The Start of a Problem
One day in the gorgeous land of the Mushroom Kingdom, in a small house, on the outskirts of Toad Town, lived an Italian plumber and his brother. Their names were Mario and Luigi. Mario is a decorated hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, while his brother was, well, a coward. Not that he was a terrible hero, it’s just that he prefers to run from a fight rather that to fight it head on, like Mario. Luigi had his perks though he would help out Mario as best he could, and even that would be enough to help his brother. Now relaxing from doing some chores around the house the brothers went on to rest and do a little shopping to restock the now empty fridge from their best pal Yoshi. Yoshi was a dinosaur that helped Mario and Luigi fight off the evil king Bowser and saved the princess a few years back.
“I’m-a gonna go to town and do some shopping because ‘SOMEONE’ ate all the food…AGAIN,” said Luigi.
“Ok Luigi I’ll see you when you get-a back...Oh and don’t forget to get some more of that stuff that I like.”
“You mean Laffy Taffy.”
“Yeah, that.”
Luigi rolled his eyes. He may live with his brother, but they do get on each others nerves from time to time. Luigi doesn't mind doing things for his brother or friends it just when they make him look like an idiot that just annoys him just a little. Just as he was making his way out Yoshi got up from his spot where he was lying down after eating all of the brothers food.
“Hey, Luigi can I come with you shopping.”
Luigi let out a big sigh, “Sure why not, I might need some help with the bags.”
Yoshi jumped up with glee and started to the door where Luigi was standing, but he interrupted him when he said, “But you’re not gonna eat the food on the way home.”
“Ahhhhhh.”
Yoshi was sly when it came to this he would eat the food they bought or even eat the food at the store and other people’s stuff. When they were gone Mario let out a sigh of relief because those two would be at it for a while before they even start shopping. The thing is that Yoshi would still eat some stuff anyways even if Luigi had a close eye on him. Just as Mario was about to drift off into “Dreamland” a very exited knock was at the door the one that sounds like it would break your door down if you didn't answer it in time.
“Ok, Ok I’m-a coming, I’m-a coming.”
At the door was a small creature that kind-a resembled a large mushroom his name was Toad he wasn't much to look at but he looked like he’s been through a lot in a short amount of time. So without any hesitation Mario let in the little guy and asked what was going on and the only thing he said with a very low voice was “The...Princess…”
Mario let Toad rest and set him down on his chair that he was lying on and ran out the door. Mario knew that he couldn't get his brother and Yoshi because he had to take the warp pipe straight to the castle. He had a feeling on who it was attacking the kingdom again. It was Bowser. Why now, why so soon he just attacked the kingdom only a few days ago. Mario just had to get there and had to get there fast in order to save the day again.

Luigi and Yoshi were on there way to Toad Town when it seemed like out of no where a fleet of Doom-ships were headed to Princess Peach’s Castle. As soon as they saw it they knew the princess was in trouble. So Luigi got on Yoshi and ran towards her castle. As they neared the castle it was already surrounded by Koopa Troopas, Goombas, Spinys, Bomb-ombs, and they were all lead by Bowsers’ second in command Kemek. Luigi jumped off Yoshi and started to attack Bowsers’ troops.

Mario came out of the pipe and scoped out the area it was clear, which was not normal when Bowser comes and attacks the castle. It is normally filled with his troops roaming the halls looking and keeping guard of precious thing. But there was no one, not a single soul was to be seen. So Mario took it as a sign to be extra cautious around here. Mario figured that he would go the throne room and make sure that Bowser is in there and take him out easy.

Luigi and Yoshi finished off all of the underlings and all was left was Kemek. In a bit of rage Kemek yelled, “You fools, you will regret this”
“Yeah right we kicked all of your troops’ asses and you still want to attack us,” said Yoshi
“Uhhhhh, you’ll never catch me,” he said as he flew into the castle.
As he flew into the tower they heard Bowser laugh maniacally.
“We need to get him and find the princess”
“Right, lets-a go Yoshi.”
They went in to the castle and climbed the staircase when they bumped into Mario by accident. They fell on the ground and were a little disoriented from the fall. When they found out who it was they hit they loosened up some,
“Luigi, Yoshi. How...when did you get here?”
“Well we were about to get into town when we say a fleet of Doom-ships start attacking the castle. So Yoshi and I went to the front of the castle and kicked all of those troopas asses and we were following Kemek in here, and well you know the rest.”
Mario said with a surprising tone “Kemek is here, this changes everything I knew about this take over.”
Kemek would only come to the castle if Bowser needed some magical assistance and this would also explain why no one was around in the castle. This is kind of concerning because with Kemek anything would happen. Now all they have to do is find the throne room and take out Bowser.

“Bwahahahaha, now that I have you now Princess, all I need those pesky plumbers and that dumb Dino.”
“Hm. You wish Bowser they will come and rescue me like they always do and you will fail.”
“Not this time my precious, for I have a plan that won’t possibly go wrong”
It was at this moment that Kemek came in with a worried look on his face. The two looked at him and Bowser looked mad at him, though Peach was pleased because this meant that she was going to be saved in any moment. Kemek told Bowser what happened to the troops that he had and how Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi had already gotten in the castle and are headed this way. Bowser gave a sigh and then laughed.
“What’s so funny you’re about to be defeated” said Peach.
“Because, its all going according to plan. Now Kemek Let’s finish setting up in here, oh don’t forget to get the princess.”
“Okay, your Nastiness. Sorry Princess, I have to do this.”
When he said this he gagged her and waved his magic wand, this knocked out the princess and she went from struggling to being limp in a matter of seconds.
“She’s out your Ruthlessness…I don’t mean to question you your Cruelness, but are you sure they will fall for it. I mean-”
“Oh, shut up and get ready I think they’re coming.”
The door busted open and the three heroes came in and they started to look around and then they saw her, just limp in the middle of the of the room with nothing else there but a chair and the Princess in it just limp. When they were about to get close Mario stopped them in mid-step.
“This could be a trap and what if they are waiting for us to get close to her then, WHAM. They get us in a trap.”
Peach awoke very weak and disoriented. Yoshi went on to help her and when he went Bowser and Kemek jumped out and grabbed him in a magic bubble. Mario and Luigi turned and got into a battle ready stance and so did Bowser and Kemek.
“So it-a comes down to this an old fashion fight me and Luigi versus YOU and Kemek.”
“Sorry Mario but this is gonna be a short fight and I will reign supreme.”
“In-a your dreams you dumb Turtle.”
With what Luigi said, Bowser roared and the fight began. Mario fought  Bowser and Luigi fought Kemek. Mario pulled out his hammer and started to go for Bowser, while Luigi pulled out a Fire Flower and with the Power Up aimed for Kemek. The battle was going in the favor of our heroes, until Bowser being the evil cheat that he was pulled out a wand and hit Luigi. Luigi went down for the count and then he aimed for Mario and he fired. Mario hit back all of the laser beams and eventually he hit Kemek making him go down as well.
“It seems we are at an impasse my annoying nemesis.”
“Yeah it-a seems like it.”
“So this is how its gonna go I’m gonna go and let them go only if you do one thing for me?”
Finally Peach loosened the gag and yelled as best she could, “No, don’t listen to him he’s gonna-”
She was silenced by none other than Kemek.
“WHAT? I thought you were, I mean, it looked like-”
“That beam doesn't affect us Koopas.”
With that Kemek hit Mario with the same beam and that knocked him out cold. He couldn't see anything but he could still hear. So Heard Bowser and Kemek talk with someone whose voice he didn't recognize and a large amount of energy being swirled around. Then he started to come to when he tried to get up to save Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach he was shot again and this time he couldn't hear anything.

Mario awoke in a small room with two tall and regal looking figures. One was shorter than the other and she also looked a lot younger than the white one. When he got a little closer he realized that these figures were horses, or some sort of weird hybrid. They both had a long horn, a pair of wings, and beautiful flowing manes and tails. The smaller one was a midnight blue looking color and had black garments while the white one had many different colors in her mane and wore golden garments. After what seemed like forever the white one spoke.
“You, are you the one they call Mario?”
Mario was hesitant at first, he didn't know what to say. Then the midnight blue one spoke.
“OUR SISTER HATH SPOKEN TO THEE, ANSWER HER OR THOU WILT FEEL  OUR WRATH.”
Mario answered not knowingly said, “YES!”
“Well then, I guess that will have to do.”
“I am Princess Celestia and this is my sister Princess Luna, and we need your help.”
“Why do you need my help?”
“Because, long ago a ‘VILE’ creature by the name of  Koopa had come from a place called the ‘Mushroom Kingdom’ and had enslaved my little ponies. They were tortured until they died still working. We could do nothing since we were also enslaved and tortured us as well. He put a spell on us so we couldn't use our magic to escape. There was a pony there that I will never forget she was only a filly and she was in the cell next to ours and we saw her wings pulled off and I heard them say that they did this in order to keep some ponies from flying away. He had us enslaved for a long time until one day while the guard watching us fell asleep. We broke out and escaped and we went to retrieved the Elements Of Harmony a ‘weapon’ that uses the elements of friendship. We sent him back from where he came from. That was 1000 years ago, just before my sister became Nightmare Moon, and we feel that same energy again and we think that he will return and enslave us once again.”
“Mario go to a small town called Ponyville and find the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle. She will aid you on this quest to stop this evil villain and bring peace back to our worlds,” said Luna.
‘Are they talking about Bowser and his new wand and what hell is Ponyville and who the hell is Twilight Sparkle’ Mario thought. But before he could ask those questions they were gone and it was dark again and something felt weird.

Just a Normal Day
In Princess Twilight’s Castle it was just a normal day, Spike was walking around and checking off things on the checklist that Twilight gave him that morning. Spike was a baby dragon with purple and green scales and he is Twilight’s number one assistant. Twilight was catching up on some studying that she has missed. Twilight is also purple and she had a horn and a pair of wings. Her Cutie Mark is of a twinkling star with five other stars surrounding it. Rarity was once again cleaning the thrones and polishing them up. She is a beautiful white unicorn with with a twirling groomed mane and tail. Her Cutie Mark is three diamonds in a secession. And Pinkie Pie was just being Pinkie, blowing up balloons and making them fly around. Pinkie Pie is, well, pink with a pink curly mane and tail, and her Cutie Mark is three balloons, two of which are blue and the other one is yellow. Then one of those balloons fell on Spike’s head and he kinda freaked out a little and this made everypony laugh a bit.
“Pinkie, darling, would you mind to pick up the balloons, it does make a mess after a while.”
“Oh, Ok Rarity I didn't mean to make soooo much of a mess.”
Pinkie blew so many balloons that it made a pile of them in the middle of the room. In a swoop of her mane she grabbed all the balloons and deflated them all. Then she put them away in a flash.
“Wow Pinkie that always surprises me how you always are able to do things that boggles my mind.”
Soon after Applejack and Rainbow Dash came in arguing about something. Applejack is an orange pony that works on an apple farm and has a southern style accent. Rainbow Dash is a cyan colored Pegasus pony that was a little full of herself at times, but is always there for you if you need help. Now those two don’t agree on everything but they are good friends.
“Now, I don’t think that was necessary Rainbow Dash.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, but I’m pretty sure he needed to be taught a lesson after what happened to us for a million times.”
“But did ya have to make him cry like that? I mean even though he was in your face about that.”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right about that.”
“I think ya should apologize to him and of course I’m right about that!”
“So what is this about?” asked Twilight
“ Rainbow Dash here, was yellin’ at Discord ‘cause he said that she was not being a fair when they were havin’ an eatin’ competition.”
“Well to be fair HE was cheating first so I had to in order to keep up.”
While they were arguing, a pony came in screaming and was yelling frantically. This got all of the ponies attention. They were wondering if this was all Discord’s fault. Applejack they all looked at Rainbow Dash and sighed.

Discord was in Fluttershy’s cottage crying. Discord was a draconequus, which meant he had a head of a pony and the body parts of many sorts of creatures. He went straight there after the competition. Fluttershy was there comforting him to make him, hopefully, feel better about the whole thing. Fluttershy was a yellow Pegasus with a pink mane and tail and has a Cutie Mark with three pink and blue butterflies.
“There, there Discord, she didn't mean to hurt your feelings.”
“Well it wasn't all that bad, I mean I could of taken her wings and made her stuck on the ground for eternity. Muhahaha.”
“But that wouldn't be very nice and you would make her cry.”
“I know, and that's why I didn't do it, I’m really trying to be good...for you.”
“What?” she said surprised
“Nothing, well, I’m going for a walk and do a little bit of Chaos in the Everfree Forest, that should cheer me up.”
“ Ok Discord but don’t harm any of the animals there or we will have a big talk mister”
Discord gulped knowing that pissing off Fluttershy would make all of Equestria tremble. Fluttershy smiled knowing that her message got across. Angel, Fluttershy’s bunny, was still unsatisfied with Fluttershy and how she prepared his meal in the morning so he started to tap his foot. When Fluttershy noticed him finally he gave her a smack and pointed at his bowl.

It was still early in the day at the Cutie Mark Crusaders, or CMC for short,  hideout at Sweet Apple Acres. The group consisted of three little fillies the first one is Apple Bloom, she was a yellow earth pony filly with a red mane and tail, her sister is Applejack. The next one is Sweetie Belle, she is a white unicorn filly with a purple and pink mane and tail, her sister was Rarity. The final one in the group is Scootaloo she is a Pegasus filly with a purple mane and tail, and her roll model is Rainbow Dash.
" What should we do to day girls," said Apple Bloom
"Well what about if we--" said Sweetie Belle before she was interrupted.
"No we did that yesterday," said Scootaloo
" You didn't let me finish."
"But we always do the same thing almost everyday."
"Well what do you suppose we do then."
"I say we go and see if we can last in the Everfree Forest and see if we get our Cutie Marks in exploring!"
"WHAT!" said the other two fillies.
"No way, no how are we goin' in there," said Apple Bloom
"Rarity would KILL me if I were to in there," squeaked Sweetie Belle.
"What are you guys Chicken," said Scootaloo.
"We're not chickens," said Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle
"Well then...Prove it," said Scootaloo.
When Scootaloo said this Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle wanted to be a brave pony and show up Scootaloo. But the thing is that their sisters would be very pissed if they were to step a single hoof in there without there protection. Applejack, Big Macintosh, and Granny Smith would beat the living shit out of Apple Bloom if they ever find out. While Rarity would never hit Sweetie, although she probably would make an exception. So if they go their screwed and if they don't go then there their chickens. Then Apple Bloom had an Idea.
"Could ya'  excuse us for a moment Scoots."
"What is it Apple Bloom?"
"Do you want to be called a chicken, from a chicken?"
" Well no, but what does that have to do with that?"
The two fillies looked up to their friend and smiled very cheaply at her.
"I mean what if we say we're goin' some where but actually go to the Everfree Forest."
"WHAT! You mean lie?"
"Yeah."
"Well I don't know about that Apple Bloom."
"Come on what's the worst that could happen?"
"Okay I'll go on with it."
Then the two looked at their friend and both agreed that they will go.
"Great meet you guys at the entrance of the forest tonight, see you then."

Later the CMC all met at the entrance of the forest where Scootaloo was waiting for them already. Apple Bloom said that she was staying at Scootaloo's house and she should be back in the morning. Of course Applejack agreed with this because she trusts her after the whole Fire Swamp thing. While Sweetie Belle said that she was going also to Scootaloo's place for the night. It took a little bit more convincing to let her go on her own but she eventually did it. They both new they couldn't let their families know or there flanks are in for it.
"Alright, are we ready for an awesome night tonight in the Everfree Forest!"
"Yeah, we are," said Apple Bloom.
"Yeah," said Sweetie Belle
"Alright let's do this."
The three fillies walk into the forest and set up camp about 400 meters from the entrance. Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo set up their tents and start to have their dinner when all of a sudden Discord appeared and surprised them.
"Hello ladies what are we doing here this fine evening."
They all screamed and yelled then it was silenced with laughter.
"What are you doing here Discord"
"Well I'm here blowing off steam as it were, and you?"
"We're here to get our Cutie Marks in exploring!" exclaimed Scootaloo.
"Well that is great but I think that you should start exploring tonight because I saw something in the forest that would peek your interests."
"What is it, what is it?" said the three fillies
"I'm sorry but if you want to find out your going to have to find out."
"Which direction is it in?"
"Well I could tell you where it is, but it will have to cost you."
"How much?" asked Scootaloo
"Oh, nothing much but a simple request, just put this on Zecora's house and that will be it."
"That's it?"
"Yes, that's it."
It was a small little trinket that said "Discord was here."
"Ok we'll do it," said Scootaloo
"OK it is in that direction and you'll see it right in front of the riverbed."
Scootaloo was making all of the decisions for them and they didn't want to say anything to disappoint her so they let her go on with the plan. But before they did anything they went to Zecora's to place the 'stupid trinket', as Sweetie calls it, on her house and ran away. Then they made it to the riverbed they didn't see anything at first but they soon saw a small, pitiful, shelter that was made of branches, leaves, and mud. They went up to it and saw that something was in it, but what it was they were not sure. They saw it move and they ran for cover and what they saw shocked them and they didn't know what it was.
