Fly to the Stars and Back
Chapter 2 (Part 3)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterArcane sighs as his ship was on approach. It had been nearly six months but it had felt like it was decades since he was back home.
“Landing area coming up. Welcome to your home…I should bring down the brightness on my viewing systems.” Raider 8 says almost sarcastically.
Arcane ignored his droid partner as he came in for a landing at the military port while wondering if anyone would be there to meet him.
“Okay. Now get out of here because I have to clean up after you.” Raider 8 says as Arcane huffs and grabs his bag as he heads out.
Arcane yawns as he steps out onto the landing port to see that hardly anypony was there. Probably to keep his job a secret still. ‘Not really needed since we took down so many of them…where the heck was the jokers?’ He asks himself as he starts to walk out of the base now.
“Where are you going?” Blitz suddenly asks from the side and makes Arcane jump in place.
Arcane slowly looks to her before smiling a bit. “Hey dad…I was able to have a great time playing the cards.”
Blitz chuckles. “Yeah. I know. I have a copy of the deck.”
Arcane raises an eyebrow now. “Where were the joker cards anyway?”
“Reserved for a new target we previously didn’t know about.” Blitz informs.
“Oh…so…did mom stop crying yet?” Arcane asks almost chuckling.
Blitz holds a hoof up and moves it side to side. “Eh…”
Arcane sighs. “Fine. I’ll go see mom and the others.” He says walking off now.
“I thought I smelled you.” A familiar voice says.
Arcane blinks and looks behind him and sees Vinyl standing there. “Uh…hey, mom. I’m just about to head back home to see everypony.”
“Oh, who is a good boy?” Vinyl asks ruffling his mane.
Arcane pushes her hoof off. “Mom. Seriously?”
“I am my cute little foal.” Vinyl says smiling.
Arcane rolls his eyes and looks around. “Um…anypony else here?”
“I didn’t expect you my rave wife.” Blitz says, letting her know he was there as well.
Vinyl chuckles. “If one of my foals comes back home, you can bet I am coming here to greet them.”
“So what about the other foals?” Blitz asks moving beside her.
“Eh. There are here.” Vinyl says shrugging.
“Oh, you don’t fool me. You love being called mama.” Blitz says smirking.
Vinyl sticks her tongue out at him. “Shut up.”
“No.” Blitz says being cheekily as Arcane smiles as he was no longer the subject of Vinyl.
Arcane sighs as he walks off again and heads back to the castle. On the way there, he notices how the base has changed. Including new buildings and warehouses full of different vehicles and ships. All while the Fallen were training in the training and experiment fields nearby. ‘Huh…I wonder if she is still guarding my door…wonder if the changelings are still?’
“Who is a cute vampire mare?” Blitz suddenly says petting Vinyl in his human form.
Vinyl purrs and leans into his scratching. “That feels so good.”
“Say it.” Blitz says as Arcane stifles a laugh.
“Me. I am the cute vampire.” Vinyl says showing more of her neck in his arms.
“And my wife.” Blitz says turning back and holds her in his hooves.
Vinyl giggles before noticing something. “Aw. He’s gone. I wanted to hug the big boy.”

“You know he is…” Blitz stops as he is suddenly held like a stuffed animal.
“Who’s a cute little commander?” Vinyl teases scratching his head.
“That would be me.” Blitz says smiling looking up to her.
Vinyl giggles and keeps scratching him. “You are so cute.”
“Look who’s talking.” Blitz says.
Vinyl sticks her tongue out at him.
Arcane quickly shuts the door behind him and sighs in relief that he didn’t run into anyone else. “I must have been gone for years.”
“Nope.” A voice sounding like Vinyl says from the ceiling.
“Hey mama Vinyl.” Arcane says looking to up to see Moon hanging from the ceiling. “Moon? What are you doing up there?”
“You know…just…” Moon, the eldest of S. Vinyl’s foal starts.
“Don’t you dare.” Arcane says.
“Hanging around.” Moon smirks finishing, despite her brother.
Arcane groans and facehooves. “I swear. Your jokes are as bad as momma S. Vinyl.”
“Neh.” Moon sticks her tongue out teasingly before letting go of the ceiling and flies down to him and hugs him. “Missed you big bro.”
Arcane smiles and hugs her back. “Missed you too. Where’s everypony else?”
“Here, there, everywhere they want. So when are you bringing home a mare?” She asks.
Arcane groans out loud and looks to the side annoyed. “Seriously. First second back and that’s the first question asked?”
Moon shrugs. “Have to keep mommy informed on what you do.”
Arcane rolls his eyes. “I’m not getting with anypony. And even if I did, I would probably outlive them. It’s not worth it.”
“Uh huh. Should I tell your handler that?” Moon asks freezing him.
“Uh…handler? What handler? I didn’t say handler. Don’t you dare speak a word of this to anypony.” Arcane threatens lowly to her as he gives a glare.
“Neh.” Moon sticks her tongue again at him. “Already done. Momma Pinkie is going to set up your wedding already.”
“Gah!” Arcane yells to the ceiling and sees a few changelings looking at him. “Yo. Go on. Tell mom I’m here. And as for…” He stops as he looks down and sees Moon gone. “Man. I hate it when they all do that.”
“My prince.” A changeling says bowing as he steps up to Arcane. “Queen Sparkle would like to see you. She is in the library right now.”
Arcane sighs. “I’m going to need my armor.” He says to himself as he walks off to the library. “Thanks Gary.”
The changeling, Gary, smiles a bit as he feels Twilight’s emotions running through him and the others.
Arcane peeks through the door and looks around before tiptoeing through the library as he tries to find his mother. “Mom?” He calls out softly as he turns a corner and gets knocked down as a purple blur knocks into his chest. “Ow.”
Twilight smiles as she hugs her big boy tightly. “Hey Arcane. Welcome back.” She says happily squeezing his neck.
Arcane chokes and gags. “That’s great mom. Now let me breath.”
Twilight giggles as she lets go of him and let’s him take a big gulp of air. “Good. You have no scars which means you didn’t get shot on the job.”
Arcane scoffs as he gets up. “Trust me, that’s a regular thing. Hey mom.” He says smiling as he hugs her now.
Twilight smiles greatly as she hugs him more softly now. “My baby boy. So glad you are back. Want some tea?”
Arcane shakes his head as he lets go of her. “Nah. I rather get some sleep. Starship lag. Besides, can’t go around smelling like this.”
Twilight takes a few whiffs and recoils a bit as she holds her nose. “Nope. Can’t do that. We’re going to have a family get together tonight through. Would be great to have you there.” She says nasally.
Arcane chuckles a bit. “Okay. Shower first though.”
“In total, that is about seventy ponies and Togruta.” Twilight says, recalling all the wives and foals still on the planet.
Arcane sweatdrops. “Are you sure I haven’t been gone long?”
“Shower mister.” Twilight says almost playfully as she points toward the door.
Arcane holds his hooves up as he smiles. “Okay, okay. Geez.” He says before leaving and heads out to find his room.
“And Arcane?” Twilight calls and gets him to look back at her. “Welcome back home.” She says leaving him smiling now.
Arcane smiles greatly as he heads down the hall and notices how most of the doors have been personalized since he has been gone and must be for every single brother and sister he has now. “Times change.” He says to himself before coming across his door and frowns slightly at the Fallen still sitting beside it. “When I said the guards don’t have to guard anymore, that meant you as well.”
“I am not. I was asked to give you this.” The Fallen says handing him a datapad.
Arcane blinks and takes it as he looks it over. “New tanks for you?” He asks looking back to her.
The Fallen nods. “They are our new armaments on the field. The leader wanted you to know about this so you can prepare for any plans you may have about it.”
“Oh, for the war to come. The war we are already making moves in before it officially starts.” Arcane says. The Fallen just looks at him now. Arcane sighs and waves her off. “Go on. Do something…not guarding. Train or something. Just don’t guard my door now that I am back.”
“Understood.” The Fallen says before leaving.
‘Since when could they speak basic?’ Arcane thought.
Arcane steps into his room and finds it mostly clean of dust rather than being layered on each other. “Wow…mom must have got the changelings to help out.” He says out loud before going to get cleaned up.
Arcane stretches as he steps out of his room fully cleaned and heads to the dining room as he hears loud chattering. “Oh boy…maybe I can blend in.” He says to himself as he opens the dining room door slowly and sees a lot of ponies and three Togruta.
“Welcome back.” Rainbow calls to him.
“Aw man.” Arcane groans as he steps in and his sisters rushes him and hugs him. “Hey…can you let go of me? I need to walk to even meet the others.”
“Just be happy that they aren’t using the lassos.” Applejack calls to him.
“Really? Lassos?” Arcane asks sarcastically.
“Why not?” Applejack asks chuckling.
Arcane shakes his head lightly as his sisters finally let go of him and lets him find his own seat to sit in on. Most of the time being spent catching up and eating what they can from the food being placed out. Though it wasn’t until Sunshine, Azure, and Blazer came over to him. “Hey little bro.” Azure says smiling.
Arcane sighs in relief. “Finally. The old trouble maker squad.”
Blazer chuckles. “Though that now belongs to the youngest over there.” He says pointing a claw toward the little foals being held by their mothers.
Arcane smiles and raises an eyebrow to Sunrise. “Did dad kill your coltfriend already?”
“Nope.” Sunrise says.
Azure shrugs. “Doesn’t matter now. Now is a time to catch up so…how many did you get?”
Arcane frowns to him as he sees a few foals climbing the walls.
“Kills man. Not mares.” Azure says grinning.
“Honestly, haven’t been keeping track.” Arcane informs.
“Aw. You seriously couldn’t count?” Blazer asks grinning.
“I’m doing more black ops like stuff.” Arcane informs.
“Should you really who am I kidding?” Sunrise says rolling her eyes.
“So I see our vampire and Pie siblings are crawling on the walls and ceiling.” Arcane says hoping to change the subject.
“Yeah…mom and dad are trying to calm them down.” Sunrise explains.
“Did it work with you?” Arcane halfheartedly asks.
“What do you think?” Sunrise asks suddenly climbing the pillar next to them.
“I really do pity our father and mothers.” Arcane says looking to Azure.
Azure shrugs. “They have been through Tartarus with us.”
“They aren’t done either.” Blazer jokes.
Arcane smiles. “At least they aren’t forgetting about us. That would be the worse.”
“What are you three talking about?” Twilight asks standing by Applejack and Octavia behind them.
“Yipe!” They all jump before realizing something. “Three?” Azure asks before looking around and doesn’t see Sunrise. “Traitor!” He calls.
“Oh. Are they being naughty?” E. Vinyl asks leaning on Octavia’s back.
“Maybe we should send them to their room.” Twilight says smirking.
“Hold that thought.” Blitz says wearing a police uniform with a stop sign.
“How…never mind.” Twilight says.
“Pinkie costume changed me.” Blitz informs.
“Yeah…figured.” Twilight says nodding along.
“Now are you girls behaving?” Blitz asks wiggling his eyebrows at them.
“Yes.” E. Vinyl says almost immediately.
“Uh huh.” Blitz says unconvinced as he wraps a hoof around her.
“Come on girls. This means, you know?” E. Vinyl says smirking.
Twilight and Octavia both smirk at that as the boys slipped away. “Remind me not to stay around dad when that happens.” Arcane says looking behind them.
“Oh, come on Jackie.” Blitz says as a lasso came and ensnared Arcane.
“Oh shit.” Arcane says before being dragged away toward Surgere. “Come on. Untie me.”
“No can do bro.” Surgere says in a very country accent.
“Seriously?” Arcane asks annoyed turning to her.
“Come on, don’t you remember our little game?” Surgere asks smirking.
“What game?” Arcane asks confused.
“Rodeo.” Sugere says smiling deviously.
“No!” Arcane declares frowning.
“Why not? Mom and dad play it all the time.” Surgere says dragging him closer.
“That’s different! Dad! Momma Applejack!” Arcane calls almost pleadingly.
Blitz hums as he stares hard at Soarin. “I don’t know. I can’t see it.”
“Seriously?” Soarin says pointing a hoof toward Blizzard dressed up like her who grins. “Don’t tell me that’s not creepy.”
Blitz shrugs. “I can’t help it that our son here likes to do this. Honestly, it’s an asset.”
“Thanks dad.” Blizzard says in Soarin’s voice. “Both my colt and marefriend think so too.”
“Momma Applejack!” Arcane calls now that Blitz is out.
Applejack chugs down a mug of cider and slams it onto the table as Rainbow finishes hers afterward. “Won that round.”
Rainbow grins back. “You’re on. Next!” She calls.
“Um…guys?” Arcane calls almost weakly before Surgere is lifted into the air and placed on the other side of the room as the ropes falls apart. “What the…?”
“Hi little Arcane.” Terra says smiling as her horn stops glowing.
Arcane groans as he gets up and stretches. “Ow. Hey Terra. So…how many times in the vacuum?”
“Seventy eight to zero.” One of his little brothers tells him with a scoreboard.
Arcane raises an eyebrow at her. “Really? You pissed off mom that much?”
Terra shrugs. “Can’t help it. Really, I need fun in my life.”
“And a vacuum is that?” Arcane asks sarcastically.
Terra grins still. “Maybe. But making sure auntie Twilight is on her hooves is the best excuse as well.”
Arcane shakes his head slowly. “You are so going to be banished one day.”
Terra giggles to herself as Arcane looks around. Azure raises an eyebrow as his eyes glow and looks to see Arcane’s energies starting to comb together. “Hey…Terra?” Arcane asks carefully.
“Hmm?” Terra asks smiling.
“Can we talk…privately?” Arcane asks almost nervously.
Azure tilts his head confused as the colors in Arcane seem to be mixing together now. “Sure. Let’s go.” Terra says leading him away.
Azure blinks before going to Blitz and whispers in his ear. Blitz blinks a bit surprised before looking to where Arcane and Terra went before sighing. “Don’t follow. Just…leave it lie.”
Now Azure was even more confused at what could this mean.
“So…what’s this about? Oh, did you get my gift?” Terra asks smiling towards him as they went out into the hall.
Arcane smiles a little. “Yeah. Got it. Got to say, it’s a great gift. But uh…yeah.”
“Yes?” Terra asks chuckling.
Arcane gulps. “I…have been thinking…since I have been on that mission.”
Terra blinks a bit confused now. “What about?”
“Well…you really. I don’t know how to explain it. But every time I am here, I always feel a tug towards you. Like a magical tug. I can’t really understand it. But when I went on the mission, I kept feeling the tug getting stronger. And now that you showed up, it moved toward you and wherever you went.”
“Oh.” Terra says to herself as she realizes that her husband’s spirit got stronger and now seems to be taking over. “So…what are you going to do about it?” She asks carefully as she really doesn’t want to face the wrath of any of the mares in the other room.
Arcane was silent on that as he looks down and scuffs his hoof on the ground as some words came into mind…but it wasn’t forceful. “Well…auntie Terra…what’s really going on here?”
Terra stares at him before sighing. “Okay. Look, there is a reason you only have sisters. No male alicorn can be born again once one exists. That’s you. And…well…male alicorns are really an amalgamation of all the past alicorns. Whatever is pushing you towards me is probably my husband doing that. He’s the most recent and most powerful so it would make sense he would try to do this. I’m sure you remember how I am promised to you in some way.”
“Yeah. I kinda do.” Arcane says to the side as he remembers when he overheard Mary and Terra arguing about it.
“Yes. So…now you really know. You don’t have to anymore. I kinda accepted that. Blame your father. But…you could just go with normal mares and live like that. Live out your life that way.” Terra says floating back a little as she looks down a little hurt.
“Well now.” Twilight says walking up to them.
“Mom!” Arcane yells jumping a bit as Terra didn’t move or respond.
Twilight smiles at him before looking to Terra. “So you told.”
“It’s been long enough. He should know.” Terra explains looking to her.
Twilight sighs. “What are you going to do Arcane?” She asks looking at him.
Arcane was about to say something when there was an explosion from where the family was. “Um…anyone want to check that?” Arcane asks.
“I got it.” Twilight says rolling her eyes and walks off as she doesn’t look back. “Pinkie! I said no explosive cakes!” She yells.
“You got to have some Twi. These are delicious.” Blitz says with his mouth full of cake batter.
Arcane shakes his head before seeing Terra start to float off. “Terra.” He says stopping her.
“Yes?” Terra says carefully as she turns to him.
Arcane gulps nervously as more words and phrases came to him. “I potest experiri.” He suddenly says and realizes he can understand it.
“What?” Terra asks almost shocked.
Arcane shakes his head quickly before looking back to her. “We can try. Look. It’s obvious you are not getting with anypony else because he is gone…but if I am him in a way…maybe we can. Just…try as a new couple maybe.” He tries to explain as he blushes.
“Well…uh…I never expected this. Your father has basically squashed all hope of this happening but…are you sure?” Terra asks more carefully as she knows that Blitz is listening close near the door in the dining hall.
Arcane stays silent for a bit before nodding.
Terra doesn’t say anything before floating over and hugs him softly, before they heard sirens and the screeching of wheels coming at them from behind a door.
Arcane blinks and pushes Terra off as the door was opening to Blitz wearing a police uniform with a little police car made for a foal behind him. “Pinkie. So…accepting it?” He asks getting the uniform off and walks toward them.
Arcane nods slowly. “Yeah…kinda hard to explain myself.”
“Baa.” A white coated earth filly says climbing into the car.
“You should get that one.” Arcane says pointing to the filly as she tries to spin the wheel around and kept making noises.
“DD’s filly.” Blitz says smirking as she was just like her mother.
Arcane chuckles a little as Terra floats over and grabs the filly’s hooves and plays around as she starts to push the car around with the filly cheering. “So…are you bothered by this?” Arcane asks carefully as he steps up beside Blitz.
Blitz says nothing before teleporting away and returning a few moments later in his usual armor. “That’s for you to decide.”
“Right…” Arcane says before yawning. “Okay…I need to get some sleep. It’s been long enough.”
“Hold it.” Surgere calls before getting him with another lasso.
“Seriously?” Arcane asks frowning.
“Yep. You thought auntie Terra can keep me away? Never! Back to the family!” Surgere declares pulling him in.
“This is going to be a long night.” Arcane mumbles still frowning.
“What do you girls think?” Blitz asks his wives.
“Which part?” Twilight asks smiling as she leans against him.
“You all know which part.” Blitz says petting Vinyl.
Vinyl purrs. “Everything.” She says nuzzling against his hoof.
“Come on girls. Voice your opinions. If not, then we always could sit our foals down and tell embarrassing stories about their moms.” Blitz says smirking as all of their eyes widen.
“Don’t you dare.” Octavia says frowning towards him.
“Then start telling your thoughts on what happened with Arcane and Terra.” Blitz says showing them the lie detector Twilight made for the foals, making her chuckle nervously.
“Well…it’s kinda weird…but she is the least connected to the family.” Vinyl tries to explain.
“Vinyl, did you drink my secret stash of Snops.” Spitfire says.
“Was it red or green?” Vinyl asks before hiccuping.
“Red.” Spitfire says frowning.
“No.” Vinyl says and the machine beeps loudly.
“You did.” Spitfire accuses.
“Girls, focus. You can abuse the lie detector later.” Blitz says.
Twilight sighs and lays her head down. “A bit…uncomfortable.” Twilight says before it beeps loudly.
“You are so lucky I am not going to ask you very embarrassing questions.” Blitz says.
Twilight frowns. “Fine. I actually accept it all.”
“Good. We are making progress.” Blitz says.
“Actually…happy.” Spitfire says rolling onto Hurricane who snorts awake.
Hurricane yawns loudly and rolls over to Blitz. “What I miss?”
“Oh, good. You’re awake. Now tell us your feelings about Arcane and Terra.” Blitz says smirking, knowing the room was on lockdown and no escape.
Hurricane blinks before tossing everyone up and rushes to the door and slams into it. “Ow.”
Blitz chuckles as he floats her back to the bed and into his hooves. “Now, what do you think?” He asks petting her.
“No.” Hurricane says stubbornly.
The machine beeps loudly and Blitz smirks. “Strike one.”
“It is not right here.” Hurricane says still stubborn.
The machine beeps again and Blitz grins. “Strike two.”
Hurricane growls. “Fine. I’m happy for them.”
“Who’s a good girl?” Blitz asks scratching her mane in human form.
“I’m a bloody commander that founded Equestria. Not a pet!” Hurricane yells angrily and the machine beeps. “Fuck you!” She yells to the machine and makes it beep again.
“Who is a good wife?” Blitz asks getting her behind the ears.
Hurricane groans before falling apart and purrs and leans into his scratching. “Me…”
“And you love it, don’t you?” Blitz asks knowing he had her no matter which answer she gives.
“Yeah…” Hurricane purrs out as she twitches her ears now.
“Are we really all in agreement?” Twilight asks as they watch Blitz scratch Hurricane behind the ears.
“Yeah. Hurricane loves it.” Rainbow says snickering.
Hurricane tries to stick her tongue out at her but kept purring under the scratching.
“Ahsoka?” Blitz asks.
Ahsoka yawns and looks over smiling. “Fine here. Kinda happy they finally got someone.”
“So…how has visiting with master Obi-wan been?” Blitz asks as she rubs her stomach.
Ahsoka smiles. “Amazing. It’s been awhile since I have even been taught by him.”
“I’m happy for you.” Blitz says before they all heard Pinkie snoring.
They all look over to see Pinking snoring up a chainsaw as she hugs her poofy tail. “Cup…cakes.”
“I want an answer from the rest of you later and I will be using this.” Blitz says poking the lie detector.
“Good to know sugarcube.” Applejack says cuddling up next to him.
“Now let’s get some rest.” Blitz says before a wing wraps around his head.
“Or…we could have fun.” Soarin says giggling.
“Too tired.” Blitz says as Night grabbed Soarin around the waist from behind.
“Leave him be. It’s been a long day.” Night says grinning as she nuzzles her.
“Also, double check to make sure we don’t have Blizzard in here with us.” Blitz says.
“How?” They all ask as they look to each other.
“Eyes. He always forgets them.” Blitz informs.
They all rush to look at each other as Blitz chuckles.
“Found him.” Night says looking at ‘DD’
Blizzard chuckles deviously. “Hi moms. Hi dad.”
“Where is your mother?” Blitz asks simply.
“Her room. Getting ready.” Blizzard explains getting off the large bed.
“Go to your own bedroom.” Blitz instructs.
Blizzard shrugs as he leaves and kept grinning.
“About time you sent him out.” Ahsoka says.
Blitz shrugs as he lays his head down. “Just…sleep…you are becoming sleepy.” He says pushing her head down to the bed.
“Not going to wait for DD?” Night asks.
“Like I said, too tired.” Blitz says shaking his head.
“Come on. Stay awake.” Ahsoka says.
Blitz sticks his tongue out teasingly. “Nope. Cutie.”
Ahsoka knocks his head at that. “Idiot.”
“Alien.” Blitz teases placing a hoof on her head.
“Sexy.” DD says from the door.
“My love.” Blitz kept going as he brings his head up to look at her. “You know, your son was here.”
“I met him on the way and flashed him my disapproving frown.” DD says.
Blitz chuckles. “Admit it. He captures the beauty you girls share. If there’s one thing he’s good at it’s capturing a picture perfect image.”
“Quiet you.” DD says booping his nose.
Blitz kisses her hoof. “Yes my mistress.” He jokes grinning.
“Put your head down and go to sleep and don’t say anything.” DD threatens holding a hoof up.
“Somepony is a far cry from when she was first turned into a mare.” Blitz teases.
DD boops his nose again, this time hard.
Blitz chuckles and wraps a hoof around her. “Cutie.”
“Imbecile.” DD quips starting to smile.
“Sexy.” Blitz says before pulling her to himself like a stuffed animal.
“Aw. Isn’t that cute? She’s like a cute little puppy.” Fluttershy says smiling.
“I would think polar bear.” Blitz teases.
DD boops his nose again. “Shut up.”
Blitz nuzzles her before laying his head back. “Ow. I really need sleep.”
Arcane just frowns as his flying senses were acting up. Even a tug from how it was leading him to Terra is now gone, but it started up again in a new direction. Somewhere far out of place. His view being helped up by the spiky look of what seems to be a HUD based on some of the fighters he flew, but these seem red and more dangerous looking.
As for now, his magical sensor, which even Blitz told he doesn’t have when he flies, is going off and leading him near the far side of the Everfree Forest. “What are you?” He asks himself as he sees a crevice running into the mountains. Seeing the sensor pointing him down into the ground below, he starts to fly down and carefully move away from the cliff edge as he notices how the edges were darker than the rest and nothing seems to be growing on the area. “Huh.”
Landing on the ground, he notices the small river running through the canyon as he walks deeper into the area. “Where are you leading me?”
Arcane kept walking along as he looks on the simple canyon for anything as his magical sensor finally went away and hasn’t lead him anywhere else. Now without a guide, he choose to wander to see if he can find anything about this tug was starting to get stronger. Coming around a corner, he quickly ducks behind the wall and peeks out to see some ponies covered in iron plates with helmets that covered up their entire head. “What the…?” He whispers to himself as he peers closer.
The ponies seem to be gathered around what seems to be an old temple entrance as two ponies in the middle circle each other as they each held an old weapon of a spear and axe. “A fight?” Arcane asks looking around before climbing up the walls a bit and tries to look closer and sees the two in the circle of the crowd fight each other in some sort of competition. Arcane kept watching before feeling the tug again and feels it toward the temple. “Okay…how do I get past?” He asks himself as he sees a few of the ponies blocking the entrance.
Arcane climbs down and heads around the edge while keeping to the darkness and rocks that he can take cover behind as he gets closer. Arcane gulps as he peeks out and sees that most of the attention is on the fight before trying to move again. “Dem mo!” One of them calls out and Arcane immediately looks to see that they saw him and jumps back as he gets his blaster out and aims.
“Okay. Fight the way through. Shouldn’t be too hard.” Arcane says to himself as he looks to all of the ponies as they point their weapons at him.
“Not if I stand in the way.” Daring says frowning as she walks up what seems to be a long cloth that the ponies immediately bow to. “What are you doing here? Blitz picked up your tracker heading for this area.”
“I was following instinct.” Arcane explains.
“Uh huh. You’re pretty lucky me and Blitz handled this area before.” Daring says still frowning before looking to the ponies and starts to talk in a strange language to which the ponies grab their weapons and goes back to what they were doing. “So…where is it leading you?”
Arcane points his hoof to the temple. “In there.”
Daring raises an eyebrow confused. “That’s impossible. When me and Blitz finished here, I came back to find out more about this place. Went over the whole place, top to bottom.”
“Well, my instincts tell me otherwise.” Arcane says before starting to walk.
“Hold it.” Daring says in a motherly tone that made him stop. “You can’t just walk in willy nilly. Especially this one. This one is full of traps and I’m sure you don’t want to face Blitz with an arrow in your flank.”
Arcane groans before Daring walks ahead of him and looks back to him. “Well? Let’s get going.” She says before walking up to the ponies at the temple steps and talks to them.
Arcane blinks confused as he walks up and the ponies start to talk back to Daring and she nods before looking to him. “They will let us through. But you need to be on your best behavior. Got it?” Daring explains tapping a hoof.
Arcane nods slowly as he puts his blaster away. “Right.”
Daring shakes her head slowly before looking to him. “I’m sticking my neck out for you here. Blitz expects me to bring you back so don’t mess up.” She says before following two of the ponies inside with Arcane following.
Blitz frowns as he watches the map with Arcane and Daring’s trackers as they go into the temple now. “Must be related to him.”
“Or it could be something planet shattering.” Someone says behind him.
Blitz frowns even more now and turns his chair to look at the cloaked being. “What do you want?”
The cloaked man chuckles. “Nothing. Checking up on progress. I see your son is actually starting to understand his place.”
“He makes his own.” Blitz argues.
The being chuckles deeply. “Keep telling yourself that. By the way, got some fun things for you.”
“Oh. Is it torture tools I can use on you and maybe chop off that tail?” Blitz asks sarcastically.
The being pulls down his hood to show a wolf who grins with mirth in his eyes. “No. Though that would be fun…for you. See, me and my team play a dangerous game. A game of cheats and cheaters. I already approached the emperor. And…” He dodges his head to the side to avoid the blaster shot. “Hear me out. I am giving your side a chance to gain the upper hand. See, this spot is a treasure trove of minerals and tech you can use. Coordinates are more on your territory than anything. The empire is already moving. I suggest you move your own now.” He says taking out something and presses it as a new screen appears on Blitz’s terminal to show some coordinates. “Note, not that big of an advantage, but an advantage nonetheless.”
“Or I could kill you and take everything.” Blitz says bring up the blaster.
The wolf smirks and tilts his head as he holds up his other hand. “Blind.” He says before the flashbang in his hand went off and Blitz rubs his eyes to see that he is gone.
Blitz scoffs before looking back to the terminal to see the coordinates. “Fuck.” He curses mostly to himself as he sends it to Spike and goes back to watching the trackers.
Arcane felt the tug become stronger as he kept walking deeper into the temple as the ponies and Daring stop, all of them talking together as the two seems to be explaining something to her while pointing to the rest of the large room.
Arcane slowly turns his head away from them and looks down a hall before walking down it. “Hey. Arcane!” Daring calls seeing him head on without them. “Man. Blitz is so going to kill me.” Daring mumbles as she follows with the ponies catching up and staying ahead of Arcane to watch for traps.
Arcane looks around as he feels his control of his body partly slipping away until they reach a dead end as the ponies became slightly confused and talks to Daring who shrugs and tries to explain herself and Arcane. All the while, Arcane stares at the wall as Daring walks up to him. “Come on. This part of the temple is already cleaned out and studied. You aren’t going to find anything.” She explains as Arcane’s horn glows as he reaches out with a hoof and touches the wall. “See. Nothing but symbols on how to grow crops and…” Daring shuts up as a sudden rock creak made her look down to see that the wall has moved up a bit. “What the…?”
Arcane twists his hoof and pulls it away as he blinks and shakes his head as the wall starts to slide up and show another chamber now. “Okay…I did not know about this.” Daring says looking around and notices how the architecture is different than the main temple.
Arcane breathes carefully as he walks in slowly and up to the table looking block while statutes of what seems to be different ponies was around it all in the walls, each holding a different weapon in old knight armor. “Whoa…” Arcane breathes out and looks to the block in the middle and sees it is actually a coffin with one of the knights’ figure on top. The hooves holding a dark sword on top that was intricately crafted.
Daring walks around the room as she looks to each of the statues before looking back to Arcane and sees him reach out toward the dark weapon and touch it. Daring become surprised as the weapon glows brightly before it rises up, not bothered by the stone coffin, until it floats above it and then flies straight into Arcane and sends him down. “Arcane!” Daring yells worried as she rushes over and looks him over to see no sign of injury.
Arcane groans as he sits up and rubs his head. “That hurt…okay…I…feel different. Mom…do you know what to make of this?”
Daring slowly shakes her head and looks around the room. “I don’t know…come on. Let’s get out of here. I don’t think you can be in any condition to do any more treasure hunting.” She says pulling him up.
“Yeah…let’s get home.” Arcane groans standing up before looking to the ponies staring at them. “Uh…are they okay?”
“I informed them you are mine and Blitz’s son.” Daring informs.
“Really? Not even questioning the whole alicorn thing?” Arcane asks poking his horn.
Daring shrugs. “Probably think you are just a pegasus with a fake horn to kill with.”
Arcane hums as he sees the ponies still staring. “Make…sense…let’s go home.” He says walking off.
“Of course, they also think your father is a god.” Daring adds.
“What?” Arcane asks looking back at her. “What does that make me?”
Daring hums as she thinks on that. “Uh…a weaker god.”
“You know, that would have gone right to my head last year. Now it seems stupid to me.” Arcane informs.
Daring smiles at that. “Good. You are learning.”
“No, I grew up. Had to stop being a baby at some point.” Arcane says nearly making Daring burst with pride.
“Come on big boy. Let’s get you home…and to a sit down with your father on what happened.” Daring says pushing him along as the ponies start to lead them back.
“Admiral Thrawn is where?” Blitz asks sitting up immediately.
“Lothal system.” Spike says frowning.
“Spike.” Blitz says calmly with his eyes now closed as he thought about this.
“What’s the plan?” Spike asks carefully.
“Call the krogan and the alliance councillors.” Blitz informs.
“Got it.” Spike says placing in the request as he knew this got serious.
“Twilight, come see me now.” Blitz says calling her before sending the code Zeta forty-seven to the rest of his wives.
It was a bit before Twilight finally came in looking worried now. “So…that’s it, huh?”
“The time is now.” Blitz says simply.
Twilight frowns slowly and looks down. “Why couldn’t it be held off more?”
“Because Thrawn has moved to the other side of the galaxy.” Blitz informs.
“So now what?” Twilight asks walking up to him.
“We tell the councillors and they tell their generals and admirals it is now time.” Blitz informs.
“Well…I hope we survive this then.” Twilight hopes leaning against him.
Blitz says nothing as he waits to be connected with the five he was calling.
Twilight breathes carefully before a beep was heard and the holograms of the councillors and the krogan came up on the other side of the room.
“I expect this is a status update on the readiness of the mandalorian forces and wish to check on our forces readiness?” The salarian councilor asks.
“No.” Blitz says simply.
“By that tone, I say some killing is coming.” The krogan says crossing his arms.
“Now is the time. One of their best admirals has been called to the other side of the galaxy to deal with a rebel cell. This is a golden opportunity. We mustn’t pass up. The time for hesitations and reservations is over. Do you go to war with us or no?” Blitz asks looking at the asari as he spoke, letting her know she had to make a decision now for her people.
The asari frowns heavily before sighing. “Fine then. I will lend some of the fleets to direct in the war. But I can’t lend every single one of them.”
“Then the Asari have finally taken a side.” Blitz says turning to the rest who nod to him. “Very well. Let the war begin. We will issue an official declaration of war and then attack twelve hours later. They will mount a defense, but those we have placed in key positions will sabotage this and we will cut right through them.” Blitz says repeating the opening of their first plan.
“And we’ll get our forces into position.” The turian says.
“Very well. Then we begin operation Dawning Star.” Blitz says ending the communication before getting up as the alarm went off and a voice spoke over the speakers.
“We are entering code Zeta forty-seven. We are now at war.” The voice started to repeat.
Twilight looks worried up to him. “Are you going to be fighting?”
“I am the head of the first fleet.” Blitz reminds.
“Blitz…” Twilight starts.
“Mandalore himself has decreed it love. I must obey.” Blitz says.
“Stay safe. Please.” Twilight says looking worried to him.
“Twily.” Blitz says smiling to her now.
“And don’t do anything stupid.” Twilight adds smiling.
“Don’t worry about me.” Blitz says, the door closing behind him.
“Brother!” Azure calls to Arcane who had just returned with Daring to see everyone running around to do something.
“What the heck did I miss?” Arcane tries to ask as he looks around.
“It has begun.” Azure simply informs.
Arcane stares at him shocked before sighing. “Alright. Let me grab my things.” He says quickly heading to his room to grab his go bag.
“Do you happen to know what fleet you are assigned to?” Azure asks at his door as he packs, showing he wasn’t informed of his placement.
“Should be first and…Terra…please get out.” Arcane says getting his bag together and seeing Terra trying to sleep lazily in his bed.
“Meow.” Terra meows smiling to him as she gets up. “Good luck boys.”
“Yeah…thanks.” Azure says looking back to Arcane. “We are all still shocked by the way.”
Arcane chuckles a bit. “Are you kidding? Take the entire family and put it together and that’s what I’m feeling right now.”
“No. You are not that feminine.” Terra says giggling as she starts to float off.
“Har har.” Arcane says hefting his bag over his back.
Terra smiles and floats over and hugs him. “Good luck Arcane.”
Arcane nods slowly and hugs her back. “Yeah. I’ll be call you when I get the chance…especially since it would take almost a week each time and I get a minute of breaks.”
Terra giggles and let’s go of him and playfully salutes. “And I’ll hold down the fort and make sure grandmother Twilight is in tip top shape.”
Arcane grins. “That includes a vacuum in those plans?”
Terra bonks his head. “Shut up.”
Arcane rolls his eyes and starts to head out and pats Azure on the back. “Come on big bro. Let’s get to our fleet and stations.”
Azure stares at Terra as she waves at them. “I swear…you two are acting like you have been together for years.”
Terra grins. “If only you knew.”
Azure shakes his head and rushes after Arcane. “Keep it down to a minimum at least. It feels weird…like kissing your marefriend in front of her parents weird.”
Arcane smirks. “In your case, necking and turning her.”
Azure shoves him. “You’re a jackass.”
Arcane chuckles and wraps a hoof around him. “Nope. Just the annoying little brother.”
“I hate you.” Azure says simply picking up his hoof and giving it back to him.
“No. You just live with me.” Arcane says almost laughing.
Azure rolls his eyes. “Then let’s grab our bikes and head out. I don’t think dad would like it if we are late.”
“Nope. Otherwise it would be the wrath of him and our mothers.” Arcane says smiling.
Azure nods and slowly looks to him. “You ready?”
“Honestly…don’t know.” Arcane says a bit unsure.
“Then you better get your game on. This is going to be the longest war of our lives.” Azure says as he tightens his suit.
Arcane hums as he checks his blaster. “Yeah.”
“Let’s go boys.” Blitz says at the door in his full armor as Mystic stands beside him with his bag. “We got a war to win…hopefully.”
“Do you have to be a downer?” Arcane asks almost smirking.
“No. It’s just to keep you on your hooves.” Blitz says chuckling before heading out. “Let’s go.” He says with the stallions following.
The last group of trainees were just docking aboard their carriers as Admiral Wayland Undys watches quietly from the command deck of the Victory-2 class star destroyer Ascendancy. Something felt wrong about the day but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
“Admiral. We have ships arriving in system. I count five. IFF is not responding to any known ships.” The radar systems officer warns.
Admiral Wayland’s eyes widen slightly as he quickly rushes over to see for himself. Sure enough, there were multiple contacts on radar, and one was larger than his ship. “COMMS! EMERGENCY CODE ZERO ON ALL FREQUENCIES!” He roars as the ship is put on alert. His ship forming up with a small line of three other cruisers as they turn and prepare weapons to face the threat coming into the Prefsbelt system.
“General. We have detected a fleet of imperial ships and they just sent out a broadcast on all frequencies.” A communications officer informs Grievous on the bridge of his ship. Grievous clasps his hands behind his back as his Darkblade class command cruiser drops out of hyperspace. “Have the turbolasers target any and all carriers in the vicinity…we must acquire fighter superiority.” He grates through his speaker before continuing. “Ion cannons will target cruiser class vessels first and neutralize their shields.” He finishes as the Unyielding Grip drops out of hyperspace.
“Admiral Wayland! Enemy Star Destroyer class vessel dropping out of hyperspace! It’s just out of weapons range!” The same radar officer yells out in slight fear.
“Stand firm. Emergency code zero has been activated, any nearby imperial fleets will drop what they can and rush to our aid…” Admiral Wayland states calmly as he watches the Unyielding Grip activate its shields and engines. “Message the carriers, tell them to release all fighters and bombers and to pull back. I want the frigates to form wedge with the Vindicator leading. I want every single gun hammering that destroyer until it is dust.” Wayland says as he glares angrily at the Unyielding Grip.
As orders are quickly relayed and carried out, fighters and bombers begin to pour out of the escort carriers as power is directed towards their shields and engines but not fast enough as one was caught close to the Unyielding Grip to be within its weapons range. The crew and all pilots aboard were lost within a minute.
“DAMN THEM!” Admiral Wayland yells as he hears the captain of the carrier yell in fear over the comms before there is a loud burst of static then dead air. “Tell those damn kids to move their asses. If they don’t fight now, they might not live at all…“ Wayland says into the carriers comms systems.
Grievous stares at the lone victory cruiser as it forms a wedge with the three other frigate class vessels. “Target the lead vessel when it gets in firing range… hold for the rest of the vanguard.” He states calmly as his own fighters and bombers begin to launch. A mixture of TIE/FOs and Rebellion manufactured B-wings with a single Elite Squadron of TIE/SFs.
Admiral Wayland’s face quickly turns appalled and indignant the moment he sees TIE fighters launching from the enemy ship. “To all men…I personally offer a one thousand credit bounty for every traitor TIE fighter you shoot down…” He growls into the comms, broadcasting to his fleet as both fighter/bomber groups near each other.
“Well, it’s graduation day. I guess guys…” Says Aleksander Krupaljin, squadron leader for his class. “Right. Callsign, Grey Leader, checking in.” He reports as he watches the twinkling lights of the enemy fleet, a flurry of chatter and reports and some panic is heard as he watches a broken TIE drift by, the body of it’s lifeless pilot hanging out of the top hatch with cold dead eyes staring at him. It felt like he was watching his future for a moment before his wing-man scorches by with two others right behind him.
“A THOUSAND CREDITS A HEAD!? I’M GOING TO BE RICH!” His name was Stanis Navvara and he was supposed to be Grey-Leader’s wingman. He was the best pilot of his entire class and he was cocky. His cronies were right behind him while his ‘commanding officer’ was shouting for them to form up. Almost in fear it sounded like, ‘What a coward,’ he thought to himself as many other rookies follows his example and charges headlong at the enemy. “I CALL FIRST KILL!” He shouts in glee as he sees the first enemy squadron and begins firing. He is smug and grins with impetuous folly before it quickly turns to shock and fear as the enemy fighter jinks his shots and dives into the middle of his rag-tag group.
Fear was all he could feel, that and his clammy skin making his flight-suit stick to his skin. Aleksander was watching in abject horror as he watches a single fighter fly into Stanis’s group before he watches three fighters explode. Yet, what terrified him most, was the positioning if the fighters the were destroyed. One was directly behind the fighter and killed with a tail gun. The second was a direct hit in front of the new fighter. The third death was from a concussion missile fired from the enemy TIE.
“ALEKSANDER! HELP US!” He hears Stanis yell in fear before the rest of the enemy squadron dives in. It was a slaughter. Four entire squadrons were wiped out in less than two minutes.
“This is Admiral Wayland to all starfighters. Stay near the fleet. The sheer weight of fire from our larger ships should whittle them down before they get close. The Enforcers also have several anti-starfighter laser batteries. If you encounter the Space Superiority squadron, try to call out their location or lure them towards the Enforcers. Our TIE Avenger squadron will move to engage as their elite Tie are located.” Admiral Wayland explains as an Imperial broadcast is sent over open comms.
“This is Admiral H’stan, commander of task force Intervention. We are responding to emergency code zero. We were on ceremonial command, if code zero has been invoked needlessly, the consequences will be dire.” A dangerous voice says over comms as alarms and klaxons blare in warning on the Unyielding Grip.
“General Grievous sir, ten Imperial ships have been identified on radar on course for the Space roughly three kilometers behind the main Imperial lines.” The radar specialist on Grievous’s ship states calmly as the warnings and klaxons are turned off.
“As expected of the Imperial forces. How far away are the Castiel Cruisers?” Grievous asks as he looks towards where the Imperials are expected to arrive. “They should be just about…” Grievous begins muttering just before the Castiel Cruisers drop from hyperspace, “…there.” Grievous says with a smile in his voice. “Inform the captains that their fighters will launch and join ours before the main assault.” He orders as the Mandalorian battle line swells with fighters and guns.
The ice cold fear that gripped Aleksander’s heart had been shattered as he heard the report. ‘Task force Intervention? I never heard of any nearby task forces in this sector…’ He thought to himself as several Imperial ships drop out of hyperspace and begin to reinforce the line, but what really caught his eye was the jewel that now sat at the back of their lines with her long range guns. The imposing and awe-inspiring beauty of an Imperator-I class star destroyer.
“About time now! Whoa! Look at the enemy ships move!” One of the trainees calls as the Castiel Cruisers shot forward with surprising speed dodging the first volley from the newly reinforcements which overshot as the fresh fighters engaged the the cadets most though many broke off aiming to make a run on the training fleet and then they launched neutron torpedoes at their target the training fleet’s flagship the Ascendancy.
“Admiral! Enemy torpedoes, incoming!” The radar officer yells in panic as the pilots of the star destroyer rapidly start making adjustments to the ship.
“ALL POINT DEFENCE, TARGET THOSE TORPEDOES!” Wayland orders as the veteran Interceptor pilots quickly move to assist. Meanwhile a single squadron of oddly painted Mandalorian ties breaks off and begins to head straight for the interceptors, prompting several other Imperial fighter squadrons to move.
“Targets moving as predicted Master Osan, your orders?” A Sith Assassin asks of the Jedi master leading their flight.
“What is the status of the silencer?” Osan asks as they shred another squadron of cadets.
“I think about half way charged.” Another says before the squadron gets an order from Grievous, telling them to draw the fire of the lancer class cruisers.
“Is Grievous serious?” Asks a sith warrior. “Those things are meant to kill fighters…WE ARE IN FIGHTERS!” He roars in anger as a nearby enemy tie fighter crumples into a ball and smashes into another.
“Form up!” Osan calls.
“Master?!” one of the warriors calls
“He wants us to keep them grouped up.” Osan informs locking course for an attack run. “Let’s get their attention.”
Osan’s squad proceed on their run splitting into two squads of three along the way, but instead of attacking the lancer class themselves, they target the escorting Carrack class and combined fire on one spot on each where their force senses told them to; overwhelming the shields allowing the laser cannon fire to penetrate the ship and started a chain reaction in both, causing explosions to rip through them before the finally gave out and exploded sinking the two ships, getting the Lancer class ships’ attention concentrating a lot of fire their way and started to move closer, having taken notice their tie fighters were being pushed back and whittled down quickly.
“Master Osan, they are falling back, but they keep taking pot shots at us.” One of the jedi sentinels of the squadron points out as they link back up and head back into the dogfight before they spotted one squadron pushing back their forces. “Master, should we engage? They stand out a lot they must be the elites of the enemy fleet.” The jedi guardian of the squadron says.
“Those are TIE Advanced.” Master Osan says remembering the meeting the entire jedi and sith orders had on the war before they all shipped out to war. “Those are very high value targets command and judging from the skill, we can’t attempt a capture. Engage and destroy them.” Master Osan orders.
“Estimated time till silencer is ready is three minutes. Keep that in mind and move away so you don’t get caught in the blast.” The assassin reminds as it looked like the Unyielding Grip was starting to move up.
Several laser bolts flew past a jedi knight’s ship before two impact on the shields. Whipping around in his cockpit he saw a TIE Advanced on his six. “Blow him out of the sky Marauder.” He says to his Sith tail-gunner as he begins evasive maneuvers.
“It would be much easier if everyone stayed still.” The marauder mutters angrily as he fires again and again at the Avenger on their tail before enough bolts hit their mark, causing the Advance’s shields to fail before it breaks off the pursuit. Moments after it breaks off, a pair of missiles streak by and slam into the wing and cockpit of the Advanced, causing it to blossom into a red and orange ball of death.
“Good kill, now there are four more to go.” Master Osan says as he and his squadron weave around lasers and missiles while trying to put in as much damage as possible to enemy ships. “Master, we just received orders to pull back. The silencer is at eighty.” The sith sorcerer calls.
“All wings pull back!” Osan calls and banks with the rest of his wing disengaging. Seeing this, many of the fighters followed them and pulled back with them with some hanging back a little longer to cover the retreat before joining them.
“What are they doing?” Aleksander questions having to bark orders at his squad to maintain formation as some of the more hotheaded rookies followed them only to be slaughtered by the tail gunners and point defences of the bigger ships.
“General, the silencer is ready, your target?” A communication’s officer asks, his smirk quite visible to the rest of the bridge.
“Fire the silencer on the Star Destroyer, we will engage the rest of the fleet at turbolaser range. The other fleet should be arriving shortly to assist.” Grievous orders as he looks at the bridge of the enemy star destroyer.
“Targeting now.” A bridge officer says.
“All fighters and ships have cleared the firing line.” Another says as they heard the sound of the silencer powering up.
Aleksander held his breath as he noticed one of the enemy ship start to move to the front before a bright light shot from it, heading straight for the flagship of task force Intervention. Then there was an explosion of bright light, temporarily blinding him causing him to cover his eyes. After a few moments, he finally uncovered them and saw, to his horror, the star destroyer was now barely remaining with only some parts burned badly and floating in space as the lancer class ships didn’t escaped undamaged either. One of them was completely vaporized as several others suffered heavy flash burns from the immense heat and energy.
“Good. Order our bombers to concentrate fire on the remaining Lancers. Have the Castiel cruiser rush in and finish off their escort carrier then the gladiator star destroyers.” Grievous orders as all his ship got back into formations, reforming their line.
“General, what about the other fleet?” A bridge officer asks.
“They will be in for a shock soon.” Grievous says watching the monitors. Seeing another incoming signal from hyperspace as his fighters and bombers start to fly at the mostly crippled task force now as they had just lost their admiral and flag ship in one shot.
“What was that?” Aleksander asks before noticing the fighters and bomber returning to battle. “Come in Obsidian Squad, the fighters are coming back. Commander, what should we do?” Aleksander asks but gets no response. “Come in commander, what should we do?” Aleksander asks again.
“Alek, I am not picking up any of the advanced.” One of his squadmates informs.
“Th-that makes Alek highest flight officer…we’re screwed.” Says another squad member as he begins to panic as the fighters and bombers moved on a attack run as Alek tries to think of what to do before the bombs started to be dropped on the lancers who still hadn’t recovered and weren’t even shooting back and soon the crippled ships started to go up in balls of explosions and the fighters and bombers choose to start targeting the gladiators with their initial targets destroyed.
Then a signal came that started to bring back hope for the imperial forces. “This is Admiral Priam of task force Sigma four. We are in route now.”
“More reinforcements are coming. We still have a chance.” A rookie says.
“General, the rest of the fleet is about to come through. Should we alert them to the battle that is happening?” A bridge officer asks Grievous.
“Inform our six star general of the situation.” Grievous informs as the imperial ties were starting to rally then the new fleet comes in on the edge of the battle field and starts to soon head for it.
“Excellent. Focus all power to our forward shields and weapons. We will repel this traitor force.” Wayland ordered as his forces hadn’t notice that the new fleet was coming at them as one of the gladiator class succumbed to the combined bombs and went up in a final blaze as the escort carrier with nothing left was under assault from all side from the Castiel ships. Having no weapons that could effectively counter this, it’s captain decided to surrender, not wanting to be destroyed, making the Castiel ships stop firing on it, but sent over boarding parties to make sure it was secured and and start concentrated all fire on the last remaining gladiator of the task force.
As this was happening, the Ascendancy started to fire at the Unyielding Grip Grievous’s flagship, and then it happened. The new imperial fleet started firing on the Ascendancy, throwing Wayland’s entire bridge in disarray as the shields in the back was quickly overpowered and, before they understood what was happening, many proton torpedoes hit them directly in the engines first crippling them and eventually one luckily set off a chain reaction that damaged their reactor starting a overload. “Aban…” This was Wayland’s final attempt at an order before his bridge was destroyed, killing everyone in it. This caused the secondary bridge to try to take over, but, before they could, the reactor reached it’s limit and exploded, ripping the flagship in half and sending both pieces flying in different directions. None of the training fleet could comprehend what had happened as their flagship was now destroyed and no time to recover as the ‘imperial’ fleet launched it’s fighter and bombers before starting to bombard the two imperial enforcer class ships. While the Unyielding Grip and the Darkline cruiser started move in to fire on the training fleet’s capital ships or what remained. As this was happening, the final Gladiator went up from the bombs and the Castiel cruisers, having received the confirmation from their boarding marines, turned and started to turn and head at the fleet with full speed.
The bombers didn’t immediately join the final attack though. They returned to their ships to be refit and repaired if needed. The fighters on the other hand didn’t return unless they needed repairs and, with that, the training fleet started to attempt to flee anyway they could. The Interdictor, the Defiant, started to move to retreat, but, in doing this, it attracted too much attention as the ‘imperial’ fleet’s Gladiator ships released salvo after salvo of concussion and proton torpedos. It was clear to all that that would not allow them to escape as the ship started to buckle under the bombardment, but because of this many of the escort carriers still remaining that could move decided to move to escape, not even waiting for the rookie pilots to come on board and just left them to their fate as two made the jump to hyperspace before they could be started to be fired on as another tried to jump but too many hits on it’s engine area had been taken and, when it tried to jump out, its engines exploded from the strain, destroying the carrier.
Aleksander felt his heart gripped in fear as, out of the original class, only about half remained and were being abandoned as the enforcers couldn’t even move to flee as they were bombard from all sides by the fleets. Then he felt his heart stop and many new ships, many the same design as the unknown ships they had just fought, started to jump in followed by many large and more powerful looking ships.
“Attention all remaining imperials. This is Mandalorian Grand General Blitzkrieg of the Citadel alliance. Surrender and I promise you will all be spared. Fail to comply and we will finish this battle.” A open broadcast from one of the ship informed.
Seeing this, most of the cadets started seriously considering to surrender, but one squad, of whom remained only three of the original five, used the broadcast to track which ship it came from attempt to attack the ship and kill the general with their TIEs, but they didn’t get far as when the started firing, they felt their TIEs suddenly stop as if they were grabbed by clamps and their seat belts barely held them in place, but the whiplash hurt them and then to those cadets still watching horror encased them as the interceptors seemed to be crushed by an invisible force while on the bridged of the new Dark Tendril class Heavy battlecruiser the Supremacy, Blitzkrieg was holding out a hand and using the force to crush them to show they didn’t even need to fire on them to finish this battle before the three exploded.
Seeing this and and hope of escaping being lost with the interdictor that was destroyed, Aleksander gave a heartbreaking order over the communications. “This is Ensign Aleksander Krupaljin. As the highest ranking flight officer, I hereby order all fighter and bomber pilots to surrender. There is no point in fighting any longer.”
This order was soon also given by the enforcers and the two remaining escort carriers. The first battle of the war was over and, in the end, the imperials had lost an entire task force, four ships, and thirty eight squadrons of fighters and bombers.
To the shock of the new POWs as of twelve galactic hours ago, the Citadel alliance had made an official broadcast to the empire itself declaring war for violations of treaties and unlawful invasion into their territories given to them at the end of the clone wars. This broadcast had even been played on Coruscant along with showing of evidence of such acts when bounty hunters had hijacked a broadcast station on the planet so it couldn’t be blocked and the Emperor himself had to know, but, with the time it takes for alert to be spread across all the imperial territory, the fleet was uninformed and just happened to encounter the vanguard of this invasion fleet as it was heading for Prefsbelt IV and to take over the entire Prefsbelt sector before help could arrive, but the biggest surprise for the POWs is that they were treated with respect and humanly. They had earn respect from the mandalorian fleet, having fought so hard despite being caught unprepared and not finished with training.
“Sir, it looks like we still haven’t been detected by the enemy ship.” An officer informs as Blitz looks out to Prefsbelt IV, the two escort carriers, and the military space station in orbit.
“Decloak the fleet and open fire. Destroy the defense fleet and the station, then ceasefire.” Blitz orders.
“Sir.” The officer says relying the orders and their ship starts to decloak to the enemy’s surprise before all their weapons opened fire, pounding their shields with cannon and laser fire in the fleet before it broke through and hits the station, filling it full of holes. Blitz breathes out carefully as some of the fleet explodes from the surprise attack on them along with the station before the ships started to return fire. Only for the Supremacy to keep firing and turn their attention towards the remaining floating vessels and decimates them with holes in their hulls as well. All of this leaving them dead in the water with some of them breaking apart and exploding into scrap.
“Grievous, I want you to demand the surrender of them. Keep them talking and busy while we execute the next stage.” Blitz says.
Grievous coughs. “Fine. But they better be through.”
“Launch operation Piercing Arrow. I repeat Piercing Arrow is a go.” Blitz says causing several smaller ships and transports to launch from the Supremacy.
“Alright, listen up. Our assignment is to infiltrate the academy and sneak through the canyon. There are sensors that look for any sort of vehicles so we are stuck on our own four…or rather two, feet. We get inside, plant the bomb where it can reach the most of the compound and then send a signal to our waiting attack group in the canyons. After that bomb goes out, some of our electronics will not be working, so we are going a bit low tech on our signal.” Arcane lists off. “Any questions?”
“What about the droids?” A mandalorian asks.
Arcane looks to the three droid members that were wearing parts of some armor and battery packs with different guns. “They will be off for a certain amount of time a bit away so they will not get the full blast. Optics may be messed up a bit, but they can fight when it all breaks out. We just need to put them in a good spot while we make our way to the tower.” He explains as he brings up a map of the base and points to the middle.
“And what do we do from there?” Another asks.
“Participate in the assault. Try not to damage everything in sight. We need the base. If you come across something that looks like it can do damage for the attacking force, plant charges for it if it is something simple as a TIE fighter. For the big guns, keep it and make sure no one boards them. We do have a secondary objective if you want in. The main is to capture the tower and capture the commander of the base if possible. Try to use stun charges. We might get something out of this guy.” Arcane says making a few attack and defensive lines on the map, showing how the main assault will go. “We would be the flankers for the assault and help the force gain control of the base. And for the love of Tartarus, don’t take down anyone in the beginning of the inflation. It’s called that for a reason and we intend to at least make it to the tower. After that, weapons free.”
“What about other prisoners or HVT?” Another asks.
“Get them to a safe zone designated here.” Arcane says marking a spot in the canyon. “Scans show this place as dark, but it is only truly safe if we blow the bomb and take out the advanced warning systems. And this is a big objective to do since you would have to travel far to get them out of the firefight zone so the transports can pick them up and take them someplace safe. Remember, a lot of the electronics would be out, so you and the prisoners would be out on foot. Travel in twos, go by yourself if you want, but try not to get killed. Even though I know you wouldn’t.” He jokes grinning as some of the members chuckle at that. “Remember, if you find anything of value such as prisoners of the high value, try to get them out in one go as best you can. We really don’t them to hang around the area any longer than they should be. Oh…and if there documents or drives of information, grab them if they are too valuable. We will capture the base, but I would take information and prisoners out before the empire soldiers could break, destroy, or kill them before we can reach them.” Arcane explains. “Any more questions?” He asks looking around.
“Yes, what is the main assault force consisting of?” One asks.
“Not much. We have several squadrons of TIEs maintain air superiority and covering the infantry and armor. Which consists of one regiment, ten 2-MA Sabre-class repulsor tanks, and eight Jackhammers.” Arcane informs. “Anything else? No? Good. Time to get to work.” Arcane instructs.
“Stay quiet.” Arcane orders as he hurried along the canyon, his team following right behind them as they pass by the radar sensor watching out for anything that is supposed to be looking for any ships or vehicles. “We should be able to sneak a ways inside before we have to start knocking the soldiers out.”
The team continued along, making sure to not cause too much noise to flip the sensors watching the areas. All of this while passing by under some staging areas for some aircrafts of different types. The clanking of some AT-ST made them go slower and take a wide breath around the noise as a heavy fog covered the area. Even though they are not going to be picked up by the motion sensors, doesn’t mean they are not going to be picked up be a regular eye looking towards them.
Arcane kept looking around for anything important as he marks certain places on his map of the staging areas to send out before they detonate the bomb. Telling the teams that will attack on where to strike first or before the main attack if need be. The fog and terrain soon started lifting up and let them see more of the area as they come across a hangar with a soldier in TIE gear running for the parked TIE. Arcane only sends out a stun blast from his blaster and uses the force to put him back into the hanger as they kept running.
The soldiers in the back carrying the bomb in a bag looks inside the hangar for anything just in case as they kept following, the heavy bomb slowing them down a bit. As they cross over the lip of the carton entrance, they saw the base with its large command spire jutting from the center of the base. Several large landing pads holding numerous TIEs littered the area with searchlights criss-crossing the night skies. A pair of barracks and three vehicle bays as well as multiple other structures, presumably school buildings and living structures littered the canyon.
Heading down the hilly edge, they continue on, going for the side areas where mostly warehouses and hangars are. As they all marked where the fleet of TIEs sat waiting to launch. All around, they skipped the search and spot lights littered around and stuck to the main pathways before Arcane lifts his hand with a fist and makes them stop as they took positions before Arcane took a peek ahead to where they need to go. Looking back around them, he makes the others stay with a hand gesture as he goes to a small entrance door for a hangar and slowly peeks inside to see it is mostly crates.
Arcane smiles as he looks over to the team and whistles softly, making a B5 notice the signal and run over before heading inside with a mandalorian behind it. Arcane nods as the B5 finds a dark place and curls up before shutting down, the mandalorian waiting patiently as he watches the door and nods to Arcane. Arcane gives a thumbs up before closing the door and gives the signal to keep moving to the others.
As they head deeper into the base, they find that the number of soldiers are increasing as they patrol the area, making them slow their speed as some of them kept an eye out for places to put the two droids left. Only when Arcane gives them an order to stop again as he peers around a building and sees a heavy searchlight area with barbed and electrical fences surrounding it a few hundreds feet away. Arcane raises an eyebrow as he pulls his head back and thinks on how to deal with this before looking where they need to go and tries to guess the buildings in their path. Looking back at the prison like building again, he takes a deep breath.
“Change of plans here. You four.” Arcane says looking to the last two B5s and their keepers. “You are going for that once the shit starts flying.” He says pointing to the prison building. “Hide there.” He says pointing opposite of them to a little building with boxes around it, marking it as a supply building. “The rest of us will handle the bomb and info. If you get them out quickly enough, maybe you can pick off a few or capture them if need be.” He says smiling before signaling the others to move on as he follows while the two pairs heads toward the shed and goes inside and shuts the door behind them.
As the droid teams were settled in place, the remaining team started to hurry along the walls, staying still when guards or searchlights passes by. As they got closer, they started to feel the tension as they closed in on the tower. Arcane goes to the wall and presses his ear to it and tries to listen for anything with a pattern. Hearing some pattern like humming, he nods as he goes to the forward team and stands guard with them as the demo team sets up the bomb.
“Okay, get ready for the big boom.” Arcane says setting up the data to be sent and looks back to the team as they arm the device. “Remember, you won’t much help in terms of electronics…so don’t screw up or die.” Arcane says almost dryly as he stands and gets away from the area with the others following.
The demo team soon follows behind as they heads towards a building with a lot of electrical lines heading towards it and connected to it. Arcane chuckles to himself as they set up at the door and prepared to open it before Arcane stops them before knocking on the door. “Hey. Keycard doesn’t work anymore. Open up man.” He calls and gets some dry looks from the others as Arcane held a small smile.
“Again Koy?! Have you any idea what you do to embarrass me?” Someone calls from inside before the door opens and gets a face full of a blaster. “Oh shit.” The officer mutters before being stunned.
Arcane quickly walks by the knocked out officer as some of the others were surprised that actually worked while Arcane looks around and notices the main room a bit away down a hall with some guards and officers milling around. However, Arcane decided to go down the side hallways and sees lines of servers in chilled rooms as he left two of the teammates behind at the main hall, ready to rush in. As Arcane reaches the other side, he grasped onto what the structure is like before he peers in toward the room and sees them all looking towards the main door, wondering what is taking so long for the knocked out officer.
Arcane and the teammate next to him quickly rushes into the hall and they both fire off stun shots as the others do the same, knocking the guards and officers they can see before taking out the ones they couldn’t once they walked into the main room. All of it done in several seconds as Arcane looks around for cameras. “Start the data transfer. Let’s get this out before the alarm hits.” He orders sending his map data to the waiting force.
The mandalorians go to the consoles and start to dump out all the data they can as Arcane kept looking around. Seeing his own transfer done, he sets up the bomb arming system and gets prepared to hit it. As the data went, almost agonizingly slow for them, Arcane ordered them away towards the door again, leaving the data to keep transferring what it had.
Once they stepped outside, Arcane took out something from his pocket, looking like a bulky blaster pistol, and takes one last look around. As the team locks their own data loads on their arms and nods to him as they see it has almost around fifty percent of the info sent. Arcane takes a deep breath. “Going dark.” He says before hitting the detonate button and they hear a loud humming noise that washed over them as their night vision and data pad arms go out with the base following in its wake, the lights, door controls, even some of the soldiers patrolling around stopping and banging their helmets. “Alright. Let’s have fun.” He says before lifting the pistol up into the air and fires off a red flare into the air, letting it to sail into the dark sky and light up the whole base.
Arcane and his team immediately runs away from the area as they blast a confused soldier when he sees them and gets a face full of stun blaster fire. As they ran, explosions started to happen in the canyons, signaling them that the team has taken out the areas Arcane has marked. Arcane chuckles as they go for the tower and quickly goes to a door and places some charges on it. After setting up on the edge, they detonate and blow it wide open, letting them charge in and take out the dazed and confused soldiers they can see before some came out of rooms and other hallways and started to fire blaster fire their way, with them returning with either stun or regular blaster fire.
As this was happening, the main assault force began moving as their commanding officer was getting real time data from the ships in orbit as the imperial patrols lost their sensor readings, allowing them to be ambushed in the thick fog or, in the case of some, boarded and hijacked.
Arcane took off his headset as he kept getting static and kept returning fire, mostly getting the leg joints and arms if need be, knocking them as the team kept pressing on into the tower. The whole base now realizing they are under attack and prepared to use the fighters before seeing they are disabled by the bomb and go to grab weapons. As the imperial soldiers scrambled to find some weapons, the attacking force came through the canyon gaps and took out large forces running for some weapons or any vehicles still active.
Arcane smirks as he passes by a window and sees the fighting before seeing someone running towards them through the windows of the floor and holds out his blaster and makes him flip onto the floor in front of them. The guard groans as he tries to get up before hearing some boasters whir up. “Commander?” Arcane asks as he and another mandalorian points their blasters at them. The guard only shakily points up and Arcane smirks and let’s loose a stun blast to knock him out before they start to rush toward the middle of the tower building as many soldiers and guards started coming at them as they reached the stairs and looked up at the long tall tower. “Nope!” Arcane nopes like uncle Big Mac as they take out their blaster pistols and point their blasters toward the ceiling and fire off their harpoon guns.
The empire kept coming as they kept firing where they can, hitting some of them down into pain or knocked out when they can, hardly having that chance as they head multiple clangs and their lines pulled tight before taking off into the air. Arcane reaches out with the force and snaps off the first few levels of stairs, leaving it a mangled messed and only leaving the last top level intact for them to walk down with. Looking up, they see the bottom floor of the tower coming up as the blaster fire towards them lessened before Arcane frowns. “Give me a sec.” Arcane says rolling himself into the line and quickly changes into pony form and lights up his horn with a spell charging up at the tip of horn, the line wrapped around his hoof.
As he did this, the main assault force took the other defenses and the defending troops were starting to lose their nerve as neither the turbo laser towers or the deployable turrets were back online yet and the mandalorians were already taking over the towers. At this rate, when they did come back online, they would fire on each other and be destroyed.
The commander of the imperial forces of the base tried desperately to keep things in order, but without a radio system not being up yet, his messages and orders couldn’t get out at all as the mechanics tried to get everything back up and running. “How much longer?! This battle is literally tearing us apart.” He demands as he looks toward the fighting happening near the hangar bays. Some of the warehouses already destroyed and smoking as the ground troops tried their best to hold back the assault.
“We’re trying. Nothing is responding.” A mechanic says as he and the other mechanic tried to work the wires and power source.
“Well hurry up and…”
BOOM
The commander covers himself as he looks towards the smoking hole and sees a cloaked man fly out of the hole and sees a blaster in his hand. Then sees more soldiers in armor come out of the hole and fires their blasters with mostly stunt fire and knocks most of them out. The one in the cloak coming down toward him until his shock wore off and then was brought down to the ground as a blaster is aimed at his face, letting him see down the barrel of it.
“Check.” Arcane says pulling him up as the others took out everyone else in the room and brings the commander over to the console and slams him down before cuffing him. “Got the commander. Everyone else?”
“Clear!” A chorus sounded out as they look toward the battle happening.
“Alright. Signal the assault team that we have the target.” Arcane says smirking before pushing him along.
“Popping green smoke.” A mandalorian says before using a smoke grenade.
Arcane smiles as he tosses it out the busted window from the fight, letting the assaulting force see it and even the imperial soldiers. The fighting soon died out as they all realized it was over at this point and soon the imperial soldiers surrendered and let themselves be rounded up and sent to an area for them all to stay and be watched over.
“Lieutenant, we confirmed Druck, Nark, and Tonac all died.” One of his mandalorians informs.
Arcane frowns and breathes carefully. “Get their bodies and give them a proper burial. At least they didn’t die in vain.”
“Ay sir.” The mandalorian says leaving as Arcane watch the captured imperial walkers being brought into the base.
“Holy crap. Now that’s a capture.” Arcane mutters seeing them walk.
“Fifty-nine, return to the fleet immediately.” A call rang out over the comms as the lights comes back on.
Arcane sighs and tosses the commander over to another mandalorian as he walks past them. “Take care of this guy.” He says before just jumping off the stairs.
“And that is the plan. When I return I expect both sectors to be locked down, am I understood?” Blitz asks Grievous, Ridley, and Spike.
“Yeah. Sure. Anything we should really look out for?” Spike asks.
“Any counter attacks, annihilate them all. As they will most likely be acting against on orders as if the displacement of the moths if these two sectors and more there will be jockeying for power going on.” Blitz informs.
“We’ll deal with it swiftly.” Grievous coughs.
“Also, start sending for our friends in the turian military. Tell them we have some new recruits who we will need to retrain.” Blitz says.
“New ones already. Heh. And I thought we were done training.” Ridley jokes, mostly to himself.
“Start with those not stormtrooper to try and make them change sides.” Blitz instructs as Arcane watches.
“And resisting?” Grievous asks, almost with a grin behind his mask.
“Keep working on them till they join. The more we get to join us, the more ours and the rebels propaganda can spin it and hurt the empire more.” Blitz instructs.
“Oh, you are playing dirty.” Ridley says as Spike now smirks.
“I try.” Blitz says smirking back. “Now I go oh. And our friends have permission to set up shop in our two new sectors. Just remind them of our agreement if they get to uppity.” Blitz informs.
“No problem here.” Grievous says, his finger claws clicking against each other.
“Arcane, get your platoon ready. We are going to be leaving with others once our friends arrive.” Blitz informs.
“How long would that take?” Arcane asks.
“We are going to kill the pretender to the title of Mandalore.” Blitz informs.
Arcane blinks a few times before suddenly grinning. “Awesome.”
A few days later, several ships arrived and docked long enough for a few battalions of mandalorians to board before leaving as quickly as they came.
“So now what?” Arcane asks, his platoon ready nearby.
“Just wait on standby.” Blitz says as he waited for Phoenix squadron to pick up his encrypted call.
“This is Phoenix.” Hera answers.
“Captain, I wish to talk to Sabine Wren.” Blitz says.
“Oh, Chief Blitzkrieg.” Hera says, recognizing him immediately.
“Right now, it is Grand General. I am in charge of one of the forces that the Citadel alliance has sent to fight the empire now that we have officially declared war.” Blitz informs.
“Yes, we have heard. That decoration was a big boost to our morale.” Hera says unsurprised.
“Well, here is another. We have taken both the Prefsbelt and the Dantus sectors.” Bitz informs, this time surprising her.
“What? That quick already?” Hera asks in disbelief.
“We have been planning this for a long time. Now, Sabine Wren please.” Blitz requests.
“Oh. Sure.” Hera says before going silent.
Blitz waits until someone came back to talk, but he could hear a lot more moving and talking in the background. Obviously word was being spread by Hera about what had happened. “Sabine.” Blitz greets.
“Blitz…kinda expected you to call.” Sabine says, Blitz being able to tell she is smiling.
“Sabine, I have orders from Mandalore. The true one, not the pretender on Mandalore.” Blitz says showing her how serious this was.
“What are they?” Sabine asks, her smile obviously gone.
“Get Fenn Rau and go to your clan’s house on Krownest and tell them Mandalore calls them to arms. We are retaking Mandalore and destroying the pretender. You have twenty one days. With or without you, we will start the battle. Mandalore himself will be leading the attack.” Blitz informs.
“Got it. I’ll be there early as I can.” Sabine says.
“Roger and tell her that his second is the one calling them to war.” Blitz says.
“I’ll pass along the message.” Sabine says.
“Good. Blitzkrieg out.” Blitz says out before cutting the line.
“I see momma Ashoka’s old team holding out.” Arcane noted.
“Yes, but in for a very bad time. Have you heard of Thrawn yet?” Blitz asks.
“The toughest admiral ever seen up to now?” Arcane asks, making sure he didn’t sleep through that.
“He may be the best in the entire empire.” Blitz informs.
“Even uncle Spike?” Arcane asks, recounting how Spike became fearsome in an older attack.
“He may be his equal or better.” Blitz informs.
“Oh…so how long we got before we head out?” Arcane asks, trying to come up with some plans already.
“Hang tight. I have already informed when…” Blitz stops when a pirate bumped into him. “Excuse me?” Blitz asks turning to the pirate.
“What?” The pirate asks in a gruff voice.
“I believe you owe me an apology.” Blitz informs.
“Why should I?” The pirate asks back with annoyance.
“This is the reason.” Blitz says before igniting his lightsaber into the pirate’s gut. “I don’t tolerate disrespect.” Blitz says deactivating the lightsaber and lets the pirate fall dead in front of all of the other pirates, letting them know not to mess with him.
“You know…we are trying to keep a clean ship.” Arcane reminds.
“This isn’t our ship. Now someone clean up this mess.” Blitz says before motioning Arcane to follow.
Arcane walks along with him before sighing and trying to control himself. “I almost feel like doing a giddy dance.”
“These are pirates Arcane. They respect only a few things. Wealth, fear, and power. I just gave them a reason to fear me and now they know if they mess with me I will kill them.” Blitz informs
“I know. It’s just I feel like a true fighter.” Arcane says smiling.
“You have your first taste of war, but not the front line experience. You will learn it though.” Blitz says.
“Yeah…” Arcane says distantly.
“This is what you wanted, right?” Blitz asks.
“Yeah…I’m just wondering now, after seeing this, how long will this really last?” Arcane asks, mostly himself.
“We are taking on a major enemy Arcane, this will take years at least.” Blitz informs.
“Let’s see what becomes of it then.” Arcane says getting into step beside him.
“You know your brother Azure came with us on this, right?” Blitz asks.
“Yeah. But he’s been held back.” Arcane says.
“I mean he is here on this ship.” Blitz says.
“And?” Arcane asks.
“If things go as I have foreseen, then he will get to fight.” Blitz informs.
“And if it doesn’t?” Arcane asks.
“Then that means the enemy is far more pathetic than I thought.” Blitz informs.
Arcane smiles a bit at that.
“Arcane, this is an important move. You know why that is?” Blitz asks.
“Yes.” Arcane says.
“Oh, do tell.” Blitz says.
“MandalMotors, their shipyards, and without the pretender, no one can truly question Mandalore in the clans.” Arcane says making Blitz only able to smile and be proud.
“Perfectly evaluated.” Blitz informs.
Arcane smiles and shrugs at that. “It was nothing.”
“Now Arcane, what is Madalore’s surface like?” Blitz asks, making Arcane sweat as he had no idea of that.
“Um…barren and rocky?” Arcane offers.
“Deserts mostly with the population living in domed cities where they grow food, build, and live.” Blitz informs to Arcane’s surprise, not sounding disappointed in the least.
“Oh…okay. Hmm…domed cities.” Arcane hums to himself.
“Tek already shot down the idea unless it was on an airless planet.” Blitz says, derailing his train of thought. “And there will be times you forget, but it doesn’t hurt to ask…unless you are in a firefight.”
“So what is the plan father? Fight them in the cities street to street or in the desert?” Arcane asks.
“In the desert and if they don’t…well, we could always bomb them from orbit.” Blitz says completely serious.
“We are trying to gain those areas for our own use…right?” Arcane asks raising an eyebrow.
“I jest son. If he doesn’t come out to meet us, the mandalorians in the cities…well, you have seen our people linch someone before already.” Blitz says.
“You barely joke when it comes to war matters father. In fact, you don’t joke at all. I thought you were really going to bomb them.” Arcane points out.
“Son, you know us mandalorians. You don’t fight us the way we want, we hit you hard like sending meteors raining down on your planet. Which may happen with the Imperials.” Blitz says.
“Do we actually have a choice in sending real meteors?” Arcane asks, noting their powerful magic use and rocket tech.
“Oh, it is quite simple. We just need to use the tractor beam and we can fling them at enemies.” Blitz informs.
“EHHH?!” Arcane calls dumbfounded.
“Heheheh. Never underestimate any system son.” Blitz says.
“Trying not to.” Arcane says dryly.
“Tell your platoon to rest up and prepare for desert combat.” Blitz instructs.
“Yeah, sure.” Arcane says before walking off, scratching his head.
Twenty days had passed somewhat slowly for Arcane on this transport ship. All there was to do was practiceor just wait. After so long, it was starting to get to him. “Okay. That’s it.” Blitz finally said slamming a tablet in front of him. “Call her. At least you won’t be bored that long from all that training and sulking.” He says before walking off.
Arcane blinks confused for a moment as he watches him leave before picking up the tablet and sees that he has already prepared the number. “Maybe I really do need a break once in a while.” Arcane mutters to himself as he calls.
“Hello. Reed family castle. How can I direct your call?” A changeling answers.
“Johnny, I need to speak to Terra.” Arcane says, his mind already finding the name in the hive system.
“Oh, prince. Yes, of course.” Johnny says redirecting it and calling another line.
Arcane taps his hoof nervously as he waits before the call is answered and then a loud yawn calls out. “Who is it?”
“Terra? Are you there?” Arcane asks seeing the dark room.
A light then comes on from a lamp and Arcane sees Terra lying in bed with a messy mane. “Arcane…” Terra says smiling before yawning. “Sorry. You caught me about to sleep. What’s going on?”
Arcane smiles a bit. “Sorry for waking you. I was kinda spending so much time before a mission and the nervousness was starting to get to me.”
Terra giggles as she rubs her eyes. “He was like that too. Always wondering and waiting for the next move. Running a kingdom isn’t easy you know?”
Arcane snarks. “How many times did he bang his head into the wall?”
Terra snarks to herself as well. “I had to pull him out of the wall more times than I could count because I stopped counting.” She says before laughing.
Arcane chuckles at that before sighing. “Missed you Terra. You, mom, and everyone back home.”
Terra smiles at that. “We’re cheering for you. Make sure you don’t die. I don’t think aunty Twilight will like it if you do.”
Arcane smiles as he thinks to how she might react before sighing sadly. “Yeah. I better get back to training for the next battle. Thanks for the talk.”
Terra shrugs. “I’m your mate. Have to take care of you somehow. If a talk is all you need, just call me on…this thing.” Terra says squinting as she twists the tablet around.
Arcane chuckles. “Thanks again Terra. Night.”
“Good night…now how do you hang up again?” Terra asks herself as she pokes the tablet before Arcane does it for her and ends the call.
“All hands, battle stations! Mandalore has arrived.” Blitz calls over the intercom.
Arcane quickly rushes out of his seat and runs out before running back in and grabs his weapons and runs out again.
“The fleet is ready and I am not going to make any speeches. Remember, for the mandalorians, we go to crush the pretender and show all mandalorians who is their leader. As for the pirates and mercenaries, you are all getting paid well.” Boba says simply over the intercom.
“No kidding.” Arcane mutters to himself as he rushes to meet up with his platoon who all seemed to have very high morale hearing that.
“All ships, activate hyperdrives. We go to Mandalore.” Blitz says as he hears the hyperdrive power up.
“Here we go.” Arcane mutters as he enters the bay where most of his platoon are readying their weapons.
“Move out!” Blitz orders and Arcane felt the ship enter hyperspace.
The hyperdrive only lasted about six hours, but already the battle had begun before they had arrived. Arcane guessed the transport, like the one he was on, were told to proceed a little slower to Mandalore so not to be caught and targeted with the battleships that were already fighting.
“Status report.” Blitz demands on the bridge.
“We got three star destroyers and two Keldabe class battleships guarding the planet with eight CR90 corvette escorts. All fighters were launched and are holding even with the enemy’s TIE fighters, but we have already lost six Interceptor IV frigates and four Crusader corvettes.” A communication officer informs.
“I see. All squad leaders, status report. Are your squads ready for launch?” Blitz asks.
“Check. We are a go.” Azure reports before others relay the same response.
“Launch them.” Blitz orders before taking a seat on the captian chair of the hutt pirate ship. “Open an open communications line to the enemy fleet. I want all of them and all of Mandalore to know who we are.” Blitz says.
“Sir, we have a incoming communication from the enemy pirate fleet.” A communication officer says
“Oh, the pirates have had enough already? Open the line.” The imperial captain says with quite a bite of arrogance and smirks, thinking of what he can get from all of this to line his pockets.
Blitz sighs before the line is answered. “Whoever is the captain or leading the fleet in front of us, you have one chance to surrender. Otherwise, we will take action against you. This is your only warning.”
“Surrender? You pirate scum have quiet the ego. You are facing the imperial fleet right now.” The captain says.
There was silence for a bit. “He called us pirates, correct?”
“That’s the derogatory term he called us.”
“Oh…I was hoping my ear wasn’t filled with wax.”
“You speak to Blitzkrieg, second to Mandalore himself worm. We are here to assert his rule over all the clans and destroy all imperial forces. Either leave the system now or be amongst the first to die.” Blitz says simply, chilling many of the pirate crew to the bone having heard of his reputation quite a bit in the hutt cartel.
“I…I don’t have to…”
“Launch the rest of the fleet. I’m done.” Blitz orders and ends the communications line.
“Father, why did you do that?” Arcane asks.
“It was not to talk to the captain. I wanted those on Mandalore to hear it. They were all watching and listening to the battle already. This was just to let them know and to inform the new pretender to the Mandalore title to know who is coming for him. Sabine Wren and her clan has already seen to killing the last one already. I only wish I was there to see Gar Saxon die.” Blitz says as Arcane felt something move in the ship before seeing a few things streak by them.
“Um…was that big brother?” Arcane asks, looking out the window.
“One of those.” Blitz says as the new mechs flew towards the battle while a few positioned themselves in between the fleet.
Arcane watches as the ones positioning themselves in the back with the fleet hold up long rifles with charging rails in the barrels that is now pointed at the imperial fleet. Before he looks over and sees a third group of the mechs stayed behind between the imperial and their fleet, weapons on their backs aiming towards the ships and seems to be charging up.
However, what seems to be the main show is the group of mechs still flying towards the imperial fleet, cannon guns in their hands and gatling guns on their backs. “Isn’t that your mech design, father?” Arcane finally questions, seeing the same thing from all of them, however the ones staying with the fleet has been heavily modified with support for the weapons on their backs.
“Still in field testing stage here.” Blitz says proudly. “And your big brother is leading the charge.”
“Oh…this might be interesting. Can we get a bit of magnification to watch closely? Kinda interested in seeing their actions.” Arcane asks, walking back over to him.
“Magnify the battle.” Blitz orders as the crew of the ship now scrambled to follow his orders. Some of the hidden R&D recording the soon to be battle to take back to their mech factory.
“What the…what the heck am I looking at?!” The imperial captain demands angrily as the mechs came closer, their weapons looking to be priming up.
Azure smirks before his mech opened fire with it’s gatling gun, absolutely shredding a few incoming TIEs. “Terminate them.” Azure instructs.
The rest of the mechs around him immediately flew off in different directions, some going in groups of twos as they held themselves back to back, shooting down many of the TIEs, using their gatling guns to whittle them down while their main cannons in their hands were used to take the finishing shot for the most part. Some just used the gatling guns to take them out completely while others kept using the cannons using the small shields they had brought to just smash them.
“Reckless guys. Try to keep shooting them. Give the lab coat guys a show.” Azure orders shooting a TIE coming at him dead on and makes the shrapnel pass by him. “They really need to upgrade our guns.” Azure adds and tries to fire before nothing happens. “Shit! V!” Azure yells and the mech slams it’s free fist into the gun magazine and loading mechanism, sending off a shot and hitting one of the ship’s shields. “Thanks. So use them all guys. Energy team, give them a blackout.”
“No problem.” The leader of the mid-range team says as they line up and all choose a ship to hit before their EM laser fires and hits the shields, sending out a purple wave along the lit up shield and seems to cut it out before a stray cannon fire hits one and blows up a small part of the corvette.
The mech team staying in the back with the fleet starts to charge up their railguns, each taking aim at a ship with their shields down. A streak of blue light passes by most of the fighting and hits the ships dead on, sending an explosion through three corvettes and small explosions on one of the star destroyers.
The mid-team then charges up their other weapon their back, bringing up slots for what looks like a missile launcher before four lanes open up and something charging at the forefront and then the mechs suddenly opening back a little as the recoil from their streaks of energy shots were sent off. Azure smirks as he watches the streaks fly through the void of space and then strike a single point on the ships of their choosing dead on, some hitting where the railguns have hit and breaking them further towards a scuttle.
“Having fun?” A voice asks.
Azure groans slightly. “Okay V. Back to fighting.”
“Don’t take that tone with me young man.” The AI spoke up.
“Why, oh why did your voice have to be my step mother’s?” Azure asks.
“Because of your little brother. Now then, straighten your back because your neural system needs to have your spine straight as possible to work properly.” V says motherly.
“I keep wanting to call you momma Vinyl, but she would never tell me that. She would have me slouch all day.” Azure says.
“TIE.” V points out and Azure quickly smacks it with a fist in one of its fins and sends it spiraling into one of their corvette ships. “Are these TIEs made of paper mache?”
“No, but they are cheap.” Azure says before shooting them forward to one of the corvette before unloading a few shots into the bridge.
The corvette seems to dip in space as the bridge goes up in flames. Leading to some photon torpedoes coming from their side and strike some of the damaged parts and makes it explodes into large pieces. Azure turns to the far support mechs and sees two with bright hot photon blasters on their backs. “Keep it offline for a minute or two. That thing is way too close to the energy tank and we don’t want them to go off.”
“Calculations complete. There is a fifty-three percent chance that the marked starfighters will start trying to divert to the heavy support.” V says as several TIEs started to gain a thick red outline.
Azure smirks. “Mid-range, show them your strikes for close encounters.”
The mid-range mechs holds up their guns in their hands that seems to be a large bulky type with a large drum in it as a magazine. They immediately get their targets from Azure and aim before firing off some heavy brutal up close shots of shotgun blasts in quick succession and shreds the TIEs as they came by close enough, sending some careening off to the side and explode. However, two of the mechs had their guns suddenly blow up in their face and sent hot pellets everywhere, destroying the gun beyond usability.
“Dammit! I sometimes hate new tech. Alright, get behind the rest. Only use your main VS weapons.” Azure orders quickly as the two put their guns behind on their hips.
“Azure. Target this ship. I want that bridge destroyed.” Blitz says sending him a target with the imperial in command’s ship was.
Azure looks over before V calculated the weak points. “Copy.” Azure quickly steers the mech toward the capital ships, some mid-range mechs giving some EM blasts at the shields and knocks out areas of it. Azure grins as he flies in close to the hull and follows the shield receding as he fires off random shots from his cannon into the hull just to keep damaging it. He flies toward the ship bay and starts to fire off gatling gun shots everywhere he can, damaging the bay areas while shooting his cannon at the hinge lines lining the walls, damaging each and every one before flying up to the bridge. Azure smirks as he stares the windows as the shields dissipate over it while the EM fire blast the area around him and hurried the shield along. Azure then holds up his cannon before letting off some shots and firing off the gatling guns at the same time, filling the glass full of holes and shredding the bridge.
“I told you. You should have surrendered.” Blitz says coming on the communication line before cutting it off just as quick as the captain looks shocked at the mech firing into the room before a shot hits him in the chest, leaving a giant gaping hole there, sending him to the ground before the bridge decompresses, sending the rest of the bridge occupants screaming as they are sucked into space where they are violently killed via explosive decompression.
“Done.” Azure says before looking to the gun as some bodies float by. “The chain is jammed. I need to head back and get it fixed.” Azure says and flies back to the docking ship.
“To all remaining ships. I know you are filled with mandalorians. Defect to the forces of Mandalore or you will be executed where you are.” Blitz says with all the menace that he could muster, making Azure and Arcane smile, knowing they had heard a great deal worse from their mothers.
Azure sighs as he docks into the ship as some come back and grabs some backup weapons while a robot arm grabs his gun and takes it away to a processing table. “Well, dad? Did they?”
“They are not responding. All ships, fighters, and titans, advanced. Focus all fire on the nearest Keldabe battleship.” Blitz says.
Arcane sighs and shakes his head disappointed at that as the firepower of the entire fleet starts to shred and obliterate the Keldabe battleship. “Too bad. But then, they would have stabbed us in the back.”
“Any questions?” Blitz says over the open channel one more time and many notice one of the two remaining star destroyers turning and powering up it’s hyperdrive.
“Um…dad?” Arcane points out as many of the weapons turns toward it, ready to fire on command.
“Ignore it. Target the ones still firing.” Blitz says noticing that a few of the TIEs had broken off and were fleeing for the planet.
All firepower turns to whoever is firing back now, destroying and shredding them. Arcane then sees Azure’s mech fly off to meet up with his line of forces and Arcane turns to Blitz. “So…this is what you have been hiding…not bad.”
“These are basically fielded prototypes. All ships, form a blockade and transports, start heading down.” Blitz says getting up.
“What’s the next big plan for me?” Arcane asks curiously.
“It’s your turn.” Blitz says leading him to a transport.
“Okay then.” Arcane says simply as he follows his father.
“Start the landing.” Blitz says.
“Lieutenant, is it finally time for us to deploy?” A private asks Arcane as he walked up.
Arcane hums a bit before looking over his platoon. “Yes. We are in the first wave. So make sure you have everything. Don’t want to leave a single ammo pack behind when it can save your life.”
“Suit up. First wave departing.” A sergeant calls as the transports took off.
“That’s our cue.” Arcane calls out and watches as his platoon walks to the transports.
“Yes it is.” Blitz says getting in the transport with two sith flanking him.
“Dad.” Arcane says simply, watching his platoon get on the transport. “Are you ready?”
“More than ready.” Blitz says as many of Arcane’s platoon were now uptight and nervous with Mandalore’s second riding with them.
Arcane sighs. “Just don’t hit by a shot…old man. We kinda love to see the commander only doing a return fire.” Arcane jokes slightly as he smirks.
“Just try to keep up.” Blitz informs as Arcane puts on his helmet and waits for the initial rocking of defensive fire on them, but it never came.
“No defense.” Arcane simply stated instead of a question.
“No. I have prepared even for this battle.” Blitz says as they soon land and at the entrance, were five mandalorians in full armor with insignias that Arcane knew were not apart of their forces.
“Clan Bryt is with you.” One of them informs.
“Clan Rook is with you.” Another says.
“Clan Eldar is with you.” Another says.
“Clan Kryze is with you.” Another says.
“Clan Vizsla is with you.” The female one in front says, finishing the five addressing Blitz.
“Good. Let’s begin.” Blitz informs, walking with the five with his two sith following.
“The clans all know what is coming. Most are staying neutral while clan Desh and Genta are supporting the traitors. The only ones who are showing public support with clan Saxon now.” One of them informs as they walk with Blitz.
“Then they will die.” Blitz informs.
“We have already prepared a forward base and our clans tell us where you need us.” The clan Eldar’s representative says.
“I want you to put pressure on the neutral clans for now. Discourage them from aiding the fake mandalore. As for you showing the support immediately, I will ask Mandalore himself to divide all assets of the three traitorous clans amongst yourselves.” Blitz informs.
“That would be helpful on our end.” The representative agrees on.
“Mandalore was also quite clear he doesn’t want to see the traitor alive.” Blitz informs
“Understood.” They all say, knowing what that meant.
“This is battalion Sypher. We are encountering stiff imperial resistance.” A turian calls over the coms as they were exchanging fire with a regiment of storm troopers with an AT-ST providing support.
“Try to hold out. We are sending you backup.”
“We can’t. They are trying to push us back.” The turian calls over the radio as the heavy blaster they were trying to set up was blasted by the AT-ST, destroying it and the three trying to set it up. “Shit. They are tearing us apart. We need help now!” The turian calls again before something hits the AT-ST, blowing the head up and sending it falling over. Crushing a few hapless stormtroopers who were either too slow or not paying attention.
“Will this do?” Arcane asks over the radio as his transport flies over the area and back higher into the sky to escape the foot troopers blaster fire. “We can punch through and make a hole for you. All you have to do is get through.”
“Alright. Punch the hole!” The turian calls as his regiment rallies and starts firing back at the stormtroopers more.
“You heard the guy.” Arcane says back to the team behind him and the pilot turns around to make a pass and to let the team make the hole the turian regiment need.
“This city seems to not want to fall.” One of the privates comments as he snipes a commanding officer in the head.
“Well…what else do you think will happen when you have a planet that gives a great terraforming test bed area? I mean, just imagine the tech that can come out when they turn the atmosphere against us…oh wait. My species already do that…hmm…” Arcane hums as he looks through the weapon racks before taking out another rifle with a scope on it and quickly changes the private’s gun to let him quickly look through it. “I know. But this one can track heads when shooting. Gotta love some old style tech on new laser gun.”
“Lieutenant, we have finally overrun the city’s town hall.” The private carrying communication equipment says.
“Good. That can help bring down a little morale.” Arcane says as he thinks of the plan and what else to help along as a hole in the line is made for the turnian.
“Jetpack enemies!” One of them calls, opening up with the heavy blaster at the incoming enemies.
Arcane looks over and sees some mandalorian jumpback forces coming at them and firing off blasters. Arcane quickly slides the door close and they hear the blaster fire hitting it. “Okay. Wasn’t expecting that part…” Arcane notes before taking out a hand blaster before opening the door again and they start firing at the jet packers in the air, making it a bit hard to move around as they kept firing closer and closer. “Give a tracking shot…turn it on!” Arcane yells to the sniper and he looks to the scope before flipping a switch and starts to track the jet packers as they move around. After the team hears a beep, a shot from the sniper is left from them and hits one of them in the head, sending him down. “Get the rest. The rest of us, keep those guys from landing and on us. We can’t let them get back to forcing the other teams to move back.”
“I wonder how the batarians are doing at the other city?” One of the privates questions as they kept trying to blast them out of the sky.
“They must be having just as hard of a time. I know the pirates are being used as fodder to route or slow down relief forces to the cities.” Arcane informs before using the force to send many of the jetpack troops into a wall head first to snap their necks.
“Raider platoon, come in.” The comms says.
“Raider platoon here, what’s going on?” Arcane asks into the comms as he kept firing.
“We have another call for aide for you in sector four. Get over there.” The comm says.
“Copy. You heard the man. Stop playing around.” Arcane calls out before they all closed in the gap of blaster fire and killed the rest of the jet packers before shutting the door and flying off.
Thus, the battles over the planet raged as, after a few more hours, the city finally fell to the turians. “Raider platoon, come in.” The comms answered as Arcane wiped his brow.
“Raider here.” Arcane answered as his platoon looks over the captured city.
“Get everyone to move up immediately. The pretender has been spotted at sector forty-five.” The comm reports.
“Thanks for the info. We’ll get over there soon.” Arcane responds before looking to his platoon now readying their weapons. “Don’t muck about. Let’s get moving.” He orders and the transports start to fly to the sector.
“What is it Lieutenant?” One of the privates asks.
“We found the pretender. They ordered us to move and get there now. Don’t mess around with this one.” Arcane says as he looks over the group.
“Whoa. Did the pirates do that?” One of the turians said after a while, spotting a battlefield in the desert with craters and many dead bodies everywhere.
Arcane hums as they all look over. “Would be miracle if they did…but I somehow doubt it.”
“Then who did that, the batarians?” The turian asks as they fly by the smoking wreck of a AT-AT.
“Nope…I know only other group that can do all this.” Arcane says sighing.
“You don’t mean the commander’s two regiments did all of this?” The turian asks in shock as many others were looking out the windows to see this now.
“Who else would leave a smoking AT-AT with a giant hole in it while none of their own forces behind?” Arcane asks to them.
“There has to be some of our side down there somewhere.” Another turian says before they come to the end of the battlefield.
“Don’t doubt those two regiments. They can handle things a lot better than we do and they are of my father’s personal forces.” Arcane admits.
“Your father? Southern Cross?” One of his subordinates asks.
“Yeah, he is my dad.” Arcane informs before they heard an explosion and were rocked by the concussion wave following it.
“What was that?” Another asks.
“All hands, get ready. We are coming in hot to a fire fight!” The pilot yells.
“You heard him!” Arcane calls, getting up and holds onto the parachute bar. “Ready your weapons and start shooting back. You die at the door, I’m not forgiving you.”
“Sir!” His men calls.
The back door soon opened as they felt their transport wobble from an explosion and see a stream of smoke coming from it. “Jump now!” Arcane orders.
The hanger door opens up and they all run to the exit and jump out the ship, activating their jetpack thrusters to slow their fall, their blasters already firing off at any of the enemies they can see that are firing back at them.
The battle was raining hellfire as there was blaster fire everywhere with the imperials were desperately trying to hold on as their walkers were destroyed by seemingly invisible weapons as quickly as they get them to the front along with seemingly random parts of their defensive line. Arcane got his men into formation as quickly as he could seeing this. Then, he saw it. The last remaining star destroyer that had escaped the battle starting to defend, many parts of it ablaze as fighters and bombers made continuous runs on it as it was starting to get close to crashing.
“That should hurt morale.” Arcane noted as he gives a few shots back from his cover while keeping a lookout over his soldiers.
“Do it.” A voice says over the communicators before a string of explosions is heard before as a few buildings start to collapse on the defensive line.
“And that’s another morale dropper.” Arcane also noted before firing a few more shots and hits two of them.
“Charge!” A sith officer calls and soon all the mandalorians started to charge forward, either running or jetpack, blasting fleeing imperials or those with imperial allegiance.
“And we have won.” Arcane sighs as he keeps firing where he was before coming out of cover and starts to walk and carefully snipe the backs of the imperials running away and trying to fire back blindly.
The closest ones go down first as the fire clears up the retreating forces. All before a fire starts to come in from the other side and forces the enemy to move back before they are gunned down and then slowly surrender as they have no more ways out. Some even choosing to commit suicide before the mandalorian forces could reach them.
Blitz was walking down a hallway, his two sith bodyguards and six more sith and mandalorians following till he came to a sealed door before blowing it in. The bodyguards and soldiers moved like lightning into the command room, killing all but Tiber Saxon. Blitz says nothing as he lifts the imperial governor and pretender to the title of mandalore with a force choke. “Mandalore wishes to see you.”
As Blitz did this, his followers started to sabotage the enemy, sending bad orders intentionally and shutting down what they could.
A few hours later at the castle of the capital, cameras were lined up, thinking that Blitz would make a speech to the mandalorians, but instead Boba Fett, Mandalore himself, stepped up to the podium.
“I’m not going to give you a speech like the rebels do. I’m going to give you facts and truths.” Bobba says as he looks over the assembled crowd of mandalorians. “I have the helmet of Mandalore, we all know what that means.” He says, holding up the damaged helmet for all to see. “And this…” he continues as a man with a bag over his head is dragged out by a pair of heavily armed and armored mandalorians, “is the pretender Tiber Saxon…” He says before whipping out a blaster and shooting Tiber in the head once then in his body multiple times after he had fallen over. “I do not tolerate traitors to our people…and so that means we have a war to fight…a long and bloody one, like the crusades of old. Brothers and sisters of Mandalore, we must go to the aid of the Citadel Alliance. They have fought valiantly against the failing and sluggish beast that is the empire.” He finishes before looking at the body of Tiber Saxon with disdain. “Do not fail us as this one has…” He finishes before turning and walking off stage.
What proceeded was uprooting and looting of everything that could be taken with them. All of MandalMotors uprooted itself bringing all the inventory and partially finished, weapons, ammo, and vehicles and loaded them onto the ships the pirates had brought onto the planets of the system. The ships that were spaceworthy and had a hyperdrive were also used to transport mandalorians themselves. After which, every building and structure were destroyed by either the ships or explosives the mandalorians themselves planted. With that, all the ships entered hyperspace, heading straight to the allied allies and more than four million mandalorian men, women, and children entered the alliance, following their Mandalore.
“Let’s go get all the gear unloaded.” One of Blitz’s regiments officer’s orders to the rest as they unload all the equipment they brought back. The majority of the ships had kept going deeper into allied territory.
Arcane meanwhile was looking over his men. He had fought the biggest battle yet and sighs in relief that he and most of his men made it through alive.
He shakes his head lightly at the graves of helmets and guns littered about. He sighs as he looks at them all and doesn’t realize that he changed into his pony form. Only when a hand being placed on his shoulder made him stop and look beside him to see another mandalorian looking towards him and leads him to look at himself before changing back.
“I bet they are laughing their asses off they were lead by a children’s fairy tale while the enemy is turning it into a nightmare.” The mandalorian chuckles at.
Arcane cracks a smile and shakes his head amused. “Yeah. Maybe they are taking shots every time the enemy does a double take and leads them to get shot.”
“So you going to go get some sleep at the barracks?” The mandalorian asks.
“Yeah. Need a little shut eye and I would be back on my hooves.” Arcane replies.
“What about your men?” The mandalorian asks.
Arcane sighs and looks at them all. “They deserve whatever rest they can get. I swear…the thing they wish the most at the moment, is a hot shower and a soft bed.”
“Not like them, are they?” The mandalorian asks guestering to Blitz’s personal soldiers again.
Arcane shakes his head. “No. Battle-hardened is more a curse than anything. Not a war hero status. Just a title that follows you wherever you go. My men should count themselves lucky they are not at that stage yet. Better in battle…but in life, that’s a rarity.”
It was a few days later when Arcane was called into a meeting with many other lieutenants and captain of the infantry. “At ease.” A lieutenant colonel sith turian instructs, getting to the front.
Arcane sighs as he sits down in one of the many chairs for all of the fighters in the room as the screen lit up with maps and drawings.
“We now have a new offensive in the works,” the officer informs, getting Arcane to straighten up, now knowing he had to pay close attention. “Most of the fleet will be staying here to continue strengthening and building up our foothold while three detachments will be sent to attack the sectors of Velcar, Albarrio, and Cassander. We will be under general Blitzkrieg attacking the Albarrio sector,” the officer informs, making Arcane make a note to study up on the Albarrio sector before being shipped out as the officer started going over intelligence they had on the moth and the garrisons.
Arcane hums as he looks up the general information on the systems in the sector that everyone would have access too. “Fourteen systems, huh?” Arcane says aloud before clicking on the first. “Akbarrio system. Number of planets is three. The only habitable one is Aris. Aris is mostly composed of forests and rainforests with a friendly species of monkey like scavengers. Population is around three million.” Arcane reads before clicking the next, deciding to go by alphabetical.
“Ancathia system. Number of planets, three. Number of habitable ones…one again. Anciathia is an ocean world. Oh, that will be fun for whoever fights there.” Arcane says sarcastically before continuing. “Breathable atmosphere, population eighty-one thousand. Temperatures, comfortable for most species…may not be a bad beach home planet.” Arcane says looking at some pictures of the planet to see that the land was a few islands before continuing. “No known intelligent native life. The system has an asteroid belt.” Arcane reads.
“Anemcoro system, three planets…all but Anemcoro itself has two moons each. Temperature cold. About negative four to twenty all the time, huh? That calls for cold climate gear. Mostly being terraformed, huh? Looks like the empire is trying to make Anemcoro more comfortable to humans. No problem with the atmosphere it seems and the government is, of course, an imperial governorship. The population is around four million.” Arcane reads before moving on.
“Alright. Next is Bar Neth system. Five suns…holy…niece. Five planets...two are gas giants, two habitable planets, and has an asteroid belt. Bar Neth, a terraformed desert planet. Now an agricultural world and popular tourist attraction.” Arcane reads seeing many advertisements like zero g golf and stuff. “This will be a high priority for dad for the farms and stuff.” Arcane says to himself before continuing onto the other planet. “Ergin…a wetland planet of average temperatures…it’s a swamp planet…and apparently an abandoned colony to boot.” Arcane reads.
I would say low to medium so that the big guns don’t scare off tourists?yeah
“Dibrook system…two planets. None habitable.” Arcane says skimming
“Haverling system. Three planets. One habitable…Haverling…forest like planet. Average temperatures. Breathable…has a shipyards?” Arcane asks, having stopped skimming to double check. “They do…though their population is only around ninety thousand.” Arcane says finishing reading about it.
“Marmoth system. Four planets with one habitable. Marmoth is a plateau-like planet. Average temperatures from thirty to fifty-six degrees celsius. The population is seven million and…whoa, this is a major production planet.” Arcane reads. “This will be a major fight. Dad will want to take this and the imperials will fight tooth and nail for it.” Arcane comments, adding it to the notes he was taking to give to his platoon.
“Morishim system. Six planets. One of them habitable…Morishim…mountainous…comfortable temperatures. Atmosphere is good. Native species is the Morish a short, furry, loud-voiced species.” Arcane reads, not seeing much of value on the system.
“Moskk system…two planets each with a moon. Neither are habitable.” Arcane reads.
“Quintus system. Two planets. One is ice, the other…a volcanic one that is colonized?” Arcane read surprised before starting to read more, now interested. “Deria temperature…comfortable for most, that is a shocker. Guess dragons would love this planet. Atmosphere is Type IV…looking that up real quick. Type IV atmospheres are not only poisonous, but they are so reactive that they will cause injury to persons who are exposed to it. Environment suits, spacesuits or life-support equipment is required to venture through the atmosphere, or characters will suffer burns and other grievous injuries. If the planet is frigid, a thermal suit may be necessary. These atmospheres may also be flammable or highly explosive…still might be habitable for them or even the Krogan. Population is three thousand and the government on the planet is tribal, huh? I wonder if the krogan could do well here?”
“Reynon system. Four planets with one habitable and has an asteroid belt. A cave world…this planet is dominated by an immense network of caves running throughout the crust. These caves are often caused by volcanic activity, and if the activity is ongoing, areas can quickly become dangerous as lava and toxic gases return to fill the caves they created.” Arcane reads looking up a definition for the classification for a planet. “Temperatures…another cold climate planet. I can see why they live in the cave systems. And, oh look, imperial governorship.”
“Scipio system…I think that is the headquarters of the banking clan…three planets with Scipio being the only habitable one…it is a frigid climate and mountainous terrain…this is the headquarters after all. I wonder if the one in charge of this sector has raided all the vaults on the planet yet.” Arcane says before moving on.
“Sinjan system…no habitable planets. Next. Oh, I am at the last…I saved you for a reason. Mygeeto system four planets…one habitable with an asteroid field. Mygeeto, a frigid mountainous planet with…crystallized glaciers? Whoa. I wonder if there will be any Kyber crystals to be found there? Looks like this is also going to be a major target if what I am reading is accurate.” Arcane says jotting some of it down.
