Lost: The End Nearsby __Jake101__ChaptersA Bad DreamThe ReturnHeart BrokenDrink Til You're SoberHeart UnbrokenThe Drunken Tales Of Berry PunchQuestionsNear DeathIt Won't End Yet...A Bad DreamI got out of my bed and got dressed. I couldn't get the dream from last night out of my mind. It was just...horrific. There was no way that the dream was coincidental. It meant something was going to happen. Something horrible. I went outside and headed for Lyra's house. She and Bon Bon lived on the complete opposite side of Ponyville from me, so finding her home was easy. I knocked on the door a few times. It opened, and my marefriend welcomed me inside. "Lyra, you know how you talked about you having a nightmare with demons?" She nodded her head. "Yeah...why?" "Well, last night...I had a dream...that...it was just......" "It was just what?" "It was just...horrific. I know that my dream last night was no coincidence...that it meant something....I thought that I should tell you about it.....it could kind of help solve why I am always having evil come my way. I mean, I was attacked by changelings, three times!" She sat down next to me on the couch. "So, tell me about it. What happened?" It was hard for me to explain. It was THAT horrible. "Well, it started like a normal day....waking up in my bed......but after getting my limbs to wake up and after I went outside......the.......the green grass turned barren and blazing with fire.....the sky was, red, like...blood red......there were dead corpses all over Ponyville.......I ran to your house.......and you were there.......dead......on the floor........horn bruised too bad to ever heal............cuts and tears all over your body...............I started crying....the world around me went black........and there was a voice......I asked it what was going on.........and it said....'You'll find out soon enough.....peasant.....' almost as if the voice was implying something horrible was going to happen..." She stared in awe at my story of the dream. "I-I don't know what to say... What do you think is going to happen?" I sighed. "I don't know. All I can hope is for it to not include anyone dying." "Don't you mean 'anypony'?" I facepalmed. "Where I came from, anyone or anybody meant the exact same as anypony. I told you that! Like...a million times!" She giggled. "I know, I know... Just teasing." The area around us started shaking like mad. It stopped quickly, but was followed by the sound of an explosion. We headed outside and looked around. It had came from the Everfree forest. Right behind my house. I ran to my home. When I got there, it was perfectly fine, except Fang was barking at something in the forest. I tried calling him back. "Fang. Fang c'mon. Fang!" He just kept on barking. I looked up at what it was he was barking at. I didn't see anything. Just then, two green glowing eyes appeared from the depths of the dark forest, and a small demonic chuckle came from it's direction. Just as soon as they appeared, the eyes were gone. That voice. It was the same laugh as in my dream! I tried to not think about it and just went back to what I was doing. "Fang. Come on. There's nothing there." The voice returned. "Or so you think..." A Purplish greenish blast came from the forest and hit Fang right in the forehead. He just stared at the forest, not moving a muscle. I walked up to him. "Fang? You alright?" I put my hand onto his back. He turned around and tackled me, knocking me onto my back. "Fang?! What's gotten into you?!" His eyes were green, and he had red iris's instead of his original blue. They were just like the eyes from the forest. I heard a familiar voice. "Fang?! What's going on?! What's wrong with his eyes?!" I looked up. "Lyra! Go! Now!!!" She stood there, dumbfounded. "What's going on?!" "Just go!!!" Before Lyra could even move, Fang tackled her. I got up and pulled on him, trying to pry what was once my best friend off of Lyra. He started biting the air and barking. I concentrated hard, and my body glowed white. I threw Fang into the air off of Lyra behind me. I turned around, and he ran into the forest. I just stood there, trying to figure out what just happened. "Fang..." "He's gone. This must be the start of that horrible thing that's going to happen." I nodded my head. "Yeah...probably............Think we should tell Twilight?" "Well duh! We obviously can't handle this by ourselves! Didn't you see what happened to Fang?!" "Well duh! Didn't you see that he was trying to kill us?!" She facehoofed. "Let's just go." We now had made our way to the giant library that Twilight lived in. I knocked on the door. It opened, revealing the small purple dragon. "Hey Roe, whattsup?" "Is Twilight here? We have something important to tell her." He turned around and yelled. "Twilight! You have visitors!" Spike welcomed us inside as Twilight came down from some stairs. "Oh, hey Roe! Hey Lyra! Whattsup?" "We have something important to tell you." I said as Spike closed the door. Lyra started reading about ancient legends in some of Twilights books while I got ready to tell her what happened. "Okay, so last night, I had this dream, well, more of a nightmare, and I know that it isn't coincidental. It was just....horrific........like......like my worst fear coming to life........and at the end.........there was a strange voice that spoke to me......saying that I will learn soon enough about what was going on. I saw two eyes and heard the voice come from the Everfree forest behind my house, and it sounded just like the voice from my dream. It had a purplish greenish magic that turned Fang against me, and he tried to kill me and Lyra." Lyra looked up from one of her books and yelled out. "I think I know what it is! It must be a Windigo!" "Twilight facehoofed. "Windigos don't exist! They disappeared long ago!" "Oh. Well then...back to searching!" Lyra stuck her face back into the book, scanning every beast she found. The purple mare turned back to me. "So, did you see anything distinctive about the eyes? Describe them." "They were green, with a red iris...and a pupil shaped like a cat's." "Anything else?" "Well, come to think of it...there were weird purple strands coming from the eyes....and a faint red glow from above the middle of the eyes, almost as if it was like a horn, surging with power." She then grew worried. "Oh no. Oh no no no no no no no! This is bad! Very bad! We have to alert Princess Celestia and the others, especially Cadence!" "Ah ha! I found it! The beast is...........an enchanted manticore!" Lyra seemed happy for a moment. "NO! This is much worse than an enchanted manticore! This is much worse!" "Dang It!!! I thought I had it!" Lyra slammed the book shut and set ip back into it's position. I was getting extremely worried. "Twilight? What's wrong? What is going on? Why is it so important that we need to warn the princesses?" "I'll explain everything later after we get there. We need to go NOW!!!" The ReturnWe were all teleported just outside the Canterlot Palace and rushed inside. As we ran down the halls, an image of the green eyes from before flashed in my head, and a massive headache came out of nowhere, causing me to lose my balance and almost fall. Lyra ran up to me. "Roe, what's wrong?" "Nothing. Just a headache." Twilight got suspicious. "Headaches don't just spring up out of nowhere. Are you sure you're alr-" "I'm fine! I'm okay. Let's just go." We continued going down the hallways, with Lyra next to my side in case I got another 'random headache' again. We finally reached Princess Celestia and Princess Luna's throne room. After bowing down, Twilight brought it up. "Princess Celestia...I have some terrible news. It seems as if that King Sombra was never really killed. Roe claims to have seen him, or his eyes and horn at least, in the Everfree forest." "I also had a horrific and gory nightmare last night, and it had HIS voice in it. Also, who's King Sombra?" Celestia got off of her throne and stood in the middle of the room. "King Sombra is an evil unicorn that used to rule over the Crystal Empire. He made the citizens of the empire his slaves, and brought hatred to all in the kingdom. Me and my sister, Princess Luna, had banished him long ago. He survived though, and attacked the Crystal Empire a few months before you had arrived. We thought we had killed him for good....but it seems as if we were wrong." "Has he hypnotized anypony yet?" Princess Luna asked. "He cast some sort of spell over my companion, Fang, and made him almost kill me and Lyra. He ran off into the Everfree forest afterwards." I said. Two guards rushed in through the doors. "Princess, two citizens of Ponyville claimed to have seen a nightmarish looking creature in the Everfree forest! one of them claims that there were three of them, and one of them turned against them and ran deeper into the forest after the creature fired a purple and green beam of magic at one!" Celestia just stared at them for a moment. "Send a message to Princess Cadence and Shining Armor to come here as soon as possible." The guards nodded their heads and ran back out the doors. Princess Celestia looked back at us. "You three, make sure that nopony enters the Everfree forest until we have dealt with King Sombra, but don't tell anypony about his return. Just tell them that there is a dangerous beast in the forest, and that nopony is allowed inside the forest without proper authority." "Can I tell the other elements about him?" Twilight asked. The two princesses exchanged looks. "Fine. But make sure they don't tell anypony." The younger princess said. We all promised not to tell anyone about him. After heading outside, I had another image of those eyes in my head again, giving me a bigger headache. The thing that was different though, was that this image was longer, about three seconds. I fell down from the sudden pain that had shot through my head. Lyra helped me up and Twilight grew even more suspicious. "Are you one hundred percent sure that you're fine? You don't look well at all." "I'm fine Twilight! There is nothing wrong with- AAAARRGH!!!!!!" Another image flashed in my head again, same one as before, but this time much more menacing, much more pain, and much more instant. A voice filled the area around us. It was his. "Your pathetic. You are one of the most powerful beings in Equestria, yet you can't barely handle a small headache, so how do you think that you could stop me? Worthless. I should have killed you when I had the chance." "Where are you?! Come out and fight me like a man, or, a...uhm...a...a stallion? I don't know, just show yourself!" I retorted as I grabbed my katana and concentrated hard, enveloping myself with a white glow. "Oh look. Little Roe here is trying to act tough...how cute..." The area around us went dark as black smoke of some sort seeped in through the woods. We all ran out of the smoke and ran into the forest, barely being able to see which direction we were going. When we all escaped the smoke, we were just outside the entrance to Ponyville. We were all confused, but it was starting to get late. Twilight went to go tell the rest of the elements while me and Lyra just went to get some rest. After I got home, I took off my belt and katana and placed it in it's usual spot, on a small rack next to the door. I went upstairs and plopped into bed with my clothes on. Pretty soon, I had fallen asleep. I woke up in my bed. To make sure this was a dream, I pinched myself. Yup, definitely a dream. "Alright Sombra. What do you have in store for me today?" Just then, I realized something. This must be a lucid dream. I just pinched myself, and felt nothing. I got up and went downstairs. Something weird was going on though. The stairs didn't seem to end. "What is up with all of these stairs? Is he obsessed with them or something? Maybe he isn't really in here." The steps and walls behind me started to collapse into nothingness as two green eyes were coming my way from the black abyss behind me. I frantically ran down the stairs as every step I took left blackness and the eyes got closer and closer. However, I quickly realized that running straight ahead wasn't such a good idea. The walls and steps in front of me started to collapse as well, leaving only black nothingness where there were once stairs. Pretty soon, the steps under me collapsed and I fell down. Falling. Falling. Still falling. I looked around, which seemed stupid since it was only blackness around me. I found a mint colored object falling from far away to my right. I looked down again, and found leaves getting close. I flew right through the leaves and landed in a small clearing. I was in a forest. "Alright, guess that this isn't completely a lucid dream after all." I looked around. All I saw were trees, leaves, branches, and more tree related things. Walking around, I heard a familiar scream. "Lyra?! Lyra!" I started to sprint throughout the forest, trying to find the source of the scream. I had managed to find a dirt path leading to some bushes, and decided to take that, since it was way easier than trying to run through a dense forest. Before I can even reach the end of the trail, Lyra runs my way from the foliage with a look of sheer terror on her face. "Lyra? What's going on?" She stops in her tracks. "Roe? Are you real? Are we both dreaming at the same time? I feel like we're both dreaming! Oh, and also, do you have your katana with you, because I'M BEING CHASED BY A SCARY SHADOW MONSTER THING THAT I AM PRETTY SURE IS KING SOMBRA!!!!!!!!" "Correct......Lyra Heartstrings........" The voice returns. "Your lucky this is only a dream........because if it wasn't......you would all be dead." The area around us disappeared as three large boulders fell behind me and to our right and left, leaving only one way to go. The large black smoky beast seeped in through the bush and headed down the path. The world started to shake like mad. I woke up. Sitting upright in my bed, I started thinking of what just happened. "Me and Lyra were both in each others dreams? How? Can that kind of stuff happen here?" I just brushed off the thought as a coincidence and went downstairs to finally try some cereal I had bought about a week ago. 'Wheat Flakes' I think is what it's called? I tried a small bowl. It tasted.....wheatyish. I knew that we had to stop King Sombra at all costs. I started thinking on what we should do later while eating my cereal. Heart BrokenJust then, I heard a knock on my door followed by the voice of a mint green colored mare. "Roe? Hey, Roe, you in there?" I put my bowl in the sink and opened the door. "Nope. Sorry. Roe isn't here. Come back sometime later. Good bye." I pretended to close the door but quickly opened it again. "So, whattsup Lyra?" "Ha ha, very funny. Anyways, Bon Bon went to Fillydelphia for a family reunion, so I was wondering if we could maybe spend the day together?" I put my hand on my chin. "I'm not sure. Let me check my schedule." I closed the door for a few seconds and opened it again. "Oooh, sorry. It seems that I'm already busy with something." "What are you busy with?" "Talking to you when we should be spending the day together! C'mon, let's go!" I burst out the door, pushing Lyra to the side in the process, heading to the river just ahead of my house while Lyra chased after yelling, "That wasn't very funny! Wait up!" By the time I had made it to the river, Lyra was sitting on the bridge waving at me. "Hey, what took you so long?" "You, huff, che-huff-cheated." I said between breaths. She tugged on my sleeve with her magic. "Hey, I wanna show ya something." I followed after her, still panting as she seemed to not be tired at all. "Hey, Lyra? Do you think you could use that one spell to, huff, make me not exhausted anymore?" "Hmm, lemme think. No!" She yelled while giggling. I collapsed on the ground. "I think we should just rest for a moment." "We're here! Get up lazybones!" She lifted me up with her telekinesis. I looked up. In front of us was a ginormous waterfall that seemed to be glistening as it poured into a large, crystal clear pond. Only four words escaped my lips as I took in the sight. "Wow. This is...beautiful..." She sat down under a tree nearby. "I know. My dad always took me to this place when I was a filly. Every time before we left, we would just sit under this tree........or.......was it that tree?" She pointed to a tree on the opposite side of the pond. "No...it was this tree...I think.....yeah. I'm pretty sure it was this tree." I sat down next to her. "Does anyone else know about this place?" "Yeah. Bon Bon, Ditzy, Colgate, Carrot Top, Amethyst Star, and Berry Punch. We all visited this place when ever we just got bored." "Hey, isn't Berry Punch the purple mare with wavy mane and tail?" She nodded. "Yeah, why?" "Well, she thought that I was a cute fluffy bunny and put me in a burlap sack, dragging me to her house and putting me in a cage a couple weeks ago." Lyra tried to hold back the immense wave of laughter that was taking over, but failed at holding it in. "That isn't even the craziest thing she has done when she was drunk! Hahahahaa!!! I can haaarrrhhhhhhd-wheeze-hardly breathe! Hahahahahhahahahaaa!!!!!!!" She stopped laughing pretty soon. We spent hours there having fun, talking, laughing. By the time the sun started to go down, a yellow earth pony mare with an orange mane and tail came out of the bushes with a basket of carrots in her mouth. She set them down and waved at us. "Oh, hey Lyra and...Roe..." She stretched my name out when she said it, but I thought nothing of it. Lyra got up and waved back. "Hey Carrot Top! Watchya doing here?" "Oh, nothing. I just got tired from carrying these carrots all day and decided to just sit here for a while, get my strength back up." She walked towards us and set her basket down nearby a bush beside the tree. "So, why is he here?" I sat up. "Is that supposed to be an insult?" She shook her head. "Nonono! I was just curious why you were here." "We were just spending the day together, me and Roe." She nodded her head. "So, you two are......." We both replied in unison saying "Yes, we are." Me and Lyra looked at each other and burst into laughter. After a few moments, Lyra got up with an 'Oh-dang It-I-forgot-something' face. "Oh no! I forgot something! I'll be right back!" And with that, Lyra had teleported away. Carrot Top scooted a bit closer to me. "So...it's just you..." She placed a hoof on my chest. "And me...alone...." "Um.....you do know that I have a girl- err marefriend, right? And that my marefriend is Lyra, right?" She placed a hoof on my mouth. "Hush...I want this to be great...don't ruin this moment......." She removed her hoof. Before I could react, she pressed her lips against mine. I tried pushing the mare off, but she had my arms and legs pinned down, disabling all movement. I tried to stop her before Lyra came back, but she just kept pushing her lips harder onto mine. A bright flash of light came from behind Carrot Top, and my marefriend dropped a small wrapped present onto the ground. Carrot Top got off of me and picked up her basket, galloping away as fast as she could. Tears were forming in Lyra's eyes. I got up and tried to move closer to her, but she rejected. "No! Go away! How about you just go ahead and make out with all of my friends, see if I care! Just get out of my life! I can't believe you cheated on me with one of my closest friends!" "No, Lyra, it wasn't what it looked like! She kiss-" "NO! I don't want to hear it! If you like Carrot Top more than me, then by all means, just go ahead and ruin my life some more! I can't believe you!" "Lyra, just listen to me! She-" "NO! I already said I don't want to hear it! GO AWAY.......NOW!!! And take your stupid present!!!" She stomped on the box with her hoof and threw it to me. Drink Til You're SoberTHE NEXT DAY I woke up, not feeling as happy as I should. It had been a day since me and Lyra broke up, and it was all because of Carrot Top. It had been only a day, and my house was a complete mess. I had glass mugs everywhere, with cider spilled all over the table and counters. I didn't want to do anything really, except just drink and wallow inside my home until I felt better, which I knew would be never. My day was going bad already, but it was about to get a whole lot worse. I heard a knock at my door. "Coommme innnn....." I slurred. The door opened, and Carrot Top walked inside. "So, now that Lyra's out of the way...how's about you and me-" I threw a mug at her. "I don't wants nothing t'do with ya! Ya ruined mah life by takings away mah girl and kissing my's own face in front of her!" "Well, now that you're single-" "I says I don't wants nothin t'do with ya ya she devil! I don't like ya! I like Lyra! But since ya took her away...imma just.....imma just gonna.......what was's it thats me was gonna do?" I was very drunk. The mare just kept on flirting with me. "You were going to kiss me and tell me how much you love me?" I threw another mug at her. "NO!!! I DON'TS WANTS ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU!!! JUST GET OUT BEFORE I GET THE KATA- katan kattanana? The swordy thing! BEFORE I GET THE SWORDY THING INVOLVED WITH THIS!!! AND IF YA DON'T LEAVE....I'll get the guards and tell them that I has a intruuuuuduurrrrr..........." I fell down on the table, face first, unconscious. I woke up again in a bed in an unfamiliar room. Getting out of the bed, which was very soft, I looked around. A door, a window with closed curtains, a nightstand with a lamp and pictures. It was too dark to see the pictures, so I opened the curtains. letting the sunlight inside. I looked at the pictures. Rage took over. I ripped open the door and stomped down the stairs. I looked around for a door or an exit of some sort. There was a door, but it was nailed shut, and so were the windows. I heard the same voice of the mare who ruined my life. "Morning sweetie!" I turned around. "You......You ruined my life.....kidnapped me.....and now you're calling me 'sweetie'?! What's your deal?! I don't want anything to do with you! I just want to be alone, without you!!!" She took a few steps closer. "Well, now we can be alone...together..." "Just get it through your damn mind!!! I don't like you! I don't want to be with you! I never want to be with you! I never have wanted to be with you, and I never will want to be with you, so just let me go, and stay away from me before I do something that will make you regret the day you were even born!!!" "There isn't anything you could do to make me regret anything, hon." I facepalmed. "Why do you keep flirting with me?!" She came closer to me, only a few feet away. "Because I love you, and you need to learn to love me too! So, let's start over, okay? Hi there, I'm Carrot Top! Would you like to buck me?" "Alright, that's it!" I kicked the door several times until it finally opened. Right when it burst open, I ran out as fast as could. As I ran, I could hear Carrot Top yelling out, "I will get you, and you will love me Roe!!!!!" What the frick is wrong with that mare?! I don't like her! She just can't get it through her dang head! By the time I reached my house, the affects of my hangover were kicking in. I slugged over to the bathtub and took a nice cold shower. I didn't like taking cold showers very often, but since I heard they help with hangovers, I decided to try it out. It worked, and by the time I got out of the shower and got dressed, there was another knock at my door. I grabbed my katana and yelled, "Who is it?" "It's Bon Bon! I need to talk to you, like, right now!" I set the katana back into it's place and opened the door. "What is it Bon Bon? I need to get back to wallowing in shame." "Why?" "Why what?" "Why did you do it?" "I didn't kiss Carrot Top! I tried explaining to her that Lyra was already my marefriend, but she wouldn't listen, and kissed me! And earlier today, she kidnapped me and locked me in her house when I blacked out from being so drunk! The mare's crazy!" She just raised an eyebrow. "Fine! Don't believe me! See if I care!" I grabbed a bottle of wine which I can't remember buying. "I guess I'll just live the rest of my life drinking and wallowing in shame alone under this roof while King Sombra destroys Ponyville!" She froze. "Did you say King Sombra?" "Well duh! Of course I said..." FUCKING DRUNKEN BRAIN!!! "You can't tell anyone! NOBODY CAN HEAR!!!!" She nodded her head. I sat down on the couch started chugging down the bottle of wine. I heard the door close and saw Bon Bon sitting next to me. "Why ya still here? You obviously don't believe me and think I would actually cheat on Lyra, right?" "I'm not saying that I don't believe you...it's just.....I can't believe that Carrot Top would actually do that." "So you don't believe me?" "Well, I do...but I don't believe that she would do that." "So you do believe me, or you don't, because it sounds like you're saying both." "I....I just.......I need to go find Carrot Top." She said as she left for the door. "Be careful! The mare's crazy!" She had already left, but my drunken mind had me say it anyways. I just sat there, drinking the alcohol, wallowing in my shame once again, waiting until somehow my life does get better. Heart UnbrokenI woke up on my couch, which had glass mugs and bottles with alcohol spilling out surrounding it. There was some knocking at the door. I got up and slugged my way over to the door, opening it. "What do ya want?" There stood Bon Bon. "I believe you. I did manage to get Carrot Top to confess." "How?" "I have my ways." She said with an evil grin. "Bon Bon?! Untie me right now!" "Not until you tell me if you kissed Roe and kidnapped him when he was drunk!" "Never!" "Tell me or else I'm going to go get the bat!" "GASP...you wouldn't!" "Oh would I?" "Alright Alright I did kiss him and kidnap him when he blacked out from being so drunk! Just get that repulsive little rodent away from me!" "Good. See ya!" "Bon Bon? You uhm... you forgot to untie me...hehe....y-you're coming back to untie me...r-right? Right? AAAAAAAAH SOMEPONY GET THIS BAT AWAY FROM ME AAAAAAAAHHH AGH NO IT'S IN MY MANE SOMEPONY HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I stood there for a moment. "Oookaaay.........so......how am I going to be able to tell Lyra? She hates me right now, and I don't think she would listen to you very well either." "I'm not sure. The least we could do is try. Let's go. I can't stand her constant crying anymore." She turned around, but stopped as she looked back at me. "You coming?" "Yeah...but I think I should tell her when I don't smell like I've been hanging out at a bar for my entire life." "oh....yeah......that seems like a good idea......" I headed to the shower and took a warm shower instead. After a couple minutes, I got out and got dressed. We went to Bon Bon's house, but while Bon Bon went inside Lyra's room, I had to stay in the hallway until Bon Bon said so. About a minute passed before Bon Bon came back out. "Alright, don't do anything to upset her. I managed to calm her down enough so she'll let you in and listen to you....but I didn't tell her that you were coming. Just saying." She whispered. I nodded and slowly opened the door and took a step inside. "Lyra? I need to talk t-" She held up a hoof. "Stop. Before you start, I don't want any melodramatic things going on. So just get straight to the point. And tell the truth." I stammered a bit. "Lyra...I didn't kiss Carrot Top because I like her more than you. She kissed me, even though I explained to her about you already being my marefriend. Earlier today, she kidnapped me when I blacked out from...being....drunk." "Hold on. Were you wallowing in shame while being surrounded by alcohol?" "Uhhmmm......yes?" She giggled a bit. "Thought so. Go on." "Well...she kidnapped me and kept flirting with me. After I ran out of her house, she started yelling that she will get me to love her! She's insane!" "Not something I expected from Carrot Top, but seeing as she has never had a coltfriend all her life...I see how she would be jealous of me, and tried to break us up so she could have you." She tapped the side of her bed. "C'mon. Sit down. That's what coltfriend and marefriend do...right? I smiled and sat down next to her. Wrapping an arm around her shoulder, I replied with the most obvious answer. "Right." "Well.........if you really are my coltfriend......prove it." "Wh-wha......how?" She stared at me. "Prove it." "I-I don't know how. Am I supposed to say I love you or-" She put a hoof to my lips. "Prove it." I didn't know how I was supposed to prove it to her. And idea came to mind. I wrapped my arm around her head and pulled Lyra in close to my face, pressing my lips against hers. She wrapped her hooves around my neck and pushed into the kiss as well. It felt really good. I didn't really want to stop, but my wants were crushed as the door swung open and Bon Bon came inside. "Hey, Lyra, somepony is here to see........." We just stared at each other, the awkwardness building up. Bon Bon slowly backed out of the room. "I'll just......tell her that your busy at the moment. You two...go back to whatever it was hat you were doing...hehe.....buh bye!" She slammed the door shut. The sound of hoofsteps could be heard throughout the room, even with the door closed. I was he first to break the silence. "Well....that was awkward...." Lyra just slowly nodded before speaking. "Why does it seem that Bon Bon is always ruining our moments together? I'm not being rude, it's just that she has ruined two very good moments." "One very good moment." I corrected. I pulled her in close and nuzzled her a bit. "So...does this prove-" "Yes...It does..." The Drunken Tales Of Berry PunchWe went to the living room to see who wanted to see Lyra. We saw Bon Bon listening to the story of a purple mare with a wavy pruple mane and tail. "So then he grabbed the hic stick and swung it at.....swung it at.....what did he swing it hic at? Oh, yeah! He swuung it at a hic bee's nest! But then he hic missed and hit me in the face! And that's how I got this hic black eye!" "Uhm..." Bon Bon said after the stroy " .............................hic.......................................................................wait.......what were we talking about again? Oh, yeah! I hic remember! We were talking about how Neon Lights gave hic this black eye! So It started hic last night when-" Bon Bon put a hoof over the mare's mouth. "I would love to hear it, but Lyra's here! What did you need her for?" The purple mare, which I remember to be named Berry Punch, just stared at me. Her right eye seemed swollen and black. "Hey, hic I know who you is! You're that cute fluffy bunny! Why'd you run away? I was about to gives ya some carhicrots, but you ran away from me!" I facepalmed. "That's because I'm not a cute fluffy bunny! I'm the only human in Equestria! Roe! Ever heard of me? I think it would be hard to mistake me for a bunny." Lyra punched my side. "Yeah. That's Berry for you! So, Berry why did you need me?" "I've have gots to tell you a funny story about me hic getting this black eye! Sit down! This is a hic heck of a story! Okay, so it was just me and Neon Lights just going to a bar for some dr-hic drinks... "I need to know! Do you or do you not like grapes?" "Burry-" "Berry" Berry corrected. "Shut up. I wouldn't have liked grapes if I wasn't drinking this wine right now!" "Yeah I guess hic you're right." The purple mare said as she took another swig from her mug of beer. "I'm bored." Neon yelled as he threw his bottle behind him, hitting somepony in the process. The stallion yelled at Neon. "I's a going to have my lawyer put you in a lawsuit!" "OH SHUT UP! JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A LAWYER DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN BE BETTER THAN ME!!! WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUDGE MAN?!" The two got in each others face, snorting at each other. A crowd gathered around the two, chanting 'Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!'. The two stallions both took the first move, each swatting their hooves in each others direction. A random drunken mare yelled out, "AW YEAH SISSY FIGHT!!!" before collapsing on the ground unconscious. They kept swatting at each other until the other stallion hit Neon's glasses, causing them to fly into the air until they hit the concrete floor. Shattering into two, each lens was still intact but separated from each other. Neon moved over to his glasses, tears forming in his eyes. He slowly turned around, glaring at the other stallion. "You...what have you done? You broke my glasses! Do you realize how much those costed?! They costed twenty two bits! Now you're a gonna pay for it!" Just then, Neon swung a hoof at the stallion, knocking him out cold. Berry Punch and Neon Lights both ran out the bar, laughing for no apparent reason. Neon heard a weird buzzing noise that was driving him crazy. "Where the heck is that buzzing noise coming from?! I can't stand it anymore! Burry-" "Berry!" "Shut up. Find me a stick!" The purple mare grabbed a large stick, more of a branch, and gave it to the drunk stallion. "Now help me find the where'bouts of the buzzin noise. I can't stand it anymore! Wait...did I already say that?" Berry put a hoof to her chin. "I can't remember. I thinks the noise is comings from that weird tree tumor ovurrr therrrre....." She almost collapsed, but managed to catch herself again. "Huh? What's going-...oh right. It's coming from that weird tree tumor." "That's no tree tumor! It's a wasps nest!" Neon yelled, mistaking the bee hive for a wasps nest. Neon had forgotten that he was a unicorn, so he picked up the stick and swung at the bee hive with the stick in his mouth. He missed badly and ended up hitting Berry Punch's right eye. The two fell asleep under the tree. When they woke up, they just went about their day as they normally would. Neon going to work on creating some dubtrot with some friends, and Berry going back to the bar. "...and that's how I got this hic black eye!" There was a long pause. "hic" Just then, Berry Punch fell off of the couch, hitting the floor with a loud thud. Lyra helped her up, but things started to get weird. Berry started stroking the side of Lyra's mane. "Your hic mane feels soft. Did I-hic I ever tell you that your mane is s-hic soft? You're like my hic bestest friend." Lyra moved back a little, just far enough so Berry was out of reach. She kept stroking though, thinking she was feeling the unicorns mane and kept on repeating, "It's so soft." Berry looked up above me and went wide eyed. "Aw crap! I've gotta hic go pick up Berryshine frome hic school in a few hic minutes! See ya la-hic later Lyra, Bon Bon, and cute fluffy bunny!" She wobbled out the door, still repeating, "Her mane felt soooooo soft." There was an awkward silence. "Welp....that happened." I said as I sat down in a chair on the opposite side of the room. "Is she always like that?" Bon Bon nodded her head. "I'm surprised on how she doesn't ever feel the effects of a hangover anymore. She has been drinking for such a long time, you'd think that she wouldn't even be able to make it from her bed to her doorstep from being so drunk." We just sat there discussing random topics that just happened to pop up randomly for the rest of the day. Questions Just as I was about to head out for the night and go back home, I was stopped by my marefriend. "Woah, woah WOAH! You can't go out there!" Her voice lowered to a whisper. "What if he gets you? I can't risk that!" "I can hear you, you know. Also, he kind of told me about him while he was drunk earlier today." Bon Bon remarked. I looked back at her. "Partially drunk! I was somewhat sober. Right?" She shook her head 'no'. I sighed. "Fine. I'll stay here for the night." Lyra beamed. "Great! We have a guest room down the hall that you could sleep in. It's the room on the left farthest down." "Or just the room on the left, since it's the only room on the left of the hallway there." Bon Bon said. "It's not the best, but it's a pretty decent room by most guest room standards." I went to go and check it out. I don't know what they meant by 'It's not the best, but it's pretty decent by most guest room standards', because there was a king sized bed inside with a window on the right side of the bed, facing the direction that all of those markets were in. It was simply stunning. So amazing, that I started to question what she meant by 'pretty decent'. I looked over at Bon Bon, who's mouth was also agape. "Lyra? What happened to the bed that used to be in here?!" "Oh, that thing? I put it in the attic since it had bugs an mice crawling all over it, and the cheapest bed I could find available was this. Besides, it's the same size as our bed. Not much different." Lyra hopped on the bed and laid down on her back. "And it's just as comfy as the one in our room. Also, wouldn't you rather sleep in a bed like this, Roe?" I shrugged. "I guess...but it just seems like a bit excessive for a guest room." "How expensive was that bed?" Bon Bon went over to take a closer look at the bed. "It looks pretty expensive." "Only five hundred bits." Bon Bon froze. "O-on- only five hun- hundr- b-bit-s....." "Nah, I'm just kidding. That was the original price for it, but it went down to two hundred bits. Seems very cheap for a bed like this though." I went over and sat down on the bed. "No kidding." Just as I laid down on my back next to Lyra, a low growl coming from my stomach filled the room. Bon Bon got up and walked outside the room. "Guess I should start making dinner. What would you like?" I just shrugged. "I dunno. Anything that tastes good and isn't broccoli. I can't stand broccoli." She rolled her eyes as she left for the kitchen. I turned my head to Lyra. "Are you sure you didn't want me to leave is because you wanted me to spend some more time here with you?" She blushed. "Aw...how'd you know?" "Seems very obvious. Sombra wouldn't just go out in the open. He would get caught and killed on sight if he wandered out at night. Don't you remember that the elements are out making sure he doesn't get into Ponyville without being seen? I'm sure Rainbowdash would warn everyone right away if she found any sight of him in Ponyville." "Yeah...seems pretty stupid. If you knew why I wanted you to not leave, then why did you stay?" "Because I couldn't just go ahead and leave my marefriend if she wanted me to stay. That would be just plain rude, and I'm anything but rude to my friends....and especially you." I said while stroking her mane. "Berry was right. Your mane is soft!" Lyra started laughing."Oh, shut up!" She said as she lightly punched my side. A FEW HOURS LATER I headed into the guest room, stomach completely full. "That's the first time I've ever had steamed carrots that tasted like steamed carrots and not dirt!" I yelled out to Bon Bon, who was cleaning the dishes from the dinner she cooked. "I have a way of making bad food taste good. Hey, maybe I could make some broccoli that you'll enjoy!" "Not in a million years! G'night!" I laughed as I opened the door to the guest room. Entering the room, I closed the door almost completely, leaving a small crack open, and took off my shirt. I climbed into bed and got ready to turn off the lamp, which was the only source of light in the room. As I was ready to turn it off, Lyra opened the door. "Oh good, you're still awake. I was just wondering if-" "Yes, you may." I chuckled, knowing what she was going to ask. She hopped into the bed and brushed up against my arm. I turned off the light and shifted into a position so that we both faced each other. She snuggled up into my bare chest as I wrapped my arms around her. "Your coat is so warm." She said as she nuzzled my chest. I chuckled. "That's because it's not a coat. It's bare skin." "Oh." She looked up into my eyes. "No goodnight kiss?" She was now making adorable puppy eyes. I couldn't not do it. I lightly kissed her forehead and said goodnight. She said goodnight as well. Pretty soon, she had fallen asleep. As I started to drift off into sleep, I mumbled these words. "What do you have in store for me now sombra... I was in a pitch black place once again. I looked around. "Hello? Anybody here?" I was greeted by his voice. "Welcome back.........don't get comfy to comfy with me being in the Everfree.......I am coming.........all of your questions will be answered........but you won't have much use for them..........spend as much time as you can with her..........you don't have very long til I come..............Rolland......" That name. It sounded very familiar. Wait a minute. Rolland. Rolland. Rolland. I...I remember now. My full name is Rolland Eli Gardner. One step closer to remembering my past. Rolland Eli Gardner. I like that. Not as much as I like Roe. Much shorter than Rolland, and sounded better. "Wait! What do you mean that my answers won't matter very much?" My time was up as the world around me shook violently. I awoke to darkness. I felt Lyra's soft coat up against me, and felt the gentle motion of her breathing. I thought about what he said. He said that I wouldn't have very much time. I knew what he meant by that. He was coming. King Sombra was coming. But a few big questions were left unanswered. Why me? Why is he coming for me? How does he know my full name? What was he going to do after he had came? Was he going to kill me, enslave me, absorb my power, hold me hostage for ransom, what? What was going on here? Why am I included in all of this? Why me? Why? Why? Near DeathNEXT MORNING The next morning, I was alone in the bed. I got up and put on my shirt. Walking out of the room, something felt out of place. The house was too...quiet. "Lyra? Bon Bon? You guys, err, gals, here? Hello?" Nothing. "Where are they?" I asked myself. I went outside. It was bright, seemed to be around noon, yet no pony in sight, nor any noise. I pinched my arm, wincing as I realized I pinched it too hard. Awake. The area around me became dark as huge, charcoal clouds hovered into view. "Ah, shit! I thought pegasi said the skies were supposed to be clear for the next few weeks?" I trudged through the empty, soaking wet streets of Ponyville, wondering where the heck everybody went as a light fog rolled in. If this was one of Pinky Pie's parties for me, then she would leave at least ONE pony to guide me to the party. Scratch that option off the list. Was it some holiday I don't know about? Most likely not. It was about ten minutes of walking before I saw something very out of place. The ground had jet black streaks in it, leading to a large crystal of the same color bursting out of the ground. More crystals started bursting out of the ground all around me. I heard a small chuckle from behind me. A very familiar chuckle. His chuckle. I ran as fast as my legs could carry, just barely dodging crystals sprouting up from the earth beneath me. Pretty soon, I had made it to my home. The crystals stopped coming after I crossed that bridge to my house. I had to get to my katana. I rummaged throughout the house, throwing bottles, books, and other miscellaneous items. Nothing. I didn't stop, however, until the he spoke. "Looking for this?" Turning around, the katana was jammed into my left shoulder, going through and jamming into the wall behind as a large shadowy figure cornered me while I screamed in agony. "I've been waiting for this moment..." It said. The two green eyes flashed in front of me, and everything went black. I awoke again in a dark cave, gasping for air. My shoulder felt fine, and my katana was a few feet away from me, jammed into the ground. The place was littered with green crystals, and Queen Chrysalis was standing a few feet away. I growled. "You...why won't you die?!" I got up and reached for the katana, but not before she blew up into a black smoke and th crystals turned black. "What the?!" "HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! You seriously thought that it was her? She died from starvation long before you even came to this world! They were clones...all of them clones. I created those mutant timberwolves too. They were all to make sure you die! Hehehe....Enough talk. Let's get straight to the point. You're no hero. You've never killed a true threat. You've never killed a true villain. And now....you...will......DIE!!!" The black fog flew in from all the crystals, and swirled around like mad. His eyes were glowing from the cyclone, and staring directly at me. The cyclone of black smoke calmed down, and a black unicorn with green eyes with purple strands flowing from the corners, an armor of some sort, and a long red horn that was black as his coat at the base. He smirked evilly. "You should know me. For I am King Sombra! Once ruler of the Crystal Empire! And your doom.....as well as the doom of your friend.....Lyra is it?" He started to slowly walked forward. "Oh...yes it was Lyra. She kept babbling on about how you were going to save her and everypony else. Ugh, she was such a nuisance, but luckily I had dealt with her." I yanked the katana out of the ground, my trademark white glow appearing. "What did you do with Lyra?!?!" His horn lit up as a beam shot at my chest. The pain was intense. My white glow faded away and seemed to get sucked into the beam and traveled to Sombra. After he was done firing, I felt drained, weak. I felt like that all the strength in my body had been sucked out. So weak, I fell to the ground, dropping the katana a few feet away. Sudden pain struck through my back as King Sombra stomped on it and dug his hoof in. "How does it feel to have your magic taken away?" He reached for my katana blade and picked it up in his mouth. After a couple seconds, he thrust the katana into my left shoulder. "I healed your shoulder, thinking that you'd be stronger with it fixed, yet here I am, injuring it again." He mocked. The katana was now slashing back and forth inside my shoulder, tearing it to the point of no repair. I was now yelling at the top of my lungs from the intense pain. It was unbearable. I was feeling weaker than ever from the blood loss. I thought that I was dead. I thought that right here, right now, I would die, and King Sombra would win. The world started to fade. Everything was now a blur. All that I could see was a white, and pink blur fighting a black blur, firing beams of magic at it. It took me a while to realize that Sombra had stopped mauling my shoulder and was fighting the two other blurred objects. I was then flipped onto my back and lifted into the air. All that I could make out was a dark blue figure in front of me, with the three other blurs still fighting. My eyes slowly started closing, and I heard a faint call, yelling, "No! No, Roe! Don't die! Stay Awake! No! No! No! No!" "No!" It Won't End Yet...My eyes slowly opened. My chest was soaking wet. Looking around the room, I found myself hooked up to some kind of heart monitor, in a hospital bed, with Lyra sobbing in my chest. I looked over to my left arm. It was covered in bandages and hooked up to a machine of some sort. I started to stroke her mane. She slowly looked up. "Hey, Lyra." I said with a smile. She didn't respond. Instead, she threw her hooves around me and started crying hard, squeezing the air out of me. "L-Lyra.....c-an't.......breathe..." She let go of me and stared straight into my eyes. "Hey...shh...don't cry." I started stroking her mane. "I'm alright, see? Hey, Lyra?" "Yeah?" "How long have I been out?" she rubbed her left eye with her hoof. "About a-sniff week. You almost sniff died by the time th-sniff-the time Luna had gotten he-sniff-here." So it was Luna that lifted me into the air. "So, what's the news about Sombra?" "Celestia and sniff Cadence almost got h-sniff-him but he escaped. Th-sniff-They rescued us afterwards. H-he had us held in a pr-prison of some sniff sort in a c-c-cave. It w-was j-just....sniff...just horrifii-iiiic!" She threw herself back into the embrace, tears pouring down from her eyes. I just stroked her mane. He was still out there. He would be back. I had no powers. I was just a normal human being now. The elements couldn't defeat him alone. He's too strong. I've heard the story of how he was first defeated. He wouldn't make a stupid mistake like that again. "Wait, where's Fang? Is Fang alright?" "He's fine." I looked up. Princess Luna was there with Fang beside her. He jumped onto me and started licking my face. When I managed to get him to calm down, he curled up and laid down on my left arm, but I could feel nothing. It felt weird, not being able to feel Fang curled up on my left arm anymore. "Thanks Princess Luna." "Just call me Luna." She replied, smiling. "Thanks, Luna. If you hadn't came, I wouldn't be here right now. Thank you so much." "Your very welcome, Roe. I have got to go now. I'll see you sometime later. Goodbye." "Goodbye, Luna." She left the room as the doctor came in the room. He said that I wouldn't have any feeling in my left arm for a few months, since they had to do a lot of surgery to get my arm to be able to heal on its own. They even had to use some of Lyra's research on humans to do surgery on my arm without completely rendering it useless. I'd have to stay in the hospital until my arm started to get some feeling into it. Until, then, I'm stuck in a hospital bed with a soaking wet chest. I have to stay in a hospital be for 3 months. You have got to be fucking kidding me!!! FUCK!!!
A Bad DreamI got out of my bed and got dressed. We need to go NOW!!!"
The ReturnWe were all teleported just outside the Canterlot Palace and rushed inside.
"So...does this prove-" "Yes...It does..."
The Drunken Tales Of Berry PunchWe went to the living room to see who wanted to see Lyra.
No, Roe! Don't die! Stay Awake! No! No! No! No!" "No!"
It Won't End Yet...My eyes slowly opened. FUCK!!!
