Chapter 1 Young Travellers
It was a lovely day in Equestria, the skies were clean, overall it's a pleasent day for a nice walk.
The birds were singing cheerfully, while the small animals walked around happily.
Meanwhile, in the middle of the woods, two ponies cross between the small but very green trees.
"You seem really happy today, brother!" - the white and blue pony said.
"Really? I guess you're right." - the red and black pony nodded.
The white was walking, while his brother was flying, as usual, he always prefer to make use of his wings.
The woods was coming to an end.
"The end of woods is close, I can see it!" - the flying pony said.
They finally exit the woods. Both ponies seem pretty much the same, both had wing and horns.
Their manes are different, the white stallion had two colours, a darker and a light blue, while is body was completely white with some blue strips. His brother was the opposite side of him, his body was purely dark also with red strips. The mane was red and a bit of purple.
The cutie marks were similar, the white pony had a blue crystal, while his brother was purple crystal broken in tree pieces.
Their names were the same thing, the white one was Crystal Light and the black one was Crystal Shard.
"I'm feeling tired, can we stop for now?" - the white pony asked.
His brother stopped flying, looking at him.
"Already? But we just started..." - he growled, not looking very happy. "C'mon, I'll help!" - he continued. He turned back getting behind his brother.
"What are you doing Shard?" - asking, when he was suddenly felt being pushed.
"I'm helping you, what do you thing?"
It didn't last long until he decided to stop.
"Never mind!" - he said while stretching his wings once more, and he flew off.
His were eyes were closed, probably he was thinking, was usual, he enjoyed feeling the wind on his face.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the proper moment. He was going straight into a tree.
"Ah, Shard?" - Light replied.
"Not now Light..., i'm thinking" - he growled, he hated being disturbed while thinking.
"So stubborn..." - he said to himself. "Watch for th..."
It was too late, he finally found the tree. He banged the tree with the front of his face.
He groaned in pain for a few seconds.
"I tried to warned you about the tree..." - releasing a huge laugh. He really was a cheerful pony with a good sense of humor.
Near by, there was a lake. The water was completely clean, Shard got close to the water, he lowered his head putting his nose in the fresh water. He felt the pain disappearing. He looked behind him, his brother was lying on the grass continuing to laugh.
He growled to himself. "Continue laughing brother, I'll have my payback." - while looking at the water with a grin on his face.
He looked at his brother, with his horn glowing.
Light felt being lifted up from the grass, hovering now the lake. If there was one thing that Light didn't liked, was water, except when having a nice warm bath. Shard knew well about this.
"What are you doing? Let me go!" - he ordered. After he realized that was a bad idea, it was too late.
"If you say so brother." - he said with a grin on his face. The horn stopped glowing. The next sound was a huge splash.
Light got out of the water shaking his body.
"Thanks, brother." - he said with an ironic tone on his voice.
Suddenly, a water ball hit Shard right on his face. Shard shook his head.
"You're welcome! Now let's move."
The sky was completely blue, not one single cloud in sight. It felt really quiet, when, suddenly they saw a blue pegasi cleaning some of the clouds.
Her mane was a rainbow. She flew very fast. The two brothers were impressed by the show.
"Impressive!" - Light said.
Shard just nodded looking at the blue pegasi mare.
A few meters, they spot a town. Light's belly growled. Shard was also getting tired.
The sun was setting on the horizon, nighttime was coming.
"Time for a break!"
"Yep!" - Shard nodded.
They walk toward the town while, the sun was setting.
Luna's moon was rising when they arrived. There was a sign saying: "Welcome to Ponyville".
They looked at each other, and them continued walking.
"We need to find a place to stay." - Light said.
The village was small. Some buildings look like the same. One of the buildings was a tree. There was a logo. A book.
"Interesting!" - Light thought. Light liked reading books about spells and enchantments. "Tomorrow I'll check it out."
Shard pointed a hoof towards a building, saying hotel in small letters.
"Great, good eyes, brother" - he complimented.
They enter the hotel. Light went to the counter.
"Room for two, please."
The counter looked behind, grabbing a set of keys.
"Here, room twenty two." - the counter said.
"Thank you, let's go Shard."
"Twenty two? That's our lucky number." - he smiled. "Never fails us!"
Finally peace and quiet. Both brothers were tired and hungry.
The meal was on the table, smelled so good. The room had two separate beds.
Light got in bed.
"Ready for tomorrow?" - Shard asked still eating.
"Yeah, I saw something I need to check." - he replied.
Shard was curious.
"Hm?"
"A library!" - he said with an enthusiasm in his voice.
"Whatever!" - Shard hated books, except Daring Do books. He had read all the copies but, like re-read it again.
Shard finally got in bed, while yawning.
Light turned off the lights.
"Good night, Shard." - he said in a sleepy tone.
"Yeah, good night brother..." - he fell asleep almost immediately.
Light looked out through the window, he could see the Moon up in the shining sky.
He felt his eyes getting heavy. finally he was sleeping.
Tomorrow is another day. Who knows what will happen?
