The Toreador March
II. A Revelation of the Different Kind... (Part I.)
Previous ChapterI woke up like any other teen on a school day, mildly annoyed and tired as all hell. However, unlike most teens, I was left with questions, questions about this damn mystery. As I got up to do my morning routine, I pondered on the scene I had observed last night. From what I gathered, I was in this old restaurant just a day before it opened. I didn't see anything that could be supernatural, just a man with a pink mustache. For some reason, the manager and assistant kept referring to, what I suppose was the animatronics, in strange ways, like 'fourth wheel' and such.
Then there was this whole "guy who sold the creative rights" deal or some shit. I'm still not entirely sure if it's important or not, but I am sure that it could be a possible inclusion as... evidence? Still not sure what to call it, since I'm technically investigating some random urban legend from years ago. You know what, I think I'll call the flashback memories "flashes", not exactly the best nickname, but it's good enough.
A loud knock came from my apartment door, a knock that signified Mr. Schmidt, or, as I called him after the first week I moved into this apartment, overbearing Ojīchan (grandpa). "IN A MINUTE!" I shouted hastily, running to the bathroom to freshen up after my dazed sleep. I was about done gargling my mouthwash when I heard the familiar *click* of my door. 'this old bastard right here...' I chuckled mentally as I exited the bathroom, only to see the old fogie in my living room.
"Do you usually leave your place this messy, you damn retard." Mr. Schmidt chastised as he held up a greasy pizza box.
"I only have that because I was doing a study session and I was hungry." I half-lied. I did get hungry and order a vegetarian white pizza with chicken topping (fight the menu!), but my 'study session' was trying to find out about that restaurant chain via the internet. To sum up the results, zilch, nada, and nothing.
"Uh huh." Mr. Schmidt snorted, "I'm only believing that crock of shit because you're Asian, so be glad I am willing to compromise my intelligence for your secrets, Bruce Lee." he then chuckled. Mr. Schmidt was never one to be truly racist, only racist in a friendly way if that makes sense. It's like that one friend of yours who will make a racist joke towards you, but you don't mind because you know they ain't no hating motherfuckers. "Seriously kid, what exactly are you getting into."
"What are you saying Mr. Schmidt?" I asked while getting out some fresh clothes to wear.
"You haven't been the same since that last week of summer, you looked like you saw a damn ghost that Friday."
"...It was nothing Mr. Schmidt, just ate some bad park food."
"Ugh, listen Cracker Jap, I've had a Tweaker for a son and a daughter with multiple illegitimate children she left on her partner's doorstep. I know teens keep secrets pretty well, even from an old shit like myself. All I'm saying is that if you need to talk about whatever stick is up your ass, I'll gladly hear you out in your Korean language."
"I'm sorry, I stopped listening after you said something about illegitimate children."
"Yeah, got worried about it when she told me, couldn't find them, for all I know they were sold for spare car parts, it was back in Dallas after all." When he mentioned Dallas, something just clicked. I instantly remembered the manager saying that there was a small joint in Dallas that they bought some creative rights from. I had to take this chance, even if he is a grumpy old man, he had to have known something.
"Mr. Schmidt, do you know anything about a restaurant in Dallas with a bear as a mascot." I looked hopefully at Mr. Schmidt, only to see him looking down at my dark magenta carpet in a serious gaze. "Mr. Schmidt?" He turned his head sharply at me, holding a sharp and terrifying look.
"Can't say I have Daikon... now get dressed and fuck off to school." Mr. Schmidt then went and exited my front door. As expected, I was confused by the sudden bitter emotion that came from him after my question. He clearly knew I was hiding something from him, and now I currently know he has something to hide from me. I couldn't harbor on it any longer and got dressed for school.
Canterlot High
I'm convinced people here only look at each other for communication, then using actual words. Today I got a lot of stares, and I'll go through each one of them, it's not like you guys are interested in my paranormal investigation.
I'll start off with the two girls that I had previously seen staring at Twilight Sparkle yesterday. They still kept themselves occupied with Twilight's lovely purple bun hair, but now they occasionally glanced at me. It may just be me, but I feel like those two girls have some form of motive for observing us they way they are.
The most confusing stare came from a cute girl in gym class today. I was just minding my business, staring at the rainbow haired girl's assets, until I felt a very close presence near my back. Due to some past experiences I'd rather not talk about, I turned around as fast as lightning, not to see a hulking figure, but a shorter girl. She had light yellow skin and bright pink hair, but I was a little more distracted by her gym uniform.
Canterlot High's gym uniforms are all standard issue stuff, white shirts and color-coated pants. This girl, who was very close to my back for reasons I don't know of, had very nice features, and the gym clothes highlighted every curve. She let out a small "Eep!" and backed away far, but I didn't question her, probably break down if I questioned her.
The last stare was probably the most uncomfortable and hateful, and the worst part, it was done by a dude, ugh. I was putting away my books from my last class and was hoping to bump into Twilight as I made my way to lunch. Unfortunately, I felt the ever-so-familiar feeling of eyes at the back of my skull. I slowly looked behind me, only to find, instead of a chick, a guy with a scrunched up, angry face. He had a pale-yellowish hue on his skin and dark blue hair. I guess the guy was a rocker of some kind due to his style of clothing, a leather jacket and jeans. I made sure to keep my look away from the guy as much as possible and then went off to lunch.
Now we're currently where I am now, slowly walking in the halls to get some munchies. I felt like this school may have some strange things going on, just like Twilight said. I honestly couldn't keep my mind off of the purple nerd, she just seems to take most of my attention. Lucky for me, my mother isn't here, or else I would be berated to keep my grades up. The whole day I was itching to just converse with her, but she's so straightforward in her schedule. As soon as one of our classes end; she bolts right to her next one. I can't believe I'm even saying this, but she might be more focused on school than an Asian.
Actually, now that I think about it, Twilight definitely does better in our two classes together than I probably do. Granted, these classes aren't entirely too difficult for now, but every time she's called to answer a question, she gets it right automatically. The only subject I could probably take pride in knowing I do better in than Twilight is in gym class. I had to try so hard to sustain my chuckles at Twilight's attempt at doing a pull up. Although, I did get to admire her "courage" while she was focusing on her pull up.
As I kept thinking of her "courage", I walked past the music room, or, I would have if not for noticing my undone shoelace. I knelt down to re-tie it and stood back up, only to have my vision blurred in the color black. I was pulled to my right, most likely in the music room, and was held in an impressive hold. Whoever it was that was holding me back must have had the strength of ten men... or woman, can't discriminate. I was forced down into a chair and then felt someone tie my legs down on the stools of the chairs. This person also did the same thing to my wrists, effectively making me bound to a chair with a black bag over my face, oh cop shows, I hope you are truly wrong about what's about to happen.
Footsteps, whispers, the occasional cough or two, these were the only noises I heard for what felt like a good five minutes. Now, I could shout out for help like any sane person would, but I'm a snarky shit, so I decided to talk some smack.
"Ugh, a black bag, could you be anymore Goth or Emo?" I said, practically hearing the eyebrows raise from my remark. "Actually, what is the difference between a Goth and an Emo, I heard one thinks the world is dark while the other thinks they themselves are dark, I'm sure you lot know don't ya? C'mon, this has to be some stupid blood ritual or something, every school has those stupid Satanist groups that take an unsuspecting moron and makes them into their little clique. Now, if I could get the entrance fee and weekly payments, I would be most grat-"
The bag was ripped from my face and my eyes immediately adjusted to the light in the music room. I saw the six figures who tied me down to this very uncomfortable wooden chair, and saw that they... were pretty attractive girls. Three of them I met before, Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, and the cute girl from gym period was there. The other three faces were completely new to me.
One had orange skin with white freckles and a Stetson hat that laid on her blonde hair, which was wrapped up in a ponytail. Her emerald green eyes, were staring deep into me, trying to pry whatever it could about me.
Another had pale white skin with purple hair that curled a little at the end. Her blue eyes looked at me with a hint of perplexity, why a hint? because it makes me sound fancier than just saying she looked at me.
The last one particularly scared me, considering she looked at me like a mad woman. She was pink, 'nough said, she had pink skin, hair, everything! Well, except her eyes, they were baby blue, but they had the look of insanity.
I kept looking at my supposed captors, watching their ever sightful eyes, and then, like a tip of a hat, I let it slip.
"What a twist."
