Her Perfect Rainbow Maneby Harmonic BrushChaptersThe sonic rainboomAt and after the galaA royal wedding pt 1The sonic rainboomToday was the Best Young Fliers competition in Cloudsdale. I was excited for this because us wonderbolts got to judge. I, along with the rest of the team, saw Princess Celestia flying down onto her reserved seat. "Please welcome our celebrity judges for the best young fliers competition, the wonderbooooooooolts!" and with that, our entire team flew off and into the stadium as many ponies cheered. We did a couple tricks and sat down in our seats. "And now, let's find out who will take the prize as this best young flier!" The first contestant was off. Orange coat, double-tone pink mane, blue eyes. I think I've seen her around Cloudsdale. She did a couple tricks and finished up her routine. Spitfire and Misty pointed out a few mistakes that she made, but overall it seemed pretty polished. The second performance. Brown pegasus stallion with a darker brown mane and blue eyes. Hourglass cutie mark. He attempted 10 barrel rolls, but only got about 7 right. More and more performances went about. A few of the ponies messed up here and there, but it wasn't anything too big. My favourite competitor was number 7, Leeroy Wingkins. 15 barrel rolls in a row. Not bad, for a rookie. Number 10, was, ok. She seemed nice, but she wasn't very precise. Finally, contestant number 15. The last one of the day. She came out with another pony, which wore a lot of makeup and was apparently a unicorn. But I didn't focus much on the unicorn, I focused more on the cyan competitor, a rather pretty one if I may say. Her first act was weaving and gliding through cloud pillars. It was decent, up 'til the point where she crashed into the stadium. I made sure I noted that. Second act. Meh. She spun clouds. It was pretty, until, well, she crashed a cloud into the princess. Poor Celestia. Well, it was a cloud, so it wouldn't really hurt. For her last act, she flew up at a very fast rate. Up, and up, and up. The cyan pegasus's partner, friend, I dunno, acquaintance flew up to the sun. Once she reached up there, the colours of her wings shone through and onto the crowd of ponies. It was gorgeous, except her wings burst into flames. Spitfire, Misty and I dove down after her. Man, her screaming is really annoying. Misty Fly tried to save her first but was slapped in the face. I tried, but was kicked in the jaw. Spitfire got her glasses wiped clean off her face. I couldn't tell if they were unconscious. All I knew is that I wasn't. I could see and hear. However, I couldn't talk or move. "Hold on Rarity, I'm coming!" yelled a voice, obviously belonging to a mare high from the skies. "Oh, please be saving me! Please be saving me!" I silently wished in my mind. I heard the mare screaming louder. A new sound was introduced; the sound of air curving in. Possibly around something or somepony. I, while still being terrified of falling to my death, opened my eyes to see myself getting closer and closer to the ground as each second passed. The unicorn mare let out a gasp. Now all I could hear was what sounded like jolts of lightning. After the lightning-like sounds finished playing, the sound of curving air got louder. Then, BAM! I couldn't actually see what it was that caused all the noise. Mere seconds before I hit the ground, almost dying, somepony swiped me up and put me on their back. Through my goggles, I was able to see her. Her mane, her perfect rainbow mane flowed beautifully with the wind. I was put into the hooves of a pegasus. I was taken away by him. "Take me back!" I yelled in my mind, pretending to kick him. Eventually, Spitfire, Misty Fly and I got to see the mare who saved us again. Spitfire personally thanked her, I wished I would've thanked her too, but I'm a little shy. After a long, hard, really weird day at the Best Young Fliers competition, Spitfire, Misty Fly and I were talking about the day. "That was close!" Misty yelled, "we could've died back there!" Spitz and I nodded. That was close-too close. "I wish I would've thanked that mare who saved us.." I added on as my thoughts trailed off. "It's your fault, goofball," Spitfire replied, a mix of playfulness and annoyance in her voice, "If you just talked to her." "Hey!" I defensively yelled, "you know I can't do that! I've been shy ever since I was a colt!" "Get over it, there's nothing to be scared of." Spitfire calmed down a bit. "Um, hello, anyone remember me?" Misty cut in, "we were kinda talking about almost dying." "I know Misty," Spitfire told the pegasus, "but I'm just trying to help Soarin get over his shyness." I scowled at the captain. She scowled back. I layed my head down on a cloud, thinking about that mare, that beautiful mare. Her cerise eyes sparkled in the light. Her mane flowed perfectly in the wind. Her determination to save that other mare. I couldn't help but keep on thinking about her as Spitfire and Misty chatted about the day's events. Misty got up to leave, shortly followed by Spitfire. Meh. I'm cool with that. I just lounged on a cloud for 10-15 minutes before getting bored and flying home. I tucked myself into my bed. 5 minutes, no sleep. 10 minutes, no sleep. I kept thinking about that mare. Beautiful blue coat, sparkling cerise eyes, lovely determination to save that unicorn mare, me, and the other wonderbolts. But most importantly, that mane. Her perfect rainbow mane. Author's Note Ok, I re-made this. Thanks to HazardPony for the ideas in his review submission thread thing. I tried to make it better. Hope I did! And yes, there is a lot of dialogue, but I tried to even it out. At and after the galaI was carrying a pie in my mouth towards the VIP wonder bolt section. I got it from a nice, country mare. While I was there, I caught up with Spitfire. "Always hungry after a show, eh Soarin?" Spitfire asked me. "Yea," I replied, causing me to drop the big apple pie. I gasped and yelled, "My PIEEEE!" Spitfire and I watched the pie almost fall to the ground. MY PIE! Then, mere seconds before it hit the ground, the same mare who saved my life saved my pie. "You saved it," I said relieved, "Thanks," I slapped a smile on my face. "Hey, no prob," the mare replied as I took the pie in my mouth. I took the pie to the table as the two mares chatted about. I have no idea about what. As I was eating the yummy pie, I was mentally yelling at myself. "Dang my shyness! I really wanted to talk to her!" "Well, Rainbow Dash, it looks likes your skills saved us again. Well, at least they saved Soarin's apple pie." Spitfire said pointing her head in my direction. I gobbled down the pie bit by bit. "om ohm om yea." Every time I tried to talk to her, I was pulled away by fans to take pictures or just to talk. I really wanted to thank her for saving my life, and better, my pie! She saved my pie! I mean sure, I'm shy, slightly insecure, introverted, goofy, immature, and silly, but I'm kind, sweet, and I'm apparently nice. When I finally got the chance to talk to the mare, she dived away towards a statue. She caught it but slowly dropped it, causing a huge fiasco. I almost tripped on a squirrel. I rushed outside, mainly because I have a fear of squirrels. After what seemed about 30 minutes, I went back inside. I saw Spitfire, so I ran up to her. "Hey Spitfire," I asked the orange mare, "where's that girl who saved my pie?" "Oh, you mean Rainbow Dash? She and her friends left," She answered before going back to fans. "S-she left?" I said to myself with a tone of sadness and confusion, and a disappointed face. Spitfire nodded before turning her attention to the crowd of ponies. I was basically silently crying. Thinking of that mare. All the colours of the rainbow. Flashy, but not showy. She also had that awesome cutie mark that I remember. Not that I was looking at her flank or anything! I, while still being upset, stepped outside for a minute, to look at the garden, of course, even though it was destroyed. I touched a few of the flowers, well, the ones that weren't broken. The petals were golden, just like Rainbow Dash's headpiece and shoes. I picked it up and smelled it. It had the fresh scent of an ocean breeze, much like the mare's mane. I stared at the sky. Full of stars glistening. Sparkling beautifully. I saw a rainbow streak across the night sky. It was attached to the mare who had saved my pie. Same cute face, same mane do same beautiful dress. It was her. "Hey, Rainbow Dash!" I yelled out trying to get her attention, but it was no use. It was not loud enough for her to hear. I unfurled my wings and tried to chase after her, but she was way too fast, even for a wonderbolt such as myself. I was panting and sweating. It was no use, she was way too far away by now, and I couldn't keep up, so I returned to the garden. "Dang you Soarin! Dang you!" I yelled at myself for giving in and not persisting, "All you needed to do was go up to her and yell her name! It was that simple!" After about 15 minutes there, I got bored and decided to just head off home. I straightened out my wings, and with one flap, took to the skies. The cool night air rushed over my windswept mane, causing it to blow in the wind. My tail flickered every second I went farther. My wings started to ache with each minute of flying, but eventually it passed and I was home. "Ah, home at last," I said relieved that I didn't fall as I entered the house. I live in a small, remote neighbourhood located on the outskirts of Cloudsdale. Sure, I was a Wonderbolt and could afford much better, but I like it out here. I trotted into my bedroom, closed all the curtains, got under the covers and tried to fall asleep, but I failed. I tried counting crystal ewes like any smart pony would, but that failed as well. I couldn't stop thinking about how I didn't even get to talk to her, especially after she saved my life, and better, my pie. Anypony that saved my pie was like a god or goddess to me. Her sweet delicate voice rang through my head. Her beautiful sparkling moderate cerise eyes and her beautiful mane, no matter what style. This was all I could think about. She was sweet, lovely, loyal, strong, and kind. Everything I'm looking for. The only thing I wonder is...does she like me back? Author's Note Yea..so..yea. A royal wedding pt 1Spitfire, Fleetfoot, the rest of the wonderbolts and I were invited to attend the royal wedding. Of course, we weren't given the best of seats. Straight in the middle. Not terrible either. Just enough to see the bride and groom, so I guess that's good. We heard as 'here comes the bride' starting playing from the birdsong choir and signalled the beginning of the ceremony. Everypony turned their attention to the 3 flowerfillies that left a trail of petals for the bride as she entered the room. Her dress had a long, white and yellow trail and lovely beading. It was made of a gorgeous shimmery fabric. The pink alicorn walked down the aisle towards her groom. She was cute, I guess. Not as cute as Dash though. "Mares and gentlecolts, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Princess Mi Amore Cadenza and Shining Armour," Princess Celestia spoke. "Princess Cadence and Shining Armour, it is my great pleasure to announce you.." Princess Celestia's voice was cut off by a yell. "STOOOP!" the voice yelled, then a figure emerged from the doors. A bunch of chatter ran throughout the castle before being interrupted by the pink alicorn princess. "Ugh. Why does she have to be so possessive of her brother?" the princess grunted. Ponies started at her before she softened her tone and pretended to cry, "why does she have to ruin my special day?" "Because, it's not your special day," a voice that replicated hers yelled before revealing herself, "it's mine!" Ponies gasped as they layer their eyes on a princess exactly replicated to that of the soon-to-be wed, except her mane looked messier and she was all scratched up and raggedy. "What? But how did you escape my bridesmaids?" 'Princess Cadence' asked the 2 mares. They flashed back and retold the story, "Huh, clever, but you're still too late!" "Ah, ah don't understand," Applejack said with a confused look, "how can there be two of 'em?" "She's a changeling," the real Princess Cadence announced, "she takes the form of some pony you love and gains power by feeding of your love for them." The false princess was soon surrounded by green flames. Her two wings soon revealed to be a blueish-green with holes in them. Her hooves turned black, also with holes in them, and her horn grew longer and had holes in it as well. Her longish blue mane had holes, as did most of her body. She doubled in size, grew fang-like teeth, and spoke with a multi-toned voice. "Right you are Princess, and as Queen of the changelings, it is up to me to find food for my subjects," the changeling queen announced, "Equestria has more love than any place I've ever encountered. My fellow changelings will be able to devour so much of it. Then we will gain more power than we have ever dreamed of!" "They'll never get the chance!" Princess Cadence fired back, "Shining Armour's protection spell will keep them from ever even reaching us!" The queen chuckled "oh I doubt that, isn't that right, dear?" the queen lit up her horn. Shining Armour nodded under the full control of Queen Chrysalis. As the queen continued speaking, Spitfire shook me repeatedly and kept whispering my name. "Soarin! Soarin!" Spitfire shook me, "snap out of it!" "Huh? What?" I replied snapping out of my trance. "How can I?" I asked Spitfire. "How can you what?" "Stop staring at her." "Who?" "Her," I answered, darting my vision at the cyan pegasus. "Rainbow Dash?" Spitfire asked me. I nodded. She rolled her eyes as I continued to stare in her direction. "No, you won't." Princess Celestia spoke up, "you may have made it impossible for Shining Armour to perform his spell, but now that you have so foolishly revealed your true self," Celestia ran up to Chrysalis, the queen doing the same. Their horns touched as a sign of battle, "I can protect my subjects, from you!" Celestia flew up into the air and shot a golden beam of magic straight at the Queen. The Queen counter-acted with a ray of green magic. The Queen was slowly losing, and she uttered out a few words that was too far away for me to hear. The green magic slowly made it's way up to the Princess's horn. She fell on the ground with a thud, her crown flying off her head, and her horn burnt at the tip. The whole castle gasped as the same unicorn who yelled stop rushed to her side, along with all the bridesmares, one of them being Dash. As the 6 bridesmares rode off and out of the castle, I wanted to follow them, but Spitfire held me back. She said it was 'too dangerous,' and she was worried I might get hurt. It was about 2 minutes after Dash had left, and I already missed her nice cyan fur, and her awesome cutie mark. But luckily I got to see her dress, because she left it behind. I may or may not have considered stealing it. I'm totally not creepy. I ran outside as changelings started invading, either that or stay in the castle. Multiple Rainbow Dashes right before my eyes. "Is this a dream...?" I asked myself before collapsing on the ground Author's Note Yea. I'm making this into a second part. Basically just filler . Next part will be more interesting, probably!
