The life of a soldier is a though one, from training to combat. When young Midnight Sky volunteers to serve in Equestria's Royal Army to escape the slums, he is about to find out how difficult it could really be.

From the harsh training regime at Camp Horseshoe to the disastrous defeat in Equestria's first battle with the Griffons. He would meet enemies who would watch him suffer, while he would gain friends who would lend a hoof anytime. Midnight Sky is about to find out that the army is not what they endorsed it to be. Instead of the adventure he was promised, his life will turn into a struggle for survival. A struggle that is harder than the one he previously went through.
