Five years after the Mane 6's adventures throughout Equestria, a dark unicorn stallion emerges from the Everfree Forest. With no knowledge of his true purpose in life, the Mane 6 team up with a group of new heroes to help him find his soul. What follows is an adventure that will bring about change to Equestria forever.

Meanwhile, an ancient evil has emerged from the darkest depths of Tartarus. From the shadows, it threatens to bring ruin to Equestria and beyond. But, for some reason, it wants the dark unicorn first. But, if it wants to accomplish anything, it will have to face a group of powerful ponies.

This is but the first of a chain of events that will lead Equestria one of two ways. Friendships will strengthen. Love will blossom. New enemies will rise. Will the Equestrian Heroes triumph? Or will evil succeed in the demise of all living things?
