This is not the way I wanted to end my school day. Wait... What are they doing? Oh...
Button Mash is an introvert who cares about nothing but Video Games, and when he ends up hiding in the theatre room, he is forced to come up with an excuse... That he wanted to sign up for the production. Little did he know, he was perfect for the main male role. This day did not turn out the way he wanted it to.

I remember...
The beeping of my video-gaming console had me consumed in its virtual world.
It was the first day of school...
And suddenly the screen went black, and the voices slowed and faded into silence.
The day my life changed forever...
And what broke that silence was something much worse than a simple video-game demon.
The day I met your mother.
"BUTTON MASH!" The tall creature yelled, standing near the black screen of the T.V. I shrunk back little and managed to nod my head. "Did you get any sleep last night?" She said firmly, almost tipping over into anger. I felt a lump in my throat... Probably one filled of regret. I knew I shouldn't have let my self continue onto the next level, then onto the next and so on! UGH! I was doing a mental face-palm.
"It depends what your definition of, uh, sleep is..." I said, pointing my finger towards the ceiling. I looked into my mother’s eyes and I saw the fire in them... What have I done! I had unleashed the devil upon myself.

I had managed to get to school in one piece. I couldn’t really say much about the walk here; I was playing my video game console.

I stood staring up at the menacing school, I watched as groups of friends slipped through the glass doors and into the school. I searched for the singulars, the rejects, and the outcasts. And saw there was none.

I started walking towards the school and when I entered, I saw organized chaos. I saw a bundle of teenagers, all strewn together. I saw kids, my age, run through the crowd with smiles stretched on their faces.

I couldn’t help but feel awkward, as if they all were staring at me. I shuffled my way around them and to my designated locker. I got it on orientation day yesterday. I opened it and emptied my buldging bag into the bland locker. I stuck up a picture I drew of my family, and a poster of Minecraft.

I was about to close my locker when the bell rang, I quickly grabed my books for English and off I went. I kept my head down, avoiding everything.

When I arrived, Ms. Cheerilee pulled me aside, saying something about introducing myself to the class. I stood in the front and stared at the ground. “Hi, I’m Button Mash and I’m 8 years old, and I love Video Games.” I looked up and everyone was smiling exept two girls, small for their age, but they looked so much older.

Ms. Cheerlee sent me to sit next to a small girl named Sweetie Belle. Her hair, which was a light pink and purple, like sweet candy, was tangled up, but it looked like she was made for it. She had eyes of a glimmering emerald. I looked over at her to see her staring at me, eyes wide.

I looked down at my book blushing slightly and tried to focus.

When I had sat down at my desk, I only had seconds to bear. I fixed my hair so it didn’t look like I just got out of bed. I forgot to brush my hair so it looked like a big poof of tangles. Ms. Cheerilee was introducing someone to the class but I wasn’t paying attention.

I stared out the window, that is, until a brown-haired boy sat down next to me, interrupting my view.

I saw his eyes glimmer for a split second as they met with mine. And I fell, not in love, I fell into a completely different world were everything was blue, with stars twickling around us.
I stared at him wide-eyed and he blushed a bit as he looked down at his book. I followed suit and tried to focus.

-Sweetie Bell’s POV-

I skipped my way to the auditorium, with Scootaloo and Apple Bloom following behind me. They were unusually quiet, but I wasn’t complaining, I felt on top of the world thinking about- I mean I just felt on top of the world.

Yeah. That’s it.

-Button Mash’s POV-

I sat outside, leaning against the base of a tree. I opened my lunch bag and grabbed my sandwich, when suddenly a girly voice interrupted my epic sandwich eating.

“Oh, look Silver Spoon, it’s another pathetic loser!” One girl with Purple and white hair snickered. I sighed as I put my sandwich away. Silver Spoon spitefully laughed. I stood up, ready to leave. I didn’t want any trouble.

I pushed past the two girls when the purple and white haired girl said, “Just like the crusaders.” And they cackled like witches. I saw red. I didn’t know who the crusaders were, and I didn't care that they teased me, but bringing others into this. That crossed the line.

I spun around, “How DARE you bring others into this!” the two girls were shocked, there jaws hung and the backed away. “I don’t care if you tease me, tease me all you want, but tease others, and I’ll unleash an army of walkers on you.” I was yelling by now.

I calmed down a bit, my vision cleared and I walked off, into the big building and I kept on walking.

I just needed to find somewhere where I could be alone.

-Sweetie Bell’s POV-

I managed to convince Apple Bloom and Scootaloo to audition for the Junior School Play of Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart.

I was hoping I could be the main girl… But we’ll see. It took me 3 full days to convince them about the benefits of auditioning, and they still aren’t fully convinced.

I walk through the auditorium doors and drift through the seemingly endless rows of red cushioned seats down to the edge of the stage. As I walked down the aisle, I let my hand outline the velvet chairs. I loved this room, I felt like it was were I belonged. There I see a small group of children and Rarity and Pinkie Pie.

I grab three scripts and give two to Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. Then the auditions start, I stand up on the stage, the light blinding me for a spilt second, I enter another world and I can’t help but smile. I stand there for what seems like eternity.

Then I start to sing, I sing my song whole-heartedly and at the end, I run off the stage, my heart pounding in my ears and a smile stretching from ear to ear.

I walk up to Rarity who was standing with Apple Bloom and Scootaloo. I opened my mouth to say something, when the auditorium door opens. We all turn to look at who entered, I can’t really see.

Pinkie runs up to the… Him. It’s him… I didn’t think he’d want to audition… I hear everything, but I don’t listen, I don’t comprehend or process.

I sink into a velvet chair, trying to make is so no one can see me unless they're in front of me.

I start to frown as I realize what’s going on. I try to shake it away, but I can’t.

I never really cared about that subject. Friends. Just the word meant nothing to me. Nothing at all... So why on earth would I want one? To me, they are just people who hurt you, by taking your trust and breaking it. And besides, no body really likes me, for me...

That's probably why I played video games. In there, I was the hero, the knight in shining armour; I was popular, and everybody loved me. I was who I always wanted to be, who I always needed to be.

Anyway, I was forced to audition, and I tried my best to do my worst without completely making a fool out of myself, and somehow, I was cast as Jack... Who was in every scene... How in the world did I get myself here?!

-Sweetie Belle's POV-

Wow... He was in the play... Okay, I should probably stop referring him to he... Let me try again, sorry.

Wow... Button was in the play... As main character... Along with me... This was turning out to be a pretty cool and horrible day. See! I make no sense! ALL BECAUSE OF THAT ONE GUY!

Oh, Great! I'm turning into a jerk! WHAT ELSE IS NEW!

Ugh, sorry. Sorry, I shouldn't have done that.

-Button Mash's POV-

As soon as the bell for the end of school rang, I was already at the front doors. I began to walk towards the bus stop, and I sat down on the dusty, rickety bench and pulled out my JoyBoy and began to play. Soon enough, I was emerged in the world of Video Games.

I was about to stab my sword of great justice into the boss, but a loud cough interrupted my trance. I looked up to see Sweetie Bell standing there, smiling awkwardly. I heard the low buzz, meaning I was defeated, and I looked back down at my JoyBoy, hoping it wasn't true, but when I saw the screen and its large words reading GAME OVER. I groaned.

"Oh, Sorry if I interrupted something!" She said hastily. I switched it off, not bothering to restart the level. Sweetie Bell sat down next to me, smiling awkwardly the entire time, and I froze. No one ever really sits next to me. I coughed awkwardly into my sleeve and I didn't know what to do. UGH! I forgot to answer her question! If I answered now, I'd look like an idiot. Why am I so shy all of a sudden?

Girls.

-Sweetie Belle's POV-

He's so awkward... It's kinda cute!

I shuffle on the bench, some random kids were standing around, also waiting for the bus, listening to their IPODS and such. Not casting us a second glance. I smoothed my hair down slightly, hoping he would talk of something. Then the bus rolled up infant of us, it's engine was really loud, and I tried to get on the bus first, but groups of kids overpowered me. I was the last person to get on the loud bus.

I looked around, looking for an empty seat, but there was only one. Next to Button. I awkwardly shuffled down the aisle towards him, and I sat down. I took a small breath, and turned to him.

"What do you like to do?" I said, on the verge of yelling, half from the volume from everyone around us, and half from my scaredness. I couldn't deny it anymore.

I had a crush. A crush on an awkward boy named Button Mash.

God, Rarities gonna flip...

-Button Mash's POV-

Her sudden outburst made me jump. I shuffled around so I was also looking at her, she had twinkling eyes, and her hair was slightly more smooth than it was in the morning.
"I, uh, like Video Games." I said, loud enough for only her to hear.

"Oh, really?! I've never really played them..." She trailed off, but I was't listening. Some one who has 'never really played' video games.

"Are you serious?" I said a bit louder than last time. This caught her off guard, and for a second, she just stared at me. She shook her head slightly, and nodded.

"You've got to try them! They're really cool!" I started to get excited, I guess it's because I love to tell people about Video Games.

-Sweetie Belle's POV-

He looks really cute talking about Video Games.

Gotta concentrate... Got to concentrate... GOT to concentrate...

I caught myself blushing as I thought of how cute he was. I shook my head.

UGH, Rarity... This is your fault.
