The Mis-adventures of Midnight Moon
a Look into the Past (part 1)
The scene opens up in a hospital in Cloudsdale, a Pregnant mare with a Black mane and tail with a White coat and big Slit-like eyes eyes was in a room her cutie mark depicted a moon in the shape of an eye which was dripping tears which resembled solar Rays only more bluish, it was nearly midnight as she was going into labor.
"Come on miss Moon! push!" said one of the pegasus doctors, New Moon screamed before fainting.The sound of a crying foal was heard as the doctors held the newborn up. The newborn had tiny wings on her back, the foals mane and tail were white, her coat was jet black. Outside of the room the father, Day Light who had a Dusty brown coat with a mane and tail that had clashing colors of red and blue, was pacing back and forth. His cutie mark was of a generator with a sun inside
"I hope my wife is all right" he said intensely worried, he read headlines saying that some mares can die after giving birth. That was when the door opened and the pegasus doctor walked out, "sir Day Light, your daughter is healthy and safe." he reported. Day Light couldn't contain his excitement, he entered the room to see New Moon holding the foal she looked adorable and she was so small as well.
"Thank you, Great Horse Master, Thank you for letting my wife and daughter live!" Day Light said happily.
"shhhh, she's sleeping" said New Moon as she held her sleeping daughter who was wrapped in a blanket to her chest.
"right sorry" said Day Light as he smiled at his newborn daughter.
"I think I'll name her...Midnight Moon" said New Moon with another smile.
"That sounds perfect with me" said Day Light with a smile as well.
"Midnight Moon..." said New Moon as she rubbed her daughters head gently, careful not to wake her up.
a few days later...
Day Light was in the Weather Factory, working his shift with supplying power to machines that aren't in direct contact with Solar Rays. Most of the Machines in general don't need solar rays to function, but then there are the ones that DO need solar rays.
"He-hey, Day Light" said his friend, the pegasus worker had a redish coat with a blender cutie mark, told him.
"oh, hey Strawberry Smoothie" said Day Light.
"I heard you got a daughter" said the stallion now known as Strawberry smoothie.
"of course, daughters are much more well behaved than son's after all" said Day Light with a smile.
"I can tell, my daughter was born a few days ago, My wife Tropical Fruit was so happy." he told Day Light with a content sigh.
"what's your daughters name?" asked Day Light.
"Peach Smoothie, catchy name huh?" asked Strawberry Smoothie.
"Sure, I guess" said Day Light with a shrug.
"what did you name your daughter?" asked Strawberry Smoothie, he was one of the pegasi who helped out with lunch breaks for Weather Factory workers.
"Midnight Moon." Day Light Replied.
"ahhh, taking after her mothers last name eh?" said Strawberry Smoothie.
"well, why not? your daughter is taking after YOUR last name isn't she?" replied Day Light.
"haha, you got that right." chuckled Strawberry Smoothie.
"anyway, I'm actually impressed, your wife is mostly Nocturnal, yet you both manage to find the time to be together, how do you do it?" asked Strawberry Smoothie.
"I think it has something to do with our work schedules, before we got married, we met each other under the Dusk dawn and the Twilight." said Day Light.
"really?" asked Strawberry Smoothie.
"Yeah, ever since then, we got closer and closer to each other, whenever the twilight came out or whenever the dawn was about to come." said Day Light.
"wow, you're a lucky guy man" said Strawberry Smoothie.
"Yeah, Luckily I managed to snag a job in this factory since I'm able to grab solar rays and use them to reactivate broken down machines once the reapirstallions finish with it." said Day Light.
That twilight...
Day Light manged to come home, Luckily it was in the twilight so he didn't have to worry about sleeping at the moment. He entered the kitchen to see New Moon feeding Midnight Moon a bottle full of breast milk.
"Hey Honey" she said Happily.
"Hey dear, hows Midnight Moon?" Day Light asked as he went to see what New Moon left for him to eat, he was glad to see a hay sandwich with grass juice was there waiting for him.
"She's on her breast feeding stage, pretty soon I have to tuck her in then I'll head out to my job, I was lucky that Cloudsdale University had an opening for a Mare like me" said New Moon.
"Yeah, who knew they were hiring a nocturnal pegasi?" said Day Light
"Nopony apparently, using the Lunar Rays to NOT fall asleep isn't given to just ANY pony after all" she chuckled, "I mean, it wasn't until I found out that Lunar Rays, which nopony seems to believe in, were real. Once I found out about the Lunar Rays I've been using them to help me stay up longer than usual so I can continue experiments."
"Yeah, My cutie mark story is like yours, only more efficient in the day light and I can use the solar rays to power machinery that can't be reached by the rays themselves, but unlike you're story, I'm not nocturnal since the rays are used for an extra source of power" said Day Light.
"Well, you should be getting to bed by now, it's almost night time" said New Moon
"Yeah, good night" said Day Light as he finished up his meal and headed up to his cloudbed.
Once Midnight Moon and New Moon were left alone, Midnight Moon let out a tiny burp from her feeding, "Hush now, quiet now, it's time to lay your sleepy head. Hush Now, quiet now, it's time to go to bed" she sang to her daughter who fell asleep with her hoof in her mouth. She headed up to Midnight Moon's cloud crib and put her in it then rotated the music chime hanging over her crib.
"sleep tight, my daughter" she said giving one last kiss on Midnight Moon's head before she shut off the light.
The Mis-adventures of Midnight Moon
Midnight Moon sighed looking through her family photo album which showed her being tucked in by her mother before she left for work, "those memories will stick with me forever" she sighed. she then looked over at the clock in her room, her Cutie mark had a wrench and a test tube in front of what appeared to be a Full moon. She was 18 years old and she moved out of her parents home, she misses them a lot.
"I really wish I was normal size and not stuck like this" she said to herself with another sigh before adjusting her glasses. She looked at the mirror in her room, her room was made of clouds and had a chemistry set with a machine next to it. It wasn't until she helped repair one of the Generators using various chemicals she created that she earned her cutie mark, and it just happened to be during midnight. She must have inherited the nocturnal trait from her mother since she never felt the need to sleep during the night mostly.
She stared into her mirror with a sigh, ever since her mother and father told her that she'll be unable to grow to a full sized mare, she started looking into mirrors to imagine what it would have been like if her body grew. She looked back into her family album to see when she graduated Cloudsdale U, she was so happy about it.
"Ahh, the memories" she said to herself. it was night outside as of right now, though she mostly never goes to sleep at night, this is one of those nights where she does go to sleep instead of not sleeping. She yawned before putting the book back on her bookshelf with some books she borrowed from a library in Cloudsdale. She then went into her child sized bed, she wanted a bigger bed but she grew comfortable with her original bed. she went under the covers then clapped her hooves causing the lights in the room to shut off.
the next day...
Midnight Moon's alarm clock let out a beeping noise which much to Midnight Moon herself, was annoying. She needs to fix up the beeping later so it's not as annoying. She yawned before getting out of her bed, she reached for her glasses which she took off before going to bed. she put them on before going to her vanity to rinse and wash her hair, it took abit before she was finished, her white hair looks nice as usual while it was draped into a long pigtail.
"well, I don't have anything to do today, so I'll just go visit that place called "Ponyville"" she said. She heard a lot of stories about all the weird things that happened there, and wanted to see for herself. She was told that a dragon went on a rampage there once, she also heard that Cerberus escaped guard duty in Tartarus, "seriously, WHAT is up with that place?" she said to nopony in particular.
she packed her things, made her tail into a pig-tail just like her mane, put on her silver jewel bracelets then last but not least, put on her favorite red bow. she took one last look in the mirror making sure her eyes were right, they were slit-like while her pupils were their usual blue color. Her coat was a sort of jet black she secretly hated this color, she could have gotten brown or heck even blue, but nope she had to be born with a Jet black color.
After some last minute check ups, she flew out the door, she's not really the type of pegasus to stay in the air for long, she only uses it to get to places faster.
Ponyville...
"Come on Crusaders, we haven't tried this yet!" said Scootaloo holding up a fire extinguisher to her back.
"Uh, Scootaloo, ah dun think that this is uh gud ah'dea" said Applebloom.
"Yeah, I have to agree with Applebloom" said Sweetie Belle.
"don't worry, what's the worst that can happen?" asked Scootaloo before turning on the fire extinguisher
1 minute later...
"well...that wasn't what I was hoping for" said Scootaloo with some bruises.
"ah cain't bulieve you spahraled outta control" said Applebloom
'sometimes I think I'm the ONLY sane one of this group' thought Sweetie Belle.
"well, so much for trying out for a jetpack cutie mark." said Scootaloo.
"wow, that WAS amazing wasn't it?" came a snarky voice.
"Oh bruther" said Applebloom rolling her eyes.
"well Silver Spoon, the cutie mark cruders did it again" said Diamond Tiara as she and Silver Spoon walked towards them.
"Diamond Tiara, can you be quiet for once?" asked Sweetie Belle unfazed
"oh please, as if I'll stop making fun of you blank flanks, the only thing that matters is how I have a cutie mark and YOU don't after all, when a pony has her cutie Mark, she becomes special. Blank Flanks AREN'T special NOR do they have potential, that's just what adults say to foals to make them feel better." said Diamond Tiara with a laugh, that did it. Applebloom was steaming with anger but was held back by Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.
"YA'LL TAIKE THAT BACK!" she shouted at Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon who only laughed.
"not OUR fault you three are basket cases, that's probably how you were born" said Diamond Tiara still laughing as she and Silver Spoon walked away. Sweetie Belle began to cry as Scootaloo was trying to hold back her anger, Applebloom's face was as red as Big Macintosh.
Midnight Moon landed just outside of Ponyville, she hasn't been here before so she was curious, hopefully Pinkie pie doesn't-
"HI!" she said appearing out of nowhere infront of Midnight Moon. She recoiled hard onto the ground from the sudden surprise.
Dahm it Pinkie, you could have given her a heart attack!
"Sorry Mr. Narrator, I thought I would add a little fun to the chapter, considering that memory lane chapter you did which got negative reviews" said Pinkie to the Narrator.
"Youmustbenewtoponyville,areyounewtoponyville?Ican'twaittothrowasuperwonderfullyfantabulisticallysuperspecialawesomepartyjustforyou!" she said...without any spaces in between the words. Midnight Moon didn't know how to react, she could feel her heart beating fast in her chest.
"P-Please, NEVER do that again" said Midnight Moon.
Just listen to her Pinkie you WANT to cause one of the main characters a heart attack?
"Not really" said Pinkie nonchalantly.
"who are you talking to?" asked Midnight Moon.
"to the Narrator of this fanfic silly" said Pinkie pointing to the viewers who are reading some had sweat drops while others looked annoyed or even angry.
"um...there's nopony there..." said Midnight Moon with a sweat drop, 'Where does she keep all that energy?' she thought.
"Well, I wasted enough time with pointlessly babbling, the viewers hate time wasters so see you" said pinkie bouncing away from Midnight Moon who was at a loss for words at what just happened. She decided to shrug it off and continue her way to explore. She eventually found a bench to sit on, she reached into her bag then took out a scrap book and began to draw something.
Crusaders Tree house
"Diamond Tiara is going too far this time!" said Scootaloo.
"I want to agree, but maybe she's doing it for a reason" said Sweetie Belle trying to be the voice of reason.
"ahnd wha reason'd that beh?" asked Applebloom trying to cool off from the anger that she was feeling for Diamond Tiara right now.
"Maybe, she never had any real friends, I mean if you look at Silver Spoon, she seems more of a filly in the wrong crowd than an actual bully like Diamond Tiara." said Sweetie Belle hoping that would enlighten both of them, when it came to scenes like this, she was ALWAYS the voice of reason. Though at times the voice of reason went to Applebloom instead of her, but that's a story for another time.
"As if, have you SEEN how she acts around Diamond Tiara, she's just as much of a bully as Diamond Tiara herself, albeit alittle" said Scootaloo.
"But-" before Sweetie Belle could finish Applebloom spoke up, still angry however.
"How much loonger do we have tuh go through this torment?" she asked Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.
"Until we get our cutie marks I suppose" sighed Sweetie belle.
"Maybe somepony around town can help us" said Applebloom starting to feel more calm.
"Didn't we try that before?" asked Scootaloo.
"Can't hurt to try again" said Sweetie Belle confidently.
"Fine" said Scootaloo annoyed.
"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS QUESTION ASKERS! YAY!" all three shouted which shook the tree house.
Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon were at one of Ponyville's resturants, both were sipping a smoothie.
"I always wondered what that new smoothie tasted like" commented Silver Spoon.
"I have to agree, it's one of the best a filly can ask for" said Diamond Tiara.
"dudes, I'm like, glad you like it" said the Pony who gave them the smoothie, she had a peach colored coat with a green mane to match, her tail was the same color as her mane, and she had a cutie mark of a peach, and she had a surfer dude accent only more feminine.
"What's your name?" asked Silver Spoon.
"My name is Peach Smoothie brah, I Like just got a job here dudes" said the Pony now known as Peach Smoothie
The cutie mark crusaders sped through town in a red wagon that was being pulled by Scootaloo, trying to see which pony to ask, they already asked the mane 6 year or so ago.
"How'bout Derpy?" asked Applebloom.
"You mean Ditsie?" asked Scootaloo.
"let's not get into an argument about her name please?" asked Sweetie Belle.
"fine, anyways, maybe we should ask some fillies like us who already got their cutie mark" suggested Scootaloo.
"That there could work, we'll jus need tah fiand wun and iask, lak that wun" said Applebloom pointing to the Pegasus filly sitting on a bench with a sketchbook.
"can't hurt to try" said Scootaloo.
"maybe she can help us" said Sweetie Belle.
Midnight Moon was about finished when she saw three fillies about her size speeding towards her then stopping.
'Hmm, maybe if I put that acting I've been practicing on to good use...' she thought.
"Pardun us" said Applebloom.
"Hello" said Midnight Moon in a Filly voice which didn't suit her actual age
"We want to know how you got your cutie mark, and maybe tell us how we can get ours" said Sweetie Belle.
"Yeah, hopefully it's helpful" said Scootaloo.
"Well, all right" she said as she began her tale.
"thank you little dudes, Like come again some time" said Peach Smoothie to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon who left the resturant.
"Hey look, the Blank Flanks are chatting with a new pony, another to make fun of." said Diamond Tiara with an evil grin before she and Silver Spoon, who was having second thoughts, walked towards them.
