Summer

"It's almost midnight.", I say out loud and then sigh deeply, I lean my head against the barrs of the window, closing my eyes. I can see and feel the grass under my hoofs, the heat of the sun and refreshing, but yet soft summer wind. I'm back at home again as I jump and gallop around this familiar meadow, smelling the flowers that bloom and somepony calling my name, "Sunflower? Where are you, dear?". I look around and see my mom calling after me near our house, I start to gallop towards her but no matter how fast I run I can't reach her, "mom? Mom!" I yell but no use, she's fading away, I can't see her anymore. The darkness surrounds me, drowning me, until there's nothing left. I gasp for air as I snap awake. "I must have dozed off.", I look out of the window again, seeing moon and the stars. I stand up and suddenly my ears twitch, somepony's coming down the hall, I quickly jump on the bed and pull the sheets on top of me, closing my eyes and calming my breath. I hear the door being unlocked and then it makes a creaking noise, "Miss Sunflower?", she asks and I pretend to sleep and then the door creaks again, she locks it again. I open my eyes and listen, she continues her round. I get up and stretch a little, then I go back to the window. My eyes wander around the room lazily, these white walls, floors, that white ceiling. All this white makes me crazy, more than I am already. I remember the day when my parents brought me here like it was yesterday, my parents said goodbye to me with tears in their eyes, I was just a filly, I didn't understand what was going on. My mom said that I would stay here for awhile so the good old doctor can fix me, they tested me many times and the results are still same as always, I saw my parents one last time when they came up here to meet the doctor who had made his diagnosis. I cried when they left me here alone the second time around, I wasn't making improvement, he said to my parents. Month went by and then I received this letter from some lawyer, that my parents were dead and because of mental state and age, they would auction our home to the highest bidder. Of course I didn't take it well, I tried to escape many times, and after every try he would give me more drugs so I would be easier to handle. The drugs were so strong that I lost track of time for months, they made me sleepy so I lived in my nightmares all the time, she would check me three times a day and he visited me once a day. One time I heard them speaking of me, he laughed at me and I quote, "she will stay here the rest of her miserable life!". Should one's doctor ever say that about his/hers patiens? No, never ever. Since then I have planned his doom, now after 20 years, I'm in the prime of my life and he is getting old. This should be easy enough, I laugh out loud as I think of master plan, we shall do it together, my friend.

As the morgning sun paints the white room in gold and yellow, I yawn and then look longfully outside of the window, there are pony's and nurses walking outside. I wish I could be there too, just to step outside and feel the wind, I miss it so much. I hold back tears as my ears twitch, she's coming for the morgning  check up. I keep looking at window as the light brown old mare come's in with a tray, setting it on my bed. "Miss Sunflower, it's medication time.", she says with a hint of pitty in her voice. I slide down on my all hoofs and step infront of her, taking the pills and drinking water after them. She raises her eyebrow and looks at me, "open wide and let me see.". I do as she says, opening my mouth as she looks in it, "and the tongue.". I lift my tongue and as she leans back, I look at her, my mouth hanging open. "Such a good filly you are today.", she says and holds back a laugh. Make her pay for making fun out of us! "Filly? Don't make me laugh you old hag!", raising my voice as she tooks the tray. "Run for the doc, and tell that Miss Sunflower is being mean to you, hah!", she moves to the door and with a creak close's it, then as I hear she locks it and walking down the hall, I took the pills off my cheek and spit them on my hoof, I put them inside the pillow and turn back to the window.

The day slowly, very slowly, turns to afternoon. I lay on my bed and I sigh, looking at the white ceiling. I start to wonder, I'm not suppose to be here, I know that I'm not that crazy. I could manage to live on my own. My eyes lazyly droop, and I almost fall a sleep as I got caught of guard, somepony is behind the door, I hear her voice and somepony elses. It's not a familiar voice, then I hear my name and then the door is being unlocked and with a creak it opens, "Miss Sunflower, you need to come with us now, please.", she says. I roll off the bed and as soon as my hoofs touches the white floor I see this new nurse, she's young, propably close to my age. I can feel how akward she is as my eyes wander around her, her coat is reddish, like red mixed with orange and brown. My eyes look at her long and little curly mane, it has been put up like the all nurses wear their mane, it's color makes a bit confused. Deep brown with light grey stripes, it's surely is odd mix but now as I look at her face, as if I couldn't help myself, her deep green eyes makes me forget the white room and the old hag, even forget him. I can feel my lips moving, it's like I'm not controlling myself anymore. Somepony else, maybe she is controlling my mind and my body. "Miss Sunflower, would you come with us?", Oh my gosh, her voice, it's deep but at the same time so tender, I could simply nod and follow her, as they trotted infront of me. What is happening to me? This is not like me, and what about my plan? My master plan? Wake up and stick to the plan! But my efforts crumbled as she looked at me, smiling warmly. I faintly smiled back and blushed. As we reached the doctors room, I didn't even remember what we were doing here. "You can go in now, I'll wait you here, okay?", the beautiful nurse whispered to me and I couldn't speak up, I just walked in to the doctors room, glancing at her one last time before the door was shut. Okay, remember your plan, slice his throat and escape from the window, the fall will hurt, but you can do it. I shook my head and looked at him, my brows furrowed and I tensed my mucles, ready to attack. "As usual, Miss Sunflower, you haven't made any kind of progress and I don't think it would be a good choise for you to let you move more freely around you, for your safety and the others too.", he said but I didn't listen, I know the drill already, I would stay in that white room the rest of my life, but with the pretty nurse around, it wouldn't be so bad, would it? COME ON! We agreed on this last night, now you see pretty little rump and you'r disappointing me here, we have always beeen together. You and me, against the world, this is our chance! For Celestia's sake do it already, then we will be free and you can find a some other pretty mare... Other mare? No, it can't be like that, I wan't her! "So, we keep you on the same medication for now, I hope you would start to co-operate with us, then you could begin to move around here more freely, Miss Sunflower.", he said and turned back to his papers, calling the nurses. If I just took my medication and behave myself, I could be more around her, is that simple? I stand up and turn around, opening the door and seeing her face with a smile that lightens up the room. NO!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING IDIOT? YOU ARE RUINING EVERYTHING!!! "Miss Sunflower, what did to doctor say?", she asked with so much warmth in her voice that my legs almost melted, I blushed and whispered, "I keep taking the pills and try to improve my social skills, then I could move outside the room.". She smiled to me and said, "that's wonderful news for you, I can help you with your social skills if you like to?". I nodded smiling, feeling strange warmth coming from the inside of me, was this happiness? I couldn't tell, but the other voice in my head was silent at last. The voice had been a part of me as long as I can remember. "What is your name?", I asked the pretty nurse. She looked at me with a smile on her face, "my name is Summer Sun.". I giggled a bit and then said to Summer, "it's a pleasure to meet you, Summer Sun.".
