myself:
"Even the roses have spikes. And this one has a lot of them." I murmured to myself, standing up and looking around on my surroundings.
I found myself in a little room with a large window, bed and a shelf with several books on it.
I used my speed to read them hoping they will let me get some information about Equestria. But they looked like adventure books. Something similar to the Indiana Jones, but a female pony version. In less then a minute I read all of these books and I had to admit. They were very well written.
The next five seconds I was busy brushing my teeth with the hooves. And it was very difficult. At last I ended up with throwing the tooth brush in the air and while it was falling, using my speed, I cleaned my teeth against it. Thank goodness I was alone and Sunset could not see that.
However, a voice through my head told me otherwise.
"You could use magic, you know?" Sunset's voice was calm, but she was laughing hard and I could feel it.
"You could tell me that earlier, you know?" I paid back.
"But then I wouldn't see how will you manage to clean your teeth. And it was... Intriguing." She parried and broke out laughing.
I couldn't be angry at her. Not even if I wanted to.
But it was time to go. Sunset made it clear. So, I exited the room at normal speed and walked down to the reception where Sunset was already waiting for me.
"That was quick." She told me, smiling. I smiled back, but didn't reply. Instead I met her eyes.
No matter how fast I am, was, or will ever be, I got paralyzed. Her eyes. Huge green eyes were glowing like a universe. Her black irises were like black holes, that got me. We stared at each other, feeling that a heart we had is now one.
"A-hem" a voice from reception made us to break our euphoria.
A grey serious old lady pony was looking at us from the reception. She had cold grey eyes and a similar smile.
She was looking at us, waiting.
"Oh, excuse us!" Said Sunset, like she just has woken up.
"You want to sign out?" A lady pony asked. Sunset nodded several times, but it wasn't necessary. "Name?"
"Harry. Harry Osborn." I told my name.
A shiver ran through a receptionist pony at hearing my surname.
"Osborn? He is His son?!"
She was asking Sunset, almost losing her breath.
"Calm down. Green goblin is no more and even if Harry is his son, that doesn't mean that he is like him." Sunset was almost angry, but her voice was calm.
"If you're talking about my father, he was not a good person. In fact, he was one of the many people that were more keen to kill me than love."
I added earning a look from Shimmer. I wasn't sure wether it was thankful or "I will kill you" look, but with ladies you can never be sure.
However, these words seemed to ease a receptionist a bit. She sighed and continued to look at the papers. But after finding me, she gave me a questionable look.
"You were speared 3 days ago and you are already walking. That's interesting. However, that's none of my concern. Have a good time, Harry. And try not to get yourself injured again." She finished. But it very clear that she meant completely opposite.
"I'll do my best, madam. I'll do my best." I told her, following Sunset to the exit.
"I'm hungry, I told Sunset mentally, but all she replied was:
"You'll survive." And continued walking.
I was hungry. After all, I didn't eat for 4 days in this world and God knows how much I wasn't eating in the prison.
But she was right. I'll survive.
Exiting the hospital, a shiver ran down me. It wasn't warm now outside, even though it was a morning. I shivered. An autumn was strengthening its claws on the Equestria, leading the last bits of summer out.
But I was surprised how happy everyone, or everypony, was. On earth people weren't so... bright. Every pony was busy, but none of them seemed to be bothered with the work they were doing. Smiles, laughter and friendship was so much, that even the air was full of it.
"Harry. Are you here?" Sunset's voice flew through my head. She sounded weaker than the last time.
"For you I'm always here." I replied.
Sunset smiled and without looking back, continued talking:
"How does it feel? First minutes in the other world?"
Question wasn't surprising, but even here I got lost with the answer.
"Well... It feels nice, but completely different from the Earth. At home there isn't this type of atmosphere. In New York there would be fights, noise, pollution, but here! It's quiet, peaceful place where ponies enjoy every minute of their lives."
My reply was long, but somehow, Sunset managed to listen to all of it and even reply.
"This little village is called Ponyville. And yeah, everypony is happy. But we are here not for long. We are leaving straight after visiting Peter and Twilight. They will come with us to Canterlot."
I felt not so happy about these news. I had a feel for this village and I wanted to stay. Also, if Peter and Twilight live here, I would like to stay closer to them and keep an eye on them.
"I know that you want to stay, but it's not possible for now. We still have to speak with princesses about what's going on and what should we do with you." As if reading my thoughts said Sunset. "As for now, let's get to treebrary."
Treebrary? That's something new!
"But before we get there I want to make you a present. Like a "welcome" present." She added, blushing.
"You already did by bringing me to hospital." I replied smiling.
"Well, I didn't plan it to work out this way." She parried, flamingly.
"Don't worry! You're alive and good. That's all that matters." I tried to calm the fire down. And it looks like I did just fine.
"Have I ever mentioned how sweet you are?" Sunset asked.
Stop! That's getting to close to a friendzone!
"Did I ever mention how beautiful you look?" I tried to escape. And I did!
She suddenly stopped, all red.
"Are you okay?" I got worried, but she started laughing and lightly hitting me into the shoulder. Letting her do that, I hugged her around her neck. My temperature rose, but temperature was a bit low, so I didn't mind.
When I hugged her, only than I understood that she was shivering. Her bright yellow fur was cold.
"God you're freezing!" I said, surprisingly. "Wait a second. I have an idea!"
Letting her go and entering my super speed mode, I concentrated on my horn. I tried to make a warm coat out of thin air. Concentrate. Not to much power. Not to little. Calm dow. Picture what you want. And on count of three, pass an energy through the horn.
I felt it warm up. Don't let anything bother you, concentrate. A bit more power.
Suddenly, with a quiet pop, an object appeared in front of my horn. I looked up and looked at my creation.
It was a sun hot yellow red color, matching Sunsets mane. It also had holes for four legs and a tail.
Exiting my speed mode, I caught a coat just before it could touch the ground.
Sunset looked at me with a weird look. A tear appeared, but it froze almost immediately.
"Harry... It's... How?" I saw that Sunset had many questions, but I put my hood to her lips, hushing.
"It's my "thank you" present."
And smilingly, I helped her to put it on.
Sunset looked gorgeous! A coat was thin, but warm. It was sitting on her tightly, not letting a single detail of her beauty to be lost, but it wasn't in any way naughty.
"You are gorgeous." I smiled to her and added "let's get going. Coat is warm, but no need to have hope in things."
We continued walking in silence, keeping close to each other until the very moment we came to the Treebrary.
