Dear Trixie,

I know you have gone around and traveled to many of the abandoned temples...with sometimes unpredictable results. But I have now assigned Sunset Shimmer, a new visitor to our dimension, to your current task. Back on the subject of dimension traveling, me and the other princesses have been noticing disruptions, so to speak. Disruptions in time. We have been spotting things that were built somewhere appear in another place. I assure you this is no accident. I fear we may have acquired a new enemy. Possibly more powerful than your doppelgänger, as ludicrous as that must sound. Meet me at Canterlot where we can discuss this matter ourselves, face to face. I have absolute confidence in you.

Your's Truly

Princess Celestia.

Trixie read a scroll on top of a remote mountain where she was sure that she was the only one there breathing. It snowed harder than the citizens of Ponyville ever could fathom. The light blue unicorn looked off into the distance to see a white castle.

"Well, looks like my Winter Vacation is over," Trixie remarked.

"Where could she possibly be!?" Celestia asked herself, awaiting her new student's arrival. She had been in a panic after seeing one horrible sight: All the statues in the Canterlot Gardens being replaced by statues of Nightmare Moon.

"Tia, what is going on!?" a distressed Luna asked. Seeing the statues of her alter ego brought up painful, painful memories.

"I don't know, Luna. I don't know," Celestia replied, suddenly sounding somber.

"Nightmare was destroyed! That was the end of it! I cannot comprehend what caused this if it was not that beast..." Suddenly, as luck would have it, Trixie came into the room, running as fast as she possibly could.

"Celestia, what's going on?" Trixie asked, out of breath.

"Trixie, thank goodness you've come! As stated in my letter, we suspect a new threat is aproaching. A threat we thought Twilight destroyed." Celestia remembered the dark aura of that psychopath and every murder that monster committed. Not one night did it not haunt her.

"Who, or what, is this threat?"

"N-Nightmare," Celestia said with great effort.

"Nightmare Moon?!" Trixie gasped.

"No, just Nightmare," Luna replied. "Nightmare is a diobolical symbiote that is the self proclaimed 'manifestation of revenge.' She finds hosts, like me, and influences their minds."

"This time.........she has chosen you. An alternate you," Celestia explained.

"How do we stop her then? We don't even know where she is!"

"Actually, we do know of her whereabouts," Celestia said as she walked to a large mirror.

"The human world?"

"Yes. A place so helpless against a force such as the demon. But I fear you may not be able to handle Nightmare all by yourself. That is why...we're going somepony who has dealt with Nightmare before: you," Celestia explained.

"Me? But I've never met this Nightmare!" Trixie protested.

"It appears I have some explaining to do. In an alternate timeline, Nightmare returned. You, in that timeline, stopped her. I need you to go to that timeline and join forces with...um...yourself,"

"How...do I even do that?"

"You'll know what to do. I've already informed...er...myself of your arrival. Good luck." A massive burst of light covered the room, blinding Trixie.

Celestia led Trixie to a mirror. It looked very distorted and strange. Trixie pressed her hoof against the mirror. Suddenly her reflection came out in real life.

"Trixie." The reflection said.

"You're...me!" Trixie exclaimed.

"I know, I had the same reaction. But you have to listen! Something terrible is happening. It's in the human world!"

"What is this problem?"

The reflection paused for a minute.

"It's you....or to be more precise...the human you." The reflection responded gravely. Trixie stepped back, confused.

"Listen, I've just come back from this crazy time travel trip. Can this wait?"

"No time! I'm very sorry,  Trixie Lulamoon," The second Trixie grabbed the first by the ear and dragged her unwillingly towards the mirror and dropped her in. She gave a nod to Celestia, to which she nodded back and headed into the portal.

The human Trixie woke up in a dark chamber, dazed and confused. She struggled to get up but soon found her legs were trapped by dark vines.

"W-where is Trixie!? She demands to know who is responsible!" Trixie yelled. But her only response was the sound of a clap. "Oh! You're a fan?"

"Of...sorts...." A mysterious woman walked slowly towards Trixie with a green glow in her eyes. She wore armor of purple and black and had hair as white as clouds. It did not take long for Trixie to realize that woman was herself. "I hope you don't mind. I changed your appearance a bit to fit my needs." Trixie shot her double a glare. Her appearance was familiar but her voice was not.

"Who...are you? Where is Trixie!?"

"You're in the deepest corner of your subconscious. As for my name...My name is currently Trixie Lulamoon but I went by a couple of other names I think you'll recognize. Puddles, Luna, Rarity, GOD, and very recently....Fairy Godmother." Trixie's eyes widened. "That's right, dearie. I'm your very special friend. I've been working ever so hard making you powerful. However, without your full cooperation I grow........weak..." Trixie's double suddenly clutched her leg, which had some sort of shadowy dust leaking from it. "But. Now that you're awake, we can work together! Come now, Trixie, you've been working your heart out, performing for your peers. And for what? For little miss Twilight Sparkle to save the day and snatch away all the attention you deserve. This is what YOU want. This is what I want. There are no downsides."

The vines suddenly let go of Trixie and dropped her to the ground. Trixie's double extended her hand.

"Do we have a deal?"

Trixie grabbed her double's hand.

"It's a deal, Miss...."

"Nightmare."

Trixie suddenly woke up in what looked like a war zone in the aftermath of a battle. Millions of dead bodies surrounded her. Trixie was a bit scared at first, but her eyes glowed green and she laughed and laughed and LAUGHED and LAUGHED and LAUGHED...
