Author's Note

So with the recent episode, this really threw me way off balance but at the same time, straightening a few things out. For one thing, now that we learned a bit more about dragons as well as another episode to feature soon(according to M.A Larson) i have no idea where to go with this other than forward.
This one was done before the episode aired and was just sitting here. I honestly was going to publish that day but didn't. WHen i saw the episode late that Night, i didn't realize it was a dragon based episode so i paused any publishing of this story when i saw it. After, i realized that anything i had planned for this was not completely gone but threw me off direction.
I had planned for this to be a 3 book series, with this one only having about 5 or 6 chaptes more, then continuing with the second book with 10 to 12 chapter then do a final book. THe first book is the intro and having the bulk of it humor and sex till the end before it got dark. After that, the books go really dark.

Depending on how much people really like this series or if others want more, ill continue but at a slower bases to try and work the episode into the books without really changing the original storyline.
Sorry for no edit but again, planned to published and edit but episode got in the way.

Spike’s Life
A mix of chaos

The train arrived in the early afternoon with all the girls eager to get out and plan Spike’s farewell party. As soon as the train came to a screeching halt, all the girls except Sunset, ran out of the train and quickly began preparing for the party. Pinkie immediately began zipping through Ponyville, trying to involve just about everypony there.

Applejack raced towards the farm to begin preparing that largest banquet possible and ask for any available help to set it up. Rarity immediately began constructing designs and banners for the farewell party. Fluttershy took off to prepare music and help in any way she could for the party and Rainbow Dash took off to send invites from Ponyville to Cloudsdale about the party.

That left Twilight, Spike and Sunset at the train.

“Spike, while we prepare your party, do you wanna kill time by showing Sunset around? We probably won’t be ready till the night time. Even with Pinkie Pie’s planning.”

Spike gave a nod.

“Sure… maybe get her used the familiar surroundings where she might be studying under you.”

Sunset gave a smile and turned to Twilight.

“That would be nice, though I can’t thank you enough for deciding to teach me what you know from Celestia.”

Twilight gave her own smile.

“I don’t know everything Sunset. I maybe an Alicorn but I didn’t gain all knowledge of the universe. Just what it means to be a friend and how to make them.”

“Maybe that is all I need to know.” She gave a look around the small town and found her eyes wondering the sites. The town was simple and had an old theme that made it feel like a comfortable place to live in.

“Well then,” commented Twilight. “While you two settle in, I’ll go make a list of the party. Make sure we have everything we need and so on.” Without another word, she disappeared in flash of purple.

Sunset then sighed, an almost relieved sigh. Throughout the train ride, she seemed a bit on edge and she hid it well from the girls, but not Spike.

“You okay?”

“Huh… oh yeah. I guess…”

“You sure?”

She shook her head.

“Before I was taken in by Celestia, I lived at an orphanage outside of Canterlot. I never knew my parents and I am not even sure where I came from. My life was simple and bleak at best, though when I first started to manifest my magic, my life turned around. I started creating fire spells before I even learned simple levitation. Small fires, heat, light or even illusionist spells came fast and simple, everything else came after. However, when one of the other orphans teased me about being a ‘fire starter’, I lost myself and nearly set the whole orphanage on fire.”

“I think that my spell must have… been strong enough for Celestia to sense. If it weren’t for her, I think that… they would have kicked me out of the orphanage or maybe just throw me in jail.”

“A little filly going to jail?” quipped Spike. “That would be a first.”

“But it was almost made possible. The fact that my caretaker had a bigger heart than anypony else is the reason she kept me until help came…. That being Celestia. After that… my life changed.”

Her gaze moved through the town as daily life buzzed around. Foals were playing through the streets, ponies past around shops, greeting everypony as family and it all seem so surreal.

“I never have been to a town like this, let alone know what to do when I arrived in one. Everything is… calm. When…” She paused. “When I saw myself through the portal, I saw myself ruling all the lands and all of pony kind. Ponies would look at me with proud smiles and admiration, many would come miles around just to see me in all my glory.”

“ALL HAIL GLOURIOUS PRINCESS SUNSET SHIMMER!!” Spike boomed. “WITNESS HER GREATNESS AND… VIRTUE AND… and what else?” he asked the last part being in a normal voice.

Sunset giggled at Spike’s antics and gave him a nuzzle.

“Nothing that I would need now. Though… maybe finding out how I am going to fit into this peaceful town here.”

Spike gave a snort with smoke coming out of his nostrils.

“Peaceful? Please… Ponyville is anything but normal. Heck we get attacked here like every other day.”

Sunset gave him a look. “Yeah right.” She waved her hoof over the town. “There is no sign of anything bad that has happened and even if this place got attacked by something… not saying it would but there would be some kind of commotion to it or at least this place being abandoned.”

Spike gave a sided nod.

“Yeah that is true, though usually Twilight and the girls take care of it… roughly in 30 minutes or so. And if something does get damaged… well it is replaced quickly…” He paused. “Too Quickly…”

“… What like… its replaced over night or something?”

Spike didn’t answer though it did unnerve him to know that roughly the 30 minutes it took for Twi and the gang to finish taking care of a problem, something was damaged and then… it was fixed like the very next day. He didn’t really think about it too much if at all. He shook his head.

“Anyways so yeah we get attacked roughly every other day, if not a monster from the Everfree forest then something somewhere else happens and this town is the target.” He scanned his eyes for the ponies passing by. “Ask anypony here and they will tell you a story or two about what has happened within the last week or so?”

“And what has happened in the last week or so that would cause damage to this place yet no signs of any property damage is seen?”

Spike thought about it. “Well, we had the return of the Bug Bear again… though it only ruined one house, an Ursa Major recently gave birth so the baby wondered around here and trampled a few houses before the mother came by to pick it up and take it back.” He sat on his haunches and used his claws to count.

“We had a neighbor blow up the windows of every house within a few blocks with her new base cannon, a traveling show mare caught fire to a hay-wagon with her fireworks, Discord accidently unleashed the Smooze again, Timberwolves were seeking some game near—“

“Wait Discord?” asked Sunset. “The Discord? As in… God of Chaos, Master of Disharmony and Crazy Mix-match Frankenstein weirdo, of a thing, Discord? I thought he was locked up in stone?”

Spike was about to answer but was cut off by a sudden, eerily familiar and humorous laugh. He sighed heavily.

“Damn…”

Was all he got before a huge puff of pink exploded right in from of them. Sunset screamed and jumped back… while Spike just casually blinked at the entrance of the Draconequus.

“Now Sunset dear, I wouldn’t so much be called a ‘Frankenstein’ as he was a corpse made of different corpses and brought to life by lightning, but the Mix match and the titles are all a nice little touch.”

Sunset was terrified beyond anything as the creature of nightmares stood(hovered) before her. Thinking she was about to be attacked, she turned to Spike hoping he would run but instead, he stood there, calmly and looked up at Discord with bored eyes. He didn’t seem tense at all though his tail was twitching left and right as if anticipating something.

“What do you want Discord?” he said nonchalantly. “Don’t you know not to do that to every new guests that come here? Hasn’t Fluttershy already told you that?”

Discord gave a small grin.

“Yes she did but… ahh, I can’t help myself every time a new guests arrive and is told of my presence only to say my name I appear right in from of them. The excitement of getting to do that is becoming less and less now that more ponies across Equestria know of my reformation. Not to mention, I gotta keep my tittle anyhow.”

Sunset stared between them, wondering what is going on. Why wasn’t Discord causing chaos? Why wasn’t Spike running in fear?

“Ahh… it seems poor Sunset here needs a clue,” he pulled out a question mark. “as to why you’re not freaking out and running or screaming.”

Spike turned to Sunset who still seemed puzzled and less frightful though cautious, about the interaction between the too.

“You okay?” he asked, approaching the mare.

Slowly, she got back up and nodded, though her gaze remained on the Draconequus before her.

“Take it in, take it in why don’t you? See the fabulous-ness of the almighty Discord!” With that, a stage appeared and the sound of a ‘crowd’ cheered as Discord walked around the stage, doing different poses and giving kisses to the said ‘invisible crowd’.

Sunset was losing her fear but not her feeling in her gut. It was odd, knowing that here was an evil god, casually here in this peaceful town, yet nothing was in ruins. Twilight and the girls were not here to stop him, the ponies behind him either stared at his antics and walked away or ignored him completely. Spike continued to stare at him, though his expression looked bored, almost as if he already knows him long enough that he got tired of his act.

Spike sighed at turned to her.

“Sorry should have warned you. Discord here, formal ‘Evil Chaos Overload’ has been reformed. Almost a decade ago, after Twilight turned him to stone again, Celestia hoped to reform him and turn him to good. Didn’t work out at first but then, Fluttershy changed him and now… well, he is not ‘Evil’ or an ‘Overload’ but he still causes chaos or liked to hassle every pony now and then. Though he is annoying all the time, he has helped us save Equestira a few times…” He snorted. “Very few times.”

“Oh I am touched Spike. Here I thought you would say nothing but negative things about me to your marefriend here.”

“He is still a pain in the tail sometimes, though.”

“Ouch.” Mocked Discord. “Well there goes the fun wagon.” Sunset had ignored Spike’s quip rather focused on how Discord knew that she was his marefriend, let alone know that they were together.”

“Don’t you have to meet Fluttershy or Pinkie for the party or something?”

Discord put a claw on his chin.

“Party?” he asked almost as if he didn’t know, almost. “Aw yes! Your little going away party! The party where you are leaving us! Party of your departure. You, little Spike, having a party, because you are going back home with your daddy! That party!”

Spike gave a snort before looking around.

“Where the hay is Screwball when you need her?” He asked either to himself or to Discord, Sunset couldn’t tell. “She is usually a lot more bearable then you are.” Spike stopped looking and turned to Discord. “At least she is funny.”

Suddenly Discord mocked a faked a gasp before he clutched his chest.

“No! It cannot be! My own… she has… forsaken me!” An eerie musical tone played as Discord dramatically posed.

“Screwball! My creation!”

A short 'pomp' was heard when a pink mare with swirly eyes, purple and white mane with a beanie propeller hat appeared right in front of them.

“Yes daddy?”

“It is true?” he begged. “Is it true that you are now more funnier then me?!”

Screwball tilted her head.

“I shouldn't be?” The two began to bicker back and forth with one another while Spike threw in his own quip now and then. Her voice was like that of a filly and Sunset had a extremely hard time believing that this...'filly' was Discord daughter. Though he did say creation, did he make her or is she flesh and blood? Or whatever Draconequuses where made of… Draconequuii?

“Gesundheit!” spoke Screwball.

Sunset realized the bickering stopped and Screwball stood(hovered) right in front of her, causing Sunset to jump back in fear.

“What's with everypony doing that?!” she yelled, trying to calm herself.

“Screwball does it to get inside of your head, literally but she finds some rather interesting stuff in there.” commented Discord. “She might be my daughter, but when she looks into new ponies, she figures them out quickly.

Screwball hovered in front of her, giving her a smile.

“You look just like a Phoenix!”

“A Phoenix?” questioned Sunset, looking to Spike who gave a shrug before turning to Discord.

“Screwball here evaluated the best of a pony's character to those who are either lost or misplaced. She is my daughter and carries by traits but unlike my chaos, her chaos is finding it in others or finding none of it at all.”

“Meaning?”

“You are a Phoenix. Wild, uncontrolled, holding back regrets, filled with emotions and raw power. You have so much potential and your just waiting for your rebirth so that you can become a better being so to speak. Like Twilight, she was reborn as an Alicorn to become the Embodiment of Magic, Same with Luna as the Moon, Celestia as the Sun, and even I. We all had to wait until we were reborn to become what we are now.”

Sunset didn't know what to say at this point. So, was it still possible she might still have a chance of a possible ascension?

The thought was dissipated when Discord's alarm clock(an actual wooden coo-coo clock on his arm,) started crying out.

“Oh that is our cue to go, screwy. We best not be late!”

“Right daddy!”

Discord turned to Sunset and he lifted his top hat?

“Well wish to stay in chat but we both got a gig to get too!”

“You have a gig?” asked Sunset.

Spike filled in before Discord.

“Yeah he does. He actually has a group of ponies that worship him openly. 'Sons of Mayhem', they're called. Bunch of nut jobs that actually want Discord to cause chaos, but with humor and not any harm. You can think of it as a really bad 'stand up' comedy. There is roughly 99 members. They went by different name, 'Sons of Anarchy'...”

“That was taken and trademarked so couldn't use that one.” commented Discord.

“Anarchy 99...”

“That one too...”

“Misfits...”

“That's a band.”

“And so on, but in the end, they choose Sons of Mayhem. Bunch of idiots with nothing better to do with their lives.”

“Ohh again with the insults, Spike. Either the writer is making you say it or you really, really hate us.”

Spike gave a snort.

“Just you. Again, Screwball actually makes us laugh, you just try to make something funny but dosen't really work.” he turned to Screwball. “I hope that maybe you can teach your dad some real good jokes.”

Discord grumbled and Screwball giggled.

“I'll try but I think he wants to do his own. Maybe you can think of jokes and if he laughs, maybe you can replace him!”

Spike gave a half snort, half laugh.

“That will be the day.” With that he lifted his palm, turned to a fist and she gave him a 'hoof-bump'.

“Yes, that will be the day.” mumbled Discord before quickly grabbing Screwball and waving. “Well, have fun you two. Enjoy the party and I will see you before you leave. Ta, ta!” Screwball waved 'goodbye' before the two 'popped' out of existence.

Sunset had remained quiet most of the time and it didn't really dawn unto Spike till now.

“You okay”

She inhaled a bit.

“That was the weirdest moment of my life.” she stated simply in a monotone voice. “And I walked in on father while he was on top of your mother… your dragon mother… and maybe he was ontop of your other mother too.” she paused and rubbed her head. “Dad is a real horn dog.”

Spike gave a scoff.

“Isn't that normal for dragons, seeing other dragons mating?”

“Yes but I was young pony and seeing two other species going at it was either weird or disturbing. I didn't really start to get used to until after 'mother' explained it to me.”

Spike didn't respond. Whenever 'mother', came about, he always pictured Celestia, but when mentioned he had a second mother or in this case his 'biological mother', he drew a blank.

“I honestly don't know how she looks like,” Spike commented off softly. “...let alone what am I supposed to be looking at. I keep trying to think of one, my mother is either a quadruped, purple scales like me or dad, or something else. When I went to the dragon migrations, I saw all kinds of dragons, I couldn't really tell at the time, which were males and females, other than the obvious bullies that I encountered. But… I didn't know which ones could be females. So whenever my dragon mother came up I draw a blank...”

He looked really saddened to think about it, and it made Sunset feel worse knowing that he grew up not seeing his mother. Sunset was lucky to have two moms, knowing both cared for her in each way. They each displayed their own affections for her in their own way and despite the near decade long gap between them, Celestia still cared for her in everyway that is her daughter.

Spike didn't want to think of it any longer, seeing as how this time tomorrow, he would be leaving to see her.

Just a day less and Ill be seeing her, he thought.

With that, he walked on with Sunset as the two explored the rest of the town.
