Octavia saw her phone ring.
"Should I answer it? No. I'm done with her. She's let me down too many times. I can't stand her." Octavia thought as she hung up the phone. She packed up from the concert, before heading home.
Vinyl sat on the couch in her recording studio, staring at her phone. With her good eye at least.
"Here's the ice you wanted. That guard sure did his job good." Neon said to Vinyl, handing her ice for her black eye. She put the ice on her eye. They both had their shades off.
"Why am I such an idiot?" Vinyl asked out loud.
"You're not an idiot Vinyl." Neon said, sitting down next to her.
"I always fuck up everything. She was always there for me, but I can't be there for her." Vinyl said, starting to tear up.
"Don't be hard on yourself. You tried to get into the concert. Heck, you gave that guard enough bruises, his entire coat could've been black and blue."
"I still didn't get in Neon. She won't answer her phone and she won't listen to me."
"I'll go talk to her. Just hang in there okay." Neon said, getting up and leaving the house.
"Yeah." Vinyl said, her voice dull and lifeless. She looked at photos of her and Octavia. The memories and betrayal pained her too much. She threw her phone at the wall, smashing it, yelling at the top of her lungs.
"IM SORRY OCTAVIA! IM SO SO SORRY! IM AN AWEFUL FRIEND! CELESTIA KILL ME!" she shouted. She thought about doing what she did the last time she was heartbroken.
Neon ran to Octavia's as fast as he could. He knew what Vinyl might do to herself. He knocked on the door.
"Octavia. Come with me now. Hurry, before Vinyl does something terrible!"
"I don't want to see her." Octavia said, closing the door.
"TOO BAD!" Neon levitated Octavia to the house and ran.
"HEY! PUT ME DOWN!" Little did they know Vinyl was already doing something bad.
"She hates you." a voice in her head whispered. It sounded like her, only more sinister.
"No, she'll listen."
"No she won't. You saw how mad she was when you couldn't make it. She'll never forgive you, you worthless piece of junk."
Stop! No! She'll understand!"
"She didn't seem to understand when you tried to explain yourself before. She didn't bother to answer your call."
"You're right. I can't do this. She won't listen no matter how hard I try to explain myself." Vinyl said.
"You can end the pain of you want. Make her feel the pain she caused you." the voice said. Vinyl was no longer in control of her actions.
She walked into the kitchen grabbing a piece of paper and a pen. Her tears stained the letter as she was writing.

If you're reading this, then I'm probably gone. I'm sorry I wasn't there to support you. I swear to Celestia, I tried my hardest to get into the concert. The stupid bodyguard wouldn't let me in. Its not like you'd miss me anyways. Tell Neon Lights not to cry or worry. I'm sure the album will come out great, even if it's just him. Don't stop making music. I'm sorry I'm a terrible friend. I love you Octy. I always have. I just never had the courage to tell you. I may look tough, but on the inside I'm a coward. I'll miss you guys. Don't forget about me.

She grabbed a knife from the drawer and made some cuts on her hoof, tears streaming out of her eyes. Blood rushed to the tiled, white floor. As this was happening, Neon was so close to the house. Octavia was struggling to get out of his grasp. Vinyl figured the process was taking too long, so she brought the knife close to her neck. Neon ran in, and what he saw made him drop Octavia. She had started cutting her neck. Blood dropped from her hoof and neck, making the white tiles, red.
"VINYL!" he shouted, running towards her. He turned her head, and fainted. Neon held her.
"N.... Neon?" she breathed.
"OCTAVIA, CALL 9-1-1!" Octavia picked up the phone and dialed the number.
"9-1-1, what's your emergency?"
"Hi. My friend tried to commit suicide and passed out! We're by Sugarcube corner, the third house in the left." Octavia said into the phone, her hooves shaking and her eyes filled with tears.
"Okay. We'll send an ambulance right away." Octavia put the phone down and ran over to Vinyl. Neon was trying to clean the cuts. Neon was crying.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT OCTAVIA!" Neon shouted.
"MY FAULT?!"
"YEAH! IF YOU WOULD'VE JUST LISTENED TO HER SHE WOULDN'T BE UNCONSCIOUS!" Neon shouted.
"IM SORRY! HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO NOT BE ANGRY WITH HER?!"
"YOU COULD'VE TRUSTED HER!"
"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?! THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED!"
"HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU MISSED SOMETHING OF HERS HUH?!"
Silence.
"Oh my god! IM A TERRIBLE FRIEND!" she shouted. An ambulance came, taking Vinyl away. Before Octavia got into the ambulance, she picked up the note Vinyl left. She read it and tears went down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry Vinyl." she said, looking at her sleeping friend.
Vinyl had an oxygen mask put on her muzzle, and the paramedics started cleaning her wounds. She was taken into a room, where the doctors started stitching the cut on her neck. Octavia and Neon had to wait outside in the waiting room.
"I'm sorry I snapped Octavia."
"Don't be. I deserved it. She.... loved me?" Octavia asked out loud, staring at the bloody note.
"Yeah."
"You knew?!"
"Uh huh. You don't know how many times we were in the studio and she'd talk about you. How beautiful you were, how sweet you were, how annoying you were, and mostly how much she loved you and how much she wanted to tell you." Neon said, chuckling a bit. He placed a hood on Octavia's shoulder.
"Don't worry. She'll be fine."
"But I'm not. This all happened because of me. I should've answered the phone when she called. I was just so angry.... I just couldn't."
"Let me tell you a story. So, you know how Vinyl and I are best friends, right?" Octavia nodded her head.
"We got into a huge fight once. I remember she came out with her song Music to My Ears and I came out with my song Pony Rock Anthem. Everyone loved her song more than mine and I got really jealous. I know stupid. Anyways, I stopped talking to her. I couldn't tell her how I felt. One guys are supposed to be tough and two I didn't want to ruin our friendship. She kept wondering why I wasn't talking to her. I eventually snapped. I yelled at her and she yelled back. We actually didn't talk to each other for two months! I felt bad and so did she. One day I called her and apologized. We've been better friends ever since."
"Wow. I never thought you two would fight." Octavia said, after he finished his story.
"All friends fight Octavia. Being able to forgive your friend, well, that's how you know you have a true friendship."
"I guess you're right."
"She's waking up if you would like to see her." he said. Octavia and Neon ran to the room. Vinyl's eyes fluttered as her chest went up and down slowly, still having the mask on. The doctor took the mask off.
"*cough* O.... Octy? Neon?" she stuttered, tiredly. Neon hugged his friend.
"Vinyl, don't you ever do that again!" he said, sternly. She felt a pain in her neck. She felt something bumpy and painful.
"Ow. What is that?"
"Stitches." Neon said. Octavia tapped Neon's shoulder.
"May we have a moment alone?"
"Sure." he walked out of the room. Octavia sat on the bed.
"I'm so sorry Vinyl."
"It's okay Octavia."
"No it's not! I was being a selfish friend!"
"But I'm the one who forgot about the concert." she said, sitting up.
"I've also forgotten to go to your shows. Im so sorry. So you love me?"
"*sigh* Yeah. Every since I laid my eyes on you." Vinyl said, smiling.
"Then I think this is long overdue." Octavia said, pushing her lips onto Vinyl's. They pulled away shortly after.
"You don't know how long I've wanted to do that." Vinyl said.
"Do you forgive me?"
"Of course."
"Friends?"
"More than friends."
"I love you Vinyl."
"I love you too Octy." They kissed again longer and put passion into the kiss. They were now not only best friends, but mare friends.
