I have a dream.

I have a dream.

The sun was out and I was running through the great town of ponyville with fillies chasing me. I laughed as they finally piled ontop of me as we played around, and did other fun activities. But they were not just ponies they were Minotaurs, Challenging, Griffons, and Buffalo.

Soon they had to leave since it was getting dark out and I had to return home. The friendly ponies waved and greeted me as I walked down the streets of the laid back town finally reaching my temporary home.

Sugar cube corner.

The Cake family were nice enough to let me share a room with another tenant by the name of Pinkie Pie, who turned out to be the element of Laughter.

Jesus! Isn’t that the understatement of the year. She’s more like the GOD of laughter as she knew just what buttons to press to make me laugh.

I like equestria everyone here has been nice, and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived, and helped me through the pain of getting over the loss of my past life.

….

If only that were true.

Hello, my name is Anonymous age 14 and Caucasian male, and I used to live in Equestria where the ponies reside.

The first few weeks have been a bit depressing for me because I was simply human they have never seen me before, and they had no idea of my capabilities. Then it changed. Their point of view changed about me. Their feeling about me changed. The way they act around me changed.

        It changed…. for the worse.

I prefer those days. Currently I am called many things, dirty monster, monkey, useless ape, etcetera. I tried to stay calm and try to reason with them but they wouldn't listen. They saw it as me losing my “temper” or me turning violent, and I spent a week in jail where they gave me food I couldn't even digest…. for talking.

Now I make my own food, clothes, and shelter. I live across the forest where that zebra is but we have never met. i was afraid that she will do something to me if I ever got close.

I’ll admit it I am scared. I am scared of retaliating against a race that has magic, and control of the elements. I am scared of angering the goddesses of the world of equus. I am terrified of losing my life.

Why don’t I fight back?

“Violence is not the answer.” Is what my father would say. He died from a gunshot wound…A week after Christmas. I cherish and act on his advice I don’t want to disappoint him. I sometimes think that he is in heaven watching me. I would sometimes talk out loud as if he was there.

I was walking down the street in the market hoping someone would sell me something. Then a sweet smell filled the air. I sniffed around some more to trace where it was coming from. Finally I pinpointed where the sweet sugary aroma was coming from.

A giant gingerbread house.

I have walked by the strange structure many times before but I have never been inside. I warily walked inside looking around only seeing some ponies giving me dirty glares but none seem to be making a move. I walked up to the counter seeing a certain pink pony behind the counter.

As soon as she saw me though…Her whole giddy attitude changed. Her fluffy hair seemed to be deflated and she had a more solemn look on her face.

“Hi… umm… What can I get for you today?” She said staring to the ground.

“I’ll take 2 cupcakes. Please.” I said with a bit of desperation. Food in the Everfree has gotten short and I have been saving up on the ponies currency which are apparently called bits. It took me 10 hours of scavenging before getting enough money. I took out all the money in my pocket and placed it on the counter.

“Umm that’s a bit too much mist-.”

“No that’s seems about right.” said a random pony coming up next to me giving me a mean glare.

“But-”

“No you don’t have to lower the price ma’am. Is this monkey threatening you?!” He said with another glare.

“No, no I’m not threatening her.” I looked towards the pink mare.

“Please just take the money I don’t even want the cupcakes anymore.” I said wanting to leave as soon as possible.

“No, that’s alright; give him a single banana muffin.” He said looking at the pink mare.

“But I-”

“Did I give you permission to speak ya useless ape!”

“I don’t even like bananas!”

As I said that pinkie set down a muffin while shaking frantically. Suddenly the stallion took the muffin and shoved it in my mouth. The taste of bananas filling my mouth. It was just like… last time.

Flashback

I was walking in the streets hoping to at least get a job today. Whistling a tune on my way around town.

“Look someone taught the monkey how to whistle.” I heard. I then felt something hard hit me in the arm. I looked down to see the one fruit that I hated the most.

A banana

Ever since I came here ponies have been throwing bananas at me and yelling at me. Suddenly I was tackled to the ground, and turned over onto my back. I looked up to see a random mare holding a banana to my mouth.

“Come on you useless ape and get a bite of this delicious banana.”

“But I don’t like bananas!” I exclaimed. But my words fell on deaf ears. He took the peel off and raised the naked banana. And brought it down shoving it in my mouth.

Flashback end

I held back the tears and swallowed bit by bit.

“There was that so hard.” A few chuckles was heard.

“Now scram!” He said giving me a cold glare.

I sprinted out of the store and into the streets the taste of the dangerous fruit. Why is it so dangerous you might ask? Well to put it simply. I am allergic.

I don’t know why I didn’t have an allergic reaction the first time but this time I could feel my lips itching and my throat the air flow in my throat stopping. I fell to my knees to be greeted by a half used pencil and a piece of paper. I suddenly entered a state of shock as I picked it up and ran back in the Everfree forest.

Finally I deemed myself to be deep enough to where I could not be found. I remembered the sheet of paper and I suddenly had the urge to write so I did.

3rd POV back at Twilight's Library

Twilight stood next to a crying Pinkie rubbing her back as she muttered inaudible words.

**Knock! Knock!**

Then Twilight suddenly remembered that Princess Celestia was supposed to be visiting! She zoomed over to the door and quickly opened it.

“Good afternoon Princess Celestia!” She said giving a small bow. Celestia could only giggle at Twilight.

“Rise Twilight. This is only a meeting amongst friends.” She said to the purple pony.

“Of course Prin- I mean Celestia!” Twilight said motioning her to come inside. Celestia smiled at the neatness and qu-. Wait is that the sound of crying? She looked to see Pinkie with her mane down and her fluids in her eyes being sucked out.

“What is wrong with Pinkie.”She asked. Twilight sighed.

“I don’t know I was just reading and she suddenly burst in crying.” Celestia then walked over to the crying pony and draped a wing around her.

“What is wrong my little pony.”

“Crooked neck sore left shoulder.”

“My pinkie sense.”

“What does it mean?”

“Somepo- No! SomeONE died, and it is all my fault.”

The news shook both of the Twilight, and Celestia.

“Who?”

“Let me show you.”

Celestia pov

Pinkie guided us into the everfree within the deep forest I could see the great tree of harmony and a figure laying right under it.

“Hey! It’s that hairless monkey!” Twilight exclaimed.

“He’s not a monkey!” Pinkie lashed out.

“He is an intelligent human being! He can think, feel, and breathe like we do. And because of ponies racism he is dead. Everyone treated him badly and forced him to do things he didn't want to do! Today some bucking idot force fed him a banana. Guess what?”

Pinkie’s rage filled the forest I can feel the animals in the forest running away from the location in fear.

“He’s allergic!” She was now bursting into tears as Twilight looked at her in shock.

I looked at the body. I found the crea- no the human’s claw like digits over a parchment. I walked over to it and picked it up reading what was on it.

“Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the equestrian dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all creatures are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the yellow hills of Appaloosa, the sons of the buffalo and the sons of the ponies will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Las Pegasus, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of equality and justice.

I have a dream that our little fillies, and colts will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the their race  but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day, down in Canterlot, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of "interposition" and "nullification" -- one day right there in Canterlot little Challenging colts and Challenging fillies will be able to join hands with little pony colts and pony fillies as sisters and brothers.

I have a dream today!

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the land shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."

This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the Equestria with.

With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of this nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for equalism together, knowing that we will be equal one day.

And this will be the day -- this will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing a new song with a real meaning:

My country 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.

Land where my father’s died, land of all species pride,

From every mountainside, let equalism ring!

Let equalism ring from the heightening mountain of Canterlot.

Let equalism ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Stalliongrad.

Let equalism ring from the curvaceous slopes Las Pegasus.

Let equalism ring in the desert of appleoosa.

But not only that:

Let equalism ring from Stone Mountain of the dragon’s nesting grounds.

Let equalism ring from Lookout of the Griffon kingdom.

Let equalism ring from every hill and molehill of the Challenging hives.

From every mountainside, let equalism ring.

And when this happens, and when we allow equalism ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every Continent and every Country, we will be able to speed up that day when all of Equs’' children, Buffalo and nChangeling, Dragons and Griffons, Ponies and Humans, will be able to join appendages and sing in the words of the new species spiritual:

Equal at last! Equal at last!

Thank God Almighty, we are equal at last!

Sincerely,

Anony”

Then it stopped the pen went down the page signaling his last breath. Pinkie was sniffling, and Twilight looked at me with fearful eyes. I sighed and folded the parchment and held the letter in the grasp.

“If you will excuse me I will need to make some… Changes.” I said as I teleported back to the castle.
