Chapter 1
"OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!!" The wild pink party pony screamed, rolling into Twilight's tree castle.
"Pinkie Pie," Princess Twilight sighed, holding a large, baby blue leather book on the highly intriguing auto-biography of Star Swirl the Bearded in her levitation. It was so old it was almost quite literally falling apart. Twilight had been reading it for hours and hours and was set on finishing it by the end of the day.
"YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!" Pinkie Pie said excitedly.
Twilight's head already ached from all the focus she had put into the book, so she tried not to sound too annoyed, "What is it Pinkie Pie? In case you can't tell I am TRYING to read." She sighed, wishing it were easier to remain as calm as her sister in law.
"But this is the very most EXCITING THING IN THE HISTORY OF EVER!!!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, sounding quite sure of herself.
Twilight sighed trying to remain calm, laughing a bit,"But I thought there was nothing more exciting than old patio furniture flyers."
"Oh SILLY yes there is!"
"Enlighten me."
"How about Flash Sentry waiting for you at Sugar CUBE CORNER? HUH? ISNT THAT EXCITING?!?" She yelled, jumping up onto her throne.
Twilight's eyes widened,"Why yes it is Pinkie Pie!" She jumped off her throne, dropping the large book from her levitation, "I need to get ready! A nice dress! Not too fancy of course...but it can't be too plain..." She muttered to herself.
"But he's-"
"Oh my Celestia!" She stretched out her large violet wings,"and I may need to fix my mane!"
"Twilight-"
"And get on some jewelry too!" She ranted on.
"But you don't have enough-" Pinkie Pie started.
"Oh no!" Twilight glanced at the clock in the corner, nervously trotting in place,"do I have enough time?"
"That's what I was trying to say silly!" Pinkie Pie laughed, smiling a little.
"I just wish there was a letter, maybe a notice? A message?" Twilight stuttered frantically, her mane shaking with each movement. Her hoof went to her mouth and she chewed it nervously, too panicked to notice.
"Oh Twilight! You worry too much! I'm sure Flash Sentry won't mind that your unprepared."
"UNPREPARED?!? I'm NEVER unprepared!" Twilight's pupils dilated, and her hooves moved away from her mouth.
"Of course not silly! But today you have to be!"
Twilight let out a frightened gasp and began pacing around her throne, mind racing.
"Simmer down, Sally" Applejack sighed, trotting into the throne room with Rarity.
"Yes dear, there isn't anything to be so worried about." Rarity said smiling.
"But there is!" The alicorn princess proclaimed,"What if I come unprepared and Flash Sentry notices? What if he decides not to like me anymore? What if he breaks up with me because he thinks all the stress of being a princess is too much for me to maintain a good relationship?!" In panic, she threw the large book with he magic towards the open window, but a butter yellow hoof caught it.
"There there Twilight it's alright." the calm, kind voice of Fluttershy said, as she flew in her gentle flaps bringing her through the window, "we don't need any panicking." She gently set the book down on a nearby desk.
"Fluttershy is right, Twilight." Applejack smiled. "There's nothing to worry about!"
"Oh but there is!" Rarity exclaimed, her deep blue eyes widening.
Applejack facehoofed, and Fluttershy sighed looking at the ground kicking at the floor. Sweat inched down Twilights face.
"It is quite natural for a filly to worry about her dear coltfriend," Rarity sighed glancing at the others,"which is why I made Twilight a regal dress for her date!"
Using her unicorn magic, she pulled in a dress on a rack into the throne room, beaming with pride. The dress was made with fine light blue silk, and had a frilly dark violet collar. The sleeves for her forelegs stretched down long, the ends of the sleeves the same color of the collar. There skirt at the back was long and also blue, sparkling beautifully. The cart also had some dark blue boots.
"Ohhhhh shiny!" Pinkie Pie grinned, stroking the skirt of the gown,"and soft too!"
"Rarity," Fluttershy whispered,"isn't that the silk you were going to use to make...that gown you've been planning on for months."
"Oh yes...but it doesn't matter, really!" Rarity smiled,"after all it would look so much better on Twilight."
"Thank you so much Rarity!" Twilight smiled, pulling on her dress with her magic,"I don't know what I'd do without such a generous friend."
Rarity smiled, still feeling disappointed that she couldn't use the extremely rare and expensive silk for herself. But the smiling face of Twilight helped a bit, "the collar really compliments your eyes."
"Oh I don't really see the big deal!" Rainbow Dash said from the window,"Just a fancy shmancy dress."
"Have you been a'spyun on us?" Applejack asked tilting her head to one side.
She shrugged,"It's not really spying since I just got here."
Twilight was a bit confused, but shrugged it off, knowing she had much more important things to think about, "I'd hate to leave you all now but I should be there by now. Thank you all."
Rainbow Dash grinned,"Ya ya, my awesomness was needed here wasn't it?"
Applejack rolled her eyes,"Its really no problem, we are here to support you."
Twilight smiled, feeling warm inside, unsure if it was from thinking about Flash, or knowing she had such great friends. "Thanks!"
"Umm...no problem." Fluttershy smiled.
Twilight flew slowly to the door,"Thank you!"
Rarity smiled,"There is no need to darling."
Twilight opened the door and turned back,"Thanks again!"
"Twilight!" All of the lavender ponies friends but Pinkie Pie yelled.
Twilight smiled sheepishly,"Alright I'll go now! Bye!" And with that she teleported away. After a few seconds Pinkie gasped.
"She forgot to say thank you! What if her manners aren't ready for her date?"
The others sighed laughing and shook there heads at their silly party friend.

Twilight appeared by a tree near Sugarcube Corner, wanting to compose herself before entering.
"Easy there calm down Twilight..." She whispered to herself glancing at the door. "I am so ready for this."
