She's What They Need

"Hello? Twilight?" The rainbow maned pony yelled as she walked through the dark corridors of the Alicorn princesses castle. "You haven't come out for days, just checking."

Dash's' legs soon grew weary and she began to fly instead, carefully making sure she didn't hit her head on the chandeliers hanging from the crystal ceiling.

Her ears perked up when she heard a small whimper come from one of the rooms. The lights were on, and there was a small shadow silhouetted in the light.

"....Spike? Is that you?" Rainbow Dash stared down at the small dragon slumped down in a corner next to a fireplace. "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah.." The dragon sniffled, wiping away his tears. "Are you here to see Twilight?"

"Well, yeah. Rarity said I should check up on her." Rainbow Dash groaned in annoyance as she thought of the unicorn commanding her to do her errands.

"Well, I'm sorry. But I haven't seen Twilight either." Spike sighed, staring down at his feet. "You could try to get to her, but her door is locked."

"Thanks, Spike." Rainbow Dash rubbed the dragon on the head before flying down the hall.

"Just be careful, okay....?" Spike yawned as he fell into a deep sleep.

"Hey, Twi? You in there?" Rainbow Dash bashed the door and waited for a response. "...Hellooooo? You there?" No answer. Rainbow sighed, giving the door another knock. "Did you fall asleep or something?"

As she was about to give up and fly away to deliver her news to Rarity and the others, the door slowly opened with a sickening creaking noise.

Rainbow Dash spun around and gently walked towards the door, pushing it aside. At first she was blinded by the sudden light, since most of the other light she had seen before was moonlight or small lamps. "Geez, turn off the brights next time, okay?" She snarled as she covered her eyes.

"Rainbow Dash......h-help....." Rainbow Dash's ears fell down as she saw her friend lying on the floor.

"Hey, Twilight." She whispered, getting closer to her. "Are you o--" Rainbow Dash screamed as she felt herself get pushed back by an invisible force that prevented her from getting to Twilight.

As she slowly opened her eyes again, her mind grew flat as she saw some sort of creature standing in front of her. And it didn't look happy to see her.

"Is this your friend?" The creature smiled as she turned towards Twilight.

"G-Get away from her you mo-Gah!" Twilight screamed in pain as she felt her spine twist.

"Your name is Rainbow Dash, isn't it?" It asked, continuing as Twilight screamed in agony.

Rainbow Dash just stood still as she tried to speak. She had never really experienced fear in her life. Sure, there had been with losing and battling other creatures...But this one was different. Her legs and wings were completely numb, so she couldn't move.

"....Y-Yes..." She eventually squeaked out, trying to fold her ears to stop her from hearing Twilight's blood-curdling screams.

"Oh, that's great. The Dragon Killer told me all about you." Rainbow Dash froze again. Somepony killed a dragon?! She wasn't sure if even the Elements had that power.

"Who....killed a dragon? T-That's impossible!" She blurted out as a million questions rushed through her head.

"Are you really sure you want to know the same man that killed a dragon dead on the spot for me? I don't think he's going to appreciate such a....lower lifeform speaking to him.." the creature snarled.

"WHAT?! Lower lifeform? I'll show that--" Rainbow Dash was cut off as the creature was thrown passed her back into the corridor. She looked over to see an exhausted Twilight with her horn glowing as she slowly collapsed to the ground again.

"Twilight! Are you okay?" Rainbow Dash yelled as she ran over to the lavender Alicorn. She let out a small squeal as she felt her bones to slowly move apart.

"Don't get near her." The creature yelled, grabbing Rainbow Dash and flinging her into Twilight's desk, sending papers and worksheets everywhere.

As Rainbow Dash began to feel herself pass out, the creature grabbed her again, and held her next to her as she slowly got closer to Twilight, who was still struggling to stand up.

"Your friend cannot be saved, I'm afraid..." Rainbow Dash flinched as she began to hear the voices inside her head. "I'm afraid she's going to be servant of him soon." As Rainbow Dash struggled to free herself from the creatures grip, several images flashed before her face.

She attempted to calm down so she could see them more clearly. She gritted her teeth as the images became clearer.

"But, there is one way you could save her."

Rainbow Dash gasped as she saw a blurry image of Twilight standing in front of a large figure. Was that the dragon slayer?

"But it will be nearly impossible."

Rainbow Dash watched as the next image became clear. It was Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. Fluttershy had a dark pink shadow above her, Pinkie Pie had a blue shadow above her and Applejack had a darker orange shadow above her. But something seemed off. While the shadows behind Pinkie and Fluttershy were shown around the same as Applejack's....Something felt off. Applejack's shadow was more distorted. She tried to focus it out, but she couldn't make it any clearer.

"I'm afraid by the time your back she'll be too corrupted to break free."

The last image, slowly but steadily appeared in front of her vision. Two black figures stood near each other. One was lying down, and the other was standing up. But then Dash realized something. The second figure was lying down in a weird limp position. ....It looked like a dragon. The other stood above the dragon with a look of horror on its face. But, as Rainbow Dash thought she had seen it all, she watched in horror as a another figure came in, and the creature standing above the dragon suddenly switched from looking horrified to looking like the pony that escaped from the hospital when she tried to steal that book.

"Don't you understand, Rainbow Dash?"

Rainbow Dash watched as the creatures expressions became scratched between two sides. One was the horrified expression it had before, but the right side....was a weird face. Not only had its face changed, but the entire side of its face had just....burst into some weird sort of hair.  Then Rainbow realized. It was the same face as the creature that had attacked Twilight.

"The Dragon Slayer is going to destroy everything."

Rainbow Dash gasped for air as she felt herself snap back to reality to see herself flung to the other side of the room, under a bookcase. The creature was standing above Twilight, as she lie unconscious on the floor. She wanted to shout, but her body was far too exhausted to move. The last thing Rainbow Dash saw before she drifted off was Twilight's body slowly rising up again. 'She's going to win. No monster is going to break her.'

"And there is nothing you can do to stop him."
