A pet for Cadence

"Cadence! Fluttershy is here. She would like to speak with you," Shining Armor announced.

"She may come in," Cadance replied warmly. The yellow pegasus made her way into Cadence's crystal castle. Fluttershy stared at the floor, more self-conscious than ever around the princess of the Crystal Empire.

"Hi, Cadence. We're having the Pet Adoption Fair in Ponyville again this year..."

"How wonderful! Is there something I can do to help?" asked the kind alicorn.

"Why yes-you see-I want a lot of ponies to come this year, so as many pets as possible can find forever homes", Cadence felt a brief twinge of sadness when Fluttershy said this; she wished she had a pet of her own. "...and a lot more ponies would come if a princess like you could be there..."

"Oh!" Cadence said, honored that Fluttershy thought of her as famous. "I could certainly do that. I will do anything to help you find owners for those pets."

"So, um, is that a yes?" Fluttershy inquired. Cadence nodded. "Thank you so much for your help", Fluttershy smiled. She skipped out the door of the Crystal Palace, feeling light and full of happiness.
