It was a dark night in the Everfree forest all was quiet except for the occasional howls of the timberwolves that lived inside. The only sound that was audible among the silence were hoofsteps trekking through the mud. Two figures were making their way through the hell like forest.
If you were close enough you could see they had nasty wounds on their sides. One was a changeling that walked with his pride high even with the wounds he had. His left eye had a scar over it with a three pronged claw mark. Another thing that was noticeable is he had a cutie mark of a sword covered with a spiraling green flame.
His partner on the other hoof who he was carrying was a black alicorn with a gray mane and tale that were ruffled due to the fight from earlier. His cutie mark was a dark red skull with ram like horns with no bottom jaw. He was out cold due to being knocked out by a hydra while ago and having to be rescued by his friend.
The changeling sighed "damn it Shade one of these days your ass is gonna get a good beating and I wont be able to help"
Shade started to regain consciousness as he did he could hear his friend. He knew how much he cared about his safety they were best friends for quite a while. He decided to get off and walk on his own.
"You know Dex once we find a town I will buy you some booze and a mare to bed will that satisfy your whiny ass"?
Dex chuckled "only if I get the really expensive stuff but you can have the mare".
Dex burst out laughing after that he knew that would make Shade uncomfortable and he knew why. Shade was a virgin and Dex would use the mention of mares and sex just to mess with him. Shade however would always get back at him just by scaring him as a matter of fact Shade just loves scaring ponies whenever he gets the chance.
As they continued their walk they could see an opening up ahead. Dex and Shade trotted towards the exit as they left the forest they saw the wide night sky. However as they stared at the sky somepony was staring frightfully from afar in her cottage.
Fluttershy was having a peaceful day nothing was going wrong, there was no disasters over the horizon, and most importantly she was having quality time with her animals. She was about to head outside to feed her chickens she saw two figures burst out of the Everfree forest.
She reacted the way she always did and immediately hid behind her door. She looked out the window to see the two figures. One was a changeling with a claw scar over his left eye but what caught her attention was the mark on his flank.
'That is strange changelings cant get cutie marks can they'? She thought to herself she didn't know a whole lot about changelings she only knew the basic stuff because of the wedding. Fluttershy then looked at the other figure only to stare in both surprise and fear. Next to the changeling was a black alicorn who stood a bit taller than the changeling. His dark orange eyes stared at the night sky as he stood next to his companion Fluttershy was a bit scared at his appearance. As she stared at them she began looking into the alicorn's eyes she began to feel his emotions.
Pain, hate, sadness, misery, but also love. There was a hint a happiness that felt like it died long ago before she could ponder the thought further she began to hear them talking.
"Hey Shade you think if we follow this trail we might find some civilization?" Dex asked he didn't want to be any closer to the forest than he needed. Shade looked at the path it seemed to lead to a town in the distance he thought about it for a minute. He looked in his bag to see how many bits were left they still had 5,000 which could be enough for a room and food.
Shade sighed and said "we got enough bits to last us for a while lets go and see what this place has to offer us". Dex was happy that they were out of that hellish forest and were finally having some good luck.
"Oh! and Dex don't think I'm not gonna get you back for that 'comment' you made back there" Shade said with evil grin on his face. Dex gulped and continued walking now he was sure he was gonna have a jump scare in the morning.
Fluttershy was scared not just for herself but also her friends and all the other ponies. She couldn't really tell but something was off about the two strangers especially the alicorn. She had to get to town and tell her friends before they did anything that could destroy the town.
"Oh dear! Oh dear! Oh dear! this could be bad really bad I have to find Twilight and the others!" She raced to Ponyvile in speeds that made Rainbow Dash seem slow.
(Twilight POV)
Twilight was busy with reading a new book she got with a delivery of books brought from the Canterlot Ancient archive. She was really into the book as it was describing somethings called the Dark Elements which were like the Elements of Harmony but much more powerful and dark. She was very enticed in the book until frantic knocking was heard.
She opened the the door with her magic as she did she saw a terrified Fluttershy "Oh my Fluttershy are you OK you look scared half to death."
Fluttershy walked in and took deep breaths when she calmed down she began to speak "Twilight we need to find the others quick there is a changeling and black scary alicorn coming to Ponyville."
"What!?! were are they and how long until they get here?" Twilight asked she wasn't sure how to react to this. She thought that the changelings had been beaten. This was bad if the changelings were going to attack Ponyville with the help of alicorn they wouldn't stand a chance.
"I saw them walking down the trail from my house it wont be long until they get to the town." she said Twilight began to calm down and paced back and forth trying to think of the next course of action.
"Alright Fluttershy listen you go and get the others and I will send a letter to the princess and hopefully she can get here in time." Fluttershy nodded and bolted out the door to find their friends.
"Spike get down here quick I need to send the princess an urgent lette." a purple baby dragon made his way down the stairs with a quill and paper. He was going to ask the unicorn why she was so frantic but that look she had told him not to question her. He began to write down the urgent message and sent it to Celestia Twilight just hoped it got to her before it was to late.
Never Call the Princess a Bitch
Screaming, screaming was all that could be heard throughout the rusted and decaying halls. The screams belonged to many of those unfortunate enough to be there against their will and some were silenced soon after. At the center of the torture a tall being stood over an unlucky stallion who was strapped to an old operating table. The creature was tall as it stood on two long legs with long arms and claws it had the head of unicorn with it's gross, sadistic smile revealing its sharp, jagged teeth.
The creature looked to be enjoying himself with the pain he was inflicting on the pathetic stallion as he moaned and begged for death. He was severely mutilated and somehow managed to stay alive but the pain was to much he just wanted to die already.
The creature began to speak to him "you can make all this pain go away all you have to do is tell me where they are you will die quick and painless"
The stallion looked at the creature and decided he had enough "alright fine i'll tell you they went north east from here straight to the forest now please just end this please!!!"
The creature laughed at the stallion's weakness he knew it would be easy to break the poor fool his first trick was to kill his family but it only made him less cooperative. So he then went to mutilation and the stallion's will soon crumbled and enjoyed taking his time. Now that he had all he needed he decided he was finished with him and chose to 'tie up lose ends' he looked at the stallion and put his clawed hand on his head and quickly ripped it off with the spine connected. He held it over his mouth so he could drink the blood and any hanging flesh.
He now knew were his 'friends' went and started planning on hunting them down once they were out of the way he could finally kill that damned whore who sealed him away thousands of years ago. "Soon Celestia I will have my revenge on both you and that colt that has been a thorn in my side." he said to himself as he walked out of the room with his new snack inside.
Shade stirred in his bed it was almost impossible to get any sleep it wasn't that they were in a new town or the fact he had to scare the inn keeper just let Dex inside the inn. No it was the bed it self it was way to comfortable for him he was used to sleeping in dumpsters, sewers, and even on the streets on some occasions. The one thing that he wasn't used to was a nice, soft bed him and Dex were surprised how cheap the inn room the price for the room was ten a month which was probably the cheapest room they ever had.
The room itself was pretty decent it had four bed rooms, three baths, and probably one of the greatest kitchens he had ever seen. The living and dinning areas were of quality size as well Shade thought this room would cost a lot more but he wasn't complaining. Shade decided to go ahead and make some breakfast it was five in the morning and decided that sleep was not an option. He was in the mood for some bacon eggs ponies would think him weird or gross because he liked meat but honestly he really didn't give a shit.
As he was cooking Dex woke up to the smell of food and walked out of his towards the kitchen he sat down as Shade put a plate in front of him.
He started to eat as he tried to break the silence in the room "so Shade what jobs are you looking for while staying here in this little town cause the ponies here obviously don't like me."
"Dex I wouldn't worry about it mainly because of how we were treated like that everywhere we went and I might just be mercenary like at the place we stayed at last time." Shade was trying to make his friend feel not shunned it was like this wherever they went ponies hating him just because he was changeling. It was something that personally bothered Shade. He knew how Dex felt he was treated the same way before the 'incident' he only told Dex about it and no one else he didn't need to be seen anymore of a monster than he already was. Dex may have treated bad but it was nothing compared to what shade went through he only had two ponies that loved him and they were gone.
Dex saw his friend and sighed "I know what you're thinking Shade but it wasn't your fault you had no control over what happened to them you need to start to let go and look forward." Dex wasn't having any luck at cheering his friend up in fact he might have made it worse. Dex was going to say something else when someone was pounding on the door Dex opened it only for four spears to be pointed at him.
Dex saw that there was four royal guards giving him cold glares. "Uh Shade we got guests and not friendly ones" Shade came from the kitchen and saw the guards.
"Whatever it is I didn't do it" Dex just gave him a look that said 'really".
Dex looked back to the guards "How can I help you fine gents today" he said with a smile trying to be polite as possible but the guards did not return the kindness.
"Be quiet bug you and your friend are coming with us!!" one of them said with much hate in his voice.
Shade stepped in front of Dex in a defensive stance "and just why should we listen to you" Shade with the same amount hate. He got a good look at the guard he was a white unicorn with a blue mane and tail and his cutie mark was a shield with a pink star in the middle.
The unicorn looked at Shade and he had to admit he was a little intimidating but regardless he had job to do "I am Shinning Armor captain of the royal guard and I've been ordered to bring you an the changeling to Canterlot by Princess Celestia."
Shade just sighed and looked to Dex and back Shinning "I don't give a damn about your name and what stupid rank you are I asked why the hell should we listen to an ass hat that is arresting us for no damn reason." All the guards were speechless and some had to hold back some of their laughter because no pony had ever said that to the captain.
Shinning was losing his patience "I am giving you one chance to cooperate peacefully now come wit us or we will drag you to Canterlot." After he said that Shade had enough and wanted these guards gone he noticed the floor board he was standing on was loose. He got an evil idea he looked to see the board was right under Shinning Armor.
Shade looked back at the captain and said "does this answer your question" after he said that he slammed his front hoof on the board which made fling up on the other side striking Shinning right in the crouch. The captain of the guard eyes popped wide open as he fell to ground screaming meanwhile Dex was laughing his ass off at what his friend did.
"HAHAHA that showed you huh soldier boy?" Dex said after calming down and started to breathe. Shade smirked at his work he loved using the element of surprise the other guards looked dumbfounded Shinning Armor ,one of their best soldiers was beat by hit to the junk.
Shade decided to take this outside so he teleported everyone out in the town the moons position in the sky told Shade that it was around 12:30 he looked back to the guards Shinning was getting back to his hooves and looked furiously at Shade. "Do you give up oh great captain of the guard" Shade said mockingly. Shinning was getting fed up with the alicorn's antics why was this alicorn defending the changeling? What reason did he have to defend that annoying insect? Regardless he had a mission to complete and the princess herself would arrive soon after she was done with some meeting with a griffon ambassador.
As Shinning rose to his to his hooves he looked at the sky to see a royal carriage in the distance and getting closer. He smiled the princess was coming and she could help with this problem he looked back to the alicorn as he slowly approached him. He put up his signature magic shield around him and his soldiers he smirked thinking his opponent couldn't get passed it.
Shade was laughing on the inside 'A mediocre shield spell why am I not surprised' he thought bitterly as he got closer to the shield. Once he made it to the shield he saw the captain's smug look he then put his hoof on the shield as he did the shield turned black and shattered. The royal guards were speechless at what had happened Shinning armor showing more shock than all the rest.
Before anypony could do anything Shade's horn glowed a black & white aura and a massive pulse shot out sending all the guards except for Shinning 20 to 30 ft away. Shinning was going to see if they were alright but was then covered in Shade's aura and was brought face to face with him.
Shade stared deep in the eyes of the terrified captain "Now tell me who was the bitch who sent you and your sorry ass excuse of guards to attack us for no reason." he said his voice filled with anger.
"What did you say about me and my guards?" said a calm female voice
Shade turned to see who was talking to him. Standing by a royal carriage was a tall white alicorn with colored hair that seemed to flow on an invisible wind current. She wore a royal crown and necklace that were made of gold she stood by two more guards.
'So she must have sent them here' Shade thought
Shade turned so he was facing his new opponent as he did he threw the captain to side "I said your guards are worthless and you sending them to arrest us was a bad move on your part bitch" he spoke with venom in his voice.
The princess and her guards were surprised at what he said to her. The princess because no pony had ever talked to to her like that at least not in front of her and the guards because he wasn't killed for saying it. Shade smiled at the reactions he got from them and wondered why she sent her guards after him and Dex.
"So you have a reason for sending your little dogs to attack me and my friend?" he asked her
Celestia shook off her shock and looked at Shade "We were told about you and your friend and ask that both come calmly with us back to Canterlot" she said in same calm tone that she always had but Shade was not happy about this.
Instead he looked at her and said "Over my dead body bitch there is no way I'm gonna.." that was all he said before a golden aura shot him and sent him a few feet back.
Celestia had enough of his language she suspected him to be out for few hours but to her surprise he got back up and looked back at her with a glare that practically spelled death. His eyes changed from normal pony eyes to black holes with red reptilian slits for pupils
