Twilight went inside first. From the inside Fluttershys house looked almost normal, at least compared to what's happening outside. But there was no sign of Fluttershy. "Fluttershy?" asked Twilight, "Are you here?" "Yes, I am up here," said a very quiet voice from above. "What are you doing up there?" asked Twilight while the others entered Fluttershys house too. "Floating, I guess," said the voice "A little help please?" After Rainbow Dash brought a rock and Applejack used a rope to attach the rock to Fluttershy so she wont fly away Twilight explained whats going on in the rest of Ponyville. "Oh that sounds horrible. But what can we do about it?" asked Fluttershy Twilight. "Well we hoped you could help us there. We think Discord is behind all this." "Discord?!" said Fluttershy surprised and she was even more surprised when a trapdoor opened next to her and Discord was coming through it. "Yes, my dear Fluttershy, you called me?" said he. "I didn't know there was a trapdoor," said Fluttershy. "Discord!" screamed Twilight, "stop destroying Ponyville!" "Oh my dearest Twilight, you know how much I dislike to disappoint you but I have absolutly no clue what you're talking about." said Discord with an overly dramatic tone. "Don't try to fool us Discord, we know you are responsible for the chaos out there." "Chaos you say?", wondered Discord while looking out of the window. While he was looking into the sky the sun changed color. First the sun became green, then red before turning completly black for a moment just before turning purple and then stayed in a light blue color. "Yes, yes, whoever's responsible for this must be a true master of the chaotic arts. Who do you said is responsible?" "Well we thouhgt you are!" "Oh no, the only thing I did was sitting in Fluttershys basement where i was peacefully reading a book." "I have a basement?" wondered a totally confused Fluttershy. "Oh by the way, where's our dear friend Rarity?" asked Discord and just stired up confusion. "What do you mean she's right he..." said Twilight but she stoped when she not saw Rarity anywhere around. "I'm right here," a voice sounded out of the place Rarity standed last. "What's wrong?" said the voice after it saw the puzzled faces of her friends. Rainbow Dash flew to the place the voice was coming from and carefully poked the air with her hoof. After she hit on some sort of resistance and even got "What the hay do you think you're doing?!" as a response she turned towards her friends and just said "Rainbow Dash", and all of her friends knew: Rarity was invisible. "See?", said Discord, "you all could see now that I didn't do anything, but our friend still turned invisible. There must be someone else behind all this! Would you please believe me? After all, isn't that what friends do?" "Maybe you're right," said Twilight, "maybe somepony else is doing all this, but who?" The ChaosBefore they started searching for whoever's responsible for the strange things happening in Ponyville the Mane 6 and Discord went to Twilights castle, which was luckily mostly intact, hoping there would be a spell to help Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity. It didn't take to long for them to find some spells and while Twilight prepared them, Spike and Discord searched for a book about what or who was causing the trouble. "Alright, Rainbow, Applejack, this one should help you speak again," said Twilight while she started to cast the spell. "Thanks, Twilight," said Rainbow Dash after Twilight finished. "Thank ya," said Applejack. "You're welcome, next one is Rarity." "Is she even here?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Of course I am!" answered an annoyed Rarity. "Well, sorry, but it's hard to tell if you are invisible." "But luckily she won't be for long," said Twilight as she started to cast a spell on Rarity, who was standing right next to them in the next moment. "Have you found anything about what's going on?" asked she Spike and Discord while she casted the last spell on Fluttershy. "No, nothing," answered Spike, "and Discord isn't helping very much." "Discord!" screamed Twilight angrily. "Well, excuuuuse me, princess, but it's 3 pm and time for my daily bubble bath. You can't expect me to miss on that," said Discord while he was sitting in a bathtub full of bubbles. "Uuhhh, BUBBLES!" screamed Pinkie Pie as she jumped right next to Discord in the bathtub. "Pinkie Pie! We don't have time for this, Equestria is decending into chaos right now while we are talking.", said Twilight. "But there isn't very much we can do about it," said Spike "after all we don't who's responsible for all this." "Who!" Said Owlowiscious, who was sitting at the window. "I don't know," said Spike to Owlowiscious. "No Spike, I don't think Owlowiscious was asking. I think he wanted to show us something." said Applejack as she walked toward the window where Owlowiscious was sitting. "And that something is a creepy looking pony down the street." Everypony came to the window and looked at who Owlowiscious and Applejack were pointing at. He was a unicorn and as tall as Celestia, he was dark gray with an even darker, altough not antirely black, mane. Everypony was looking at each other, could he be the one causing all this? The Chaos IIPonyville was, and there are no other words for it, chaotik. It was hard for anypony to spot anything that looks normal. The sky had turned into some sort of checkerboard pattern with tiles made out of day sky and tiles made out of night sky and the chess figures were represented by multiple different coloured suns for the one team, and many apples in different sizes for the other. Some chuncks in the ground had been replaced by clouds and the clouds in the sky had been replaced by hay bales. The houses which were normal the last time Twilight and here friends passed them were now either in a miniature size, had invisible walls, although the furniture inside was still visible, had been turned inside out or even all three. Even the ponies running around screamed didn't look so well. Some unicorns had their horn attached to their back while some pagasi had their wings attached to their head, some ponies had their mane and tail swapped, what 'looked kinda funny' as Pinkie Pie stated and some ponies were even more deformed. "Sweet Celestia, I hope that things look better at Sweet Apple Acres," said Applejack and just as she said one of the closets attached to the wall of one of the 'inside out'-houses oppened and the group could barely make out some apple trees, ecept that these trees grew anything but apples, before a green Big Mac put his head out of the closet said 'nope' and disappeared again just before the closed turned into a bush. As the 6 ponies came closer to the mysterious strager they got more and more certain, that the pony in front of them was the reason behind all the strange things that keep happening. Not only was he the only pony who didn't totally freak out but also had he an aura which gave everypony who got close to him the creeps. Discord on the other hand felt a peaceful calmness as he came closer to the stranger. "Are you..." started Twilight when they were close enough to the misterious pony but she had to stop because when the stranger turned towards them and looked her in the eyes after he heard her speaking, she felt a sharp bolt of dark energy running through her body. "Yes? Am i what?" asked the stranger. Twilight had to take a deep breath before she could speak again. "Are you the one who's destroying Ponyville?" "Well, if you ask me this so direclty," he made a break before continuing, "no, I'm not destroying anything. I'm shaping this land into something more fitting for my desires. After all, it's the reign of chaos now, that's me by the way, I'm chaos, and the chaos deserves to have kingdom, which fits his name right?" "As if we haven't heard that before," mumbled Discord thinking that this pony is only copying him. "So you are responsible for all this?" asked Twilight then she added: "And what do you mean by you're chaos?" "Yes, you could say if you put it that way, but I'm thinking just saying that I am responsible somehow misses the dramatic effect," said Chaos in a far less dramatic voice then he did before, "oh, and regarding your second question, you see, I am the manifestation of the chaos itself, I am everthing that is not odered and arranged, I am everything that is different, I am the voice in your head telling you to escape the daily life and try out something new. But you can call me 'The Manifestation Of Chaos And The Voice In Our Head Telling Us To Escape The Daily Life'." "Uh, I know that voice," said Pinkie Pie, "but it doesn't sound anything like you..." "I guess I will just call you Chaos," said Twilight ignoring Pinkie Pies comment. Chaos just sighed. Twilight found it very difficult to talk to Chaos. She didn't expect him to admit that he was the evil one so fast and his suppressing aura didn't help her either. Somehow she knew that his powers are far greater than hers. So it was Discord who was the first one to confront Chaos. "What were you thinking coming here and ruining the village of my friends?!" asked he. "What do you think talking sof disrespectful to me, your new emperor?" "As if you're my emperor. If you really think that way, I'm afraid I have to take you out!" "Bring it on!" Just as the two were about to fight, Twilight hold Discord back. "Discord, I don't think this is such a good idea. He looks very powerful," said she. "Oh don't worry my friend, I'm sure I can handle this," replied Discord. "I'm not worried about you loosing, Discord, I am worried about Ponyville. A fight between you two would destroy the whole village! There must be another way!" "Well, indeed there is," said Chaos who to the two, "You see, my only intention is to bring chaos to all of Equestria. If you can prove me that you are better then me at this, I will leave the stage to you." Twilight looked towards her friends. She didn't have to say anything, they knew what she was concerned about. "If we don't even have to fight him this will be totally easy," said Rainbow Dash. "Ah don't think it'll be that easy Rainbow," said Applejack, "We had to prove that we're more chaotic than the Chaos." But before they could decide whether to take on the challenge or not, Discord interrupted the decision by turning to Chaos and saying: "I accept your challenge!" Very well," said Chaos, "then it's settled. A competition about whoever is the most chaotic. The winner gets to rule over Equestria. But we will do this tomorrow. I give you some time to prepare, use it well." After he said this, he walked away. "Discord, what the hay are you doing?" asked Twilight. "I'm saving Equestria," said Discord with a for him unusual seriousness. PreparationsThe first thing to do now that Chaos stopped for now was to get everypony safe. Since most of Ponyville was destroyed the only safe place was Twilights castle. Luckily it was big enough for everypony. Once everypony was safe the Mane 6 started to prepare Discord for the competition. Rainbow was wearing her best coach outfit and was making her propably best coach performance. "So team, uhm, Discord, you may think you're ready for this this, don't you? Well, you AREN'T! This is not just any game, this is the most important game in your life. It is about the fate of all of Equestria! Do you understand me?" "Yes, sir, I mean, yes ma'am!" "Alright, show me the best you've got!" Discord took a deep breath before he threw a bowling ball on the ground ground, the ball bounced back and turned into a full moon, then there was an explosion, a penguin, a crystal pony, in the next moment the whole room was filled with ice cream and popcorn, then everything went back to normal except for Discord who was split up in 50 miniature Discords, they ran around and after a while they all jumped into each other and fused back into the normal Discord. "Hmm," said Rainbow Dash, "do you think that this can beat Chaos?" "...Maybe..." answered Discord. "Well, I think it cannot! You call yourself a dragonequus? I've seen ponies doing more chaotic things than this! And they weren't even unicorns, they had no magic at all! Speaking of which, where is Pinkie Pie anyway?" Discord answered by shrugging his shoulders. "Umm, Rainbow Dash," Fluttershy interrupted the training, "maybe you shouldn't be so mean to Discord. That is very bad for his self-confidence, and after all that's the most important thing." "What!?" was the only thing Rainbow Dash could say about this. "I'm...just suggesting..." "Look, I'm sorry, but you simple cannot compete with 'The Chaos' just with self-confidence. I mean, just thinking everything will go well won't help us this time." While the two were talking Discord decide to take a brake, he was at Fluttershys home - he could call it house anymore - and the sky-chess-game was about to come to an end, which could only mean that it would be night soon, at least he thought that, when Twilight found him. "Hey," said she. "Hey..." answered he. "Are you nervous because of the competition tomorrow?" "No, it's just...He kinda reminds me of myself, you know, before i found...friends." They looked each other in the eyes. Twilight could understand how Discord felt, there was a time she had no friends too. And now he's fighting for them against an enemy he maybe not be able to defeat. "Well, now you have friends," said Twilight, "friends who are willing to help you in this." Discord just noded, then Twilight said: "Together we can beat Chaos!" The CompetitionTwilight woke up early this morning. It was a beautiful sunrise. Wait, a normal sunrise? Twilight was surprised at first, she expected anything but a normal sunrise. She walked out of her castle to find out that most of Ponyville turned back to normal except for a giant building definitely hadn't been there before. Before Twilight could inspect the new building she saw Chaos and decided to talk to him first. "Chaos, did you turned everything back to normal?" "Yes, of course. Who else would be able to do this?" "That's great to hear, but I don't really understand why you changed your mind so fast." "I didn't. Turning this town back to normal is part of MY preparations after all you can't make a qualified decision if you have to compare someponys work to my masterpiece from yesterday. Wait, let me show you something." Chaos then teleported them into a huge stadium, which probably was the big building from before. "Impressive, isn't it," said Chaos, "but now let's fill it." Chaos casted a spell and suddenly many many ponies appeared, it looked like Chaos brought everypony living in Equestria here. Many of the ponys were still sleeping and the others were confused about the sudden change of location. By the look of some of the ponys Twilight could tell that Chaos only changed Ponyville back to normal. The stadium was so big, that even though so many ponys were there, more then half of the seats weren't taken. Twilight was teleported to a special stand, her friends right next to her. She tried to spot the other princess and thought she found them on the other side, but she wasn't sure, since the stadium was so big that they were to far away. Chaos casted another spells and the untaken places were suddenly filled with cheering ponys looking just like Chaos, they were just a bit smaler then he is. Some of them were even walking around giving varius snacks and drinks to the normal ponys. Chaos casted a last spell and a giant flying screen appeared above the stadium big enough for even the ponys in the very last line to see it clearly. On the screen was another Chaos-like pony with a microphone. "Attention everypony!" said the pony on the screen "Welcome to the Chaos-Competition, i will be your moderator." Everypony was now silently watching the screen. "The rules are simple: The competition consist of 9 rounds. Each round has a special target to fulfill. The contestant who causes the most chaos while fulfilling the target wins the round. Whoever wins the most rounds wins the competition and gets the grand prize: The rulership of Equestria!" The normal ponys gave out a collective *gasp*. "And now, let's welcome the contestants in the arena: Our first contestant is here do defend here title as the ruler of Equestria: Princess Celestia!" The screen showed Celestia appearing in the arena. She looked very confused and stressed and it was easy to tell that she didn't catched any sleep. "Now our second contestant and the favourit in this competition, the manifestation of the chaos itself: Chaos!" The screen switched to an image of Chaos standing proudly in the arena. All of the Chaosponys in the crowd cheered even louder. "And here comes the challenger, a so called creature of chaos: Discord The Dragonequus." Discord appeared still wearing a pyjama and sleeping on the ground, sucking on his tumb. He woke up and was very surprised to found himself inside a huge stadium. It took him less then a second to let his pyjama disappear and pose in front of the camera. "Normally that would have been all contestants," said the moderator, then he added mumbling, "well, we don't do this very often, in fact this is the first time, so we can't actually say something like 'normally'" he spoke the rest with his normal morderation tone, "but this time we have a fourth contestant. A pony who aproached me yesterday and asked me weather she can participate in this or not:" Twilight got a vague suspicion of who the moderator could be talking about, and she prayed that she was wrong, but all her prayers didn't help when the moderator sayed the name she absolutely didn't want to her: "Pinkamena 'Pinkie Pie' Diana Pie" The screen showed a known pink pony apearing in the arena. "Everypony ready? Then let's start this competition!" The first three roundsEverypony was excited, most of the normal ponies were still confused, but they were also excited. "Alright everypony, let's start with the first round!" said the moderator and suddenly the ground in the middle of the arena started to bulge. The ground cracked and a stone pillar started to rise from the crack, the pillar quickly grew bigger into a huge tower that soon was so big, that nopony could see the top of it. "The chaos has to be everywhere, even the places hard to reach. So your first task will be to 'climb' this tower. Well you don't actually have to climb it, you just have to get to top, somehow. No rules. The winner is whoever reaches the top with the most chaotic technique. Everypony understood? Alright here it comes. Ready! Set! Go!" Celestia used her wings to fly to the top of the tower. Not very creative, as the moderator states. Chaos transformed some of the ground nearby into a giant gorilla made out of dirt. He then gave himself a disguise as a beautiful blond mare. The gorilla grabbed him/her and then started to climb the tower. Discord meanwhile build a catapult and was about to shoot himself to the top, but Chaos used his magic to make one of the wheels of the catapult vanish so that Discord didn't shoot himself in direclty to the Future top of the tower but instead direclty into the tower getting him stuck inside the wall. "no rules!" Chaos said to Discord before laughing maniacally. Chaos then got distracted by a pink pony walking upward on the wall next to him. She wasn't climbing or anything, she was walking! Discord used this moment to let a huge tree grow from the side of the tower just above Chaos and his gorilla, but it wasn't just any tree, it was a banana tree. The gorilla stopped climbing the tower and instead climbed the tree to get some bananas. Surprisingly the tree was strong enough for the gigantic and heavy gorilla, at least until Discord appeared at the trunk of the with an axe in his hands, said 'no rules', and started to fell the tree. It took him only one hit and the tree broke under the weight of the gorilla sending him and Chaos back to the ground. While Discord was still standing on what's left of the tree thinking about what to do next, Chaos already recovered and angrily casted a spell on the tower turning the whole tower upside down so that the top was now down where he was, then he grabbed the tower, turned it back and was the first contestant to reach the top. Discord had an idea, he spit in his hands and grabbed the tower, ripping one giant segment out of it. He threw the segment away and the rest of the tower fell down replacing the missing part. Discord ripped another part of the tower out, and another, and another, and as he did the tower shrunk bit by bit while in the meantime Celestia and Pinkie Pie reached the top. After some time the tower was small enough that Discord could climb the rest reaching the top as the last contestant. "And the winner is..." announced the moderator, "Chaos! But the competition isn't decided yet so let's start with round number 2!" The tower disappear leaving the contestants alone in the arena. "For this challenge you have to disguise yourself! The most creative disguise wins!" Discord, Chaos and Celestia vanished. Only Pinkie Pie was left wearing a fake mustache, but she blew her disguise as she starts to laugh very hardly. "Alright looks like our contestants found their disguises, but now let's ask them where they are." Celestia appeared first, right in the arena revealing that she 'only' used an invisible spell. She also burst out laughing. The next one to reappear was Chaos, he explained that he used a vanishing spell, turning himself into nothing. He tried very hard not to laugh but he could keep himself from smiling. "Well, vanishing isn't exactly a disguise so you are disqualified." said the moderator. Chaos tried to look angry but that was very hard with a big grin on his face. But where was the last contestant? Where was Discord? Suddenly Discord appeared next to the other contestants and they stopped laughing immediately. "Alright, where have you been?" the moderator asked. "Oh I was right here," said Discord, "disguised as nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas." "I guess that explains everything... but anyway, the winner of round 2 is Discord." "But the game isn't over yet so let's start with round 3." The four contestants where lead to their position and suddenly four ponies appeared in front of them. There was a crystal pony in front of Celestia, Pinkie Pie had an earthpony and Chaos was looking at an unicorn. None of these ponies were familiar to the contestants. Only Discord had a pony in front of him, who he saw a few times before around ponyville. She was a grey pegasus with a yellow mane and yellow cross-eyed eyes, a pony called Derpy. "What is chaos exactly? It's something not normal. It's something that confuses us. And that's exactly what this round is about, confusion. Your target will be to confuse the pony in front of you as much as you can. Please notify that the winner of this round is not the contestant with the most chaotic way to reach the goal as in the other rounds, but the one who confuses his or her partner the most." While Celestia seem to had some problems with the task, the other contestants started right away. Pinkie was...just beeing Pinkie, Chaos probably used some sort of hypnosis, in fact he was only starring his victim in the eyes and Discord, well, it was hard to tell what exactly Discord was doing. It had something to do with the tail of a timber-wolf, a fruit bat, a red balloon, 14 green starfishes, a chair and 3 extra big sandwiches. But Derpy was paying no attention. She was looking at the cheering crowd of ponies. Most of them looked the same, they looked like one of the ponies next to her. She had never seen anything like that. Were they even real ponies? Were they those changelings she heard about? Maybe she was just dreaming. But then she would be able to control it since she knows it's a dream. She tried to let something appear out of nowhere to prove her theory. But what? Something she likes a lot...apples? No, it was something baked. Apple-pie? No, something without apples...Normal pie? Cake? No, it was something smaller. Muffins! Yes, that was what she was looking for, some tasty muffins! She concentrated very hard trying to let those muffins appear but it didn't work. She was confused a bit - strangely her confusion put some signs of relief on the face of the strange creature in front of here - Maybe that wasn't a dream? She looked at the crowd again. But why are they looking all the same then? Well, they didn't ALL looked the same. Some of the ponies looked different, they looked normal. Then she recognized one of the ponies. A blue pegasus with a rainbow-colored mane. A friend of her. What was her name again? Dainbow Rash? No, but something like that, Derpy was never good at keeping names. Especially when she was dreaming. It seemed to her that her friend was trying to say something to her, but she was so far away and the crowd of looking-alike-ponies were too loud so she could barely understand her. She was saying something like: 'Just, pay a song!' Whatever that's supposed to mean. But this was just a dream anyway so Derpy just started to sing. Rainbow Dash meanwhile, seeing that Discord had problems with Derpy, tried to help and screamed: "Just play along!" and hoped Derpy would understand her and played the confused pony to help Discord win. Discord by the way was making a facehoof - even though he had to give himself a hoof first - when Derpy started to sing. "Alright looks to me like our round ends here." said the moderator, "and the winner is Disco..." the moderator got interrupted by the pony Chaos confused. Chaos just finished his hypnosis and the unicorn in front of him started to jump around screaming: "I'M A BREEZY!!! A BIG BEAUTIFUL BREEZY!!!". "I guess i was deciding to early, looks like our real winner is Chaos." said the moderator, "Chaos is currently leading with two won rounds. Discord is on the second place with one won round. But the competition isn't over. There are still six rounds left and all the contestants still have chances to win. We're going to make a little break here. Giving our contestants time to recover their creativity, but be back when the competition continues and I know you will because Chaos' magic forces you to." Chaos in Ponyville"Um Rarity..." Twilight was just about to say something but got interrupted by her friend. "Just one more minute. Your dress will be finished any moment." "But I really have to go now!" Twilight said. She just wanted to pay her friend Rarity a short visit but got surprised by a new dress her friend hat been working on and scince Rarity was just about to finish the dress, Twilight had to stay until it's done. That was three hours ago and Twilight really wanted to go now. "A princess only wears the perfect dresses," said Rarity, "and perfection takes its time." "I'm sorry, Rarity, but we will have to do this another time." said Twilight while she was already walking towards the door. "Umm Twilight you might..." said Spike who was already at the door but he got interrupted by Rarity. "Alright, I guess we can finish this tomorrow." "But Twilight, you really should..." Spike tried again but this time he got interrupted by Twilight "Not now Spike, I am already late aAAAAAAAAA" that last part was because Twilight when she walked to through the door didn't set her hooves on solid ground, instead she felt headfirst towards it. "Umm Twilight," Spike said still standing inside the door, "the world is upside down." *insert My Little Pony Intro here* "My dearest, i hope you aren't hurt," said Rarity who came to the door after she heard her friend screaming. "No I guess not, but I still don't know what exactly happened." said Twilight while she looked around still dizzy from the fall. It looked like something or somepony turned Rarity's house upside down. But who or whatever did that also turned the gravity inside the house around so that none of the three inside noticed. After she flew up to the door and got Spike and Rarity out the three went to see what else was happening in Ponyville. Some other houses have been turned upside down and some others were either burried in the ground so that only the roof was visible or were floating around in the sky. It wasn't long until they met Rainbow Dash and Applejack. The two were arguing on a bridge. "Applejack," said Applejack to Rainbow Dash. "Rainbow Dash," answered Rainbow Dash. "Applejack!" "Rainbow Dash!" "APPLEJACK!!!" "RAINBOW DASH!!!" "PINKIE PIE!!!" screamed Pinkie Pie, who suddenly appeared out of nowwhere, "wait, why are we only saying our names?" "Well it looks like something goes very wrong here," said Twilight who just arrived, "And I think i know who's behind all this." "Rainbow Dash," said Rainbow Dash. "So, you're behind all this?" said Pinkie Pie before grabbing her friend and starting to shake her, "Why did you do all this? Please stop!" Rainbow Dash just rolled her eyes. "No Pinkie, it obviously was Discord, and he must've put a spell on Rainbow Dash and Applejack so that they only can say their own name. We have to go to Fluttershy. She's the only one who can calm him down and who knows maybe she already knows where he is." They all agread on going to Fluttershy and headed towards her house.

"Fluttershy?" asked Twilight, "Are you here?" "Yes, I am up here," said a very quiet voice from above. "What are you doing up there?" asked Twilight while the others entered Fluttershys house too. "Floating, I guess," said the voice "A little help please?" After Rainbow Dash brought a rock and Applejack used a rope to attach the rock to Fluttershy so she wont fly away Twilight explained whats going on in the rest of Ponyville. "Oh that sounds horrible. But what can we do about it?" asked Fluttershy Twilight. "Well we hoped you could help us there. We think Discord is behind all this." "Discord?!" said Fluttershy surprised and she was even more surprised when a trapdoor opened next to her and Discord was coming through it. "Yes, my dear Fluttershy, you called me?" said he. "I didn't know there was a trapdoor," said Fluttershy. "Discord!" screamed Twilight, "stop destroying Ponyville!" "Oh my dearest Twilight, you know how much I dislike to disappoint you but I have absolutly no clue what you're talking about." said Discord with an overly dramatic tone. "Don't try to fool us Discord, we know you are responsible for the chaos out there." "Chaos you say?", wondered Discord while looking out of the window. While he was looking into the sky the sun changed color. First the sun became green, then red before turning completly black for a moment just before turning purple and then stayed in a light blue color. "Yes, yes, whoever's responsible for this must be a true master of the chaotic arts. Who do you said is responsible?" "Well we thouhgt you are!" "Oh no, the only thing I did was sitting in Fluttershys basement where i was peacefully reading a book." "I have a basement?" wondered a totally confused Fluttershy. "Oh by the way, where's our dear friend Rarity?" asked Discord and just stired up confusion. "What do you mean she's right he..." said Twilight but she stoped when she not saw Rarity anywhere around. "I'm right here," a voice sounded out of the place Rarity standed last. "What's wrong?" said the voice after it saw the puzzled faces of her friends. Rainbow Dash flew to the place the voice was coming from and carefully poked the air with her hoof. After she hit on some sort of resistance and even got "What the hay do you think you're doing?!" as a response she turned towards her friends and just said "Rainbow Dash", and all of her friends knew: Rarity was invisible. "See?", said Discord, "you all could see now that I didn't do anything, but our friend still turned invisible. There must be someone else behind all this! Would you please believe me? After all, isn't that what friends do?" "Maybe you're right," said Twilight, "maybe somepony else is doing all this, but who?"
The ChaosBefore they started searching for whoever's responsible for the strange things happening in Ponyville the Mane 6 and Discord went to Twilights castle, which was luckily mostly intact, hoping there would be a spell to help Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rarity. It didn't take to long for them to find some spells and while Twilight prepared them, Spike and Discord searched for a book about what or who was causing the trouble. "Alright, Rainbow, Applejack, this one should help you speak again," said Twilight while she started to cast the spell. "Thanks, Twilight," said Rainbow Dash after Twilight finished. "Thank ya," said Applejack. "You're welcome, next one is Rarity." "Is she even here?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Of course I am!" answered an annoyed Rarity. "Well, sorry, but it's hard to tell if you are invisible." "But luckily she won't be for long," said Twilight as she started to cast a spell on Rarity, who was standing right next to them in the next moment. "Have you found anything about what's going on?" asked she Spike and Discord while she casted the last spell on Fluttershy. "No, nothing," answered Spike, "and Discord isn't helping very much." "Discord!" screamed Twilight angrily. "Well, excuuuuse me, princess, but it's 3 pm and time for my daily bubble bath. You can't expect me to miss on that," said Discord while he was sitting in a bathtub full of bubbles. "Uuhhh, BUBBLES!" screamed Pinkie Pie as she jumped right next to Discord in the bathtub. "Pinkie Pie! We don't have time for this, Equestria is decending into chaos right now while we are talking.", said Twilight. "But there isn't very much we can do about it," said Spike "after all we don't who's responsible for all this." "Who!" Said Owlowiscious, who was sitting at the window. "I don't know," said Spike to Owlowiscious. "No Spike, I don't think Owlowiscious was asking. I think he wanted to show us something." said Applejack as she walked toward the window where Owlowiscious was sitting. "And that something is a creepy looking pony down the street." Everypony came to the window and looked at who Owlowiscious and Applejack were pointing at. He was a unicorn and as tall as Celestia, he was dark gray with an even darker, altough not antirely black, mane. Everypony was looking at each other, could he be the one causing all this?
The Chaos IIPonyville was, and there are no other words for it, chaotik. It was hard for anypony to spot anything that looks normal. The sky had turned into some sort of checkerboard pattern with tiles made out of day sky and tiles made out of night sky and the chess figures were represented by multiple different coloured suns for the one team, and many apples in different sizes for the other. Some chuncks in the ground had been replaced by clouds and the clouds in the sky had been replaced by hay bales. The houses which were normal the last time Twilight and here friends passed them were now either in a miniature size, had invisible walls, although the furniture inside was still visible, had been turned inside out or even all three. Even the ponies running around screamed didn't look so well. Some unicorns had their horn attached to their back while some pagasi had their wings attached to their head, some ponies had their mane and tail swapped, what 'looked kinda funny' as Pinkie Pie stated and some ponies were even more deformed. "Sweet Celestia, I hope that things look better at Sweet Apple Acres," said Applejack and just as she said one of the closets attached to the wall of one of the 'inside out'-houses oppened and the group could barely make out some apple trees, ecept that these trees grew anything but apples, before a green Big Mac put his head out of the closet said 'nope' and disappeared again just before the closed turned into a bush. As the 6 ponies came closer to the mysterious strager they got more and more certain, that the pony in front of them was the reason behind all the strange things that keep happening. Not only was he the only pony who didn't totally freak out but also had he an aura which gave everypony who got close to him the creeps. Discord on the other hand felt a peaceful calmness as he came closer to the stranger. "Are you..." started Twilight when they were close enough to the misterious pony but she had to stop because when the stranger turned towards them and looked her in the eyes after he heard her speaking, she felt a sharp bolt of dark energy running through her body. "Yes? Am i what?" asked the stranger. Twilight had to take a deep breath before she could speak again. "Are you the one who's destroying Ponyville?" "Well, if you ask me this so direclty," he made a break before continuing, "no, I'm not destroying anything. I'm shaping this land into something more fitting for my desires. After all, it's the reign of chaos now, that's me by the way, I'm chaos, and the chaos deserves to have kingdom, which fits his name right?" "As if we haven't heard that before," mumbled Discord thinking that this pony is only copying him. "So you are responsible for all this?" asked Twilight then she added: "And what do you mean by you're chaos?" "Yes, you could say if you put it that way, but I'm thinking just saying that I am responsible somehow misses the dramatic effect," said Chaos in a far less dramatic voice then he did before, "oh, and regarding your second question, you see, I am the manifestation of the chaos itself, I am everthing that is not odered and arranged, I am everything that is different, I am the voice in your head telling you to escape the daily life and try out something new. But you can call me 'The Manifestation Of Chaos And The Voice In Our Head Telling Us To Escape The Daily Life'." "Uh, I know that voice," said Pinkie Pie, "but it doesn't sound anything like you..." "I guess I will just call you Chaos," said Twilight ignoring Pinkie Pies comment. Chaos just sighed. Twilight found it very difficult to talk to Chaos. She didn't expect him to admit that he was the evil one so fast and his suppressing aura didn't help her either. Somehow she knew that his powers are far greater than hers. So it was Discord who was the first one to confront Chaos. "What were you thinking coming here and ruining the village of my friends?!" asked he. "What do you think talking sof disrespectful to me, your new emperor?" "As if you're my emperor. If you really think that way, I'm afraid I have to take you out!" "Bring it on!" Just as the two were about to fight, Twilight hold Discord back. "Discord, I don't think this is such a good idea. He looks very powerful," said she. "Oh don't worry my friend, I'm sure I can handle this," replied Discord. "I'm not worried about you loosing, Discord, I am worried about Ponyville. A fight between you two would destroy the whole village! There must be another way!" "Well, indeed there is," said Chaos who to the two, "You see, my only intention is to bring chaos to all of Equestria. If you can prove me that you are better then me at this, I will leave the stage to you." Twilight looked towards her friends. She didn't have to say anything, they knew what she was concerned about. "If we don't even have to fight him this will be totally easy," said Rainbow Dash. "Ah don't think it'll be that easy Rainbow," said Applejack, "We had to prove that we're more chaotic than the Chaos." But before they could decide whether to take on the challenge or not, Discord interrupted the decision by turning to Chaos and saying: "I accept your challenge!" Very well," said Chaos, "then it's settled. A competition about whoever is the most chaotic. The winner gets to rule over Equestria. But we will do this tomorrow. I give you some time to prepare, use it well." After he said this, he walked away. "Discord, what the hay are you doing?" asked Twilight. "I'm saving Equestria," said Discord with a for him unusual seriousness.
PreparationsThe first thing to do now that Chaos stopped for now was to get everypony safe. Since most of Ponyville was destroyed the only safe place was Twilights castle. Luckily it was big enough for everypony. Once everypony was safe the Mane 6 started to prepare Discord for the competition. Rainbow was wearing her best coach outfit and was making her propably best coach performance. "So team, uhm, Discord, you may think you're ready for this this, don't you? Well, you AREN'T! This is not just any game, this is the most important game in your life. It is about the fate of all of Equestria! Do you understand me?" "Yes, sir, I mean, yes ma'am!" "Alright, show me the best you've got!" Discord took a deep breath before he threw a bowling ball on the ground ground, the ball bounced back and turned into a full moon, then there was an explosion, a penguin, a crystal pony, in the next moment the whole room was filled with ice cream and popcorn, then everything went back to normal except for Discord who was split up in 50 miniature Discords, they ran around and after a while they all jumped into each other and fused back into the normal Discord. "Hmm," said Rainbow Dash, "do you think that this can beat Chaos?" "...Maybe..." answered Discord. "Well, I think it cannot! You call yourself a dragonequus? I've seen ponies doing more chaotic things than this! And they weren't even unicorns, they had no magic at all! Speaking of which, where is Pinkie Pie anyway?" Discord answered by shrugging his shoulders. "Umm, Rainbow Dash," Fluttershy interrupted the training, "maybe you shouldn't be so mean to Discord. That is very bad for his self-confidence, and after all that's the most important thing." "What!?" was the only thing Rainbow Dash could say about this. "I'm...just suggesting..." "Look, I'm sorry, but you simple cannot compete with 'The Chaos' just with self-confidence. I mean, just thinking everything will go well won't help us this time." While the two were talking Discord decide to take a brake, he was at Fluttershys home - he could call it house anymore - and the sky-chess-game was about to come to an end, which could only mean that it would be night soon, at least he thought that, when Twilight found him. "Hey," said she. "Hey..." answered he. "Are you nervous because of the competition tomorrow?" "No, it's just...He kinda reminds me of myself, you know, before i found...friends." They looked each other in the eyes. Twilight could understand how Discord felt, there was a time she had no friends too. And now he's fighting for them against an enemy he maybe not be able to defeat. "Well, now you have friends," said Twilight, "friends who are willing to help you in this." Discord just noded, then Twilight said: "Together we can beat Chaos!"
The CompetitionTwilight woke up early this morning. It was a beautiful sunrise. Wait, a normal sunrise? Twilight was surprised at first, she expected anything but a normal sunrise. She walked out of her castle to find out that most of Ponyville turned back to normal except for a giant building definitely hadn't been there before. Before Twilight could inspect the new building she saw Chaos and decided to talk to him first. "Chaos, did you turned everything back to normal?" "Yes, of course. Who else would be able to do this?" "That's great to hear, but I don't really understand why you changed your mind so fast." "I didn't. Turning this town back to normal is part of MY preparations after all you can't make a qualified decision if you have to compare someponys work to my masterpiece from yesterday. Wait, let me show you something." Chaos then teleported them into a huge stadium, which probably was the big building from before. "Impressive, isn't it," said Chaos, "but now let's fill it." Chaos casted a spell and suddenly many many ponies appeared, it looked like Chaos brought everypony living in Equestria here. Many of the ponys were still sleeping and the others were confused about the sudden change of location. By the look of some of the ponys Twilight could tell that Chaos only changed Ponyville back to normal. The stadium was so big, that even though so many ponys were there, more then half of the seats weren't taken. Twilight was teleported to a special stand, her friends right next to her. She tried to spot the other princess and thought she found them on the other side, but she wasn't sure, since the stadium was so big that they were to far away. Chaos casted another spells and the untaken places were suddenly filled with cheering ponys looking just like Chaos, they were just a bit smaler then he is. Some of them were even walking around giving varius snacks and drinks to the normal ponys. Chaos casted a last spell and a giant flying screen appeared above the stadium big enough for even the ponys in the very last line to see it clearly. On the screen was another Chaos-like pony with a microphone. "Attention everypony!" said the pony on the screen "Welcome to the Chaos-Competition, i will be your moderator." Everypony was now silently watching the screen. "The rules are simple: The competition consist of 9 rounds. Each round has a special target to fulfill. The contestant who causes the most chaos while fulfilling the target wins the round. Whoever wins the most rounds wins the competition and gets the grand prize: The rulership of Equestria!" The normal ponys gave out a collective *gasp*. "And now, let's welcome the contestants in the arena: Our first contestant is here do defend here title as the ruler of Equestria: Princess Celestia!" The screen showed Celestia appearing in the arena. She looked very confused and stressed and it was easy to tell that she didn't catched any sleep. "Now our second contestant and the favourit in this competition, the manifestation of the chaos itself: Chaos!" The screen switched to an image of Chaos standing proudly in the arena. All of the Chaosponys in the crowd cheered even louder. "And here comes the challenger, a so called creature of chaos: Discord The Dragonequus." Discord appeared still wearing a pyjama and sleeping on the ground, sucking on his tumb. He woke up and was very surprised to found himself inside a huge stadium. It took him less then a second to let his pyjama disappear and pose in front of the camera. "Normally that would have been all contestants," said the moderator, then he added mumbling, "well, we don't do this very often, in fact this is the first time, so we can't actually say something like 'normally'" he spoke the rest with his normal morderation tone, "but this time we have a fourth contestant. A pony who aproached me yesterday and asked me weather she can participate in this or not:" Twilight got a vague suspicion of who the moderator could be talking about, and she prayed that she was wrong, but all her prayers didn't help when the moderator sayed the name she absolutely didn't want to her: "Pinkamena 'Pinkie Pie' Diana Pie" The screen showed a known pink pony apearing in the arena. "Everypony ready? Then let's start this competition!"
The first three roundsEverypony was excited, most of the normal ponies were still confused, but they were also excited. "Alright everypony, let's start with the first round!" said the moderator and suddenly the ground in the middle of the arena started to bulge. The ground cracked and a stone pillar started to rise from the crack, the pillar quickly grew bigger into a huge tower that soon was so big, that nopony could see the top of it. "The chaos has to be everywhere, even the places hard to reach. So your first task will be to 'climb' this tower. Well you don't actually have to climb it, you just have to get to top, somehow. No rules. The winner is whoever reaches the top with the most chaotic technique. Everypony understood? Alright here it comes. Ready! Set! Go!" Celestia used her wings to fly to the top of the tower. Not very creative, as the moderator states. Chaos transformed some of the ground nearby into a giant gorilla made out of dirt. He then gave himself a disguise as a beautiful blond mare. The gorilla grabbed him/her and then started to climb the tower. Discord meanwhile build a catapult and was about to shoot himself to the top, but Chaos used his magic to make one of the wheels of the catapult vanish so that Discord didn't shoot himself in direclty to the Future top of the tower but instead direclty into the tower getting him stuck inside the wall. "no rules!" Chaos said to Discord before laughing maniacally. Chaos then got distracted by a pink pony walking upward on the wall next to him. She wasn't climbing or anything, she was walking! Discord used this moment to let a huge tree grow from the side of the tower just above Chaos and his gorilla, but it wasn't just any tree, it was a banana tree. The gorilla stopped climbing the tower and instead climbed the tree to get some bananas. Surprisingly the tree was strong enough for the gigantic and heavy gorilla, at least until Discord appeared at the trunk of the with an axe in his hands, said 'no rules', and started to fell the tree. It took him only one hit and the tree broke under the weight of the gorilla sending him and Chaos back to the ground. While Discord was still standing on what's left of the tree thinking about what to do next, Chaos already recovered and angrily casted a spell on the tower turning the whole tower upside down so that the top was now down where he was, then he grabbed the tower, turned it back and was the first contestant to reach the top. Discord had an idea, he spit in his hands and grabbed the tower, ripping one giant segment out of it. He threw the segment away and the rest of the tower fell down replacing the missing part. Discord ripped another part of the tower out, and another, and another, and as he did the tower shrunk bit by bit while in the meantime Celestia and Pinkie Pie reached the top. After some time the tower was small enough that Discord could climb the rest reaching the top as the last contestant. "And the winner is..." announced the moderator, "Chaos! But the competition isn't decided yet so let's start with round number 2!" The tower disappear leaving the contestants alone in the arena. "For this challenge you have to disguise yourself! The most creative disguise wins!" Discord, Chaos and Celestia vanished. Only Pinkie Pie was left wearing a fake mustache, but she blew her disguise as she starts to laugh very hardly. "Alright looks like our contestants found their disguises, but now let's ask them where they are." Celestia appeared first, right in the arena revealing that she 'only' used an invisible spell. She also burst out laughing. The next one to reappear was Chaos, he explained that he used a vanishing spell, turning himself into nothing. He tried very hard not to laugh but he could keep himself from smiling. "Well, vanishing isn't exactly a disguise so you are disqualified." said the moderator. Chaos tried to look angry but that was very hard with a big grin on his face. But where was the last contestant? Where was Discord? Suddenly Discord appeared next to the other contestants and they stopped laughing immediately. "Alright, where have you been?" the moderator asked. "Oh I was right here," said Discord, "disguised as nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas." "I guess that explains everything... but anyway, the winner of round 2 is Discord." "But the game isn't over yet so let's start with round 3." The four contestants where lead to their position and suddenly four ponies appeared in front of them. There was a crystal pony in front of Celestia, Pinkie Pie had an earthpony and Chaos was looking at an unicorn. None of these ponies were familiar to the contestants. Only Discord had a pony in front of him, who he saw a few times before around ponyville. She was a grey pegasus with a yellow mane and yellow cross-eyed eyes, a pony called Derpy. "What is chaos exactly? It's something not normal. It's something that confuses us. And that's exactly what this round is about, confusion. Your target will be to confuse the pony in front of you as much as you can. Please notify that the winner of this round is not the contestant with the most chaotic way to reach the goal as in the other rounds, but the one who confuses his or her partner the most." While Celestia seem to had some problems with the task, the other contestants started right away. Pinkie was...just beeing Pinkie, Chaos probably used some sort of hypnosis, in fact he was only starring his victim in the eyes and Discord, well, it was hard to tell what exactly Discord was doing. It had something to do with the tail of a timber-wolf, a fruit bat, a red balloon, 14 green starfishes, a chair and 3 extra big sandwiches. But Derpy was paying no attention. She was looking at the cheering crowd of ponies. Most of them looked the same, they looked like one of the ponies next to her. She had never seen anything like that. Were they even real ponies? Were they those changelings she heard about? Maybe she was just dreaming. But then she would be able to control it since she knows it's a dream. She tried to let something appear out of nowhere to prove her theory. But what? Something she likes a lot...apples? No, it was something baked. Apple-pie? No, something without apples...Normal pie? Cake? No, it was something smaller. Muffins! Yes, that was what she was looking for, some tasty muffins! She concentrated very hard trying to let those muffins appear but it didn't work. She was confused a bit - strangely her confusion put some signs of relief on the face of the strange creature in front of here - Maybe that wasn't a dream? She looked at the crowd again. But why are they looking all the same then? Well, they didn't ALL looked the same. Some of the ponies looked different, they looked normal. Then she recognized one of the ponies. A blue pegasus with a rainbow-colored mane. A friend of her. What was her name again? Dainbow Rash? No, but something like that, Derpy was never good at keeping names. Especially when she was dreaming. It seemed to her that her friend was trying to say something to her, but she was so far away and the crowd of looking-alike-ponies were too loud so she could barely understand her. She was saying something like: 'Just, pay a song!' Whatever that's supposed to mean. But this was just a dream anyway so Derpy just started to sing. Rainbow Dash meanwhile, seeing that Discord had problems with Derpy, tried to help and screamed: "Just play along!" and hoped Derpy would understand her and played the confused pony to help Discord win. Discord by the way was making a facehoof - even though he had to give himself a hoof first - when Derpy started to sing. "Alright looks to me like our round ends here." said the moderator, "and the winner is Disco..." the moderator got interrupted by the pony Chaos confused. Chaos just finished his hypnosis and the unicorn in front of him started to jump around screaming: "I'M A BREEZY!!! A BIG BEAUTIFUL BREEZY!!!". "I guess i was deciding to early, looks like our real winner is Chaos." said the moderator, "Chaos is currently leading with two won rounds. Discord is on the second place with one won round. But the competition isn't over. There are still six rounds left and all the contestants still have chances to win. We're going to make a little break here. Giving our contestants time to recover their creativity, but be back when the competition continues and I know you will because Chaos' magic forces you to."
Chaos in Ponyville"Um Rarity..." Twilight was just about to say something but got interrupted by her friend. "Just one more minute. Your dress will be finished any moment." "But I really have to go now!" Twilight said. She just wanted to pay her friend Rarity a short visit but got surprised by a new dress her friend hat been working on and scince Rarity was just about to finish the dress, Twilight had to stay until it's done. That was three hours ago and Twilight really wanted to go now. "A princess only wears the perfect dresses," said Rarity, "and perfection takes its time." "I'm sorry, Rarity, but we will have to do this another time." said Twilight while she was already walking towards the door. "Umm Twilight you might..." said Spike who was already at the door but he got interrupted by Rarity. "Alright, I guess we can finish this tomorrow." "But Twilight, you really should..." Spike tried again but this time he got interrupted by Twilight "Not now Spike, I am already late aAAAAAAAAA" that last part was because Twilight when she walked to through the door didn't set her hooves on solid ground, instead she felt headfirst towards it. "Umm Twilight," Spike said still standing inside the door, "the world is upside down." *insert My Little Pony Intro here* "My dearest, i hope you aren't hurt," said Rarity who came to the door after she heard her friend screaming. "No I guess not, but I still don't know what exactly happened." said Twilight while she looked around still dizzy from the fall. It looked like something or somepony turned Rarity's house upside down. But who or whatever did that also turned the gravity inside the house around so that none of the three inside noticed. After she flew up to the door and got Spike and Rarity out the three went to see what else was happening in Ponyville. Some other houses have been turned upside down and some others were either burried in the ground so that only the roof was visible or were floating around in the sky. It wasn't long until they met Rainbow Dash and Applejack. The two were arguing on a bridge. "Applejack," said Applejack to Rainbow Dash. "Rainbow Dash," answered Rainbow Dash. "Applejack!" "Rainbow Dash!" "APPLEJACK!!!" "RAINBOW DASH!!!" "PINKIE PIE!!!" screamed Pinkie Pie, who suddenly appeared out of nowwhere, "wait, why are we only saying our names?" "Well it looks like something goes very wrong here," said Twilight who just arrived, "And I think i know who's behind all this." "Rainbow Dash," said Rainbow Dash. "So, you're behind all this?" said Pinkie Pie before grabbing her friend and starting to shake her, "Why did you do all this? Please stop!" Rainbow Dash just rolled her eyes. "No Pinkie, it obviously was Discord, and he must've put a spell on Rainbow Dash and Applejack so that they only can say their own name. We have to go to Fluttershy. She's the only one who can calm him down and who knows maybe she already knows where he is." They all agread on going to Fluttershy and headed towards her house.
