The Silver Guardian

Silver Sky was assigned to princess twilight's new castle guard after the tirek incident a year ago. His life changes when a boy crashes into his life and needs someone to look after him. Silver takes up the mantle of taking care of the boy and becomes his legal guardian.

Note: told from either First person POV or Third Person

Chapter 1

Boy Meets Pony world

3rd POV

'How do I end up in these odd situations,' he thought as he stared wailing mass that looked like a tiny hairless minotaur.

'Maybe it's a baby,' he lets the thought sink in 'buck, I'm no good with foals of any kind.'

After welling up his courage he levitates the crying baby closer to him and gives it a tentative look and sniff 'OH CELESTIA' - he moved the baby away from his snout - 'IT STINK' - he casts a filter spell over nose - "No wonder you're crying, I would be upset too if I was sitting in my own filth," he said to the now silent baby.

The baby stared at the silver coated unicorn and tilted his head as if it was confused. "What," said the pony "never seen a pony before?"

he asked the baby. He facehoofed "Right you a baby," he said rubbing his now sore head "I feel like an idiot."

The baby cooed and gave a laugh at the unicorn hurting himself. the pony gives the baby an odd look " Well at least you stopped crying,"

he reaches in to his saddlebag and pulls out blanket and wraps it around the baby "I should take you to the princess, she might know what to do with y-" -PPRLT- the baby giggles as it soil the pony's blanket " Silver Sky what have you gotten yourself into."

Silver's POV

'That was the most embarrassing thing I've had to ask a mare,' after the little poop monster finished his business I asked a random mare that i saw pushing a stroller if she had any spare diapers. She looked at the bundle floating a little away from me and smiled as she gave me a diaper.

I found out the baby was a he the hard way, when his pissed on my face when changing him. What ever he was his kind didn't have a sheath.

Now I'm walking towards Ponyville Castle, why Princess Twilight hasn't named it yet I don't know, to bring the infant to Princess Twilight, from what little knowledge I learned about her since joining her guard I have she might know what this child is, and if it is of this world.

When I enter the throne room The Princess was with her friends, the former Elements of Harmony, discussing matters of little importance to me.

"The castle should be named Castle Awesome," said Rainbow Dash, the former Element of loyalty, " cuz we all know that we're awesome."

"No Dashy it should be called Friendship Castle," said Pinkie Pie, the former Element of Laughter, " cuz we, and all our friends, get a say in what's going on in here."

I muster up my courage and speak, "Um, pardon me ladies," no one heard me over Miss Pie and Dash's disagreement.

"CASTLE AWSOME!" yelled Rainbow Dash.

"FRIENDSHIP CASTLE!" Pinkie yelled Back.

"Um, excuse me?" I said in a louder voice.

"CASTLE AWSOME!"

"FRIENDSHIP CASTLE!"

"CASTLE AWSOME!"

"FRIENDSHIP CASTLE!"

"GIRLS!" yelled Fluttershy, the former Element of Kindness, for shrunk into herself when she had there attention" Um uh, this stallion here is trying to get our attention."

I felt all eyes on me 'great to perfect time for stage fright' I cleared my throat " *Ahem* Princess Twilight, I found something while out by the Everfree Forest that might be of some interest to you."

"Out by the Everfree, what did you find, um," she tries to remember my name but I see from the look on her face she is drawing a blank.

"My name is Silver Sky, Your Highness," I say as I bow my head to her, " I just recently joined your guard and have not had the chance to introduce myself."

"Silver Sky, got it," said Princess Twilight as she appeared to be jotting something down, " so what did you find?"

I brought myself to attention and levitated the bundled blanket to her" I found this baby creature crying out by the forest. I've never seen anything like it."

She takes the bundle into her magic and begins to unwrap the stinky baby creature, *Gasp*.

Twilight's POV

I gasped a what i held in front, " It's human foal," all my friends gave a collective gasp.

"Twi, how do you know it's a human foal?" asked Rainbow Dash, who leaned in to get a closer look.

"Pardon me your Highness, but what is a Human?" asked the guard Silver Sky.

I look at Rainbow Dash to answer her question, "Rainbow, I may have only been twice, but I did get a chance to see what their fouls looked like," I look to the guard, " and to answer you question, its on a need to know basis, but since you found the baby human you have the need to know, but I will explain that later," I look at the human to see it's eye are focused on the guard.

I move it up, I move it down, and every other direction and its eye remained fixed on the guard, 'Interesting,' I thought to myself."It sure seems focused on you from the looks of it."

"He," the guard said.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"It is male, your Highness," he stated once again.

I look at the human then back to the guard, "How can you tell?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

The guard begins to get nervous and rubs the back of his neck, "It's kinda of embarrassing , your Highness," he said looking around at my friends.

"Please, I promise I wont laugh," I said giving him a eager grin.

"Well," he began, " when I had found him, he had soiled himself, and when I thought to bring him to you I didn't want to bring a stinky baby to you. So I had to ask the first mother i saw if she had any diapers. Thankfully she did," He took a breath and continued, "So I took him to the nearest bathroom and cleaned him up and changed his diaper. While doing so I saw what looked like a penis so I figured he was male, he then proceeded to pee all over my face," that last bit made my thoughts stop.

I then heard Rainbow begin to laugh, "PBBBT- BWAHAHAHAHA, A HUMAN FOUL PEED ALL OVER HIS FACE!" she yelled in her laughter.

"A little got in my mouth too," added the guard, shrinking at Rainbow's laughter.

I saw his discomfort and decided to knock my friend on the back of her head, "OW!" she yelled, "you said you wouldn't laugh, nothing about us."

"It's called being polite Rainbow," I scolded her and looked back to the guard, "please continue."

He cleared his throat and began again, "After I cleaned myself up I finished changing it's diaper,then wrapped it up again and the rest is me making my way toward the castle."

"Did you happen to keep the old diaper?" I ask, my curiosity getting the better of me for the second time today.

"Yes, I did so thinking you would need to study it," he stated, "did I assume correct, your Highness?"

I give him a nervous smile, "Yes, you assumed correct, and if I'm going to be talking to you about humans I need you to be less formal, is that okay with you Silver?"

He looks down in thought. He looks at me "I'll try to be the least formal as possible Miss Twilight."

I groan at the formality, "That's better I guess, take a seat and I'll explain humans to you as best as I can," I gather my thoughts and clear my throat, "Ahem, Human are bipedal....."
