Fate's Stand-in

by Reykan
He knew where he was, and it was the last place he wanted to be. Something was wrong though, something was missing from this picture perfect world. He had no destiny of his own in this world, so Fate decided he'd be a back-up.

Raymond knew the of the country. He recognized the local species, even if there were a few oddities. Hell, that was to be expected when one compares reality versus fiction. And he absolutely, positively, resolutely, refuses to go there. It's not happening. Ever. Who knows what could happen? Experimentation, imprisonment, "deportation" to a country/region he wasn't from in the first place? No, it was better this way. There were other ways to get information, other halls of knowledge, other creatures he could bargain with. He still had his patience. Or was that apathy?
