An earth shattering shudder went through the palace, knocking vases of stands and paintings from walls. The throne Cadence was about to sit on exploded into darkness, slowly spreading down from the throne, and onto the floor in front, and outlining a square on the floor, which soon dissolved into a dark staircase. Cadence knew it was the secret that Sombra had hidden while he was in power, but it wasn’t meant to open on its own. A deafening roar was heard from the bottom of the pit, which shook the ground and started rushing down the black stairs. Another roar, and the stairs shook again. Cadence tripped, and tumbled down half the stairs. She could barely move. She saw what was at the bottom of the stairs. What was causing the roar. What was indeed, King Sombra. A horn glowed. A black crystal grew. A gasp was heard. And darkness fell.
