The Planet of Eden

by Antylamon
All of a brilliant scientist's hopes of space exploration are exceeded, but complications arise...

The year is 2101. A government scientist has begun fulfilling his lifelong dream: locating a sentient species away from Earth. Countless years later, he stumbles across the discovery of his lifetime. It's the perfect planet: Its surface is similar to Earth's, it has endless indications of life, and it even has a moon. But does he really want what he wished for?

(Please elaborate on all dislikes with a comment. A dislike with no words is useless and doesn't help me write a better story.)

(In memory of Sensei John, June 22nd 2012. He was my karate teacher who not only taught me how to defend myself, but helped me discover that there's more to life than having the right answer. He also taught me that karate is not simply defending oneself, but rather an art of discipline which can bring out the best in people. I have never used my knowledge of karate to protect myself against any person, but Sensei John helped me develop as a person to an extent that only my parents can hope to rival.)
