Chapters Its was a good day for Rainbow Dash. Well it wasn't good. It was awesome. She had just saved the wonderbolts from plummeting to their doom (and also saving her friend Rarity). "Rainbow Dash. You sure are something. Thanks for saving us. We really appreciate it." Said the captain of the wonderbolts, Spitfire. "Hey nice job out there. Never seen a real sonic rainboom before. I thought it was just an old mares tale." Said the other wonderbolt, Fleetfoot. "Yeah well, all the other guys have pretty much said what i wanted to say. So i am just gonna say it one more time. Thanks." Said the last wonderbolt, Soarin
'woah, he sure is cute, with those emerald eyes..... No Rainbow keep it together. I can't fall in love.' Rainbow Dash thought to herself. "Well uhh we better get going. See ya around Rainbow dash." Said Spitfire in the distance. " Bye you guys!" yelled RD from the same distance as Spitfire.
By that time the 5 had already left, leaving Rainbow to fly home herself. "Ugh, I can't stop thinking about Soarin. Hes just so, so.....AWWW I need to stop thinking all sappy like!" Rainbow dash yelled to herself.
When she got home she called Rarity over the phone to say you're welcome for saving her. (don't ask me where she got a phone.) So with that she picked up the phone and dialed Rarity's number.
"hello." asked Rarity from the phone
"Hey, this is Rainbow Dash
"Oh he- WAIT THIS IS RAINBOW DASH!!!!!!!!!!!" Rarity screamed
Rainbow was startled by her inthusiasm
"Yeah... Its just the same old RD." said rainbow Dash
"I know but....... you did a sonic rainboom!!" Rarity shouted again.
"Geeze, well then.... for Celestias sake youd you please calm down." Asked RD
"Ok fine, but if you ever do something that saves my life again don't expect me to be all calm. Expect me to be all cray cray." Said Rarity.
"Ok, well uhh Rare i go to go. I will see you tomorrow. Bye."
"Bye"
And with that Rainbow Dash hung up the phone. While she was talking to Rarity, she still COULD NOT stop thinking about Soarin.
"Ugh, Rainbow... you gotta stop thinking about that guy. Its not like hes into you. Ugh, now look at me, talking all sappy AGAIN. Okay keep it cool, maybe if i just OHH I KNOW if i go onto YouTube, maybe it will clear my mind of this mushy schtuff." Said Rainbow.
As Rainbow walked out of her room to get her iPad. She got caught up in her TV so she just walked over there and grabbed the remote like she was being hitmotised. "Soo, lets see whats on tonight..... OH WHAT! WHAT AM I DOING HERE" Rainbow yelled. She got up, went to her room and layed on her bed. "Ok, lets see what I can watch on YouTube. Hmmm ohh lets go on this channel.... whats it called OH yeah its called HoneyHearts27." As RD got on her iPad and on YouTube, she suddenly felt tired(After being on electronics. Wow I don't know how she does it.) So she put her iPad on her night stand and went to sleep. Hoping she wouldn't think or soarin.
Ok she didn't go to sleep. She just stayed up trying to think about something else. She tried to listen to her favorite song. That didn't work because it was a love song. She tried to read a book. Ehh shes already read all the Daring Do books. She went on her iPad to text Pinkie Pie but, she was talking about Cheese Sandwich. She went in her gym even though it was 9:35 outside.Nothing was working. She went to go call AJ.
She picked up the phone and dialed he number.
"Hello?" Asked the farm mare
"Hey this is Rainbow." Replied the cyan pegasus
"Oh howdy RD, didn't think you'd be up this late."
"Yeah well, I called to just get my mind off of something so you can just talk about anything you want."
"Oh uhh ok then, well I just got ah new apple cart" Said AJ
"Oh cool, so just wondering... When is the next cider season.
"Uhhh you sure do love cider don't ya?"
"Well duh, your family makes the BEST cider!" Exlamed Dash
"Oh and its in two months." Said Applejack
"What... Thats too long to wait." Dash said as her excitement dropped.
"Yeah, sorry sugarcube." Replied AJ.
"Well uh so RD whats going on in your life?" Asked AJ.
"Well, as you know I did a sonic rainboom and saved the wonderbolts plus Rarity." Said the rainbow maned pony. "I also... well, don't tell a living soul about this. I have a crush.... hehe" Said RD. 'Oh God... Shes gonna think I have changed into a girl..... Like Rarity.'
"Wow, I never though...... Who is it? AJ asked.
"Well, uhh umm its Soarin... hehe." Rainbow let out a nervous chuckle.
"Well, then i got to go. Bye.
"bye?"
As AJ hung up the phone. RD had a tragic though.
"Does AJ think less of me now... Does she think im a girly-girl... I shouldn't have said that. Am i turning into a Rarity.... I already have turned into a Twilight by reading a Daring Do book. Oh Celestia im doomed." Rainbow Dash said to herself.
"No. I will NEVER be a girl. But if my friends think less of me. Who cares.
By that time it was 11:54. Rainbow was really tired. She tried to sleep. She didn't sleep. She passed out.

It was 8:36, Rainbow Dash usually isn't up at this time, but she was going to meet her friends a 9:00. Before she left, she brushed out her bed mane and splashed water on her face to wake her up.
On her way to the park, she stopped, she saw Soarin. 'Sweet Celestia, that's Soarin.... IN PONYVILLE!' Dash shouted to herself. She was thinking about going up and talk to him, but Twilight was gonna ask why she was late, so she decided not to. 'Someday Dash.... Someday'.
TEN MINUTES LATER
"Ugh, were is Rainbow dash. She should be here by now." Twilight said with a pang of anger with her voice.
"IM HERE, IM HERE!!" Rainbow yelled.
"Dude, what took you so long?" Pinkie pie asked.
"Well, uhh i woke up late. Hehe." Dash let out a nervous laugh. "But, im here now so what are we gonna do?" Dash asked.
"Well, umm we don't know actually. We never though we would make it this far. Because of how early it is." Said Rarity.
"Oh, uh right." Dash let out a fake smile. "How about-" Before Dash could finish Pinkie jumped right in "I KNOW, HOW ABOUT CUPCAKES. I HAVE PLENTY!!" Pinkie pie said with enthusiasm.
FLASH FORWARD 10 MINUTES
After they ate all the cupcakes, RD noticed AJ sitting beside a tree. Not doing anything.
"Hey, what's wrong with her?" As RD gestured towards AJ.
"Well, I actually don't know. She won't talk to us, so yeah. Sorry." Said Twilight in a deadpan voice.
Hearing that, RD went over to see if she would talk to her. 'I wonder why AJ is just sitting there. Its not like her to not talk.'
Rainbow Dash had walked over there. AJ lifted her head a little bit to see who it was. When she lifted her head she saw AJ. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying and her mane was really unkempt.
"AJ, what's wrong?" Rainbow asked. "Why were crying?"
"Like you care, you're just to caught up in your new 'boyfriend". Applejack said between sniffs.
"AJ, Soarin is not my boyfriend. I just met him. But it will be a long time before i get one. I have better things to do than start a family. Rainbow Dash said with her anger with he anger rising up.
"I should have figured." Applejack mumbled sarcastically.
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
"You won't even care whats going on with me. If i tell you, you will think less of me."
"Bruh, my element is loyalty. I will always stay by everyone's side." Dash said trying to sound courageous. 'Why won't AJ tell me whats wrong? She's like a sister to me. We tell each other everything. This is weird.' Dash thought to herself.
"Ok, well please keep this a secret." Applejack said
"I will."

"AJ, just please tell me. I'll always be there." RD pleaded
"I..... Have .... Ca-....Cancer."
Dash looked her friend in disbelief. How could AJ out of all ponies have a life threatining dease. She was flabbergasted.
"I knew you would react like this. I knew you would think less of me. I only have so long to live! Don't you get that!" Applejack was shouting at this point. Rainbow would still support her. But Applejack just assumed.
"Woah, hold it. Just because I was shocked, doesn't mean I don't care." RD said, trying to sound sympathetic. "AJ, there are places you can go for this. You don't have to die so soon in your age."
"The doctor already said there is no hope. I found out too late." Applejack was starting to cry really hard. No one has ever ever seen Applejack like this. Its not like her to cry.
"Applejack, have you told the rest of our friends?" RD asked Applejack.
"No. You're the first one to notice. The 5 of them thought i was sleeping.
"Do you want to tell them?" Rainbow asked.
"Well, not really, but they are here and they do deserve to know. They are my friends."
When they were walking, Dash noticed Applejack starting to talk to herself.
Applejack was heartbroken. She didn't have a lot of time left. She couldn't work the farm, she couldn't be there for Applebloom. She was like her mom. She couldn't be there for her first graduation, first crush, first date, her wedding. Applebloom needed her. And Applejack can't protect her anymore.
When AJ and Dash got there, Pinkie immanently jumped up and asked Applejack "Applejack, why the looooong face?"
Applejack just ignored that comment.
"Girls, I need to tell y'all something. No ya gotta promise not to tell anypony."
they all nodded.
"I don't have a long time left with you guys. I have cancer."
All of them(except Dash) stared in utter disbelief.
"Wha- wait what?" Twilight was the most shocked out of the mane 6.
"I know what y'all gonna say, but you will have to cherish all the time i have with you. cause I only have like 4 months to live."
Pinkie Pie burst into tears, Rainbow, although she already knew, was crying hard, Rarity, well Rarity fainted. Fluttershy was obviously bawling her eyeballs out, and Twilight was already researching on cancer and cancer treatment.
"You do know that there is a cure for that, right?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, but the doctor said its too late. I can't be helped." Applejack said between tears.
After they had a talk, it was 6:00 PM and they all had to go home.
As Dash flew off her home in Cloudsdale she coulden't help but think about AJ. She didn't know if she was gonna be ok or not.
Its been 3 weeks scence Applejack had said anything about her having cancer. All her friends were devastated. Applejack was an Element of Harmony, she couldn't die. What would happen to the element of honesty. The elements wouldn't work, so equestria was screwed. Applejack hadn't told the apple family. Oh God how would Granny Smith react? How about Big Mac. Well, I hope she tells them soon.
FLASH FORWARD 2 1/2 MONTHS
It was a Saturday, and the mane 6 usually meet up at the park every 2 months or so. The get together for a picnic so they can chill ax from saving Equestria. It was warm out but, not to hot. Perfect for a picinic.
"Hey, where's AJ?" Twilight asked with a pang of worry in her voice.
"I don't know. I haven't seen her scence well, scence like 2 months ago." Said Fluttershy. "I hope she's ok."
"Im sure AJ can fight that deasese. After all, she is Applejack. One of the strongest mares I know." Rainbow Dash said while thinking about something.
FLASHBACK 2 1/2 MONTHS
"Girls I have cancer. And I only have like 3 months to live."
FLASHBACK END
"uh oh...." Said RD, very nervously.
"Waddya mean uh oh-OH SHITAKI MUSHROOMS!!!" Yelled Twilight. "Are thinking what im thinking..."
"Something dreadful must have happened to her." De-spared Rarity while putting her hoof up to her head.
"Should we check the hospital?" Asked Fluttershy.
With that, they saw Applebloom running up to them. "GIRLS!!!APPLEJACK IS IN THE HOSPITAL!! Y'ALL NEED TO COME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!" Shouted Applebloom while crying.
10 MINUTES LATER
The mane 5 had got to the hospital and it was really loud. A lot of nurses were running in and out of rooms. Fluttershy was crying really hard and so was Rarity. Pinkie wasn't crying, she was bawling her eyes out. Rainbow Dash tryed to hide her crying but it didn't work. Twilight was writing a letter to Celestia about Applejack.
"Are you all here for miss Applejack?" Nurse Redheart asked.
Yes, we are." Said Twilight. "May we go see her now?"
"Yes, she's in room 105."
When they got into Applejack's room, they saw the Granny Smith, Big Macintosh, Apple Bloom, and Applejack.
Applejack was lying in the bed with her eyes bloodshot but she still had her hair. You could tell she was crying too.
"Applejack, please don't leave me. I need ya here!!" Apple Bloom was crying harder than Fluttershy right now. Big Mac couldn't even talk through tears, and Granny Smith was praying.
"Applejack!!Please tell me that you're not going!" RD yelled.
"Rainbow Swagger Dash, you are the best friend a pony could have along with the rest of y'all. I know i said RDs full name but I don't really know the rest of your names. But anyway, I couldn't have asked for better friends. Y'all have been so great to me, even when im at my stubbornness. And I wanna say good bye to Dash personally so, can y'all please give me and Dash some privacy?"
"Sure."
"Rainbow Swagger Dash, you are the best friend anypony could have. We had our fights and disagreements but we pushed through it together. You are the first one who noticed I was crying. You know me better than anypony. I am forever grateful to have you as a friend. Goodbye Rainbow Dash.. I love you..." Then her eyelids shut and it was all over.
"I love you too Applejack. Goodbye."
