//-------------------------------------------------------// My Little Toa: Quest for the Masks -by knigsonic- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: THE PROPHESY //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: THE PROPHESY Protector of Stone, Big Mac, was sleeping the night away. Being chief of a village was tough work, especially when said village was in the middle of a desert. However, he couldn’t be any more at home than he was right now. Suddenly a massive explosion shook the entire village, causing him to wake up instantly. Mac ran out of his hut a few seconds later to see that his entire village had woken up and were now panicking. Mac frowned watching his village panicking, and slammed his mighty foot into the ground to get their attention. Now Big Mac was known for a Protector of few words, but when he had something to say, you listened. “Everybody return to your homes at once!” He said as the villagers nodded and returned to their homes… All except one. The village elder, Granny Smith, walked over to Big Mac and looked up to him, saying, “Your gonna go see what that there explosion was all about, aren’t ya?” She said to which Mac responded with his trademark “EeYup”. Granny nodded and turned towards her home. Mac frowned and grabbing his weapon, a laser staff, left the village of stone towards the area of the Massive explosion. Mac crossed the ocean of sand towards what seemed to be the one of the sacred area’s on the island, owned by the Mask Maker Sister’s, Celestia and Luna. Mac knew that if he was heading in towards the Mask Makers, then his fellow protectors would surely be meeting up with him before long. And it would appear he was right. Mac was soon joined by two of his fellow protectors and friends, the Protector of Earth, Maud Pie, and the protector of Ice, Bulk Biceps. Together, they made their way towards the Mask Makers Hut, only to find it empty. “I don’t understand” Maud said as they looked around, “Where are the Mask Maker’s?” Bulk looked outside to see the last of the protectors, Sunset Shimmer, Protector of Fire, Daring Do, Protector of Jungle, and Zecora, Protector of Water. “I don’t know, but Im sure we will be able to double our efforts in finding the Mask Makers now that they are here” Bulk said as Mac walked over giving his usual “EeYup” as they walked over towards the other protectors. Sunset sighed as her fellow protectors searched the area around the Hut in hopes of finding the Great Sister’s, but at this point, their search seemed to begin turning up fruitless. “Ugh… I don’t think we will EVER find them now” She said as she used her fire claws to cut through more rock in hopes that one of the Mask Makers was behind it. “EVERYONE! OVER HERE!” Yelled Daring who was standing by a massive hole in the ground. The other protectors ran over to her and looked into the hole gasping at what they saw. There in the hole, was the maskless, lifeless body of Celestia. However, there was no sign of Luna. Mac frowned down at the lifeless body and turning towards his fellow protectors, said “We must give the Great Celestia a proper burial.” The other protectors nodded only for Zecora to stop them and put a hand to her ear. “What is that that my ear does hear?” She said as the other protectors quieted down as they soon heard a faint whisper in the air. They all turned back towards the lifeless body of Celestia and gasped as the whisper was coming from Celestia herself! “When Times A Dark, and All Hope Seems Lost, the Protectors must Unite, One from each Tribe. Evoke the Power of both Past and Future, and Look to the Skies for an Answer. When the Stars Align, Six Comets will Bring Timeless Heroes to Claim the Masks of Power, And Find the Mask Maker. United, The Elements Hold the Power to Defeat Evil. United, But not One.” The Protectors had brought the Mask Maker Celestia to a sacred room hidden away on the Island of Okoto. They gently set her down inside a coffin of stone. The protectors looked at the great one in pure sadness as Mac and Daring set a replica Mask of Sunlight onto her face, before the other protectors pushed the coffin lid onto her coffin, and sighed. The Great Mask Maker had somehow lost her life, and currently, there was no way of bringing her back. Worse yet, Her sister Luna had still not shown up after all that had transpired, and hope for her being alive grew even slimmer. As the protectors left the tomb of the Great Celestia, Sunset decided to take one last moment alone to be with Celestia. The rest of the protectors nodded and respected it, knowing that Celestia had been like a mother to Sunset. “Oh Celestia… I shall greatly miss you. I only hope that these dark times you predicted never happen. But if they do… I only pray that we will be reunited again one day. I shall miss you…. Mother…” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: RISE OF THE SKULL SPIDERS //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: RISE OF THE SKULL SPIDERS Many months had passed since the Protectors had laid Celestia to rest. Sunset had locked herself in her room not being able to take the pain that Celestia was gone. Her heart was broken from the pain of losing someone. However… she soon begun to wonder just what exactly had caused Celestia to go into her endless sleep, and just what exactly had happened to Luna “I must find Luna. Maybe she will know what happened to Celestia” Sunset said as she grabbed her fire claws and went out the door. Sunset began the long journey back towards the sacred land of the Mask Makers. A few hours later she walked up towards the hut and opened the door. “Hmm… It doesn’t look like there was a struggle of any kind… so what exactly happened here?” she said walking over to Luna’s forge. She noticed right away that Luna’s forge was covered with pieces of metal. Usually forges are cleaned before a new project was worked on, so Sunset knew it had to of been a more recent project. She then noticed that each of the pieces of metal were that of all the elements, Fire, Jungle, Water, Ice, Stone, and Earth. “Oh No… She didn’t, did she?” Sunset asked to herself. Sunset then ran outside towards the hole where Celestia was found and looked around for where she could have been launched from to have her land there. She then noticed a mountain in the distance, looking like it had been split down the middle. Sunset began moving towards the mountain to inspect why exactly it was split down the middle. Apon reaching the other side, she soon found out why. There, on the other side of the mountain, was another crater. Inside that hole… Was Luna. However, something seemed off about her. No longer was her armor blue, silver, but pitch black with a dark shade of blue and blood red. For some reason as well, dark shadows were leaching off of her, trying to escape to the world. Sunset gasped at the sight before her. “Luna… What happened to you?” She asked herself as she walked down the crater towards the lifeless body. Sunset noticed that Luna’s mask was missing as well. “Where did yours and Celestia’s mask go?” She asked herself. As soon as the question left her mouth, the ground began shaking. Sunset turned towards Luna who was shaking the most. Suddenly Luna’s body began to float into the air with a thin blanket of pure darkness underneath her. She then disappeared into thin air, leaving Sunset alone with her thoughts, worried and scared. Luna awoke deep underground inside a massive cave and gave a look around. “Luna? HA! Luna is DEAD thanks to that worthless Wretch that I called my ‘Sister’. No… Now and forever… I am… NIGHTMARE MOON!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA”, She said to herself, “I shall teach them ALL for praising my Sisters work. I shall create monsters of my own imagination, They will destroy those villagers, find the Mask of Ultimate Power, and bring it back to me so that I may rule over Okoto. And NOTHING can stop me!” Nightmare Moon waved her hand as dark magic leapt from it, landing on the ground as legs suddenly sprang out, followed by fangs, and eyes of pure evil, glowing a sinister red. “Arise my creation. You shall lead my army onto the surface and obey my every whim. Do you understand?” Nightmare Moon said to the monstrosity as it nodded in agreement. “Hehe good…” Nightmare Moon chuckled before walking to a larger part of the cave and waved her other hand as more magic sprang from her, covering the entire room. Soon, hundreds of THOUSANDS of smaller versions of Nightmare Moons original creation sprang to life. “Hehe… Now then my Skull Spiders… Seek out the Mask of Ultimate Power, return it to me, and terrorize ANYONE who stands in your way!” Nightmare Moon commanded as the Skull Spiders all screeched a yes and began crawling towards the surface. Nightmare Moon smirked as she turned towards the Lord of Skull Spiders speaking one more command to it. “Go my son… Use the shadows… and keep my sister… Asleep…” It has been a month since Sunset found Luna, and ever since thing life on Okoto had become worse. Strange spiders have begun appearing outta nowhere recently, terrorizing the villages while destroying homes and property. Worse, rumor had it that these spiders would knock masks off of some villager’s faces, then latch onto them, instantly taking over their body, earning them the nickname ‘Skull Spiders’. Sunset frowned that all of this was happening around them, and they could do nothing to stop them. Suddenly one of her villagers, Babeseed, ran into her hut, shivering in fear. “Child, what is it?” Sunset asked Babeseed, to which she responded with, “Sunset… the Skull Spiders… they are overrunning everything! What are we gonna do?” Sunset sighed and turned away. “I… I have no idea… without Celestia… I fear we are doomed… “ Sunset looked down at her fire claws only to suddenly remember Celestia’s last words. United, But not One.” Sunset knew what she had to do then. She turned to Babeseed saying, “I will be gone for awhile. I must get the other protectors to the Temple of Time!” Babeseed nodded as Sunset grabbed her weapons and ran out the door towards the Jungle. The sun was setting as the six protectors walked towards the Temple of Time. “Are you sure this will work?” Bulk asked as they entered its doors. “It has to. It just has to.” Sunset said as she placed her weapon down in her spot in the temple. The other protectors nodded and placed their weapons in their spots as well. They then grabbed each other’s hands and began to recite the Prophesy of Heroes. A few seconds after they finished, a giant beam of light blasted out of the center of the temple, up towards the heavens, and beyond. Sunset looked up, smiling for the first time in months. “Now… We wait…” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: THE ARRIVAL //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: THE ARRIVAL Sunset stepped out of her hut wearing an old tattered cloak and looked up towards the sky, and let out a gasp. Six shooting stars of different colors had begun flying down towards the island of Okoto. Sunset couldn’t believe it. It had been an entire week since she and the other protectors had been to the Temple of Time asking for help from the stars above. Sunset stared in awe as one of the shooting stars, glowing purple with a red fire trail following it, fell towards the outskirts of her village, landing with a mighty boom. Sunset grabbed her gear and began walking towards where the star landed. The entire village woke up from the crash and followed their protector, curiosity over-taking them. After walking a distance, Sunset soon located the impact sight. She sighed, not seeing a brave warrior anywhere, and began to just pass the impact as just a random meteor, until suddenly a hand burst from the hole, grabbing onto the ledge and began pulling itself out. Sunset and the village watched in awe as the Newcomer stood before them. The being before them was purple, but wearing solid red and orange armor, giving off a sort of fire like vib. It also wore golden armor, looking like they were one tough warrior to come across. Her chest had a symbol on it, showing a massive star with five other smaller stars around it. It had two medium sized swords sticking out of its back, like flames, and was holding onto a massive board with flames in the middle. It had long dark blue hair flowing out from behind its head, with a light and dark purple streaks going down it. Speaking of its head, it wore a mask over it, shaped kinda like a helmet, with a mouth piece to speak out of. Finally, she spoke. “Ughhh… Where am I? Who are you?” The mighty warrior asked looking down at the protector and the villagers. Sunset stepped forward and replied, “I am Sunset Shimmer, the Protector of the village of Fire, and these are my people,” Sunset gestured towards the fellow villagers behind her as they all stared in awe at the Newcomer, “As to where you are, you are on the Island of Okoto. May I ask mighty warrior, who are you?” The warrior blinked and thought to herself, not seeming to be able to remember much about her. However, a name did come to her mind as she thought. ‘Toa Twilight Sparkle’ “My… Name, I believe, is Toa Twilight Sparkle.” She said as Sunset nodded her head upon hearing the word ‘Toa’, which stood for mighty warriors of elemental powers. “Well then Toa Twilight, it was I and my fellow protectors who have summoned you and others like you to our island to save us.” Twilight scratched her mask in confusion. “Save you? From what?” Twilight asked as Sunset suddenly released a small ball of energy from her hand, showing images of what has happened to Okoto within the past few months to the mighty Toa. “A terrible evil is rising, and the six of you are here to defeat it!” Twilight looked towards the villagers, her head holding many, many questions, but had no memory of just who she was besides her name, and what she was capable of. “Me?” She asked. “What do I know about defeating evil?” Sunset then showed a picture of the island to Twilight, showing six masks as well, one of them resembling her own. “It has been foretold that one day, six Warriors, the Toa, would arrive and go on a quest for Golden Masks, to unlock each of their great powers.” Twilight looked at Sunset in confusion and asked, “How do you kno-“ Suddenly the crowd gasps confusing her even more. “Was it something I said?” Twilight asked not knowing that she had been watched this whole time from the bushes behind her. Sunset pointed to them and shouted, “NO! ITS THOSE SKULL SPIDERS BEHIND YOU!” Suddenly four Skull Spiders jumped from behind her and lunged towards her. Twilight raised her board as she was about to turn around, only for one of the spiders to slam into it. Twilight begun spinning around in confusion as her board kept taking out each of the Spiders. Twilight turned back towards the villagers as the final Skull Spider lunged for her. Twilight raised her hand about to ask a question, only for the last one to slam right into it. Twilight stared in confusion at what she just did, then towards the villagers as they began bowing towards her. “Do you still doubt your power Twilight?” Sunset asked as she stepped towards Twilight. “Come. I am sure the rest of your team has landed in their own villages, and the other Protectors have spoken to them. We shall meet with them at the Temple of Time to set up a plan. Twilight and Sunset entered the Temple of Time and walked towards the center as ten other beings entered the Temple as well. Twilight stepped forward as the other five Toa stepped into the main chamber. Twilight looked at them curiously. She turned to her right to see a Toa that was Cyan Blue underneath her armor. Her armor itself was green and silver, with a symbol like Twilights on her chest, showing a cloud with a rainbow thunderbolt coming out of it. She wielded two silver swords and had massive wings attached to her arms. Like Twilight, she had long hair flowing from her head, but multiple colors. Her mask was green as well, and kinda had a smile to it, like she was some sort of goofball. She turned towards Twilight, putting her swords away and stuck out her hand. “Greetings! I am Rainbow Dash, Toa-Hero of Jungle!” She said with a smile as Twilight took her hand and shook it. “I am Twilight Sparkle, Toa of Fire.” Twilight gave a small smile as she turned to the next Toa next to Rainbow Dash. This one underneath her armor was yellow. Her armor was blue and silver, with a symbol of three butterflies on her chest. Her feet had flippers on them, making Twilight think she must be a great swimmer. Her weapon was a giant trident, and her hair was long and pink. Her mask was solid blue, but instead of a mouth piece like her and Rainbow, this one had her mouth covered up, with tiny holes in it to breath. She set her trident down and walked over to Twilight and slowly stuck out her hand, clearly afraid. “I-I am… Fl-Fluttershy… The, uh… Toa of Water…” She said nervously. Twilight gently took her hand and shook it smiling. “It is nice to meet you Fluttershy.” Fluttershy smiled as Twilight turned towards the next Toa. This one gave off a cold feeling in more ways than one. Her body was solid white, with white, silver, and Gold armor covering her. Like the others and herself, this ones armor looked like it was built for places that were extremely cold. Her chest armor shown a picture of three diamonds. She wielded a massive spear in one hand, and in the other a shield to protect herself with. Her hair was long, purple, and curly, like the harsh cold winds blew it that way. Her mask was the strangest out of everyones. One side looked normal like everyones, but the other side had three eye holes. She walked over to Twilight and nodded to her. “Rarity. Toa of Ice.” She said with a tone that said she didn’t want to be here. Twilight nodded and turned towards the next Toa. This one was the oddest of them all with her armor. She was light orange underneath it, with her armor brown and orange. However, it seemed like she couldn’t make up her mind on where to place it, as her armor was all over the place on her. Her chest showed what appeared to be three apples. Her feet had massive shoes under them, to keep her from sinking in sand. She had a small dagger in her right hand as her main weapon. Her hair was long, blond and shown no amount of care as it just hung there. Her mask was smaller than the rest, and quite bulky, with it being solid brown. She walked towards Twilight putting her weapon away and over a hand shake. “I am Applejack, Toa of Stone.” Twilight shook it nodding and turned to the final Toa. This one was big, like REALLY big. She looked like she could tear herself through anything. Underneath her armor, she was pink, which really threw off her armor as it was solid black, silver, and gold. Her chest armor showed what appeared to be three balloons on it, two blue, and one yellow. She didn’t seem to be wielding any weapons, but rather, her own hands were the weapons as they were two massive digging claws. Her hair was a darker shade of pink, and flat, due to all the dirt in her hair. Her mask was a lot bigger as well, colored solid black. She smiled and walked over to Twilight and shook her hand happily. “HI! IM PINKIE PIE! IM THE TOA OF EARTH!” Twilight let go of Pinkie as her arm was still shaking as Pinkie had an innocent smile on her mask. The Toa all turned towards the Protectors after they introduced each other and Twilight asked, “So whats the plan?” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: APPLEJACK: MASTER OF STONE //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: APPLEJACK: MASTER OF STONE “I am Applejack. My Will is Solid Rock. I am here to battle evil. Its is my destiny to claim my Golden Mask of Power… AND BECOME… THE MASTER… OF STONE!!!” The sun was burning down on Applejack, as she and the Protector of Stone, Big Mac, were making their way through the desert of Okoto. Applejack grunted as she stubbed her foot on a boulder. “Stupid Boulder…” She said as she reared her leg back and swung to teach it a lesson. Big Mac watched as the boulder went sailing over the desert as Applejack stood there, shocked at her own strength. Big Mac chuckled and walked over to the Toa. “You must be careful, you have yet to realize the full potential of your power yet, but you will.” Applejack nodded and continued after the Protector as they made their way over to a canyon. “So tell me, what exactly are we looking for?” Applejack asked as they stopped over the cliff. Big Mac turned to her and shook his head. “You forgot the clue from the Temple of Time already?” Applejack sighed as she remembered back to meeting her fellow Toa. “So, whats the plan?” Twilight asked as her and the other Toa turned towards the Protectors. Sunset stepped forward and waved her hand as an image of the Island appeared. “It was said that one day, Six heroes, The Toa, would arrive on Okoto, and gather the six sacred Golden Masks, to defeat evil, Awaken the Mask Maker, and save the Island! However, nobody but Celestia knew the locations of the Golden Masks.” She said hanging her head in defeat. “Well, she MUST of left some clues as to where the locations of the masks might be, in case she was no longer with us to give us directions!” Rainbow said as she leaned on her swords. Sunset turned to the other Protectors who nodded in agreement. Maud stepped forward and replied, “Perhaps she did… Look!” Maud then pointed up towards the walls of the Temple as the symbols began to glow. The group looked up in amazement as words began to form. ‘To find the Golden Mask of Stone, one must locate the gorge in the endless desert. To gain the Golden Mask of Ice, one shall brave the harshest blizzard. To obtain the Golden Mask of Jungle, one will find it hugged by thorny vines. To locate the Golden Mask of Water, one will locate it in the deepest part of the ocean. To find the Golden Mask of Earth, one will need to scale an underground mountain. To receive the Golden Mask of Fire, one must find a way to cross molten lava. Do all this, and these masks will become yours.’ Applejack looked at Big Mac and sighed. “I know were meant to cross this here gorge, but exactly what are we looking for? A random rock that has the Mask just floating over it? A temple filled with traps?” Big Mac chuckled and slid down the side of the cliff. “If asking questions was your power, youd be invincible.” Applejack groaned and slid after him. Big Mac landed on rock and looked both ways. “We should go that way.” He said as he pointed left. “I sense a great power coming from over there.” Applejack nodded and stepped forward. Big Mac followed, only to stop. Applejack soon turned around to find her companion was stuck in the sand. “Uh… A little help?” Big Mac asked as Applejack walked back over and pulled him out of the ground and over her shoulders. “How come you were sinking, but Im not?” Applejack asked as she turned around to continue their trip. “Probably due to your sand shoes your wearing.” He said as Applejack looked down at her feet. “I guess so.” She said. Applejack set down Big Mac as they neared an ancient temple. “Looks like the place has been deserted for awhile…” Applejack said. Big Mac nodded and looked around. “Then you better hurry! Before the Skull Spiders attack!” he said. Applejack stood up and made her way towards the temple. She soon stomped into the entrance and looked around. It was quiet… Too Quiet… Applejack frowned and walked into the Temple. She saw the Golden Mask at the end of the Temple and sighed at the easy task ahead of her. She suddenly heard a scuttling sound and looked up. She groaned as she saw hundreds of Skull Spiders making their way towards her. Growling, she clenched her fists and channeled her power. She soon found herself floating in the air. She looked down seeing she was inside a tornado. She smirked under her mask and began flying towards the Golden Mask. The Skull Spiders jumped at her, only for the Tornado to knock them away from her. She soon found herself in front of the Golden Mask of Stone. She could feel the power pulsing from it. She removed her own mask and grabbed the Golden Mask, placing it over her face… MEANWHILE “With an army that large, I could win for sure… But why stop there?” A Mysterious Snake said as he punched in a few more buttons and soon got a picture of Okoto. “Hmm… I wonder what kind of evil lives here…” he said as he punched in another message. However, before he could finish, the screen once again activated, showing just a pair of red eyes. “Don’t bother with your message you worm… You grabbed my attention the moment you spied on this island…” Nightmare Moon said as the creature turned towards it, smiling. “Very well then. I am Lyric of Dimension SB2WWC5. I am here to make a most excellent offer.” Nightmare nodded, allowing Lyric to continue. “I am offering you a chance to join me and my new associate Galvatron in CONQURING the Multiverse!” Nightmare Moon blinked and chuckled darkly. “A chance at ruling over more than just this island? How could I not accept? With My skill of creating armies, I know I will make an excellent addition to your army. As long as my actions keep my sister Celestia asleep for all eternity.” She said as Lyric smiled hissing. “Then I shall contact you when I re-obtain the power I need to break a hole in reality to bring you here.” The Dark one smiled, and nodded. “Very well… Nightmare Moon out.” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: RAINBOW DASH: MASTER OF JUNGLE //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: RAINBOW DASH: MASTER OF JUNGLE “I am Rainbow Dash. I roam the sky. I am here to battle evil. It is my destiny to claim my Golden Mask of Power, and become… The Master of Jungle!” “WHEEE!!!” Rainbow Dash screamed as she swung around the deep jungle of Okoto, with Daring Do jumping from tree branch to tree branch. “Slow down Rainbow! This area of the jungle is highly unstable and dangerous!” Daring Do shouted. “Maybe… But this is just WAY to much fun to care!” Rainbow said as she pulled one of her swords out and slashed aside an obstacle in her way. She then reached out to grab a nearby vine, only to notice that it was attached to the debris she cut down. “Oops!” She yelled as she fell, only for Daring Do to grab her hand. “What did I tell you?” She asked struggling to hold the heavy Toa up. Rainbow sighed in relief and grabbed a nearby vine, checking its strength and let go of Daring Do. “Right… Thanks for the save. So how far away do you think is the shrine?” she asked. Daring Do swung ahead and landed on a firm branch before looking forward. “It should be just ahead. But we must hurry Toa… I fear your near fall may have alerted the Skull Spiders.” She said as Rainbow turned around and gasped. She saw them. Hundreds apon THOUSANDS were skittering their way towards them. Rainbow turned around and swung forward, before jumping off the vine and grabbing a sturdy branch, and swung around it building momentum before letting go and summoning her arm wings to glide her over near the shrine. She landed only for a couple of  Skull Spiders to land in her way. She frowned before pulling her swords out and slashing at them. She managed to knock them away, only to notice that the army was catching up to her. She then noticed Daring Do holding her Crossbow out and firing at them. “Hurry! Ill hold them off! Get the mask!” She yelled. Rainbow nodded and jumped onto a thorny vine and grinded all the way around it. The Skull Spiders leaped at her, but she managed to dodge them as she reached the shrine. She reached out and grabbed the mask, throwing her mask to the side and placing the golden one on her face… //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: FLUTTERSHY: MASTER OF WATER //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 7: FLUTTERSHY: MASTER OF WATER “I am Fluttershy… My courage is as deep as the ocean. I am here to battle evil. It is my destiny to claim my Golden Mask of Power… And become… The Master of Water… I hope…” “Are… Are you sure we have to do this?” Fluttershy asked as she and Zecora swam through the deep ocean of Okoto. “Fighting I mean… Isnt there another way to stop the Skull Spiders? Maybe befriend them?” Zecora swam up to her shaking her head. “As much as I would wish that to be, That is not the case Toa Fluttershy… The Skull Spiders are pure evil and will stop at nothing to destroy us…” she said before swimming ahead. Fluttershy sighed gripping her trident and swam after Zecora. “No… there has to be another way…” she said to herself. “There!” Zecora shouted pointing ahead. “The Golden Mask of Water is just ahead!” she said as Fluttershy swam by her. Fluttershy smiled glad this would be over soon. She then looked down and saw the ground split open letting loose hundreds of Skull Spiders. Fluttershy swam forward only to stop just a few feet before them. “Skull Spiders, I mean you no harm! I would to pass by without any trouble… If that’s ok with you that is.” The Skull Spiders turned towards one another in confusion. Was this REALLY one of the legendary warriors? They turned back towards the Toa and hissed, swimming with incredible speed towards her. Fluttershy gasped swimming back a few feet only for Zecora to swim ahead of her, using her blaster to shoot the spiders back. “Now do you see? The Skull Spiders are creations of Nightmare Moon herself… They exist just to destroy…” Fluttershy sighed. “I just… wanted to avoid fighting… but… Fighting seems to be the only way…” she said before gripping her trident tighter. Then, suddenly, she took off like a bullet! She swam hard, and fast, knocking back Skull Spiders by the hundreds as she spun her own body around creating a mini tornado around her. Finally she reached the Golden Mask of Water. She reached up and removed her mask from her face before placing the Golden one on it… //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 8: PINKIE PIE: MASTER OF EARTH //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 8: PINKIE PIE: MASTER OF EARTH “I am Pinkie Pie. I always stand firm. I am here to battle evil. It is my destiny to claim my Golden Mask of Power… And Become… The Master of Earth!” Pinkie Pie walked through the dense caves of the world below Okoto following her new friend, Maud Pie. Maud was leading Pinkie Pie to their village, Onu-Koro. Nobody knew where the village names came from, but nobody felt wise to change them either. “Why exactly are we heading to the village Maud?” Pinkie Pie asked ducking under the stalagmites over her head. “There is a hidden passage on the other side of Onu-Koro that will lead us to the ‘Underground Mountain’ the hint at the temple said. Hopefully the Skull Spiders haven’t found it yet.” Maud said as the stepped into the village. “It looks so peaceful… So Wonderful.” Pinkie said looking around. Maud watched as she ran around, going in and out of shops, sticking her head into the villagers homes and gave a soft chuckle. Who would of thought the Toa of Earth would be so full of energy? “Toa Pinkie Pie!” she said as the Toa was running by with bags full of rock candy. “Yes?” she asked innocently. “Your mission?” Maud asked calmly as Pinkie Pie blinked for a few seconds before remembering. “OH YEA!” she went as she dropped her bags. “Lets get going!” she said with glee as Maud held back a chuckle and led her through the village. “It should be on the other side of this door.” Maud said turning to Pinkie Pie only to see her with more bags. She stood there struggling to understand how she found time to get more stuff, then shrugged and turned around. “You think you can get us in?” Maud asked. Pinkie Pie nodded and stepped forward. She reached forward with her massive claws and pulled the doors open. “There we go!” Pinkie said with glee and stepped forward. However, she didn’t see a pathway, but a Waterfall made of rock and dust instead of water. “Isnt this kind of dangerous?” Pinkie asked. Maud stepped forward and nodded. “I never said it was a safe shortcut. Just that it was a shortcut.” She said, before running off the edge, hoping from boulder to boulder until she reached the bottom. Pinkie stood there for a few seconds before grinning and following. She jumped onto the first boulder she could, riding it all the way down like a surfer. She skidded to a stop beside Maud and smiled wide. “THAT WAS AWESOME!!! Can we go again?” Pinkie pouched at the wall, watching as it collapsed from the force. She stepped forward, with Maud behind her. “There!” she said pointing ahead. Pinkie Pie looked as she spotted a mountain so massive under the ground. At the top was the Golden Mask. She looked below and saw crystals, floating towards the mountain. “This is almost too easy.” Pinkie said, only to suddenly hear the sound of Skull Spiders crawling their way. “That’s more like it!” She said running forward. She jumped at the first crystal, landing on it, not catching her balance that well. She saw below that there were more crystals, all razer sharp! She looked forward abit and saw that there were more Skull Spiders crawling up the mountain! She clenched her fists tightly and begun to leap from crystal to crystal, before finally landing on the mountain. She slammed her claws into it, and begun the climb. She climbed quickly, but not enough. Skull Spiders begun to crawl over her. She clenched her teeth as she continued the climb, before finally reaching the mask. She grabbed for it, only for the Skull Spiders to finally cover her… //-------------------------------------------------------// CHAPTER 9: TWILIGHT SPARKLE: MASTER OF FIRE //-------------------------------------------------------// CHAPTER 9: TWILIGHT SPARKLE: MASTER OF FIRE “I am Twilight Sparkle. My Strength… Will burn away the enemy. I am here to battle evil. It is my destiny to claim my Golden Mask of Power… AND BECOME… THE MASTER… OF… FIRE!!!” “This is Okoto’s greatest volcano Twilight… You are close now…” Sunset said as they stared at what appeared to be a temple built into the volcano itself. Twilight nodded and started heading for the temple with Sunset following her. However, she soon saw that she was gonna have to climb her way up the mountain itself in order to reach the entrance. Twilight bent over and told Sunset, “Hop on!” Sunset obeyed, grabbing onto her swords. Twilight stood back up and began the treacherous climb. It took her many hours, more so with the added weight of Sunset, but Twilight soon reached the entrance, pausing only to let Sunset hop off. “There is no time to waste Twilight… I fear we might not be alone…” Twilight looked around and saw nothing, only to stare back at Sunset. “Just cause I said it don’t mean they have to appear just yet” She said in defense. “Fine.” Twilight said and they began heading inside. As they stepped inside, they heard strange sounds. They turned around and spotted “SKULL SPIDERS” Sunset yelled as Twilight grabbed one of her swords from her back to fight. “No Twilight! Get the mask before they do! Ill hold them back!” Sunset shouted jumping in front as her shoulder cannon aimed and began firing at them. Twilight nodded and ran inside, only to stop at what she saw. The mask was there, sitting in the middle of a pool of lava. Looking at her Lava board, she smiled behind her mask and leaped off the ledge, throwing her board beneath her. “UGH!!! I… CAN FEEL…. THE POWER!!!” Twilight shouted as she surfed towards the mask. She leaped at the mask, landing on the small island it floated over, and grabbed it. Little did she know that at this very moment, the rest of the Toa had reached their Golden Masks, and were about to put them on. Sunset, having been pushed back towards the volcano by the Skull Spiders, turned and saw Twilight put the mask on, an explosion of power bursting out as fire seemed to burn from her very body! “RUN TWILIGHT!” Sunset screamed as Skull Spiders began to cover her. “ITS TO LATE FOR ME!” she screamed before being fully covered. Twilight however didn’t believe that for a second, grabbing her board and landing into the lava, only to make it shoot her back up. “NO! IT IS NOT TO LATE!!! FOR I AM… THE MASTER OF FIRE!!! UUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGH!” Twilight yelled, landing next to Sunset, the landing scared the spiders off her as she grabbed her lava board, splitting it apart into two grand swords, and let a massive wave of fire burst from her, eliminating every skull spider there! Applejack placed the mask onto her face, feeling her new power fill her. She looked down and saw Big Mac stabbing at an army of Skull Scorpions as hundreds of them crawled towards them. Applejack leaped forward, landing in front of Big Mac having taken her stone shoes off to form Boomerangs and threw one at them, having a massive sandstorm form in its wake! Rarity jumped out from the shrine, her Golden Mask filling her with power as she turned her shield into a pair of skis and rode the staircase down, knocking any Skull Spiders that got in her way off it as she landed in front of Bulk, her impact shattering the ice barrier she made allowing the spiders to get through. However, Rarity wanted this as she threw up a shield at the last moment, knocking the spiders back! Rainbow Dash jumped from the vine, her new Golden Mask giving her strength as her wings suddenly detached, combining to her twin swords to become massive axes as she landed in front of Daring Do, swiping at the spiders and waved her axes, causing the jungle itself to attack! Fluttershy placed the mask over her face, and felt as the power filled her. She turned, seeing Zecora being attacked by the Aqua Skull Spiders. Growling, she burst forward creating a whirlpool to gather the spiders up, before rocketing upward, her fins combining to her trident to become a massive axe as she burst from the water, having the spiders scatter! Pinkie Pie exploded from the Skull Spiders as they crawled all over her, her Golden Mask filling her with more energy, to which Maud wasn’t sure if that was a good idea. Pinkie flew towards her, her shovel claws combing to form a massive hammer as she slammed it into the ground, knocking the army back! Twilight and Sunset stood at the edge of the shrine as Twilight relaxed. “I can feel amazing power… I can even hear sounds from really far away!” Twilight said as Sunset turned towards her. “Really? That was never apart of… You must be hearing Celestia the Mask Maker! She is calling out to you!” She said as Twilight put her hand to her head. “Wait… I am seeing something… a city… and a darkness…” Twilight said as Sunset nodded. “The city of the Mask Makers… Toa Twilight… it is time you and the rest of the Toa meet there and continue your destiny.” Twilight looked at her in confusion. “How will I know where to go?” she asked as Sunset chuckled and tapped her mask. “The Masks will guide you! Now hurry! Evil is growing stronger!” //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: THE LEGEND //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue: THE LEGEND A long time ago, on the mythical island of Okoto, all lived in harmony. It was a place of wonders and beautiful landscapes. From the island's elemental forces, two sisters, known as the Mask Makers, created Masks of Power. Each sister had a special mask: Luna owned the Mask of Moonlight and Celestia the Mask of Sunlight. The sisters provided the islanders with many masks but Celestia's were the most treasured. Her sister became envious and forged an evil plan... It was a sacred law that a mask could never contain the power of more than one element, otherwise it would become too strong and dangerous. But Luna wanted to create the most powerful mask of all time: the Mask of Ultimate Power. When Luna put it on, it took control of her, transforming her into Nightmare Moon, and the island began to shake and crumble. Realizing what her sister had done, Celestia managed to knock the mask from Nightmare Moon's face. The shockwave rolled across the land, cursing both sisters into an endless sleep. The masks were scattered across the island, waiting for a time when someone would come looking for them. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: RARITY: MASTER OF ICE //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: RARITY: MASTER OF ICE “I am Rarity… Always Cool. Always Strong. I am here to battle evil! It is my destiny to obtain my Golden Mask of Power… And become… The Master of Ice!” Rarity and Bulk Biceps walked silently through the raging blizzard ahead of them only for Rarity to stop and turn around. “Are you alright back there?” she asked only for Bulk to nod stepping up to her. “Don’t worry Rarity. Weve lived in these conditions for hundreds of years! This is just a day at the beach for me hehe.” He said with a chuckle as he gripped his shield tighter. Rarity nodded and turned around as her mask began to scan the area around for any sign of the temple of the Golden Mask of Ice. She frowned when she found nothing and jabbed her spear into the ground in frustration. Suddenly she felt the ground shake as she saw the ground under Bulk give out and collapse! “RARITY!!!” he screamed as he fell down the mountain. Without thinking, Rarity jumped after him, throwing her shield onto the ground as it split into skis as she landed on them and caught him. “Thank you…” he said as she begun skiing down the mountain before stopping at an ice bridge. Rarity picked up her weapon and scanned the area only to suddenly get a hint of what looked to be a temple in the distance. “That way.” Rarity said pointing towards it before stepping onto the bridge. Bulk Biceps followed close behind, only to watch Rarity step on a bad patch of ice and lose her balance. Rarity stood there for a few seconds hoping he hadn’t saw, only to get up gripping her staff. “I didn’t slip, ok?” she asked before continuing on, while Bulk stood there shaking his head. Rarity stood at the bottom of temple and saw what appeared to be the Golden Mask of Ice at the top of it. “Hurry Rarity, get the mask! Before the Skull Spiders attack!” Bulk said turning around just in time to see said creatures appearing. Rarity nodded and put her staff onto her back before running up the steps to the mask. Bulk pulled out his Ice rod and shield, jabbing at the spiders as they attempted to latch onto him! Rarity saw what was happening as she reached the top, and frowned. Pulling her staff out she pointed it towards a large area of them and blasted at them. Bulk shielded his eyes, only to open them and see a thin Ice wall had appeared, stopping the spiders from getting to him, but it would not last. Rarity needed the Golden Mask to unlock her true power. Rarity turned around and took her mask off and grabbed the Golden Mask placing it onto her face…
