Prologue
Princess Solstice held her colt, the white colt had his eyes closed, she noticed the missing wings first. She gave a weak smile.
"You'll earn them my son. You'll do great things. I'll watch over you." Princess Solstice cooed. She was dying, from what the doctors knew, she had anywhere from a few hours, to a few seconds.
"Solstice." Princess cried. This was one of the few times she had ever cried in front of her sister. She always held in emotions, but this was too much.
"There... There has to be something we can do." Celestia begged. The doctor was not in the room. He knew what was going to happen. He could not bear to see Princess Solstice die.
Solstice turned to her sister, and said, "When Luna comes back, tell her I love her. Celestia, you're strong. You can survive, you've been strong since Sombra, and our parents, and Discord. Every conflict you've won, you've come out ten times stronger. I love you little sister." Princess Solstice cried. Her horn started to glow, and a pink gas rose into the air. The gas found its way out of the room, and the building.
"I sacrifice myself so no pony will have to do I am doing." Princess Solstice said and shut her eyes.
Celestia's crying intensified. She sat in the room, with no pony else but a foal, who had finally opened his eyes.
It was a fine autumn morning, the sun not being blocked out, despite the array of clouds in the sky. It was not too cold. A scarf or a jacket would be the most somepony would need to keep warm.
Phillies and colts played outside, couple took walks, it was such a wonderful day. Except one thing, this was Canterlot. That in itself was not bad. The bad part was, royalty lived in Canterlot, specifically Prince Blueblood. This could be better, except, no pony really liked Blueblood. He was a rotten, spoiled, rude pony. Nopony really liked Blueblood, nopony except himself. But he honestly did not care. He did not have a lot of liking for other ponies.
The hallway echoed with whispers, two mares stood by a door.
"Come on! I cleaned the room last week!" One of the mares said. Her voice was filled with worry, as well as anger. She did not want to be near this room, let alone clean it.
"Yeah, because I was on vacation. It's your turn this week!" The other gave her argument, not a good one, and she knew this. She knew very well it would be her to do this chore.
The mares glared at each other. One of them sighed, and quietly opened door. She walked in, the maid looked around looking for him. She did not see him. She let out a sigh of relieve. She gave a smile, and started to do her job.
The other mare walked in and started to help. Might as well get the job done quickly.
"Where were you two?" A stallion behind them asked.
The two jumped, they were caught. The stallion who they hoped was not there, was there.
"I want an answer." Said Prince Blueblood. The stuck up stallion was already awake, ready, and waiting.
"Pr- Prince Blueblood! We thought you had left, we were, we were just running a little late! That's all." One of the mares said quickly. There was a lot of fear in her voice, like how she worded her sentence could end her life.
"Do not even attempt to lie to me, I heard you two, bickering out there!"
The two were terrified.
"STOP!" A mare yelled, Blueblood instantly recognized the voice immediately, it was Princess Luna. Princess Luna walked into the room, she gave a stern look to Blueblood, and then spoke to the two mares, "Leave us."
The two mares ran out of the room after saying, "Thank you, Princess Luna!" Princess Luna, who was now angrier then she already was, then said to Blueblood, "Celestia wishes to speak to you." Blueblood sighed, obviously annoyed. He left his room, and went through the castle to the throne room. Celestia saw him as he entered the large hallway-like room.
"Blueblood, come here." Celestia said calmly. Blueblood went over to his aunt, and looked around for a place to sit.
"There are no chairs." Blueblood pointed out. A guard started to leave to receive a chair from another room, but Celestia stopped him before he could take five steps.
"Blueblood, my nephew, you have done very little for the land of Equestria, you do nothing but be rude to its subjects. As much as it pains me to do it; but unless you can pull yourself together, your prince title is being stripped from you."
Blueblood gasped, "How dare you? My mother was the most powerful of you three!" Blueblood exclaimed, like the fact would help him.
"But she is dead. You know that. You are no prince, Blueblood, just a spoiled, rude, stallion. Goodbye my nephew."
"Its because of that Twilight? Is it not? You wish to replace me! Why I-" Blueblood was stopped by Celestia, "It has nothing to do with Twilight Sparkle, it has to do with you. Now, there is an apartment being reserved for you, it will be yours for two weeks, until you get job, and your own place to live. The guards will show you to it."
Two guards stepped up and dragged Blueblood out of the castle, and threw him on the streets.
The two guards looked at each other, and then at Blueblood. They both had what in there minds was a brilliant idea.
