The Guardians

(Somewhere in the atmosphere)

Breaking through an atmosphere isn't so bad if you get used to it. Also, if you become a meteor and crash land it hurts, but at the same you get a relieved feeling of not being a million degrees. One specific being by the name of The Sixth Guardian or, Six for short was doing just that. Entering a new world as a meteor. The only things going through his head were if Four could find him, where he was, and if Four was even on the same planet. He looked forward at his destination, saw a castle, and seeing how he couldn't change direction braced for impact.
'Oh, Shiiiiiiiitt!' Was his last thought before blacking out.

Tidy Mane was pretty much nopony. She was just one of the janitors working for the Princesses. Today she was assigned with mopping the floors, dishes, and cleaning Princess Luna's chambers. As Tidy was making her way down to Luna's chambers she saw what looked like black mist fading away from the hallway she was just about to turn into. Tidy turned the corner and then saw it. Princess Luna was laying unconscious on the floor in a puddle of vomit and her personal guards were no where to be found! She screamed.

"Help! Help! Princess Luna is unconscious!" Soon enough a whole guard squad arrived on the scene with Princess Celestia in tow. Tidy Mane bowed to the sun princess and started squabling on about what she found.

Celestia calmed down the pony and asked what happened. "My little pony, do you know what happened here?"

"No, sorry Princess but, I don't." Then she realized something that might help, "But, I did see what looked like black smoke fade away when I turned the corner, if that helps."

"Actually, it does. Thank you my little pony," Celestia said to Tidy then turned to the guards. "Alright guards, you know what to do. Look for anypony suspicious and if you find the pony who did this come straight to me. Understood?"

"Yes ma'm!" All the guards said in unison.

Celestia picked Luna up with her magic and carried her to her room.
"Oh Lulu, who could have done this," Celestia said to herself. As if on cue a flaming meteorite came crashing into the wall of Luna's room. Rubble piled everywhere and Celstia dug her way out of a pile of stone blocks. "What in Equestria happened!" Celestia yelled to know one in particular. She looked around to see if anypony was caught in the rubble, and then she remembered. "Lulu! Where are you?! Lulu!" Celestia was really worried now. Then she heard a muffled voice, it sounded like it was trying to say something.

"Geh off o meh." There it was again.

"Lulu? Is that you?"Celestia replied and her answer was a tap on her front right hoof. She looked down and saw Luna awake and perfectly fine, but how did she end up under her? Never mind that the important that she is okay. Celestia helped Luna to her hooves and checked her for injuries.

"I'm fine sister," Luna said slightly annoyed. They shared a quick hug and looked at the room. "This place is a mess," Luna declared, "but, what happened?" She looked into her sisters eyes, but Celestia's eyes were looking past her.

"Perhaps that thing will tell us." Luna looked behind her and saw a black figure laying on the floor. Luna walked up to it and thought it looked like the thing in her dream. She poked it.

"Why hello there! I just crashed through thirteen inch stone walls, can't a guy take a nap? Oh, I forgot to ask would you like a snack?" An other worldly voice asked in a crappy british accent. The sisters were surprised at what just happened. Luna poked the black thing on the floor and an other worldly voice started talking again. "Hey, you, moon cheeks." Luna guessed it was talking to her. The thought of being called moon cheeks made Luna huff and use the Royal Canterlot shout.

"None shall call thou lunar princess, Moon cheeks." Luna shouted with a little anger.

This earned a laugh from Celestia, "Ooh Luna. Can't you see it's joking with you."

"Hey I'm not done here, Sunbutt," the voice said.

Taken back at this comment left Celestia to punish this being, "Sunbutt, how dare you call royalty such an uncanny and offensive name!"

"Royalty, aye? Haven't seen royalty in some time. I'm sorry ma'ladies, may I ask your names of 'royalty'," asked the voice.

Luna answered for both of them, "I am Princess Luna of the moon of night and this is my older sister Princess Celestia of the sun of the day. Now, may we ask your name and what is this thing on the floor?" Luna poked it again.

"Hey! Don't poke me," the voice exclaimed with annoyance. "Those hooves actually kinda hurt. How would you like to poked over and over again with a metal plated hoof?"

Luna and Celestia didn't really know what to think about this voice, whether it was trying to sound like it needed help or it was just being a wise-ass and sarcastic. But an other worldly voice belonging to a strange object on the floor? What was it anyway?

Celestia had to ask a few questions, "This thing is you?"

"Yes," the voice replied.

"Okay, but what are you?"

"I am a bipedal creature with two eyes, one and a half ears, one nose, and a surprise in my pants... I mean hand!" and with that the thing jumped up from where it was laying. It waved a claw in the air with a black mist surrounding it and the room went dark. With the room pitch black the sisters cast a light spell, but it got cancelled out by the darkness. Luna and Celestia felt something on their shoulders, they tried to speak but the feeling on their shoulder vanished and covered their mouths. "Make a peep and I will kill you and then go on a rampage. Starting with," a small dim light appeared in front of Celestia's eyes, "you."

Celestia started to get a little scared at the creatures eyes. They were mismatched, a pure black one on the left and a midnight blue on the right with a cat iris. "But there is no fun in that now is there? I will let you speak, but only because that is a silly reason." The creature moved over to Luna who had fear in her eyes.

It put a claw under her chin and Celestia screamed, "You touch her and I'll kill you!" The creature ignored her and moved the claw up onto Luna's nose. It then moved its left claw under its cloak and with lightning fast speed, threw a knife in front of Celestia cutting of a couple hairs and into the wall beside her.

It laughed in such an evil way it reminded her of Tirek, who had been put away long ago. "Ha ha ha, will you now? You will kill me? The same being who managed to scare the princess of the night, the same being who put a spell on you two so you can't move, the same being who wil KILL YOU!!!" The two princesses could hear the insanity in its voice, it was clearly more insane than the old Discord.

"Goodbye Luna," Ceslestia half sobbed.

"Sister, no. If this thing is insane and more powerful than us it would have killed us by now. Isn't that right," Luna asked the creature.

"Nope! Wrong answer, try again! Oh wait, you only get one try. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

About five minutes ago...

"So, this is the castle," Four asked the six ponies.

"Yep, and the two princesses live here. Luna controls the moon and watches over ponies in the night and sometimes goes into the dream world to help ponies with nightmares. Celestia is Luna's older sister, and she watches over the ponies of this land in the day, along with duties like meetings and and paperwork," Twilight answered.

"Ha, the eldest gets all the boring stuff," Four said with a laugh.

"Well actually Princess Luna helps with that stuff to."

"Oh, well anyways let's get in there and find Six," Four started walking out of the alley they were in due to a teleportation mishap.

Rainbow Dash then reallised that the guards would see him and attack. "Four wait, once the guards see you their immediatley going to attack, since you're an unknown creature."

"Oh yeah, huh. Say Twilight, do you know any spells that will turn me into a pony or make me look like a pony to everything, but still have my original form?"

Twilight thought deep and came up with a spell that transformed creatures into different creatures, but at a consequence. "Yes, I know one, but it has a consequence."

Four thought, 'A consequence. Eh, what's the worst that could happen?' Four asked Twilight, "And what is this consequence?"

The others wondered to. "Yes, Twilight darling, what is the consequence," Rarity asked.

"What is it?" asked Rainbow

"Ah also would like to know, Twilight."

"Ya, come on Twi, tell us tell us tell us."

"Um, can I ask to,... if you don't mind," Fluttershy asked in a voice so quiet Four could barely hear it.

Twilight rubbed one leg against her other looking rather nervous. "All right, all right," Twilight said frustrated, " You see, it has a very painful process. It involves breaking every bone in the body and then reform into the desired creature," Twilight looked queasy. And the other girls except for Rainbow and AJ, looked like they were going to vomit on spot.

Four was a little surprised to see this world full of peace and little violence had a harmful spell that required such a painful process. But, Four had been through much worse, "Seriously, that's it," Four had a little tease in his voice.

The six ponies gasped and Applejack was taken back. "What do ya mean that's it. It breaks every bone in your darn body, now is that not a big enough punishment for such a process," Aj said with a little worry for him.

"No, I've been through worse. Now Twilight, about that spell."

"Are you sure about this Four. I mean how many bones do you have?" Twilight was starting to regret saying anything about the spell.

"Hmmm... I'd have to say about, over 240." Twilight was standing there mouth agape. Four waved his hand in her face, "Hey Twilight any one home? Helloooooooo?"

She quickly snapped out of her trance and said, "Ya, ya I'm here," she charged her horn and shot a small purple ball into the middle of Four's chest. The sound of bones breaking echoed in the alley and a couple grunts of pain were released. Fluttershy was vomiting in the corner, while Rarity was holding her hair. Rainbow, Twilight, and Applejack put their hooves over their ears to block out the sickening cracks. Pinkie Pie on the other ha...er hoof was dancing to the sounds and bending her body in the same shapes as Four. A few moments later the cracking and popping of joints ended. The ponies looked at what used to be a bipedal creature, into a stallion that looked the same age as them and a little shorter than Luna.

"Ow. That didn't hurt to bad," Four said as he popped his neck. "Now, let's have a look over shall we." Four turned his head and looked at his new body. His coat was a dark grey and had dozens of scars carved into his skin and wings that looked a little tattered. He had a light grey medium length mane and short tail, with a single strand of black. On his flank he adorned a picture of a sharp toothed grin. His face had a deep scar running along his left cheek, and his eyes were a bright red with red cat iris.

The ponies stared at Four in awe. "I think he's kinda handsome." Twilight said.

"Thanks, but we need to go now. Six, castle, princesses, possible insanity, slight chance of death."

"Right, let's get going and why would your brother kill somepony over nothing," Twilight asked.

"Well... you see the thing is after spending years of mourning one day he snapped. He went on a rampage killing anyone who had done the worst sin to the most simplest sin. Have it be murder to," he looked at Rarity, "lying for your little sister for her own good. And so when ever he goes somewhere new the wall that separates him from sanity and insanity breaks. Leaving anyone open for deaths embrace, so that is why we need to hurry."

Present time...

The door to Luna's chambers were wide open, but a black smoke blocked the door way. The six ponies and Four ran and flew as fast as they could. Four jumped through the smoke to find Six staring into Celestia's eyes, and had his claws unsheathed. Four could only do one thing to stop him before he could hurt the princess, he had to fight Six. Four spread his wings and made a powerful thrust forward, tackling Six to the ground. Bringing a hoof down onto Six's face he was stopped midway, Six had caught Four's hoof. Six brought his other hand up onto his attackers shoulder to get a break in position, then Six looked into his attackers eyes and stopped. Six used his telepathy to talk to this pony, 'Four, are you a pony,' Six looked along his body, 'a pegasus at that?'

"Yes Six, I am a pegasus. I had to take this form to get to you before you killed the princesses of this land of peace," Four yelled louldy enough for the others to hear.

'Kill them? Dude, you know I would never take an innocent life, after what happened,' Six replied in a calm voice/thought.

Four was confused. Did he say he wasn't going to kill them, then why did he have the room dark and his claws out? "You mean to tell me you weren't going to kill them? Then what were you doing with your claws out, hmmm?"

'Just having a little fun, you know a joke.'

Four was angry at Six for creating a bad impression, but at the same time relieved. "A joke, really. You call that a joke," Four got off of Six and looked at the ponies in the room, "Sorry about that princesses. He has a weird sense of humor." Four looked towards Six and hit him aside the head, "You crazy son of a bitch! You really had them scared didn't you, say did you throw that knife to look dangerous?"

The princesses were a little shocked at what was happening. They couldn't see a thing. Celestia had a look of question on her face.

"Excuse me, but we still can't see. Would you mind if you could clear this smoke," Celestia asked.

The same voice that was just talking replied, "I'm sorry ma'am, but my friend here doesn't like to be seen in his current form. Could you cast a transformation spell on him?"

Celestia was now a little curious about this character that was 'playing a joke' on her and Luna. "Why doesn't he like to be seen in his current form?"

"Because if looks could make you faint over from fear, wait that does happen, anyway it's because he doesn't want to give the wrong impression."

"I understand. Okay, but after he is to be arrested for threatening our lives and holding us hostage," Celestia said with a tone of anger.

Four sighed, "Arresting him wouldn't do anything, he would just break out no matter how tight the security."

Celestia charged her horn and cast the spell in front of her. She could hear the cracking of bones and popping joints, she winced at the feeling. When the transformation was complete the darkness started to be sucked into a new ponies head. The ponies in front of her were extraordinary, one looked like a normal red pony with a strange cutie mark. The other was unexplainable, he wore a hooded black cloak with a black and golden collar with a strange symbol. The ponies couldn't see his face, except a midnight blue muzzle with a couple sharpened teeth poking out and a little bit of a dark grey mane, he was a little taller than Luna.

Rainbow leaned next to Applejack and whispered, "The strong and silent type, that guy is. Dashie likey."

"Rainbow ya don't even know who he is." Applejack sighed, "He gives me this feeling that he's mourning over somepony that he thinks her death was his fault."

"Na, your just trying to get me out of your way so you can take him," Rainbow said in a cocky tone.

"No, I'm not."

"Aj your a terrible liar. I can see it on your face."

"Okay, maybe I like the strong and silent type, but I'm not tryin to get ya out of the way," Aj sighed. She heard a cough come from Four, everypony could hear their conversation. Rainbow blushed and stepped back, Aj hid under her hat with bright pink cheeks.

"Okayyy, now that we can get back to the things at hand- dammit, hoof. My name is The Fourth Guardian or Four," with a bow he punched Six's leg. Six bowed and Four introduces him to the princesses, "This is my brother, Six. And you are...?"
