Author's Note

Hey guys I know your wanting chapters for my other stories but I got some issues with them. The Last of My Kind I have a bit of writers block on and Blueblood the Assassin I am currently rewriting the next chapter. So if you've got any ideas for them send them to me. That is all.

Chapter 3

Every step I made towards my new home was met with strained grunts of pain. I wasn't in any agonizing pain but I was still very sore from having my dark magic being taken away. For years I had lived with dark magic, breathed it, felt comfort from it that to be without it felt as if I was missing a part of my soul.

'Don't worry about it kiddo its only for a short while.'

'Yeah I know but it still doesn't take away that empty feeling. You know what lets not talk about it and just get home. I still need to figure out how to make the necessary changes for our plans without the help of my dark magic along with figuring out how I'm going to deal with the confrontation with Celestia and the Elements which we both know is coming.'

Sombra hummed in agreement and before I knew it I was standing at the front door of my knew home. It was nothing really special in appearance. It looked like a log cabin only bigger with a brick foundation. Pulling out my key I quickly unlock my door wanting to have a quick look around and figure out what to do in the morning.

Stepping inside I instantly noted how dark it was. Unnaturally dark. Looking back outside I noticed the sun was still pretty high in the sky and the blinds were open so how was no light getting in? I was instantly on guard expecting some kind of attack. Moments later I got my answer when the lights were abruptly turned on along with multiple voices yelling out, "SURPRISE!"

As soon as that happened I lashed out with a blast of magic that was sent sailing towards the back of the room making everypony hit the deck. When everypony finally looked up they turned to where the blast hit and saw a scorch mark that had planted itself right beside the head of some mare who was frozen to her spot and slightly quivering.

'Good thing I managed to change my aim at the last second or I would have melted that mares face off.'

'I blame them for that. I mean how the hell did they even know where you live?'

While I was having my inner conversation with Sombra the pony's seemed to get over their shock and were now partying as if nothing had happened at all. Taking a closer look at my surroundings I spot a banner reading 'WELCOME TO PONYVILLE RISING DUSK!' I didn't even bother to try and question it since it was probably better for my sanity that way. Now I had to figure out how to get these ponies out of my house as quickly as possible.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw the Elements approaching me all with serious looks. Well Fluttershy was actually hiding behind Rarity and Pinkie was just hopping along with a dopey smile on her face. Knowing what was coming I attempt to avoid them by heading to the stairs that hopefully lead to one of the bedrooms.

Just as I was making my way towards the stairs though I found myself cut off by the Element of Loyalty herself. Her rosy red eyes glared at me in an attempt at intimidation. I returned her gaze with one of my own. This had the desired effect of making her flinch back. At that time I found myself cornered by the others.

Looking at the others I try to think of a way out of this without getting violent. Looks like I'll have to try to talk my way out of this then.

"Alright ladies what is it you want?"

"We want to know who you really are," demanded Twilight.

"Listen Princess I told you who I am but just in case you didn't get it the first time I will repeat myself and say a little more. I am Rising Dusk. I've been wandering around the globe for some time studying different forms of magic before finally settling down here in Ponyville. Does that answer your question?"

She turned to the Element of Honesty for conformation.

"He's tellin the truth fur the most part. His name doesn't seem to be completely truthful though."

Damn. I thought telling most of the truth would override that small fib.

"Alright ya got me. Rising Dusk isn't my real name but its the only name I go by now so there is no point in telling you what I was once called. Now if you would be so kind as to get out of my house and leave me the hell alone because I am very tired and just want to go to bed. Oh and take the rest of them with you if you don't mind."

"We are not done with this conversation just yet."

That voice. Most of the time it held a motherly tone to it but now was cold and serious. Not even bothering to look at the speaker I walk towards the refreshments table and pour myself a glass all the while planning how I am going to handle this. During that time I notice everypony else leaving.

"So what brings you to my home Princess."

Turning around I come face to face with Princess Celestia along with her sister Princess Luna with the Elements taking up position slightly behind them.

"For one my student has notified me of a particular stallion who radiates a lot of dark magic. Care to explain why that is?"

"well Princess I have been studying all forms of magic across the world so I think that would include studying dark magic as well wouldn't it? Also last time I checked the study and usage of dark magic was not illegal in Equestria so I don't really see the problem with it."

"It may not be illegal but is severely frowned upon."

"What do I care what you or others think? If I want to do something I am going to damn well do it whether you like it or not."

They were left speechless by my obvious lack of respect. I wasn't going to bend knee to this solar bitch or her socially awkward sister and its best if they learn that early on. Sure this may jeopardize my plans but right now I didn't care. I was going to stick it to this high and mighty bitch one way or another.

"How dare thou speaks to us like that," Luna shouted. Not exactly in the Royal Canterlot voice but still close enough to where my ears ring.

I just shrugged in response and started to sip at my drink that had gone ignored until this moment. All of the mares seemed flustered which was actually pretty funny to me. Except Celestia, she was giving me a calculating look as if she was trying to pry something from me just with her eyes alone.

For a moment I saw her horn flare with magic and before I could brace myself I was struck by a magic bolt. But I instantly noticed that I didn't feel any pain and wondered what the hell did she do to me? I turn towards her ready to demand an answer only to see the shocked expressions on all of their faces especially Twilights and Celestia's.

"What the hell did you do to me Celestia?"

"Take a look for yourself, Setting Dawn."

Wait, what? How did she know it was me!?

She then conjured a mirror before me and I could see exactly what she had done. She had cast a spell that had revealed what I used to look like before I received my dark magic. Thankfully it was just an illusion spell so with a flare of my own magic I broke it and returned to my original appearance.

"Yeah so what now you know who I am. This doesn't change the fact I want you to get out and leave me alone."

"B-b-but how? I thought you were dead," stuttered Twilight. Real fucking original.

"Well as you can plainly see I am not dead. Now will you please just get the hell out of my house!?"

None of them moved though and I was starting to get really pissed off. It was weird that Sombra hadn't spoken up at all during this time but I didn't question it.

"But where have you been all of these years?"

Alright now I can't hold it anymore. My patience was strained from the moment the Element's confronted me and now it just snapped.

"Where have I been? Well since Celestia threw me out I've just been traveling around learning as much magic as possible. I dare say I know more forms of magic than you could ever hope to learn 'sister'. Now I am done talking so just leave I don't want to see any of you. Especially you two." At this I gestured towards Twilight and Celestia.

They wordlessly left with Celestia and Twilight casting me sorrowful glances. I didn't care how they felt though, all I was thinking about now was how much harder it would make my plans now that they know who exactly I am. Celestia will probably want to keep a close eye on me and Twilight will probably come by asking a lot of questions and actually expect to get an answer from me.

But what's done is done and all I can do now is move forward with as much caution as possible. Right now though I need to get some sleep, hopefully this place still has a bed that is somewhat usable.
