Fleetwood is the latest in a long line of noble Pegasi, and is far from the greatest. In the first forty years of his life, he has done nothing but gamble, drink, and cheat. His pockets are empty, his breath stinks of booze, and half the mares in his life want to bludgeon him to death with a fire poker.

However, when Princess Celestia authorizes the Brougham family's return to their native Everfree County, under the possession of Changelings since 1982, Fleetwood is declared Lord Brougham V of Everfree. Ruling over a wild, overgrown land, he has two options. To rise to the occasion, and turn the territory into a prosperous corner of Equestria, or cop out, and go home.

He will not go home.
