10 years later, Changeling Everfree Hive.

I awoke to the sound of the hive mother's callings, groaning I rolled out of my pod, and stretched, a few bones popped back into place. I looked around my room I shared with my caretaker, Crystal Heart, It was simple, toys of an age long past sat on a slightly rotted shelf that was more changeling goop than wood, a table sized for small foals with four chairs sat stacked in one corner, two pods of green goop, one hanging from the ceiling the other was on the floor.

The Hive mother called again, I hovered next to Crystal's pod making sure she did in fact go ahead, after that I rushed to the throne room, The Hive mother was waiting for me, I stood at the foot of the throne, Crystal was there as well, she gave me a look, then looked back to the hive mother, who started to speak in Changeling, Changeling is an odd language,to an outsider, mostly clicks and chirps backed by thought, not the most easy to learn on the fly, especially if you lack the organs to make the sounds and the skill to project thought.

"You finally decided to join us, godling" She said, oh how i just hated that nickname, she knew it too, thats why she used it.

"Forgive me Hive mother, I didn't hear your call the first time" I said, The Hive mother just shook her head, "Very well child"

Crystal Spoke up "Hive mother why did you wish to speak with us?"

The Hive mother smiled and projected an image of the edge of the territory into our minds, 3 ponies moved deeper "Our scouts have reported a EUP hunt squad is entering our territory, i think this a golden time for you to see the world, Thus you will go with them"

I was speechless, all my life was spent hiding from the guild, now the hive mother wanted me to waltz out of here and DIE?

The look on both Crystal and the hive mother faces was amusement, oh I thought that loudly, Getting my thoughts into check, the hive mother said "No dear child you will live as you always do, but under the form of a Unicorn you understand Mary sue?"

I nodded numbly, I liked my wings, the image of a young unicorn, straight blond mane, gray fur, I liked my glowing hair, but this was for the better. Out of the corner of my eye i saw Crystal nod, Hive mother must be giving her the one on one, stupid hive mind. I closed my eyes and started to cast the shifting spell.

Changeling shifting magic was....strange, in the old times only 2 or 3 ponies ever been able to use it, I imagined my self down to every last detail, my wings,my horn, my eyes, my fur, my mane, down to the parts that between my hind legs no book i could find seemed to know about, then I imagined who is was going to be, overlayed the 2 images over in my mind and cut away everything that didn't belong, there was a warm feeling as my wings closed and sunk into my skin, an itch in my mane as it went from golden locks to straight blond. All over my body small ticks and itches covered it, then they stopped, I snapped open my eyes, a few golden flames that covered me went out.

Crystal was covered in pink flames for a moment then an earth pony mare took her place, she had white fur, blue hair, and big pink eyes, there was 2 flowers in her mane Crystal frown, then in 2 small burst of pink ,a pair of wings on unfolded and refolded on her sides. The Hive mother nodded and then said "now go my children, see the horrors of this world for your self."

Emotions have energy, each emotion has a different energy to it, there once was a hive mother by the name of Chrysalis, Who thought she could feed her hive with only love, the sweetest of all of emotion, that didn't end well for her, after awhile she was changed, but still latched on to love. Learning to control emotions was a part of training for changelings, thank the mother, I still have trouble keeping mine in check, but I've been getting the hang of it....i think.

We waited by a fallen tree, we were covered in mud and cuts, we had set our stories straight, I heard the Hunters near by, swallowing we stumbled out from behind the log. One of the hunters swore, and something whizzed past my ear. I swallowed, they had guns. Guns came to be at the end of the rule of the monarchy...or was it a diarchy?, anyway, They were more deadly than arrows, even worse, you could shoot gems loaded with all kinds of nasty spells.

"The ruddy hell are you thinking GemShot? It's 2 foals" an Earth pony said. He was a dark brown, with blond hair. GemShot,a green pegasi male with brown hair, scowled "I Think they are Some of the shifters, what do you think Screech?"

Screech, the unicorn, shook her head. She circled around us. On her neck was a collar, her fur was a white color, and her mane and tail were once blonde, but now were a reddish color. She scared me. After she was done with her look, she pulled out a pad of paper and scribbled something on it; GemShot did not look happy. "Fine we'll let them talk, but if you're wrong you both will own me," He said before turning to us "alright girls, tell us your names"

I opened my mouth then closed it, I had no clue how to speak equestrian, understanding it was one thing, making the sounds was another beast. I looked over to Crystal, she sighed.

"My name is Crystal Heart, this is my younger sister Aura Heart" She said, I glared at her. I understood the need for fake names, but still, why did she get to keep her name and night use mine?

"Why won’t she speak?" GemShot said, Snapping my attention back to the Hunters.

"Because she's too stupid to say much" Crystal said, with a grin. I swing at her, she ducked.

"Hey, quit it you two" GemShot yelled pulling us apart. "Why are you two out here anyways?"

"Well...we were getting away" she said

"From?"

"Our mother,"

"Why?"

"Well, she wants the world back to the way it was when the Alicorns ruled everything, so we ran away" Crystal said.

The Hunters looked at each other then huddled, they talked in hushed whispers. I looked to Crystal and stuck my tongue out at her, she made a rude movement in reply. We sat back in attention when the Hunters returned. "Fine, will take you back to Ponyville, but if you cause any trouble, you'll regret it," GemShot said and began to walk, we followed. I looked over to the earth pony, he had been quiet the whole encounter. I poked him in the side gently, he looked at me. "What do you want love?" He said, his accent was...charming. I thought for a moment before attempting to say "What is your name," instead it came out "Whaoh ih woor namm"

He smiled, I blushed, why was talking so hard? "My name is Mac,"

After a while we exited the forest. On the edge of it was a worn down cottage, we walked past it in to town. The three Hunters left us and made their way back to there base. We made our way to the center of town, there was a big board in the center. On it was posters of ponies, all looking impressive, and scary. I pointed them out the out to Crystal. She read them and found. She pointed to a poster that was slightly larger than the others, on it was a purple unicorn next to her head was her cutie mark under it in big letters was.

WANTED FOR HIGH TREASON: AZUL SPARKLE DEAD OR ALIVE

Crystal whispered into my ear, "That's the unicorn that brought you to the hive,"

I nodded and clicked back "What do we do now? It's not like we have anywhere to go."

Then a paper blew into my face, I pulled it off, annoyed by the plot covenant paper "Now looking for new members of the Alicorn Hunters."

I showed it to Crystal who rolled her eyes "Alright fine lets check out the magical piece of paper"
