//-------------------------------------------------------// Meeting Pinkie's Family -by Prince Ecosis- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Meeting Pinkie's Family //-------------------------------------------------------// Meeting Pinkie's Family The annoying sound of my alarm clock sounded off at 6:00 that morning. I fumbled to turn it off and got out of bed, stumbling a bit until I could balance myself on my feet. I then walked over to the dresser, grabbed my glasses, and put them on. Now able to see fully, I looked at the calender taped to the mirror, smiling at the circled day. It was my graduation day. It was finally here. I've finally finished my K-12 years. I've passed all my classes, all my tests for my Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years, and have earned just enough credits to graduate. I was ready to hurry up and get the day over with. Ready to hear my name, Anonymous Bon-Heartstrings, called up onto that stage, and have my diploma placed into my hand. Very eager, I quickly walked into the bathroom, took a shower, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair. I was getting dressed when my cellphone rang. I grabbed it from my nightstand and saw who was calling me, smiling at who was. It was Pinkie Pie, my girlfriend. And when I say "girlfriend", I don't mean "crush" or "very best friend", I mean "relationship girlfriend". Pinkie and I have been dating ever since sixth grade, when she was an exchange student from a rock farm. That's when I found out we had so many things in common. We like chess, sweets, talking, and each other. In fact, one time in eighth grade, I beat the heck out of a bully who kept picking on her, getting myself suspended for three weeks. But, for Pinkie, it was worth it. Ever since, Pinkie and I have been related, and it's been the best six years of my life. She's a sweet, beautiful party-loving sweetheart. Not only that, I get to graduate with her, and I paid Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna five bucks each to arrange my name to be called out right before Pinkie's. Anyway, I pressed "talk" and spoke. "Hello?", I said. "Hey, Nonny!", Pinkie Pie said, sounding happy and enthusiastic as usual, "Morning!" "Morning to you, Sweetie Pie", I said, "How are you this morning?" "Great!", Pinkie said, "I'm so excited for today! I get to graduate with you!" "And I get to graduate with you, Sweetie", I said. I could hear Pinkie giggle. "Oh, also", she said, "Can you give me a ride to school? My car's still in the shop". "Sure I can", I said, "I was going to anyway". We both giggled. "Well, I gotta finish getting ready. See you in about an hour, OK?" "OK, Nonny", Pinkie said, "I love you". "I love you too, Sweetie Pie", I said, ending the call. Right as I put the phone down, there was a knock on my door. "Anon?", my mom, Lyra Heartstrings called from the outside, "Are you awake?" "Yes, Mom", I said, "Come in". The door opened and Mom walked in, sitting down next to me on my bed. "How's my little graduate doing?", she said, pulling me into a tight cuddle. "Fine", I said, "So glad I get to graduate today, and with Pinkie too". Mom smiled and kissed my cheek. "Congrats, hon", Mom said, "Now, when you're ready to walk out the door, meet me and Bon-Bon downstairs. We have something we want to talk to you about". I nodded as she walked back downstairs. After putting my socks and shoes on and grabbing my backpack, I turned off my room light and went downstairs, seeing Mom and my other mom, Sweetie Drops, or "Bon-Bon", as she likes to be called, sitting on the long couch. Yeah, I have two moms, and both are biological. I'll tell you, it's a little uneasy to be the son of a lesbian couple, but it's better than no parents at all. However, I only call Lyra "Mom", because I was born from her, but I still love Bon-Bon as a mother just as much. Anyway, I sat down across from them in the recliner and rested my back against the soft cushions. "Morning, Bon-Bon", I said. "Morning to you too, Anon", Bon-Bon said, "Congrats on your graduation". "Thanks", I said. "Anyway", Mom said, "We want to talk to you. Listen up because it's some pretty good news". I nodded. "Lyra and I are very proud of you for passing your grade school years", Bon-Bon said, "And for that, allow us to present to you your first grad present". "What's that?", I said. Mom and Bon-Bon smiled at each other, then looked back at me. "We're giving you the house", Mom said. THAT surprised me heavily, as I almost fell over the back of the chair. "Really?!", I said. Both nodded. "But... you told me you've lived in this house ever since you were little. Where are you gonna live?" "We're going to live in Rumsville", Bon-Bon said, "And we're going to cash in that Leisure Springs Hotel coupon you gave us for Mother's Day until we can find a good house". I smiled. I knew something good would come out of forking over that coupon I won in a raffle and giving it to them. "Well... thanks!", I said. Both Mom and Bon-Bon smiled. "But... I'm just coming out of high school and I don't have a job. I can't afford to keep a two-story house". "Oh, you don't have to worry about that, hon", Mom said, "For the next year, we'll be paying your bills. Just send them to us at this address". She handed me a piece of paper with an address on it. "But next year, you're on your own, even if you don't have a job yet". "OK, Mom", I said, "Uh... one question". "Yes?", Mom asked. "Am I... allowed to let anyone else live with me?", I asked. "Well, why would you want to?", Bon-Bon asked. I blushed a little, basically answering her question. "Oh... you want your little sweetheart Pinkie to live with you?" I slowly nodded. "She's been living in a tiny apartment for about two months ever since her parents kicked her out of the house", I said, "She doesn't really like it there, so I wondered if she could live with me". "Well, of course she can live with you, honey", Mom said, smiling. I smiled. "Thanks, Mom. Thanks, Bon-Bon", I said. "No problem, Anon", Bon-Bon said, "Now, we'll be packing up and moving while you're at school, so we may be gone when you get back, but we'll still be there to see you get your diploma. Here's a little cash to help you for the first couple of weeks". She gave me a small handful of cash. I counted it, and the total was $200. I smiled. "And remember", Mom said, "If you need any help, you may come visit us or call us at any time". I smiled as I stood up. "Well, I need to get going", I said, grabbing my car keys off of the coffee table, "Love you, Mom. Love you, Bon-Bon. I'll miss you". I gave them both a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "We'll miss you too, Anon", Bon-Bon said, "Goodbye". I nodded and left the house. After a twenty-minute drive, I reached the apartment complex. I got out of the car, locked it, walked upstairs to Pinkie's apartment, and knocked loudly on the door. I waited for a couple seconds before knocking again. "Just a minute, Nonny!", Pinkie called from the inside, "I'm in the bathroom". "OK", I said, "Take your time". I waited a couple more seconds until I heard the toilet flush and Pinkie finally opened the door, instantly throwing her arms around my neck. "Hi, Nonny!", she said, kissing my cheek. "Hey, Sweetie Pie", I said, "You ready?" "Well... what time is it?", she asked. I looked at my watch. "7:00", I said, "We've got an hour and thirty minutes". Pinkie smiled. "Come in!", Pinkie said, "I made pancakes!" I smiled and nodded. Pinkie let go of me and allowed me in, locking the door behind her. Several boxes were everywhere as she hadn't fully unpacked. I don't blame her, because her apartment was so small that just a medium-sized TV would take up 1/4 of space. Anyway, she walked me into the kitchen. On the table were two plates holding large stacks of pancakes, a pitcher of orange juice, and a bottle of syrup. I blushed as I knew this was the sight of our first date. Pancakes and O.J., best thing to ever eat with Pinkie. Anyway, I sat in one of the chairs and Pinkie sat right next to me. "Thanks, Sweetie Pie", I said. "You're welcome, Nonny!", Pinkie said, giggling. Pinkie and I kept talking as we ate our pancakes. "So", I said, "Still not liking the apartment?" "*sigh* No", Pinkie said, "This apartment sucks. I don't even have anywhere to store my party cannon, and you know how much I love that". "Yeah", I said. "You're sooooooo lucky", Pinkie said, "Because your moms didn't kick you out of the house at seventeen. The least they could have done is let me stay until I graduated". "Well, I have great news", I said, "My moms are moving to Rumsville and are giving me the house". "Cool", she said, "You get the house to yourself?" "No", I said, "Not to myself". I pulled her into a small cuddle. "To ourselves". "Huh? You mean...?", Pinkie said. I winked at her. "You're gonna let me live with you?!" "You know it, Sweetie", I said. Pinkie smiled and hugged me. "Thank you so much, Nonny!", she said, kissing me full on the lips, "Now I'll have somewhere to put my party cannon AND a bigger home! A lot bigger than this piece-of-crap apartment". "Yeah", I said, "I can't wait for you to move in with me, just like I've wanted". "So", Pinkie said, "If I'm moving in, does that mean I need to start packing the rest of my stuff?" "No", I said, "Not right now. That can wait until after school". Pinkie smiled again. "OK", she said, "So, are you sure our names are gonna be called together?" "Yes", I said, "I gave the principals five dollars each to call my name before your's so we can both get our diplomas together". "Should we kiss on the stage?", Pinkie asked. "If you want to", I said. Pinkie giggled. "Let's do it!", she said, kissing me again. "I guess", I said, "Alright. Finish your pancakes so we can get going. We have thirty minutes to get there". Pinkie nodded and finished up her pancakes, as did I. After placing the dishes in the sink, I grabbed my keys and made way for the door, before Pinkie jumped on my back, wrapping her arms around my neck. "Piggyback me, please?", she said. I rolled my eyes and placed my arms under her dangling legs. "Sure", I said, "Just warn me next time, OK?" Pinkie giggled as I carried her to the car, set her down, and opened the passenger door for her. We got in and I started heading toward Canterlot High. "I'm so glad I get to move in with you, Nonny", Pinkie said. "Me too, Sweetie Pie", I said, "I told you during our Freshman year it would happen eventually". "I know I know", Pinkie said. We rode in silence for a while, then Pinkie broke that silence. "Aww man! I forgot I spilled chocolate sauce on this skirt last night!" I looked at her pink skirt, seeing a large brown stain on her right thigh. "Oh", I said, "Well, do you need me to go back so you can change? We got time". "Nope", Pinkie said, "I brought a backup one just in case". She pulled another pink skirt out of her backpack and started unfastening the buttons to the skirt she was wearing. "You gonna change in here?", I asked. "Yeah", she said, "Problem?" "Well", I said, "I'm in here. Don't you want to change in private?" "Oh, Nonny", Pinkie said, unzipping her skirt, "It's OK. You're my boyfriend. Plus, you've seen me without clothes before. Need I remind you I caught you peeping on me in the girl's locker room while I was showering during our Junior year?" "I thought we were gonna drop that subject", I said, "I was just curious. Plus, you said it was OK and dressed yourself in front of me". "I know I know", Pinkie said, "So, do you mind if I change in here?" "I guess not", I said. Pinkie smiled and changed her skirt while I kept driving to the school. She had finished just as I pulled into the parking lot. "Mind if I leave my other skirt in here?", Pinkie said. "No", I said, "Now, come on". Pinkie nodded as she got out of the car and we walked into Canterlot High for the last time. ~~~~~~~~~~ At 12:00, it was lunchtime and I was happy as I could be. Not only was it "Pizza Friday", but it was right before Seniors were gonna get called down to the outside auditorium for graduation and sent home early. Pinkie and I were sitting at our table, eating our lunch and talking, mostly about the graduation ceremony. "This is it", I said, "After lunch, you and I will be graduating from Canterlot High". "Yeah!", Pinkie said, "I get to graduate and live with you, Nonny. All I've ever wanted". "Me too, Sweetie Pie", I said, pulling her into a long kiss. "Ms. Pie, Mr. Bon-Heartstrings", another voice said. Pinkie and I stopped kissing and saw Vice Principal Luna standing in front of us. "After the bell rings, you two can kiss all you want. But until then, please keep your lips to yourselves, alright?" "Yes, Vice Principal Luna", I said, "So, are you sure our names will be called together?" "I'm sure", Vice Principal Luna said, "I made the changes last night and arranged your name to come before her's. By the way, thanks for that money you gave me and my sister". "No problem", I said. Vice Principal Luna walked away. Right when she did, the intercom's buzzer sounded off. "Attention, students and staff", Principal Celestia said through the mic, "Please pardon this interruption. All Seniors please report to the outside auditorium. Please be sure to dress into your red gown and cap before going or you will not be participating in the ceremony". Pinkie and I both smiled and went down out to the auditorium, only stopping to get dressed into our graduation uniforms. We just put them on over our clothes so we didn't have to worry about changing later. Two hours later... Pinkie and I were standing off-stage, waiting for our names to be called. There was a very long list of Seniors that made graduation, so it took a while. I could see both Mom and Bon-Bon sitting in the back row, and I could see in their face they were waiting for me to get mine. Bon-Bon was even holding a video camera, and I knew she was ready. Anyway, after another thirty minutes, I finally heard what I wanted. "...Anonymous Bon-Heartstrings...", Principal Celestia said. I smiled bright as I walked out onto the stage and up to Vice Principal Luna. I grabbed my diploma with my left hand and shook her right hand, facing Bon-Bon so she could get a good shot of my face. I then stood next to her as I waited for Pinkie. "...and Pinkamena Diane Pie", Principal Celestia finished. Pinkie walked out onto the stage, grabbed her diploma, jumped into my arms, and kissed me, causing a loud "Aww!" to emanate from the audience. We would have stood there for hours if Vice Principal Luna hadn't broken us up so Principal Celestia could finish the ceremony. "Ladies and Gentlemen", she said, "This is Class of 2018. We wish them good luck with their lives and are sad to say farewell from Canterlot High. Enjoy your lives and good luck, Seniors". The audience cheered loudly as the ceremony came to an end. I went to the back to meet up with my moms, while Pinkie met up with her five friends, who had also graduated the same day. "Congratulations, hon", Mom said, kissing my cheek. "Thanks, Mom", I said, returning the kiss. "I got a good shot of you when you accepted your diploma and kissed your little sweetheart", Bon-Bon said, getting a kiss for herself, "Now we have a little family memory of your graduation". "Cool", I said, "You are gonna copy it so I can re-watch it, right?" "Of course, Anon", Bon-Bon said, "Why wouldn't I? Anyway, did you tell Pinkie she was allowed to move in?" "Yeah", I said, "She's pretty excited too. I think she's just ready to get out of that apartment". "Great", Mom said, "OK, now. We have to go. The moving truck is waiting for us. We packed everything that's our's, but left the flat-screen television in the living room for you and Pinkie". "Thanks, Mom", I said. "You're welcome, Sweetheart", Mom said, "And remember, you can visit us anytime". I nodded as Mom and Bon-Bon left the auditorium, waving back at me. After that, I met back up with Pinkie. "I told you our names would be called together", I said. Pinkie giggled and kissed me again. "I know", she said. "So, wanna go out and celebrate?", I said, "I'm feeling cheesecake". "You read my mind, Nonny", Pinkie said, "Let's go". She jumped into my arms again and I carried her to my car. We took our gowns and caps off, placed them in the back, and got in. After that, I drove us to Sugarcube Corner. One hour later... Pinkie and I picked the best day to go to Sugarcube Corner. For high school graduates, they were having a 40% discount on everything, and that was great. We weren't the only ones with the idea, either. Almost half of the Seniors that graduated were there, and we were lucky to get there first. Anyway, Pinkie and I were sitting in a booth on the same side, having cheesecake and chocolate eclairs, and enjoying time to ourselves. We were gonna have a lot of it too, especially now that we live together. "Finally", I said, "Done with grade school. K-12 is over". "Yeah!", Pinkie said, swallowing a mouthful of eclair, "And we got to graduate together!" "Mm-hmm", I said, "So, should we start thinking about college?" "We don't have to go immediately, do we?", Pinkie asked. "No", I said, "Just whenever we want to. All I know is, you're looking at the next member of the..." I remembered other graduates were around, so I whispered in Pinkie's ear. "Omega Psi Phi". "Cool", Pinkie whispered back, "I wanna be an Alpha Kappa Alpha". "That's great", I said, "So, maybe we should go. We need to get you moved into my house". Pinkie nodded. "Anything you want to order to take with you?" Pinkie smiled and nodded. "Mrs. Cake!", she said loudly. Mrs. Cake walked around the counter and to our table. "Everything alright here?", she asked. "We want to order a few things to go", I said. "Alright", Mrs. Cake said, "What will that be?" "Two personal apple pies please", Pinkie said, "Oh, with maple eclairs". "And I'll just take a medium chocolate cheesecake", I said. Mrs. Cake nodded and walked off. After she returned with our orders, I paid the check and we left the restaurant. ~~~~~~~~~~ It took nearly four hours, but we were able to rent a moving truck, pack up and move Pinkie's stuff, and get her moved in with me. There was a little debate about where we should put her party cannon, but we soon agreed to put it in the living room next to the fireplace. Her stuff actually brightened up the house with colors, and we took a couple pictures of ourselves so we could hang them up. Pinkie was my girlfriend and my roommate, just like I wanted. We were sitting on the couch at that point. Pinkie was sitting on my back, massaging me. I'll tell you, despite her long nails, her hands are like soft pillows when she's massaging me. "A new home", she said, "With my boyfriend. Best thing ever!" "Yeah...", I said, "Same *ohh!* here. And whenever we're ready, we'll hopefully be college roommates". "Yeah", Pinkie said. She hopped off my back and onto the couch, opening one of her pie boxes and guzzling it down quick. I sat back up and put my shirt back on. "So", I said, "Where do you plan on sleeping?" "Where do you think?", Pinkie said, her mouth expelling little pie crust crumbs, "With you, duh!" "Good", I said, "I was just wondering. Just wanted to find out if you would be comfortable with sharing a bed with me". "Oh, Nonny", Pinkie said, putting the empty pie box in the wastebasket next to the couch, "Why wouldn't I want to sleep in the same bed with you if I love snuggling with you?" She lifted herself and sat down in my lap, resting her head on my chest. I smiled and returned the cuddle, wrapping my arms around her and resting my head on top of her's. "I love you, Sweetie Pie", I said, kissing her cheek. Pinkie giggled and returned the kiss. "I love you too, Nonny", she said. She then looked down. "Uh... Nonny? Can I tell you something?" "Sure", I said, patting her back. "Well, I've been thinking", Pinkie said, "And maybe we should raise our relationship a little more". "Pinkie...", I said, "You know we're not married yet, so I don't think we should be thinking about-" "No no no", Pinkie said, "Not that". "OK", I said, feeling a little relived, "Then what?" "Well", Pinkie said, "I've met your moms. You, me, Mrs. Heartstrings, and Mrs. Bon-Bon had dinner together and you introduced me to them. But, you've never met my family, and they don't know you yet". "Yes", I said, "So, what are you getting at?" "I want you to meet my family, silly!", Pinkie said. "Uh... OK...", I said, "When?" "Tonight!", Pinkie said, "I'll call Mom and see if we can come over for dinner". "Tonight?", I said, "But Pinkie, this is our graduation day. I thought you and I were gonna have this day to ourselves". "We can", Pinkie said, "It's just a dinner. It's not like I want us to stay the night there. All we have to do sit down, eat, and then we can go". "Uh... uh...", I said, rubbing the back of my neck nervously. "Please Nonny?", Pinkie asked, "Just once? I'll make you my signature chocolate cake you love so much". I groaned. She knew my weakness every time she wanted something: the chocolate cake she makes herself from scratch. Pinkie's homemade cakes are like Heaven, no matter what flavor, especially chocolate. "O... OK, Sweetie", I said, "I'll go". Pinkie smiled and hugged me as tight as she could. "Thank you, Nonny! Thank you!", she said, planting multiple kisses on my cheek. "Uh... sure...", I said, "Uh... do I need to wear anything formal?" "Nope", Pinkie said, "Just wear something nice and clean". I nodded. "OK, gotta make the call!" She pulled out her cell phone and dialed a number while I went upstairs and changed into my favorite attire, which was basically a leather jacket with a collared shirt. After getting dressed, I went back downstairs. "OK! We'll be right over!", Pinkie said, finishing up her call, "O-OK, Mom. Bye!" She hung up and smiled at me wide. "Mom just finished making dinner and EVERYONE is there! Even my sisters! It's a PERFECT day for a dinner with the family!" "OK...", I said. "C'mon!", Pinkie said, getting seriously eager, "Let's go! I'll drive us!" "Alright", I said. Pinkie ran out of the door and hopped into the car. I grabbed the keys she forgot, locked the door, and sat on the passenger side, giving Pinkie the keys. "Now take it easy behind the wheel. I don't want my car ending up in the shop too. One of us has to have a ride, you know". Pinkie giggled. "OK, Nonny", Pinkie said. She started up the car and started driving us to her parents' house. ~~~~~~~~~~ After a near forty minute drive, we reached her parents' house. Pinkie and I got out of the car and walked up to the door. Pinkie rang the doorbell and we waited a couple seconds until the door opened. A woman, wearing a grey sweater and glasses, opened it. "Hi, Mom!", Pinkie said, hugging her mother. "Hello, Pinkie", the woman said. She then looked at me. "This must be your boyfriend". "Uh-huh!", Pinkie said, "This is Anonymous Heartstrings". "Bon-Heartstrings, Pinkie", I said, "I've got a two-part last name". "Oh right. *giggle*", Pinkie said. I shook the woman's hand as she smiled at me. "I'm Cloudy Quartz", she said, "Pinkie's mother". "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Quartz", I said. "You too, Mr. Bon-Heartstrings", Mrs. Quartz said. "You can just call me Anon", I said. Mrs. Quartz chuckled. "Will do", she said, "Alright, come in. Dinner is ready. Lead him to the kitchen, Pinkie". "OK, Mom", Pinkie said. She lead me to the kitchen where the rest of her family was. Sitting in the biggest chair was a man wearing an orange sweater and a black bowler hat, and sitting in the other chairs were three girls, all wearing gray sweatshirts like Mrs. Quartz. Pinkie sat down in one of the chairs and I sat next to her. "Dad, sisters", she said, "This is my boyfriend, Anonymous Bon-Heartstrings". "Hello", I said. "Hi", the oldest girl said, showing absolutely no expressions in her face, "I'm Maud, the oldest of us. And this is Boulder, my pet". She pointed to a tiny pebble on the table next to her plate. "Oh... uh...", I said, "You know that's just-" I was cut off when Pinkie slapped her hand over my mouth. "Nonny", she whispered, "Never tell Maud that Boulder is just a rock. I don't know why, but she thinks it's a pet, and if we tell her that, she gets upset". "OK", I said. I turned back to Maud. "Nice to meet you, Maud". "I'm Marble", the middle one said, "I'm the second born. You're cute!" "OK...", I said, "Thanks?" "You know", Marble said, "If you ever get tired of Pinkamena, I'm single". "Whoa whoa whoa!", Pinkie said, "He's my boyfriend". "I know...", Marble said, sounding a little dejected. "I'm Limestone", the second-middle one said, "The third born. I'm pretty much the brains of the family". "How smart are you?", I asked. "Why don't you find out?", Limestone said. "What's pi to the second power?", I asked. "9.8696044", Limestone said. I smiled. "I guess you are pretty smart", I said. I looked down the table at the man, who stared at me with an angry expression. "What are you looking at, Heartstrings?!", he said rudely. "Uh... it's Bon-Heartstrings, sir", I said, "But you can call me Anon". "Oh so you're correcting me in my own home?!", the man said, sounding even more rude than before. I decided to stop talking to him, which was at the same time Mrs. Quartz had came back. "I'm back, everyone", she said, "Has everyone made Anon feel welcome?" "Everyone but Dad", Maud said, pointing at her father. Mrs. Quartz rolled her eyes. "Hon", she said, "Please introduce yourself to Anon". "Why would I introduce myself to him knowing he's trying to take my daughter from me?!", the man said. "Huh?", I asked, confused, "What do you mean?" "It's OK, Anon", Mrs. Quartz said, "Igneous here is just feeling a little uneasy about you dating Pinkie". She then turned back to her husband. "If you want me to keep using 40% of my paycheck so you can watch pay-per-view every month, you will treat our lovely guest with the respect he deserves". The man growled under his breath. "I'm Igneous Rock", he said, looking at me with a very angry expression, "Pinkie's father". "Nice to meet you, Mr. Rock", I said. "Nice to... meet you too... Anon", Mr. Rock said, his teeth clenched. Mrs. Quartz patted his back and sat across from me next to Mr. Rock. "Alright, girls, I wanna see napkins in laps before you start. Anon, I hope you like steak. Maud decided what we should have". "I love it", I said, scooting my plate toward me a little, "Thank you, Mrs. Quartz". "You're welcome, sweetheart", Mrs. Quartz said. She placed her napkin in her sweater and we all began eating. My plate contained a large, well-done steak, garlic mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn, and mac-and-cheese, along with a wine glass full of cola. Everything tasted great, but it was very uneasy to eat with a grown man staring right at you with an angry expression. I wanted to ask why he was staring at me, but I kept myself from doing so, knowing if I opened my mouth, it wouldn't be pretty. I was about halfway done eating when Mrs. Quartz broke the silence that seemed like would last forever. "So, Anon", she said, wiping her face, "How long have you and Pinkie been dating?" "Ever since sixth grade", I said. "Yeah!", Pinkie said, swallowing a mouthful of cola, "He stood up for me against a bully and I loved him!" She kissed me, which I wish she didn't, because I saw Mr. Rock's bottom lip poke out a little. "I wish you would have stood up for me", Marble said, "You're very cute". "Oh... uh... thanks", I said. "Excuse Marble, Anon", Limestone said, "She's still feeling a little dejected after it didn't work out with her previous boyfriend, Snips Scissorton". "Yeah...", Marble said, "He was too dumb to even know when we had the same classes together, and he cared more about spending time with his friend Snails than with me". "Oh, OK", I said. We went back to eating for a bit. At that point, I was starting to get annoyed at Mr. Rock staring at me, so I decided to talk to Pinkie to figure that out. "Pinkie...", I whispered, "Why does your dad keep staring at me?" "He doesn't like it whenever one of us start dating", Pinkie said, "He thinks we'll forget about him". "Well, I can't enjoy myself with him staring at me like a hawk", I said, "Is there a way for him to respect me quickly?" "There is one way", Pinkie said, "You have to beat him at a game of chess". "Chess?", I asked, "Well that seems easy". "It isn't", Pinkie said, "No one has ever beaten Dad at chess in his life. It's his specialty". "If it's worth getting the respect of your father and being able to enjoy the rest of my life with you", I said, "I'll do it". I cleared my throat and looked at Mr. Rock. "So, Mr. Rock. Pinkie tells me you're a good chess player". "Yes", Mr. Rock said. "Well", I said, "I'm a chess player too, and I was wondering if you would-?" "You're challenging me to a chess game?!?!", Mr. Rock yelled, "In my own home?!?!" It was at that point that I knew asking him that was a bad idea. "You just made the biggest mistake of your life, Heartstrings! Cloudy, go get my chessboard!" "Hon", Mrs. Quartz said, "I'm sure he just wants to play chess with you for fun". "Anyone that challenges me to a chess game wants to take my championship away from me, Cloudy!", Mr. Rock said to his wife, "Now go get it!" Mrs. Quartz sighed and got up. "I'm sorry, Anon", she said, leaving the room. She soon came back with a chess board, fully set up, setting it on the table, the white pieces facing me and the black pieces facing him. "You go first!", Mr. Rock yelled. "You know, Mr. Rock", I said, trying desperately to get out, "I don't want to play anymore". "GO!!!!!", Mr. Rock yelled again. I jumped and quickly moved a pawn up. Five minutes later, the game was still going on. Pinkie was holding my left hand, and I was playing with my right one. From the looks of Pinkie's sister's faces, they were rooting for me, but I wasn't winning. I only had my queen, rook, knight, and king left, while he had nearly all of his pieces left. It was a hard game. "Check", Mr. Rock said, "You ready to give up yet?" I looked at the game, and smiled, seeing the opening I wanted. I moved my queen in front of my king, cutting off his check, but also blocking his king. I had won. "Checkmate", I said. Mr. Rock checked the board very carefully. "Checkmate... correct...", he said with so much disbelief, "You... win..." "Alright, Anon!", Marble said. "You're the first one to ever beat Dad in a chess game!", Limestone said. "Come here, you big champ!", Pinkie said, pulling me close to her and kissing me tight. After the kiss, I looked back at Mr. Rock to say "Good game", but he was standing up over me, the same look on his face. I have to admit, I was very scared. "No one has ever beaten me in my specialty game", he said, "Follow me, son". I really didn't want to, but his voice was a lot more calming than it was. I let go of Pinkie and followed Mr. Rock into the living room. "So...", I said, "What is it, Mr. Rock?" "I have something to say to you", he said, "Now, I know I didn't exactly welcome you into this house the way you wanted. It's just, my daughters are my special jewels, and every time one of them brings a boy home with them, it makes me think they're gonna forget about me and Cloudy. I really don't want to lose my baby jewel". "Aww, Mr. Rock", I said, "I know what you mean. But look, Pinkie may be my girlfriend now, but she isn't going to forget you or Mrs. Quartz. Pinkie told me she loves her family more than she loves sugary snacks, and you know that's a lot of love". Mr. Rock chuckled a bit. "Anyway, relationship love may be strong, but family love is even stronger. Pinkie's only known me for six years, but she's known her family for seventeen years". Right then, Mr. Rock smiled. "So, why don't we start over?" I held my hand out to him. "Hi. I'm Anonymous Bon-Heartstrings, Pinkie's boyfriend". I expected a handshake, but he pulled me into a big hug, and I'll say, he's got grip. "Nice to meet you, Anon", he said, "You can call me Igneous". He let go of me. "OK", I said. "Alright, let's go finish our dinner", Igneous said. I nodded and followed Mr. Rock back to the kitchen. One hour later, everyone had finished eating and Mrs. Quartz collected our plates. Everything tasted great, and I was happy that I had made good friends with Pinkie's family, especially Igneous. "Was everything alright, Anon?", Mrs. Quartz asked. "Yes, Mrs. Quartz", I said, "Very tasty". "I'm glad you liked it", Maud said, still with zero expression, "I helped make it". "Well, thank you, Maud", I said. Maud finally smiled and left the kitchen, taking "Boulder" with her. "OK", I said, "Maybe we should get going, if you're alright with it, Pinkie". "Sure!", Pinkie said, jumping into my lap. "Anon", Igneous said, "Before you go, I wanna tell you..." He held his hand out to me. "... welcome into the Pie/Rock Family". I smiled and happily shook his hand. "Glad to be welcome", I said, standing up. Pinkie, of course, jumped on my back, wanting to be piggybacked again. I then started walking out of the kitchen. "Anon", Igneous said again. I turned around to face him again. "Please take good care of my daughter". I smiled. "I will, Igneous", I said. I then walked out of the house and drove Pinkie and I back to my house. ~~~~~~~~~~ I sat in my bed in my PJ's, licking chocolate cake crumbs and frosting from my fingers and face. Like I said, Pinkie makes the best cake ever. In fact, I ate six slices of the cake, leaving Pinkie with the other four. I would have taken the rest of the cake if I hadn't had dinner previously. Anyway, I was waiting for Pinkie to finish up in the bathroom so we could go to sleep together. It was another three minutes before she finally came out, wearing a plain pink T-shirt that was a little big on her, covering her yellow underwear slightly. "Well", I said, "Took you long enough". "Whatever", Pinkie said, rolling her eyes, "You try drinking four glasses of soda with a tiny bladder". "I was just joking, Sweetie Pie", I said. Pinkie giggled and got in the bed next to me. I turned off the lamp and cuddled Pinkie lightly. "Does this bed feel better than the one at your old apartment?" "Sooooo much better", Pinkie said, "It's soft and comfy". I chuckled as Pinkie snuggled into my pajama top. She let out a loud sigh and a yawn. "I love you, Nonny". I smiled and kissed her forehead. "I love you too, Sweetie Pie", I said, "Goodnight".
