The Album is the 1982 debut album of singer-songwriter-comedian Cheese Sandwich, released on Arista Records. It was said to have filled the comedic part of the gap following the Applejack's having left the label in 1981, during which time the album was being recorded.

The album was recorded within less than a week in August 1981 at RCA Studio EQ-M in Manehattan and was produced by Babs Seed and Apple Bloom, who would produce him from that point until 1992. It was arranged by Pinkie Pie, who has arranged all of his albums since then and began producing him in 1992. On this LP, he parodies internationally well-known groups Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, and Blondie, and equally well-known artists Billy Joel and Rick James. Originally, it was to include a parody of Meat Loaf's "Dead Ringer For Love"; although Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf had a good enough sense of humor to give him permission to do the parody, the recording was subsequently presented to CBS (the label of the song's origin), who denied such permission because the parody was recorded at a rival RCA studio; Cheese Sandwich later remarked called this statement "hypocritical" since the original wasn't recorded at a CBS studio either. Original songs are also on this album (most memorably "Are You Still Loving Me" and "Let Me Introduce Me"). All of the songs on this album feature an accordion.

Babs Seed credits this album, which peaked at #14 on the American Billboard 200 and #5 on the Equestrian Long-Playing Records Chart, as being the one that helped the quick recovery of herself and her cousin as producers after the end of the disco era (during which they produced a lot of the hits in the Disco era that originated in the EQ), while also stating that it made them "lucky disco artists and/or producers", especially since there were very few disco artists/producers who were successful in the '80s.
