"OH NO OH NO OH NO OH NO OH NO!!!" a certain purple unicorn mare screamed, as she ran to find her fellow assistant Spike, a purple and green teenage dragon, hatched by none other than Twilight Sparkle.
"What is it Twi? It's only 7:00," a sleepy dragon mumbled, as he covered his head with his pillow.
"Spike! This is serious I can't find my letter on friendship that I need to send to Princess Celestia! She'll never forgive me! I'll have to go back to magic kindergarten!"
"Twilight, you left it in between those encyclopedias. Just like last time." Spike said matter-of-factly. Twilight scampered over to the bookshelf to see if Spike was right.
"OhSpikeitistherehowcouldIhaveforgottenIjustnoticeditwasn'tonmybedsidetablewhereIthoughtI'dleftitandstartedpanickingwhenitwasn't themmphf! Spike had rushed to put a claw to over Twilight's mouth.
"Calm down Twi. I am going to remove my claw from your mouth. Then I want you to take deeeep breaths. Understand?" Twilight nodded and Spike removed his claw. Twilight took deep breaths and started to calm down. Spike swore, sometimes it felt like he was taking care of her more than she was taking care of him.
"Thanks, Spike. I just don't know what's been wrong with me lately. I've been sort of over the top."
"You don't say," Spike said sarcastically, his eyes opened wide with mock astonishment.
"Oh, Spike! I don't know what I'd do without you," the purple mare smiled and retrieved the scroll from her bookshelf holding her encyclopedias.
"Me neither," said Spike, under his breath.
"Hey, are you getting smart with me?" Twilight joked raising an eyebrow. Spike laughed and took the scroll Twilight was levitating with her magic then proceeded to send it to Princess Celestia with a whoosh of fiery green flame. Twilight's eyes lit up as she thought of something that she and Spike could enjoy together. "Hey Spike, lets head over to Sugarcube Corner to see PInkie Pie and we might grab some gem cupcakes. Mr. and Mrs.Cake had started to make gem cupcakes just for Spike, thanks to the huge discovery of thousands of the jewels in a Ponyville mine, gems were no longer expensive and they were able to get hold of some easily.
"Would I ever?!" Spike hurried to the door motioning Twilight to come on. " Don't worry Twi, I'll pay for it with my own bits," Spike said, seeing Twilight grab her pouch of bits. He had worked at Applejacks farm as a summer job, even though Applejack insisted the Apple family didn't need help, Spike had worked hard and AJ had paid him a good amount of bits and a couple apple pies.
"Spike' you are such the gentledragon!" A few minutes later they arrived at the sweetshop and ordered two gem cupcakes, with extra gems of course. Mrs.Cake came over to the table Twilight and Spike were sitting next to, and sat down the tray of shiny, almost blinding delicacies. "Here ya go now." Mrs.Cake said cheerfully," this ones on the house."
"Oh, Mrs.Cake you really shouldn't have!" said a rather suprised Spike," Wow Mrs.Cake! I don't know how to thank you!"
"You can thank me by eating that there plate o' cakes for me!" Mrs. Cake winked, then returned to her post behind the counter. Meanwhile, Spike was devouring the crunchy and sweet cakes with no mercy.
"Spike! Have some manners!" Twilight tried to say sternly, even though she was giggling to hard to keep a straight face.
"Do I here somepony laughing?! said an energetic pink pony with a darker pink frizzy mane. "Oh, hey Twilight! Wasn't expecting to see you here this morning! You don't mind if I sit with you, do you? Saturdays are usually pretty slow, and I've got nothing but time on my hooves!"
"Of course you can sit with us Pinkie! How are you?" Suddenly Pinkie's ears, eyes, and tail started to spaz out in a series of frenzied flicks and twitches.1
"Oh, I'm fine," Pinkie looked around to make sure nopony else was eavesdropping and urgently whispered, " But I've got a bad feeling something bad is going to happen Twilight! And soon! Very soon!"
