"No no no no ". Smoke puffed out of his nostrils rapidly like a charging train as Spike ran through the streets in a major panic.
His clawed feet pounded along the filthy cobble stones at a mad pace, His eyes darting about in fear.
"No no no , I'm a monster, I can't believe it, No no no , I'm, , ,I'm . . . " His tears streaming.
"No no I can't let myself hurt anypony specially her ! NO Not her !" The thoughts burning through his brain like slow moving lava.
Spike bounded up the steps and past the guards at the doors , The cold crystal floors adding to his discomfort and pain.
His inner voice screaming louder "No no , How can I fix this? Even Twilight can't help me. . ."
He tried to think but the clouds of guilt filled his head, " I'M A MONSTER! " Spike yelled out as he balled his claws to the side of his head and with the fire from inside he roared to the ceilings "NOooooooooooooooo" The roar faded to a muffled sobbing. The defeated drake put his fists over his closed eyes collapsing to the floor, He curled into a green and purple shivering ball , Burning tears of dread flowing across the floors a witness to his crime.
"No no, It can't be ! The Carrousel Boutiques on fire !"
Rainbow dash flew down to the base of a pillar of smoke, A fire brigade dousing a small blaze at Raritys boutique,
Dash landed with a thud and stormed in, Clouds of smoke and steam lingered in the air along with bits of fine ash.
Shoving her way around the fire crew she saw the remains of Raritys favorite red chase lounge reduced to a pile of smoldering cinders,
The drapes turned to dusty wisps piled along the bottom of the scorched and cracked windows.
Rainbows eyes saw Raritys red framed glasses broken on the floor beyond them were smudges of blood and deep scratches.
" No no , This is not good " She gaged and staggered out of the boutique " No , no , Spike ? How could you? "
She couldn't get the frightening image out of her head Spike how could you? I can't believe he could do this. What would cause him to go nuts like this? She knew of his crush, Did scaley finally get his heart broke and turn on Rarity?
"No this is not good, Got to find Twilight, NOW!"

Spastic tremors shot through her hooves , A pink Jello mold on an out of balanced washing machine couldn't compete.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders watched in disbelief as the floats, sodas, cakes and icy treats ricochet off every surface of the room, tables, walls, floors, windows, Mr. and Mrs. Cake.
Pinkies eyes refocused on the three fillies " Oh No no no no no ".
She saw a chocolate caramel covered Apple Bloom, A Sprinkled Vanilla oat swirl ice creamed Sweetie Bell and
a Scootaloo scooter split with a cherry on top.
The three fillies looked down at their flanks and let out a collective sigh of disappointment " No cutie mark ".
Scootaloo looked at the mess " I got an idea. . ." But her plan was thankfully interrupted .
A dragons roar erupted from Carrousel Boutique, The four sets of eyes looked out the windows in time to see a emerald green fire ball light up the fashion house show rooms , It's insides projected on the window drapes like a giant flash bulb flicker show in overdrive.
Pinkie sucked the ice cream from her mane and asked " Girls, Isn't Spike supposed to be helping Rarity today? "
They all watched a smoking Spike the scared and less than noble dragon exit the boutique running ,
He was covered with flaming bits of fabric trailing streamers of floating embers.
" Absolutely not ! "
" No Fluttershy No ! I can't have them varmints near the farm. You know what happens to my crops with those critters around here ".
AJ turned to eyeball little Miss. tree hugger from under her sweat stained hat.
" But , But oh, We had a deal " Fluttershy pleaded to the orange mare.
" Not with me you didn't " AJ huffed " Big Mac ? What deal did you make here? " She asked with that single brow raised.
" Ah just a little one " Mac replied " She's family like ain't she? "
AJ bellowed " Ya ain't married yet and I got a farm to run, Twilight you explain it to them, I ain't getting nowhere ".
Twilight spoke " The sanctuary is just too close to the. . . "
A scream from the sky catches everypony off guard " Twilight , Spikes flamed Raritys place and I think she's toast ! "
Rainbow grabbed Twilight by the withers and screamed " Did you here me? SCALEYS OFFED HIS CRUSH ! "

I can't believe Spike would hurt her ", Twilight said as they ran back to Ponyville.
" I saw the mess , I smelled the smoke, I tell you she dumped him and scaley lost it , Big time ! " As Rainbow ruffled her wings.
AJ replied between breaths " Look sweet ol Spike ain't got a mean bone in his body. Hay ,He would die before he would hurt any of us, specially her! "
The boutique came into view. The wisps of smoke still seeping out of the open doors and windows.
They looked at the floor and what was left of the lounge. The scene didn't look too good for the drake or for Rarity either.
No other explanation . They had to find Spike now. Who knows what a crazed dragon could do.
Pinkie bounced up to the boutique with the crusaders in tow. She peeked at the scene and shook her head.
" On no, Poor Spike , He's got a lot of cleaning up to do ".
Twilight quickly quizzed the pink one " Pinkie, Did you see what happened? Where did Spike go? "
" I heard Spike and Rarity making loud noises and then this big flash happened and then Spike shot out the front door and ran that way ".
The crusaders all pointed at the Crystal Castle, But before another word was said Twilight, AJ
and RD proceeded to stampede to the Crystal Castle of doom in a cloud of dust.
Pinkies mouth just hung open along with Scootaloo and Apple Bloom, " Well plot !" Sweetie Bell exploded" What about my sister? ! "
She reared on her flank with her hooves on her hips in disgusted rage and screamed "WHAT ABOUT RARITY !?".
Pinkie gathered up the bunch of crusaders and followed the trail to where the killer dragon was hiding .
" I've got to see Spike ".
Twilight came to the door to Spikes room. Her horns magic aura began to glow for a transportation spell.
" Halt ! Princess Twilight ", A royal guard called out.
" What?" She glared at the guard in disbelief " I'm going to help Spike ".
The royal guard took hold of the Princess " Protocol states we can not let yourself go into harms way with out proper orders ".
Twilights mane frizzed and she blew a snort in frustration " Ok , Fine, Whatever , We'll do this the old fashioned way ".
She looked into his eyes " Is that OK with you? "
" Yes. Princess, But you need to be under escort ". A bead of sweat rolling out from under his helmet.
The guards were poised with knees shaking at the door their spears ready to 'protect' the Princess.
" Spike come out " Twilight yelled.
" No Twilight , I'm a monster " Spike cried as steam puffed out from under the door.
"Come on Spike, It can't be that bad? " She reasoned with a softer tone " Please. Open the door ".
Spikes voice cracked and he wailed "I'm a ' Sniff ' monster, I ' hack cough ' Rarity, I should '
cough ' DIE!"
The dragons sobbing confession sealed his fate. The guards were ready and as sad as they were Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack knew what had to be done.
With a buck of the door and a rush of hooves they charged into Spikes room. Plots and flanks side by side no room for error.
An aura of magic grabbed Spike hoisting him high into the air.
Spike went limp waiting for his execution by what ever means. For him seconds ticked by like hours.
" HE'S MINE ! NOPONY TOUCHES HIM ! "
The whole lot of eyes followed Spikes body as it flew through the air , They all turned to see the flames in her eyes ,
The smoking mane and tail, A collective gasp filled everyponies ears, Rarity held Spike over her head.
" He's MINE, No pony will lay a hoof on my precious scales! " Wisps of green smoke puffed out of her mouth as she spoke.
Spike was still floating limp " I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I hurt you ". his tears flowing freely.
" Spikey calm down " Rarity cooed gently softly " Precious scales you could never hurt me and no pony is going to hurt you ".
She moved him snout to muzzle and they gazed into each others eyes .
Spike let out a shy little squeak " I didn't hurt you? "
Rainbow stomped into view " What about the wrecked boutique and the blood? I thought Spike flamed you".
Rarity snorted out a puff of left over smoke " Spikey just had a reaction to my perfume, And as for the rest, It's none of your business,
A lady and gentledrake do not talk of those matters in public".
Twilight looked at the two and her eyes bugged out and her pupils dotted, Strands of mane frizzed out in all directions.
" No n0 N0 ? Rarity? You! " She huffed and squinted her eyes " SPIKE? What did you do? Spike? "
Rarity set Spike down " Twilight , I've known of Spikes affection for some time and I was a terrible friend to all of you ,
I should of told you all sooner , But Spike is my special somepony and we were . . ."
Sweetie Belle screamed " So that's why you sent me to Sugar Cube Corner today ! Some sister you are ".
Pinkie and the rest of the crusaders came trotting in. Spike felt his world was shrinking. The whole group looked at the two,
A marsh mellow mare and her purple smoke generator and flame thrower. After the shock wore off the good news? Or was it bad news?
But after the shock wore off Twilight asked the simple question "OK you two who started this ?"
Rainbow snickered "Yea, Who raped who here?"
Rarity replied "Rainbow that wasn't called for, Well Twilight, You know how I've had a history of looking for that prince or knight in shining armor, And with all the problems of finding stallions with any quality . After Blue Blood and Trenderhoof ?
I just quit looking ". She sighed " I didn't know he had already found me " .
She looked down her muzzle and nuzzled the drake. Spike reached a claw to her and shyly pulled himself into her mane.
Twilight spoke softly "But what about the blood and the mess?"
Rarity wrapped a hoof around Spike and spoke to them both " I gave my precious scales a very special gift a lady can give
only once in her life time".
She took a breath " We were exploring virgin territories. . ."
Spike looked down at his claws and fidgeted " I just messed things up ".
Rarity glowed "On the contrary , You were fashionably magnificent my Spikey Wikey ".
Rainbow rolled on the floor " Ha ha You and scaley? That's just too much. .Ha ha ha . . ."
Apple Jack smiled " Well it's about time for you two".
Pinkie sighed " Ain't it soo sweet our little Spikey growing up so fast, Last time he grew he wrecked half of Ponyville".
The cutie mark crusaders just went "gag me / Dawwww ", As Apple Bloom stated a matter of fact " About time yer balls dropped ".
"SPIKE ! RARITY ! YOU TWO ? " Twilights dam burst, Her little world was shaken to its core, The Dewy decimal system was a lie.
She screamed over and over "You two? GROSS " After the multiple rants Twilights horn glowed "SPikE C0ME gr0sS , SpiKe! "
Rarity saw her precious scales dragged away. Rarity charged her horn and a bright flash of light filled Spikes vision.
"Spike? Spike? Hay Spike wake up " Twilights voice echoed through Spikes ears. Spike opened his eyes to see
Twilights worried stare. Spike turned his head and looked at the carnage.
The Crystal Castle was a smoldering a mess and the Doctors and nurses rushed around tending to the unfortunate victims .
" What? " Spike gasped " What the . . ? How bad is it ? . . .Did Rarity do this? "
"No not exactly " Twilight talked with little wisps of blue smoke " She had a little help ".
"How bad is it ? " Spike sweated bullets and asked " Rarity ?"
Twilight answered " It could of been worse ".
She looked at her number one assistant " Rarity's fine , Don't feel bad about fainting ".
" I want to see her " Spike got up and followed his boss-sister-mother-room mate to where the marsh mellow mare laid.
Spike took her hoof in his claw and bent over and kissed her .
"You did this to me " She said in a whisper. She ran a hoof through his spines and stroked the scales she so adored .
The drake smiled and she winked at those emerald eyes , Rarity continued " Your Twilight did the rest ".
The charring and smoke stains covered every wall and surface of the castle, The rampaging mares fight put in
new doors and jagged windows leading to the outside and some new open rooms that were once private inside.
They came to a closet with the door blasted off,
AJ sat up with her single brow raised looking at the two though a freshly burned hole in her hat.
" Twi ? You an Rares about done with your hissy fit? " Flakes of ash settled on her nose as she looked at Spike & Twilight.
" We've come to an understanding " Twilight puffed a few strands of mane out of her eyes " We are splitting the cost of repairs".
Apple Jack stared at Twilight and said "And?"
Twilight shrugged her withers " And I don't know , It's so confusing , She and Him? A crush is one thing but. . but, "
A bright light filled the balcony patio .
"PRINCESS TWILIGHT SPARKLE !" A Canterlot voice rang out, A lighter tone followed " You of all ponies , Come here".
Spike started to walk over worried about the new twist of fate for his boss-sister-mother-odd ball-room mate .
Celestia looked at him with a wink "Spike, It's ok , We are just going to talk , No banishment".
Twilight stumbled over the debris to the Princess of the sun who eyed the scares on the once new castle of friendship.
Spike and AJ exited the room as the two leaders hashed it out. They could hear Twilights "buts" and Celestias "Now Twilights" .
Spike & AJ returned to where Rarity was resting , The smell of tea and scones contrast the staffs efforts of finding personal effects
as they picked through the rubble.
"Now that I see you're ok " Spike asked " Where's the rest of the gals?"
Rarity took hold of Spike and snuggled him "I was so busy with Twilight dear, Apple Jack did you see where they went?"
" Well after Twilight grabbed Spike Rainbow tried steppin in and she teleported her to who knows where. The Crusader bunch ran off with Pinkie when Twilight blasted her forth wall and the guards turned tail and I think I heard them say something about the Eastern front.
I was lucky enough to find that closet I came out of ".
As the happy couple and the others debated the finer points of this odd relationship, The Cutie Mark Crusaders continued their quest.
"Are you sure this it what Twilight wanted?" Apple Bloom asked Scootaloo.
"If my sister Rarity was helping her why not?" Sweetie Belle then yelled "FIRE IN THE HOLE !"
