//-------------------------------------------------------// A Jailed Creation -by Sparklenote- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - The Visitor //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - The Visitor The darkness was my only friend, was the thing that I learned here. It hid me from the prying eyes of the guards and the pathetic looks of the nurse. I wore this ridiculous prisoner outfit that was not meant for me. Oh no, it was meant for him. The creator. The one whom killed all of those innocent ponies and pointed all the evidence at me. I would've killed him myself but no, he died of old age. A thousand years I had been kept prisoner, with no visitors. I scoffed at this thought. Who would want to visit me? The insane murderer. For about the billionth time in those one thousand years I propped myself up against the iron bars with my front hooves and screamed at the top of my voice. The scream echoed, bouncing off the walls, telling me how big it was on the other side of those bars. I had stopped crying many many years ago, but that did not mean that I still felt the sadness and betrayal. I let out another whinny, the sounds bouncing off the walls once again. They fluttered back to me, sending my brain a rough image of the room. I had been able to do this for as long as I remember, little did I know that this was not normal. My stunning green eyes had a pierced black line through the middle with a curved slit, giving me a demon look to add to my monster-looking body. My ears were pointed and curved. My mane and tail were jet black like my pelt, with two streaks of pink slicing through it. The pink had faded to a dirty pink grey. I gave a short laugh at the image of it being eye-catching pink. The image that will never happen again. Or so I thought. I let out a long, chirping sound. The sounds bouncing told my brain that a figure was approaching. The guards rolled their eyes at me as I slunk back to the corners of my cage. It was probably the nurse. The one with the high voice, white coat and pink, faded hair. I would never count her as a visitor, since she wasn't. I growled as I curled into a circle away from the bars, not interested in the figure. That was until the guard's armor clanked, meaning that they had straightened up and stood to attention. The hoof steps came closer and closer until they stopped at the bars. My curiosity spiked when the figure did not speak, but I did not turn. Many minutes passed and nothing was said. My inquisitive side took over and I opened my eyes, looking over at my shoulder to see who it was. My eyes widened at the pony. Her coat was midnight blue with a beautiful royal blue mane and tail. They glistened like the night sky and moved like a breeze was playing, but there was no breeze. She wore a crown stationed just behind her horn with the crescent moon on it. A necklace hung around her neck with the same symbol. She wore a long black cloak that shielded her cutie mark. Blue, crystal flats surrounded her hooves and glistened as well. I sensed an aura of authority with this pony. I then noticed a small bulge underneath her cloak. I frowned at it, puzzled, but a cough from the pony made me bring my eyes to her own. Her eyes were an astounding light blue. Their colour reminded me of something long forgotten in the back of my mind, but I had no time to think about it as the pony's mouth was opening. "A thousand years thee has spent in this small cell." She said. I looked at her, she seemed familiar, but I couldn't place my hoof on it. "Thee say that thee have been framed. Is this true?" Her blue eyes looked at me with a hard edge. I get up slowly and walk out of the shadows at a slow pace. I finally reach the bars and had to crane my neck up to look at her. "One thousand years," I spoke in a low whisper, "and only now you acknowledge my screams?" I glared at her. She glared right back at me. "One thousand years I have spent my time on the moon. If that were not the case, I would've come earlier." Something flickered in my memory. Something about a Princess being sent to the moon only a month before I was framed. Was this that pony? I jerked my head forwards as far as I could without smashing my face against the iron bars. "Why do you come here? I'm the creation that killed all of those ponies, everyone knows that." I spat. She slowly bent her head down to come at my eye level. "I thought thee said thee was framed." Something flickered in her eyes and my own slit ones widened. My ears flickered and I raised a hoof in disbelief, my head jerking back. I quickly recovered, my eyes narrowing into slits once again. "Why would you believe me then?" Instead of answering the pony turned to the guards. "Leave us." They nodded, saluted and walked down the dark hallway. A minute passed before the pony began talking again, this time in a lower voice. She leaned in towards me. "I believe you were framed because I saw what happened." Confusion flickered over my face and she sighed. The pony sat down, and gestured for me to do so. After hesitating, I did what she said. "One night I was in my bedroom, reading over a few documents. It was late but the documents had to be done that night and that night only." She begun. "I was so concentrated on the documents that I did not sense the danger lingering just outside my balcony." A question formed in my brain but I kept quiet. "The danger was a purple mist, named Nightmare." A sad look crossed over her features. "It attacked me, and overpowered me. Nightmare is a different enemy than others. The mist clouds your mind, drawing out your anger and making you rebel against all rules. It did the same it me. It even drew out my worst fear." She looked down at her hooves. "What happened next?" The words slipped past my lips before I could stop them. Those blue eyes looked at mine, a hint of amusement in them. "Thee are inquisitive, I see." I flicked my tail in annoyance but kept my anger buried. "I attacked my sister. The Nightmare transformed me into Nightmare Moon. The Nightmare made me see as my sister as deliberately excluding me from all praise from ponies all around. My sister could not do anything else." She sighed. "So by using the Elements of Harmony, she sent me to the moon for a thousand years." She stood up and looked at me. I hurried to stand as well. "That doesn't explain how you believe I was framed." I said in a low voice. "When I was on the moon I glared down at Equestria with evil eyes, watching how everypony went to sleep and ignored my beautiful moon. Except for one pony. He sneaked around ponyville for a while. I watched as he slaughtered those ponies, crawling into their rooms and killing them without mercy. Screams pierced my silent night and I watched as he planted all the evidence on you. My old self cried in horror at this, but the Nightmare was still too strong. It wasn't until that my thousand years had ended and Twilight Sparkle and her friends saved me." Her eyes narrowed. "After being reunited with my sister I searched everywhere for you. I'm sorry it took so long." Another set of hooves approached us and the pony straightened up. The smiling nurse appeared. she bowed to the pony. "Oh! Hello there Princess, I didn't realize that you were coming today.." The nurse trailed off. Hovering next to her was a bottle of pills and a glass of water. The pony eyed the pills and water but made no comment. She just turned around and began walking away. "I will see you again soon, Dusk Song." Soon she was only a silhouette. "Wait!" I yelled, my fore leg sticking out from between the bars and reaching for her like it could grow longer and touch her. She stopped and looked at me over her shoulder. "Who are you?" I didn't see the smile on her face. "Call me Luna, Dusk Song." Then she disappeared. The guards came back. I retreated to the corners of my cage as the nurse made me swallow the pills. She left soon after, leaving me to my own thoughts.
