It was a nice quiet peaceful night in the town of Ponyville the residents were asleep and eager to awaken to a new day, well almost everyone was asleep"
The library, the humble home of one Twilight Sparkle and her number one assistant, Spike. " This isn't good this isn't good at all, its almost time for the comet to pass by and we have yet to get a single thing on the list done! " Twilight was currently getting ready for an astral occurrence that only happens once every few hundred years. She was to meet her friends atop a hill on the edge of Ponyville so they'd have the perfect vantage point to observe the comet.
" Cmon twilight its not the end of the world if you skip one list, I mean what harm could it possibly do ," said her number one assistant.
" what harm could it do?!, WHAT HARM?! what if Princess Celestia finds out that I've been slacking off *gasp* what if, " her rant was silenced by a purple hand covering her mouth.
" Twilight just calm down OK, the princess isn't gonna flip over you taking one day to relax now come on we've got a comet to go see! " he stated with excitement as he gathers their supplies for the night.
A loud audible sigh was heard coming from the mare before saying this " Alright spike I'll take this night off..BUT..we're going to work twice as hard tomorrow, understood? " she gets in Spike's face before heading out the door, causing the poor baby dragon to sweat drop.
" Yes ma'am Twilight ma'am, " he states with a nervous chuckle as he follows her.
"On the very hilltop that the main 6 are meeting on where the other 5 members eagerly await the arrival of their leader"
"Where in tarnation is that mare shes gonna miss that there comet if she don't hurry it up, " stated an orange earth pony known as Applejack, as she was finishing setting up the last of the treats she brought with her .
"Yeah I mean its not like old egghead to be late to something like this, I mean Isn't this her kind of stuff to begin with? " said a very impatient cyan pegasus named Rainbow Dash.
" Cmon dashie I mean It's not like shes late on purpose she even pinkie promised that she'd show up before the comet thingy showed up*gasp* WHATIFTWILIGHTWASONHERWAYHEREANDTHECOMETFELLONHER!!!!!! " screamed a VERY overly excited pink earth pony named Pinkamena Diane pie, or as her friends call her Pinkie Pie. This sudden outburst from Pinkie was enough to make poor Fluttershy cower behind Applejack.
" Now look what ya done went and done Pinkie, could ya calm down for 5 seconds Twilight weren't struck by no comet, hay It's not even time for that sucker to show up yet we still got a good hour before time, " stated Applejack trying to calm Pinkie down. A white unicorn with a luxurious purple mane walked over to the cowering Fluttershy "now now darling Pinkie was just excited you can come out now I'm sure she wont do it anymore, here you seem cold dear I brought a spare blanket since I figured it would get cold while we waited , " stated Rarity as she used her magic to pick Fluttershy up and sit her on the picnic cloth before levitating a cover over her shivering body.
"..t.thank you..., " whispered Fluttershy.
"Hurry up Spike we're gonna be late!," yelled Twilight as she rushed ahead of her assistant, not wanting to miss the astral event.
"I'm trying Twilight but my legs aren't as long as yours, " he struggled to say as he has a hard time even keeping up with her when suddenly he becomes enveloped in a purple light before being lifted onto Twilight's back.
"There's no time to mess around Spike we need to hurry we're almost there as it is, just a little furth- " she was cut off as a strange ripple in the sky released a loud echo that seemed to span across the entire night sky, from Ponyville to Canterlot, all the way to Manehattan, to even Saddle Arabia. The rift was only open for a few short minutes but the many lights that flew from it made it seem like it lasted for hours, one of the lights crashed not too far from where Twilight and the others were. After seeing the anomaly Twilight began to run as fast as her legs and hooves would carry her, whatever crashed near them couldn't be from Equestria.

Forgive me if you don't like the story its my very first one and i had a bit of trouble with the color font and bold buttons on the tool bar if you like it then comment and tell me how i can improve it maybe some advice for a newbie writer on here . I'm not a newbie when it comes to writing I've written plenty before but not on here anyway if you like it comment i'll try and get a chapter out once per day depending on my schedule, if you don't like it don't say a thing. until next time bronies and pegasisters * waves and walks off*

The Mysterious Eggs
"It wasn't long till Twilight and Spike arrived to meet up with their friends but before they could get a single hello out they were already running full pace to the scene of the crash"
"What if its a brain sucking alien?! or a being from another dimension whose here to take Equestria as his own! " said Spike as he followed the girls or well rather panicked his way towards them.
"What if its a bunch of inter-dimensional digital lifeforms who have come to help fight a bunch of other inter-dimensional digital life forms, " said Pinkie Pie as she simply bounced her way towards the crash.
Twilight scoffed "don't be ridiculous Pinkie that could never happen in a million years, whatever it is peaceful or not we need to find out what IT is, " Twilight said as she responded to pinkie Pies ridiculous notion.
"Whatever it is if it wants a fight its got one, " stated Rainbow Dash in a rather vigorous tone. As they got closer they all gasped at what the thought was one big crater but in reality it was 6 small craters clustered together and seemed to glow with an ever so radiant light.
As the main six and spike drew closer something inside Fluttershy made her speed ahead of the others and fly straight towards the craters, but as she got to it she halted in midair at what she saw in the craters, with her eyes wide and her mouth left agape, it left her friends to wonder what she saw. "Fluttershy you know better than to fly ahead what if it were something dangero- " Twilights words were caught in her mouth as she and soon all the others gawked at what was inside the craters. Eggs, six colorfully designed eggs each seemed unique being different from one another.
Fluttershy was the first to act as she scooped up the closest one to her, it was mainly white but had orange stripes wrapped around it "Awww they're just little eggs poor defenseless eggs..but what kind are they they're too small to be dragon eggs, " she stated as she warmly held it close to her torso, she jumped slightly as she could feel the egg pulsate signalling that it had life in it, this brought a big smile to her face.
" Your right Fluttershy if these are dragon eggs then they're no dragon eggs I've ever seen they're too...colorful ," she took note of their color as she levitated it towards her, something deep inside her made her put it in her saddlebag to take it home.
"Well shoot if we're all taken one then I might as well to, " Applejack stated as she picked the egg up as delicately as she could and put it in her saddlebag.
"Well I'm picking this one cause it looks 20 percent cooler than the rest, " Rainbow Dash retorted to the others as the picks it up and if for an instance she cradled it in her hooves before the others start looking at her making her stop.
After the main six had each picked an egg they said their goodnight's and farewells before embarking home, "what if It's another dragon then I won't be considered a baby any more I'll have my own little brother, " Spike cheered as he he happily stared at the egg sticking out of Twilight's saddlebag.
"Spike I highly doubt It's a dragon egg I mean even your egg was bigger than this, we'll just have to do a few studies on it when we get back to the library, " Twilight said in response to Spike's daydream, "besides if they were dragon eggs I'm sure by now we'd be seeing some angry parents ".
Spikes eyes widened as he had not thought of this, "I guess your right Twi..I hadn't thought of that but what else could it be I mean It's too big to be a griffon egg, wait do griffons even lay eggs, " he started to question what could possibly reside inside the mystery eggs but in mid thought he walked right into the side the library, Twilight simply giggles at her number one assistants antics before walking inside. Before doing anything Twilight uses her magic to bring a pillow to her study table before gently setting the mystery egg on it and form there she began her studies.
As the night furthered on so did Twilight's studies, from what little information shes gathered from the egg she has concluded that whatever is inside the egg seems to be rather active around others, as she has already witnessed it bounce when she goes to touch it with her hoof. But soon her studies came to a halt as she felt sleep taking her, but before drifting off to sleep she muttered these words towards the eggs. "If only you would hatch so I could know more about you, " with these words said she fell asleep but little did she know Twilight's plea towards the egg was not unheard cause at that very moment all six eggs began to erratically shake before cracking until there were holes big enough for tiny little eyes to see out of.

We look in on Ponyville as its inhabitants are waking up to a fine morning all except for our six protagonist what became of their eggs let's find out
It was early in the morning when a certain boutique owner was waking up, she had a big day ahead of her. Rarity had many clothes to design and make on this day, she softly stirred in her bed before turning to face where her egg once laid only to find cracked eggshells and a mysterious black creature with big yellow eyes.
An ear piercing shriek could be heard across Ponyville as the newborn creature both surprised and scared Rarity do to its appearance and it suddenly being there, she quickly backs away,sliding off her bed but as she was about to leave she heard it crying like a child who had lost its mother. Slowly and cautiously she neared the crying creature before holding her hooves out to pick it up, " It's alright d..don't cry i didn't mean to scream you just startled me, " she looks at the creature as its cries turn to small sniffles and it begins to nestle itself against her body, " you were just afraid weren't you, well no need anymore now you've got someone to look after you, "she placed the baby creature on her back before heading downstairs. "We've got a busy day ahead of us darling so are you ready to be mommie's little helper, " the baby bounced up and down in excitement, then after it settled down it began to blow bubbles. Rarity stared almost awestruck at the sight, the infant was blowing bubbles as if it were natural although the longer she watched the more a smile began to develop on her face.
"You certainly are a surprising little thing aren't you I'm sure Sweetie will love to meet you, " and with this the two went on and started their day. The day was going fine a few people were surprised by the infants appearance but the rest just said " aww and how adorable", all things seemed to stop suddenly when the sound of a stomach rumbling interrupted Rarity's train of thought as she was designing an outfit for her little bundle of joy, " My word you must be terribly hungry come on lets get you something to eat, " she lifts the baby botamon onto her back and carries him to the kitchen where she begins browsing for food , but while she did this the infant began it's own search for food. It quickly eyed a bowl of cat food then began to bounce its way over there eventually bouncing off the counter into the bowl where it began to gorge itself . Rarity took no notice of this until she heard a hiss, she turned her head to see the sound and what she saw made her eyes widen in fear, Opal had seen the strange new creature eating her food and would not stand for this so she slowly neared the puff ball claws extended prepared to get rid of the intruder. Before Rarity could run to save her newborn a bright light had stopped her and opal, when the light faded no longer did her puffball sit there but instead a little pink creature she could only describe as " if a ball had grown long rabbit ears, a mouth , and eyes".
A similar phenomenon is occurring at Fluttershy's cottage
The animal caretaker of Ponyville was just then waking up, having heard the shriek of one of her best friends but before she could react to the sound she noticed the pieces of eggshell spread about her bed, she frantically looked around the room looking for any traces of the newborn until she saw a bubble float between her eyes, and then another and another until she traced them down to a pink creature that was sitting right underneath her muzzle.
She simply stared in marvel at the strange creature for a few moments , having never seen such a thing in her life. After taking those moments to stare at it she picked it up and held it in a motherly grasp rocking it back and forth, "Well aren't you just the cutest little thing that I've ever seen, so you were the baby from the egg I brought home, " before she could say anything else to it the infants stomach began to rumble, "Oh goodness I'm sorry, I didn't know you were hungry come on lets get you something to eat, " said Fluttershy as she gently carries the infant downstairs to feed it. Once downstairs she began picking out an assortment of foods from fruits to vegetables, not knowing what the baby ate was the difficult part of this cause she didn't know what it would and wouldn't like. She then eyed it inching its way towards a cupcake that Pinkie had left there her last visit, it finally reached the morsel and then began eating as much as its little mouth would let it, she couldn't help but smile at the way it ate. She watched until it had eaten it all but as soon as it ran out the infant began to cry, "You must still be hungry here let's fix that , " she picked it up, kissed it above its eyes and sat it on the table. Fluttershy then placed a bowl of fruit in front of the hungry newborn, it looked at the bowl for a few seconds before devouring the contents in a few seconds, it let out a little burp but then it started to glow brightly. What sat there afterwords was not the pink baby she was just feeding but instead a furry ball with red eyes a mouth that housed 2 teeth and atop its head was a horn that curved in an odd way, she just stared at her hatching before walking over to it only for it to smile at her.
At Sweet Apple Acres another egg has hatched what lied within it.
Applejack had just woken up to A similar sight as the other two had except her newborn was up front and eager to meet the person who helped hatch it, she looked into the eyes of the creature that of which came form the egg.
"Well I'll be if you ain't the strangest little thing I've ever laid my eyes on..i reckon your the little feller who came outta that there egg, " the baby bounced up and down in response, "Well someones as hyper as Pinkie at a party, cmon little..er fur ball thing you must be downright hungry, " she picked it up, placed it on her back and went downstairs. Once downstairs she was greeted by a filly, her little sister.
"Good mornin applejack I thought I'd make ya some breakfast since Granny Smith and Big Mac went into tow- " her words were cut short as she spotted the purple fur ball resting on her sisters back,she quickly rushed over to her sister and started eyeballing it, "Big sis!! where in Equestria did you get that thing from hes soo cute!!! " squealed Apple bloom.
Applejack had to cover her ears the squeal was so loud, "Now Apple bloom he ain't no toy or a pet now don't go botherin him, now if you wanna help then get me a bowl for this little feller, " once the bowl was sat in front of of the baby Applejack poured some freshly made applesauce into it and waited to see if it would taste it. The baby digimon sniffed the contents of the bowl before scarfing it down happily leaving it with a tummy full of food and a smile on its face, "Well i guess we found out what the feller eats, if its apples you love then you found the right place to stay partner, " after saying this her little companion starts bouncing out of excitement before it suddenly starts glow, when the light fades they take notice to how much the little ball of fur has changed into another fur ball but instead of purple its blue with a big M on its head, it has cat ears and a cat tail, "I sure hope that there is normal ".
At Sugar Cube Corner events were different from the past three
Pinkie Pie, unlike her friends had stayed up all night eagerly awaiting her egg to hatch and when time finally came she was as giddy as a school filly, she became twic-, "Um mister narrator sir can I be THREE times as excited, " uh..she became three times as excited as before when she saw what popped out of the egg.
"YOU ARE JUST TOOOOO CUTE ohmygoshohmygoshyoulooklikechocolateiwonderwhattonameyoumaybecoco, " her non-stop talking was paused by the infant in her hooves squirming, when she let it go it began to bounce around wildly like a rubber ball that was thrown across a box shaped room. Without a second of hesitation Pinkie quickly joined her new friend in bouncing till they suddenly stopped with both of them having smelt something good baking downstairs, they then started bouncing again but this time with the intent of finding the smell. "Ooo oo I wonder what smells so yummy I wonder if its cupcake oh or what if its cake, or cookies or what if its all of the above! " she grabbed her bouncy friend and zoomed into the kitchen to find a fresh batch of cupcakes left out to cool. "Hmmmmmmm I guess it wouldn't hurt if you had one eenie teenie tiny cupcake I mean you dooo look hungry enough, " she grabbed the smallest cupcake and put it in front of the bouncy baby who in turn ate it in one bite then bounced towards the pan the others sat on and ate them all one by one, with all the cupcakes eaten the newborn then stopped its hyper activity and fell asleep for a few minutes,"Hmm? that's strange whenever i eat that many cupcakes sleep is the only thing I cant do, " she was about to speak again when suddenly her Pinkie senses kicked in..something was about to happen, but what. Soon the bouncing baby woke up to a smiling Pinkie in it's face but before she could utter a word a bright light caught her by surprise, when it was gone she no longer saw the bouncing baby but a similar bouncing thing with the same three horns, same colored body but it had appeared to have grown. "Whatever happened to you...IT MADE YOU FOUR TIMES AS CUTE!!! " she said as she picked it up and held it in a tight hug.
However things were not so exciting at rainbow dashes cloud home, her egg was missing
"Where is it where is it where is it!! " when Rainbow Dash had woken up she woke up to a shock her egg wasn't where she left it, in fact it was no where in her house no where she could think of to look anyway, "this isn't good not one bit, oh if Twilight finds out I lost that egg shes gonna-" before she could finish her sentence she spotted something that resembled her egg but it wasn't in her home no it was in the claws of a griffon. Without a second to waste she blasted out of her door at breakneck pace and straight down at the thief, when she had him in her sight she put all caution to the wind and went full speed slamming into him and sending her egg rolling till it safely sat itself in a pile of hay. After scaring off the egg thief Rainbow flew down to her egg and picked it up holding it in her hooves to see if it were damaged, at first her heart seemed to stop because there was a crack in her egg but she regained her composure once she saw it wasn't broken..but instead it was hatching. What came out of the egg even made Rainbow Dash want to saw aw.
"Whoa if I knew you would be so cool looking I would've said that egg I picked was forty percent cooler, " she rubbed the little one on its top. "Only question now is how fast are you kiddo, " with this being said the baby got a daring look on its face and hopped out of her hoof, it then took off as fast as it could although it wasn't very fast it was a lot faster than she first anticipated, "Whoa for something without and legs or wings that was pretty fast, " said rainbow dash as she praised the hatching. Having heard the praise the baby made a squealing noise out of its over all excitement, it seemed to shake with hyper activity and energy. Rainbow dash turned around for a moment to think about something when suddenly her train of thought was cut off by a shining light , when the light died down she turns around to find an all new creature. It stood on 2 little legs with 2 stubby arms and on its head wasn't one prong shaped object but two making it look like he had horns, "Now that is what I call forty percent cooler ".
And lastly we move on over to the library where Twilight Sparkle is about to wake up face to face with her own little monster
Twilight Sparkle was the last of her friends to wake up and out of any of them she was also the most surprised, she had awoken late in the morning from having stayed most of the night which meant she wasn't quite in the mood for surprises sadly today did not seem to be her day. She awoke to the sound of laughter and it happened to be coming from Spike but before she could go check it out her eyes fell upon the hatched egg. The next thing she did was run upstairs to look, "Spike?! the egg hatched and I cant find i- " she found both things she was looking for her number one assistant and her mystery creature, it looked nothing like she had expected it to look like.
Spike continued to laugh as the mystery creature crawled over him as if were a part of a play ground, "h..hey hahah q..quit it Twilight..make it..make it stop hahah, " Twilight rolled her eyes and used her magic to bring the creature over to her. She brought it up to her eye level to look at it but instead it blasted her in the face with a flurry of small bubbles, making the creature and Spike laugh at her.
"Well I guess there goes the theory hat a super intelligent being laid in that egg..well either way your still cute..whatever you are "gasp" I know lets go do some studies maybe then i can figure out what you are, " she took off with the creature to her study leaving Spike alone.
"Hey what about me!!.. I never get to have any fun with the cool things you bring home" pouted spike as he crossed his arms and sat on the floor.
In her study Twilight was looking the creature over at every possible angle getting an image of its whole shape in her head to memorize for later. "Strange you seem to be composed of a gelatinous substance but your also solid and you have to possess some for of digestive track I mean where else did you pack away that sandwich I had planned to eat for lunch, " she looked over the notes she took when she felt something rub against her, the same creature whom squirted bubbles in her face for amusement was now cuddling up against her. She could feel a warmth coming from within it a warmth she and her friends we're very familiar with,Friendship . She then got an idea, she picked up a quill with her magic and began writing, the letter stated this.
Dear Princess Celestia,
It has come to my attention that an anomaly has occurred in Ponyville and possibly other areas of Equestria. My friends and i stumbled across 6 eggs which had been thrown from very rift that spread across the entire night sky last night, each one of us took an egg home though by now I'm sure my egg isn't the only egg to have hatched by now. From what I've pulled together so far I've concluded that the creatures whom resided inside the eggs are anything but hostile, in fact they're quite friendly and cute at that but never mind that the creatures themselves must come in different shapes and sizes as the eggs were different in design. They also seem to carry the warmth that is friendship inside them from what I have felt inside the creature in my possession. Now onto the final matter about last nights light show, we saw more than just the eggs crash towards the ground we saw what seemed to be hundreds maybe thousands of more lights. I fear more creatures came along with these eggs I bring this up cause some of them may not be hostile while others might be very aggressive and even violent. I send this letter as an informant so that an answer as to what the creatures are and where they come from, can be found,

Twilight sparkle "
"There all done number one assistant if you will send this to the Princess immediately ," with no question asked Spike did as he was asked and sent the letter to the princess, "With that out of the way it's time to get back to the studies, " she turned to investigate her little creature again only to find it wasn't looking so well.
"Twilight what did you feed him? he looks sick, " chided spike.
"I..I only gave him some of my sandwich he seemed happy with it I wonder whats wrong with him, " their pondering was cut short by a bright flash. When the light died down there was no longer a little blob but what stood there made both Twilight and Spike's jaws drop. the green baby blob had changed into a pink thing with two big round eyes a small mouth and two little arms.
And for a split moment while all these events were going on the members of the Main Six said the exact same words at the Exact same time.
" What and Who are you exactly?!
To Rarity the pink rabbit eared creature said, "My names Koromon! "
To Fluttershy the horned fur ball said "I'm Tsunomon! "
to Applejack and Apple bloom the blue cat creature said "My name is Wanyamon, "
To Pinkie Pie the chocolate covered bouncing creature said " Hiya! my names!!! KOKOMON!! "
To Rainbow Dash the blue lizard like creature said in a squeaky voice " My names Demiveemon and I'm the coolest! "
And lastly to the awestruck Twilight sparkle the pink being stated "Greetings my name is Motimon, "
The digimon stated one thing at the same time
" And I'm A Digimon! a Digital monster!!

The Tip of the Digital Iceberg
Last time in the story,
" I'm A digimon, a digital monster!!
Cue Digimon theme song
At the Library with Twilight, Spike and the newly digivolved Motimon.
"Y...You you..changed?!! but how?! this is impossible?! " having just witnessed the metamorphosis, Twilight had began to panic not knowing what happened. "I've..I've never heard of this happening before and you spoke.. wait you spoke.., " she quickly grabbed a piece of paper and a quill with her magic, "Alright I want you to tell me just who and what are you, what were those eggs? ". The newly changed monster took a minute to think then opened its mouth to answer.
"OK then, ahem My name is Motimon I am a digimon, or as some call us a digital monster, those eggs you and your friends brought home were me and my friends, " the digimon began to explain to her how he changed or as he called it " digivolved". "For how I changed it's simple, it took two factors for a digimon such as myself and my friends to digivolve ".
"And that factor would be?!? " twilight asked almost very impatiently, "Oops sorry just a bit excited, " she said as sweat ran down her forehead.
"It's understandable miss sparkle, I myself would be excited upon meeting something I've never seen before, " he stated. He squirmed his way closer to her, "As I was saying the factors that made me digivolve was the energy the food you gave me supplied me with, and the friendship you gave me, you see certain digimon require different factors to digivolve but most baby digimon only need a strong bond to digivolve, " he looked at her making sure she was getting all of this.
Twilight looked at him for a minute then realized something, this strange creature that she had never met in her life knew who she was, "[Wait a second how the hay do you know my name you only just met me, and how did we build a strong bond over a an hour or two ". There were so many many questions going on in her head that it confused even Twilight, luckily her new friend was willing to answer all of them.
He cleared his nonexistent throat and started pacing back and forth as if he were a teacher giving a lesson, "Those can easily be answered Twilight, for starters how I know your name, well we were destined to meet I was sent here with my friends to meet your friends..although I don't know why, and as for the bond it may have been a few hours that you remember but the whole time I sat next to you in my egg on your bed I began to develop a strong bond, I could feel a strong sense of friendship deep inside you and I slowly took it in and that's what started this bond ". The more Motimon explained the more understanding Twilight became of the scenario, although one thing still stayed in her thoughts as the tiny pink being spoke, what did he mean by " we were destined to meet", these words confused her. The more Motimon spoke the more Twilight couldn't help but stare at him, " and thats where a digi-egg comes from.. hey were you listening?!," whined Motimon.
Twilight shook her head to regain her focus before nodding, "Y..yes I'm listening , sorry I just couldn't help but stare your so..intriguing, "gasp" I wonder what the other's eggs hatched and digivolved into! " she scooped up her pink companion with her magic placing him on her head and she rushes out the door leaving poor spike still unconscious on the floor.
Meanwhile at Rarity's boutique
Rarity took a moment to compose herself, having experienced a great deal of shock from the sudden transformation. After taking a few deep breaths she looked at the bouncing pink creature and spoke in an ever so polite tone not wanting to offend the new creature, "Pardon my confusion but a digi-what? I don't believe I've ever heard of such a creature..although you are simply adorable, I have never seen or heard of anything like you, " said Rarity trying to remain calm so not to startle the creature.
"I said..., " the creature took a breathe, "My names Koromon and I'm..a Digimon! or as some people say digital monsters but I prefer Digimon It's a lot easier to say, " Koromon said in a very excited tone, reminding Rarity of a certain pink earth pony. The pink ball shaped creature went to go back to gorging himself on cat food but before he was able to get even a nibble he was levitated onto the kitchen counter which left him with a pouting face like a filly or foal who just got their favorite toy taken away.
She couldn't help but smile at the face he was making because it reminded her of the face Sweetie Belle made when she didn't get her way, but before the adorable face could fully distract her she shook her head to regain her focus, "Now hold on a minute young..monster, um what exactly is a digimon? " she asked in a very confused tone.
"Well..It's what I am but that's as much as I know to be honest if you want to know more you could try asking my friend Motimon I know he got sent here with me but I don't know where, " he said in a disappointed tone before instantly brightening up, "I do know one thing...I'm starving, so Rarity could I please have some more food, " begged Koromon.
Rarity could almost facehoof at the answer he gave, it not being much help and all, "Now hold on just one moment mister, I'll feed you after one question, how in Equestria do you know my name I know I'm well known around Ponyville but you were only hatched just this morning, you are still that baby aren't you, " she slowly questioned him before awaiting an answer.
"Of course I'm still me who else would I be, I mean I only digivolved, I mean It's no big deal..and if you don't know what digivolving is then that's an easy one that even I could answer, " answered Koromon as he continued to bounce up and down. His answer only left Rarity waiting for what he meant, but she knew she wasn't getting anything out of the childish creature unless he was fed so she gave in and placed a bowl of assorted foods in front of him not knowing what the pink ball ate, not that it mattered cause he ate it all in just a few bites, "Wow that was good thank you Rarity, " he said with a big smile that stretched across his whole body. "OK I'll answer aaany question you got, starting with how i know who you are, " he began his explanation. "Well It's simple...we were destined to meet yep yep that's true I don't know why but that's how I know who you are, that and some of the customers today said your name, and on the matter of digivolving, it means I got bigger and stronger thanks to the love and friendship you've shown me along with the energy the food gave me, " he answered in what to her sounded like the happiest voice tone she had ever heard from anypony.
It didn't take much time for her to comprehend the meaning of everything he was saying, "You mean it was my caring and friendship that made you change, " he moved his whole body up and down to nod to her question. "My you certainly are a fascinating little monster aren't you I guess I made a good choice picking you who knows what else laid inside of those other eggs ".
"Other eggs?....oh you must mean my friends, they came here with me," he happily answered, " Can we go and see if we can find them please Rarity, " begged Koromon, he even made the cutest puppy dog eyes to go along with his begging.
Being unable to resist the adorable look he was giving her she lifted him onto her back and set off to find them, "But you need to be careful I won't have you getting dirty if your staying with me you should at least have a little class, " she said as they went on their way.
At Fluttershy's cottage right after Punimon digivolved into Tsunomon
Fluttershy couldn't help but stare at the marvel that happened before her eyes, it was like a filly or foal witnessing a butterfly hatching from its cocoon for the first time, "What's the matter Fluttershy you look like you just saw a ghost, " he began to speak to her which surprised her even further. "Is there something on me?! oh no get it off get it off!!! " he began to comically squirm around in circles panicking for no good reason. His cries were enough to snap Fluttershy out of her trance like state.
Her loving instincts took over as she lifted the screaming creature into her hooves and rocked him back and forth to calm him down, in her naturally soft voice she began to speak to him, "It's OK little one there's nothing on you, so there's no need to be afraid, besides I'm here for you so even if there was something nasty or scary on you I wouldn't let it hurt you, " she acted as brave as can be to help consul he frightened creature. "Um...o..one question what are you, " was all she could get out.
A big smile came to the once frightened creatures face, "I'm Tsunomon a digimon, and It's because of you that I was able to digivolve, " he stated happily although this confused her further.
"Um...excuse me but whats a digimon I've never heard of an animal like that before and i know almost all the animals in the Everfree Forest, " she said still not getting it.
He took a deep breath and then spoke, "It means digital monster, " the word monster however, only made her frightened. "Hey it's OK I wont hurt you Fluttershy most of us are really nice in fact I got sent here with some friends I'm sure you'd love to meet, " Fluttershy however knew what he was talking about but at the moment like her friends before her, she was curious as to how this little creature who was no more than a day old to her understanding knows who she is when she hasn't had her name said all day.
She gulped and took a deep breath to keep her composure, "Y...you know who I am?? "
"Of course I do we're destined partners after all, that's how you knew to take my egg, " he looked up at her, "that's also how I digivolved, it was your kind heart and love that allowed me to change well that and the yummy food you gave me, " he said keeping the big grin on him. Fluttershy smiled at his words and giggled at the part about food before heading to the door with him.
"Let's go find your friends I bet their really worried about you, " she hadn't really understood what he meant by her love made him grow but a part of her told her that keeping and helping the little horned creature was the right thing to do. With Tsunomon giving a nod of agreement they were out and about on their way to find his friends.
At Sugar Cube Corner a very happy Pinkie Pie and a very Happy kokomon bounced around one another greeting each other over and over.
"Ohmygoshohmygosh!!! you are so much cuter than before and look you jump higher!! " she squealed in excitement. With a long pause and a loud gasp she realized that she was talking to a new resident of Ponyville, "I almost forgot!! Welcome to Ponyville!! I'm gonna throw you the beeeeeeeest party..EVER!!, " but before she could sprint off to start planning she was stopped by her bouncing companion.
He had bounced in front of her to stop her in her tracks, "WAIT!!!!, " it squealed in its high pitch voice, "WE can't throw a party yet I gotta find my friends they're here somewhere too ".
His pleas did not go unheard as she looked at him with a rather goofy but understanding face, then her face turned into slight confusion, "Saaaay...whats's your name cause before you didn't tell me, Ooo oo I bet its something cool like nitro or rex or- " her ranting was cut short by his answer.
"I'm Kokomon!!! " he said in a loud gleeful voice as he continued to bounce about, his name alone was enough to cause her to let out another loud gasp.
She seemed to bounce faster upon hearing his name, "Your name has koko in it!!!!! Doyoutastelikechocolateyoulooklikechocolateibetyoudoletstestitrightnow!!! " She said speaking at an alarming rate which didn't seem to bother her bouncing buddy. She took it upon herself to lick her new friend to test her theory though he didn't taste like chocolate it did make kokomon giggle and laugh. "Hmm you don't taste like chocolate but you don't taste bad either....oh well, " she simply shrugged the thought off before letting her companion bounce onto her head before bouncing themselves downstairs and into Ponyville, "Let's find your friends my little digi-buddy, " and with that they were off.
Inside Applejacks house at Sweet Apple Acres.
Both Applejack's and Applebloom's mouth hung open wide at what they just witnessed, the little purple furball had changed into what looked like a blue cat rolled into a ball. "Now what in tarnation just happened, Applebloom get back we don't know if this critter is dangerous or not, " she said as she defensively raised her hoof in front of her younger sister. She noticed this action brought a sad look to the kittens face.
"There's no reason to be scared I'm yer friend Applejack you hatched me yerself, " the young creature sounded as if it were mimicking Applejack's accent. It's tiny voice made Applebloom saw aw and brought a small apologetic smile to Applejack's face. "See I'm just a friendly little kitten but you can call me Wanyamon, I'm a digimon, " he started to explain but was cut off by a question.
"What the hay is a digimon? sounds like a word Twilight would make up, say what's a digimon youngin, care explaining," Applebloom nodded wanting an explanation as well.
Wanyamon licked the bowl the applesauce once sat in then began to speak, "Digimon are super strong digital monsters like me, some of us are heroes, while some of us are baddies who are downright no good, but don't ya worry about me, me and all mah friends are good guys, " he said with much pride in his voice. Applejack just laughed at how proud he sounded of himself with her knowing that feeling herself. " Say what's so funny was it somethin I said, hey I'm not lyin I always tell tha truth It's DemiVeemon who fibs all tha time, Yep I'm as honest as can be one hundred percent of the time, " he stated with even more pride in his voice.
Applejack just let out a few more chuckles at the little ones misunderstanding of her laughing , "Now now hold yer horses I wasn't accusin yah of nothin just laughin cause in a way you remind me of mahself always proud to be helpin ma friends and always tellin the honest to Celestia truth ".
"Yeah my sister's the most honest pony in all of Ponyville she'd never lie even if her life depended on it, just ask anypony in town, " added Applebloom.
The sisters got curious again wondering how he changed but before they could ask he started looking around as if he had lost something. "whatchya lookin for little feller,whatever it is I can always help ya find it, " Applejack offered to the small feline.
He responded with this, "It's not what I'm lookin fer, It's who I'm lookin fer, Yah see I came here with five friends, I don't know why we were sent here but we were, can yah help, " he didn't need to beg because Applejack knew what he was looking for. She knew he meant the other five eggs.
"Yah wouldn't happen to be referrin to a bunch of eggs would yah, " she noticed how big his eyes got when she brought the eggs up, that's where she got her answer. "I know just the ponies to look fer then cmon then and we'll find yer pals and maybe I can get an explanation as to what the hay have I seen today, cause to tell the truth...I'm downright confused, " they shared a chuckle before Wanyamon hopped onto her back. "yah safe and tight back there? " with a nod for conformation they were off to find Wanyamon's friends.
Right underneath Rainbow Dash's cloud.
Rainbow Dash's reaction was similar to Pinkie's as it wasn't shock as much as it was excitement, she picked up the little blue lizard and stared at it with a big smile on her face, "That is so cool!, you like all changed and stuff, look you even got legs now, now your really ready for some speed, " she continued to look the creature over before her curiosity got the best of her and she asked the little lizard a question, "Saaaaay, whats your name little guy, " asked Rainbow dash , not really expecting to get an actual answer from the baby creature, but the real shocker to her was that it actually answered her.
In a squeaky voice it spoke its name and what it was, "My names DemiVeemon and I'm a digimon, in fact I'm the coolest of all the digimon, " it bragged. For some reason this little monster reminded her of a younger version of herself, "But from what your heart has told me no ones cooler than you rainbow dash, and before you ask how I know your name let me answer you ". She liked this little thing he went straight to the point, "I know you cause your heart told me who you were and it wasn't wrong, you were so awesome saving me from that big bird cat, the awesomest infact! " seemed like Rainbow Dash had a natural born fan.
She smiled at his innocence and his words, "That's cute kid your not half bad yourself, " these words brought great joy to the freshly digivolved DemiVeemon, "Your lucky it was me who picked you out cause I'm gonna teach you how to be awesome, not that your not awesome enough but you can never be TOO awesome, " then she pondered his other words, her heart helped him hatch and change, "Hey um DemiVeemon was it? what you said about my heart making you like this...did it really?? " she asked in a bemused matter. The little digimon nodded, "One last thing..what's a digimon? "
DemiVeemon seemed especially excited to answer this question, "Digimon are only the coolest things there are our name means digital monster, " stated the little blue monster. "We're the coolest monsters there are and the toughest too, you thought I was cool now wait till I digivolve again or wait till we find my friends and we'll all digivolve now that will be awesome!! " however his words brought more confusion to Rainbow Dash.
"Wait you mean you and your friends can change again...THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!!! " she shouted in excitement. "Well come on then I'm sure old egghead has already gathered the others lets beat them there!, " she put him on her back and made sure he was hanging on tight before taking off leaving a long rainbow trail behind her that quickly dissipated the further she got.
In the center of Ponyville as all 6 teams were arriving, not all was what it seemed.
As soon all 12 of them neared the center of Ponyville a fire caught their attention but it was no natural fire, cause thee was too much panic coming from the spot for one little fire. The main six eventually met up but before hellos could be said they got a good look at what everyone was running from. A tall red reptile that anyone could mistake for a dinosaur, was making a mess of Ponyville.
Right as Twilight was about to ask what the creature in question was all six in-training digimon hopped off their pony friends backs and rushed forward, "It's a Tyrannomon, every stay back we got this!!, " said Motimon as he and the others charged forward feeling that their friend's lives were in danger. And right as they were about 10 feet away from the rampaging digimon all 6 of them began to glow.
What they were about to see left all but Twilight awestruck, "Girls...I think we've only hit the tip of the iceberg in understanding whats going on ".

Hey there bronies and pegasisters, sorry if its shorter than the last two chapters It's just that I'm making this chapter the first part to the next one.
Digital Champions
Recap "It's a Tyrannomon, everyone stay back we got this!!," said Motimon as he and the others charged forward feeling that their friend's lives were in danger. And right as they were 10 feet away from the rampaging digimon all 6 of them began to glow.
What they were about to see left all but Twilight awestruck, "Girls...I think we've only hit the tip of the iceberg in understanding whats going on.
Ponyville, right as the action is going down.
The mane six save for Twilight, were at a loss of words from what they were witnessing. Even Rainbow Dash who had been informed that they could digivolve more than once was speechless.
They began to change one at a time starting with little Motimon. "Motimon digivolve to!! " the light grew brighter until it died down with Motimon no longer there but instead a new digimon.
The new digimon lifted It's back carapace letting loose electricity, "Tentomon!! "
The next one to glow was Koromon, "Koromon digivolve to!! " again the same light shined from the little monster making him grow in size and shape.
Once the light faded showing no sign of the pink ball with ears, in its place stood a yellow dragon like digimon who spat fire at the ground once his transformation was complete, "Agumon!! "
The next baby digimon's light to get brighter was the excited light blue lizard who was befriended by Rainbow Dash, "DemiVeemon digivolve too!! " he too grew in shape and size as his light shined erratically.
When the light grew dark it revealed a new light blue lizard like digimon, "Veemon!!! " he excitedly hopped in place , his fist raised showing his itching for a fight.
Tsunomon's light was the next to grow exceedingly bright and his body began to alter like the others, "Tsunomon digivolve to! " He grew a body just as the others had.
His body formed into one similar to the freshly evolved Agumon but unlike the dragon digimon, he had formed canine like features and even kept his horn although it had changed as well, "Gabumon!! " he struck a tall and proud pose as he readied himself for battle.
The cycle of digivolution hadn't stopped there, the next one to change shape and size was Pinkie Pie's bouncing buddy kokomon, "Kokomon digivolve to! "
Kokomon had changed into a short rabbit like creature, still retaining his three horns but his most notable feature were his ears, they were they were bigger than he was, "Lopmon!! " He bounced out of excitement then a serious look took covered his face as he turned towards the rampaging dinosaur.
And last but not least to digivolve was little Wanyamon, and with his light shining as bright as can be he morphed like the others, "Wanyamon digivolve too!! "
Once the glow faded to nothingness the blue bipedal canine that was Wanyamon hits his fist together and howls, " Gaomon!!"
The main six's stares of awe and wonder grew at the sight of their newly digivolved companions. The very thing they had witnessed had nearly made them forget the rogue digimon who was terrorizing Ponyville, almost. It's roar caught their attention as they saw it charging right at them. The six of them braced for the inevitable as the berserk digimon got closer. A purple dome covered them in hopes of protecting themselves, Twilight Sparkle, who was the pony holding the barrier up was straining with the amount of magic she was putting into the dome. "I just pray to Celestia that this barrier is enough, " Twilight said in a strained voice. The rampaging Tyrannomon was even closer now with no intent of coming to a halt, when suddenly a fireball struck the dinosaur in the side of the head knocking him off course.
"Take that you digi-reject, " Agumon said as he raised his claw, "And while your at it, have another!!, Pepper Breath!! " a fireball shot from Agumon's maw striking Tyrannomon directly in the face. This however only seemed to anger the Tyrannomon, who in return unleashed his own deadly fire breath, forcing Agumon and the others to evade the attack.
Poor Gabumon just barely dodged it getting part of his fur coat singed, "Hey watch it someone could get seriously hurt like that, let's see how you like it, Blue Blaster!!" A stream of ice-like flames fires from his mouth hitting Tyrannomon in the chest. Agumon joined in on the assault firing a barrage of pepper breaths at it as well. The Tyrannomon roars into the air before charging at the two attacking digimon, just barely missing them and ramming into a building which infuriates him more. "This guy is like a bad itch that wont go away, Blue Blaster!!! " the icy flames hit the enraged dinosaur while hes dazed from hitting the building.
"Your telling me ,I'm throwing everything i got into these shots, Pepper Breath!! " the fireball makes contact on the side of the Tyrannomon's face, blinding him in the burnt eye. Tyrannomon shakes his head, shaking off his daze before turning towards the rookie digimon, scraping his foot across the ground.
Before Tyrannomon had a chance to take off he saw Veemon running at him, "Vee Headbutt!! " like a rocket Veemon launches himself headfirst into Tyrannomons gut, the sudden impact making the larger dinosaur digimon double over onto his knees.
Rainbow Dash couldn't help but cheer for her digital buddy, "Whew!! Way to go!..uh.., " she paused.
Twilight looked at her and helped her finish what she was going to say, "Veemon, " she said in a hushed tone but to where the other members of the Mane Six could hear her.
"Yeah what she said, Way to go Veemon!! " Rainbow Dash yelled in an excited tone.
Before he could accept the praise Veemon had to hop back, barely evading a claw swipe from the downed Tyrannomon, "And stay down fossil face ". A bolt of electricity flew right over his head striking the downed digimon again, Veemon turned to see who nearly hit him, "HEY!! WATCH WHO YOUR FIRING AT, YOU NEARLY ZAPPED ME!!! " Veemon yelled in a comical manner at the digimon who nearly fried him.
"My apologies I miscalculated my aim, " Tentomon apologized in a sheepish tone, then his gaze returned to Tyrannomon who was finally managing to stand again. "Super Shocker!!" yelled Tentomon as he fires a stream of electricity from his wings, zapping the Tyrannomon knocking it onto one knee. "I believe I have a solution to this quarrel, if we all attack together we may be able to bring this behemoth down, " Tentomon stated, getting a nod of approval from the other digimon. "Then everyone on the count of three, " the digimon tensed up getting ready for one last strike. "One...two..., " the tension in the air was so thick at this point that it could be cut with a knife. "Three, everyone attack!! Super Shocker!!!" Tentomon was the first to attack firing his signature electric attack zapping Tyrannomon.
Agumon was up to bat next, "Pepper Breath!!! " Agumon shouted as he fired a barrage of fireballs exploding on impact with the weakened digimon.
Gabumon wasted no time in joining, "Blue Blaster!!! " his icy flames were the next thing to hit Tyrannomon.
Lopmon started winding up his ears at a rapid rate like a propeller, "Tiny Twister!!! " (Yes this is a real technique used by Lopmon ) the small but powerful tornado sends Tyrannomon into a short daze.
Gaomon ran at his top speed and lunged at the dazed monster, "Gao Rush!!! " right as he gets up close to Tyrannomon he released a flurry of high speed punches into the digimon's gut, before bouncing away.
The attacks continue giving Tyrannomon no time to recover, each one pushes him further against a wall more and more and before its too late he spots a blue projectile coming right for him. "Vee Headbutt!!! " putting as much power as he can into it Veemons headbutt makes contact with Tyrannomon's chest sending him through the building he was against which in turn collapses on him,kicking up a cloud of dust.
Having heard all the commotion stop Fluttershy pops her head out of her hiding spot, "I..Is it..over, " Fluttershy whispered in her usual hushed tone.
The only response from any of them came from Twilight, "I..I don't know, " she along with the rest of the Mane Six and digimon kept their eyes glued on the dust waiting for it to clear to reveal to results of the combat.

Misunderstandings and Proper Introductions
In The Center of Ponyville
As the smoke began to clear, the tension seemed to get even thicker, so thick that poor Fluttershy could barely keep herself from panicking, I...is it over.., " she squeaked,too scared to move out form behind the safety of her friends.
Only Twilight responded to her question, " I, I'm not sure... " . Their eyes never left the clearing smoke, Twilight wanted so badly to get her friends away from the scene as much as possible, but didn't want to leave the digimon's sides, she didn't know if they really could handle the monster had it not been beaten.
" Hey I think I see something, " Agumon said, he squinted his eyes as best as he could, trying his hardest to see through the slightly thick smoke.
The smoke soon began to give away, the sound of coughs could be heard from within, soon followed by the image of the big red dinosaur digimon, sitting up, and rubbing his head. " What?! There's no way he could still be up after everything we gave him! " Gabumon exclaimed.
The Tyrannomon began coughing some more, almost as if he were trying to make words out, the coughing continued for a whole minute before he finally spoke. " Owww...My Aching head..," he rubbed the side of his head with his clawed hands, the sight of him in such a perfectly fine condition baffled the digimon, they had given it everything they had, but he wasn't even scratched, but what baffled them even more was the fact that he didn't even seem hostile anymore. He looked at them for a few moments and blinked a few times before getting an extremely surprised look on his face, " Hey wait a digi-second, I can talk again, I can talk!! " He got up quickly and began hopping around, shaking the the ground, and everything on it.
" H...hey!! easy big guy!! " Agumon cried out.
" Yes please if you would mind, not causing an earthquake, that would be highly appreciated, " pleaded Tentomon.
" Wha...what's going on, one second hes trying to fry all of them, now hes giddier than Pinkie Pie at a bake sale, it makes no sense! " Twilight said in a slightly confused, yet frustrated tone.
Applejack put her hoof on her friend's shoulder, trying to calm her down, " Calm down sugar cube, whatever happened, just be glad it ended this way, he could still be rampagin like a bull at the rodeo, " the rest of her friends nodded in agreement at her statement.
It was Pinkie who spoke up next, " Say I got an idea, Fluttershy, your faaaaaantastic with animals, so it's only natural that you'd be fantastic with digimon!, why not trying asking mister grumpasauraus what was wrong with him, and why he's dancing now, pleasepleasepleaseprettyplease!! " she begged continuously to her shy friend, much to her own dismay.
" I...I could try..I don't exactly know what to ask him though...., " She said while still slightly quivering.
Gabumon watched as his friend and partner Fluttershy slowly flew towards the celebrating dinosaur digimon, " F..fluttershy stop we don't know if hes still dangerous or not! " he rushed to her side just to make sure she stayed safe.
Tyrannomon stopped his parading when he caught glimpse of the yellow pony who was floating in front of his snout, sitting down as quickly as he had gotten up, "Oops, this is embarrassing, " he blushed slightly from the fact that someone had witnessed his not-so-great dancing.
" Um, e...excuse me mister um..um ," she stammered, not exactly remembering what the digimon had called him.
" Tyrannomon, " Gabumon reminded her.
She nodded to him before looking back at the red dinosaur before her, "...Mister Tyrannomon...w...why were you destroying our town a few moments ago..b..but now your celebrating as if n..nothing happened? " she questioned.
He sat there for a moment, scratching his chin with one of his claws before replying, " Let's see, " he started, " The last thing I remember was watching a light show in the digital world, I was on a mountain I believe, the next thing I know, I'm in some forest, and before I get a chance to explore, I felt something hit me in the back of my head, and, now I'm here, " .
Fluttershy nodded as she took in every word of his story, flying towards the back of his head to get a better look, " All I see back here is what looks like a nasty bug bite,....oh well...as long as you're back to your old self..a..and not destroying ponyville anymore, " again, her friends nodded in agreement. " If..if you want, you can go back to my cottage and stay there until we find out where you came from ".
Fluttershy's offer was cut short however by Twilight cutting in, " Fluttershy, as much as that would be the nice thing to do, I think it would be better to take him to the Everfree forest, at least there he won't be bothered by any ponies who might mistake him for a monster, and you can check up on him too, " she stated.
Gabumon nodded in agreement to Twilight's propsition, " I agree with her Fluttershy, besides, I think your cottage would be a little cramped with both me, and Tyrannomon ".
A small blush came to Fluttershy's face as she thought of what Gabumon was saying, she didn't really think about how she'd fit such a big monster in her little home, " Well...alright then...a..at least let me guide this poor little guy there..alright? " Twilight let out a small sigh before nodding, resulting in a tiny hoof clap from her shy friend.
They watched as both Fluttershy and Gabumon led the large dinosaur out of town and towards the forest, " That Fluttershy, she could be friendly to the scariest of monsters, " Applejack said.
" You can say that again partner, " Gaomon walked towards Applejack, he held a proud look upon his face for successfully defending his new best friend. " I know I already said this before, but ya can call me Gaomon, if yer lookin for a mon who can tussle, then ya picked the right partner, partner, " he held up one of his fist while wearing a proud grin.
" Hahah, well then, Gaomon, it's nice to officially meet ya, " Applejack replied while placing her hoof on her canine friend's shoulder.
Tentomon flew towards Twilight, landing in front of her and looking her in the eyes, " Greetings Twilight, allow me to officially introduce myself now that this is over, my name is Tentomon, I'll be glad to help you in any form or way no matter how demeaning it is, " he spoke in a very intellectual tone, moving his claws about as he spoke.
Twilight gave a small smile as she looked at her new insect friend, " Well Tentomon, it's a pleasure to meet you, I hope we can be friends for a long time, you were very brave just then ".
" Oh it was nothing, now please refrain form speaking in that tender tone, you're making me blush, and I don't even have cheeks, " Twilight giggled as he waved his arms frantically.
Veemon and Rainbow Dash eyed each other over several times before looking each other in the eye and smiling, but Veemon was the first to speak out of the two of them, " I was Pretty awesome there wasn't I, I'm Veemon, the most awesome digimon around, " he went to puff out his chest and flex, only to fall backwards onto his tail.
Rainbow Dash let out a small chuckle before helping him up, " Yeah that was pretty sweet, especially how you used your head to nail him right in the stomach and knock the wind out of him, " she pattered her light blue buddy on the head while they both grinned.
Rarity blinked a few times as she looked at Agumon, who himself, wore a goofy smile on his face, " A..are you really little Koromon...? " she skeptically questioned.
" Yep, sure am! " Augmon replied gleefully, " But in this form you can call me Agumon, cause that's my name, and it's nice to finally meet my best friend as myself! " he was almost as cherrful as Pinkie Pie usually is, just, without the erratic movements.
" I'm, your best? but you've only known me since you hatched, which to be honest wasn't that long ago , does it have something to do with you saying we were destined to meet? " Rarity pondered out loud.
" Mhm, that's exactly why I digivolved again, I knew that big bully would try and hurt you the second he saw you, so using whatever energy I could muster, I digivolved into me! " his gleeful tone was enough to make Rarity smile and laugh a little, in a way, he reminded her of sweetie belle and how she gets excited.
" Well then Agumon, " she started with a smile on her face, " I would be honored to call you my best friend, " she pulled her new yellow friend into a big hug, practically squeezing him.
Agumon rubbed the back of his head while blushing slightly, " Aww shucks Rarity, you're making me blush over here ".
Both Pinkie Pie and Lopmon bounced in place as they stared at each other, both as excited as the other, both exhibiting big grins while bouncing, " You are so cute!!! " Pinkie practically shouted.
" I know so are you!!!! We're gonna be the best best best best bestest friend in the whole wide world forever!!!!!!! " he shouted, his bouncing became sporadic and rapid.
Pinkie joined him in the sporadic jumping but stopped in her tracks, stopping lopmon with her, " You need to make me a Pinkie promise on that, can ya do that bestest buddy, " lopmon nodded quickly, " Cross your heart and hope to fly? " he nodded even faster, " Stick a cupcake in your eye? " he began bouncing in place again while nodding. Pinkie's grin grew twice as big as she picked him up in her hooves and began bouncing around everypony, " THEN WE'RE GONNA BE THE BEST BEST BEST BESTEST FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD FOREVER, JUST LIKE YOU SAID!!!!!! " she screamed joyfully, practically rocketing into the air.
Off on the Other Side of Ponyville
Fluttershy and Gabumon were making their way back to the others after having taken Tyrannomon to the Everfree forest where he oculd relax without scaring ponies. Fluttershy looked at her new horned canine friend, smiling as she watched him tend to his "singed" fur, " You um..you know..uh..Gabumon, your fur is just fine the way it is, it's not damaged or anything.., " she said in a timid tone.
" Oh, " he started, " Oh, I um, I know that, it's just that I like taking care of my coat, it's alot better than letting it get all dirty, you must feel that way about your fur, don't you Fluttershy? " he questioned.
She looked at him, and then back at herself, before responding, " ...Well, I guess I do...it's just..I'd rather not let it bother me that much..you know, you're a lot more talkative than you were as tsunomon, " she stated, rather boldly.
" I'm more talkative, is...is that a bad thing? If it is I can change it, you won't hear a peep out of me, " he childishly pretended to zip his lips.
" Oh no not at all! " she exclaimed quickly, " it's just, I didn't expect you to go from a baby to a talking bipedal dog in a single day, it's...well...shocking ".
Gabumon looked at her for a few second, trying his best not to trip on any stones that were along the pathway, " If you'd like Fluttershy, I could de-digivolve back into tsunomon if it made you more comfortable, " he offered.
Fluttershy looked slightly shocked at his proposition, he could change back to the little horned furball that he was before, " You..you don't have to do that Gabumon...just having you as my friend is enough for me, you don't have to change at all if you don't want to....OK? " she gave him a soft smile, reassuring him of her words.
Gabumon gave a big smile of his own and nodded, " Alright Fluttershy, as long as you're happy, I'm happy! " he cheered, only to be interrupted by the sound of his stomach rumbling, causing the canine digimon to blush out of embarrassment.
Fluttershy giggled in response to his stomachs sudden outburst, " Come on now, let's go back to my cottage..you can get something to eat there, " he gave a big nod, and with that, they went off to her little cottage.
In Another Part of the Everfree Forest, Not too far from Ponyville
A group of ponies fled from something large and full of rage near the outskirts of the forest, all they could hear was its rapidly buzzing wings and the sound of it letting out a low intimidating growl from it's deadly maw. They had finally managed to exit the forest, hoping to make it out in one piece, and one piece they did make it out, but not before witnessing as it's crimson jaws sliced through the thick brush that made up the edge of the Everfree forest. They quickly fled, spreading out to lose it's attention, however it seemed to lose interest in them before they had, instead it was more focused on the town itself, it let out a mighty cry before taking off out of the forest, and for the large building in the center of town.

Well hey there ladies and gentlecolts, I'm glad to say that, this fic is officially back in business, after a long while of contemplating whether I was going to continue it, or redo it, I finally decided to take my skills I had built up since I started writing on here, and continue this story you all seem to enjoy so much, and for good reason too, I forgot how much I enjoyed writing this story, well form now on, I'll be writing in it on a regular basis, well as regular as I can try, I just hope you enjoy this chapter, and all the chapters to come.

Twilight's Bug Problem
Ponyville, Near Twilight's Library
Having chosen to head back home to write to the princess, rather than stay and converse with her friends longer than she had planned, Twilight made haste in rushing to her tree home, having tentomon flying behind her at a similar pace. " Twilight if I may, don't you think that you are rushing just a bit? " he asked her, unsure of her motives for being in such a hurry.
She just barely looked back at her insectoid friend, " Because if I don't write to the princess about my findings, something bad might happen if any digimon find their way into Canterlot!! " she replied in a panicked tone.
Tentomon rubbed his head with one of his claws, not quite understanding what she meant, " What ever you do mean Twilight, why would the presence of a digimon cause mass panic, does your world not have monsters in it? "
" That's why they'd panic! " she responded, " Ponies aren't very fond of monsters, especially rampaging ones! I mean, even if Tyrannomon didn't know what he was doing at the moment, that doesn't mean that a digimon like him couldn't cause mass panic, and who knows what the princesses would do to it! " the panic in her voice only got worse the more she thought about it.
" Then maybe you should write the letter, and stop panicking, I don't exactly know who these princesses are, or what a princess is really, but I'm sure they would understand if you explained to them, " Twilight stopped in her tracks as what he was saying sunk into her mind, tentomon relaxed slightly knowing that the panic was leaving his best friend, if he had lips he would surely be smiling.
With a sigh, Twilight began moving again, but at a much slower pace, enough for Tentomon to walk by her side, "You're right Tentomon, I guess panicking would really make this worse, you know for a talking digital monster who was only hatched this morning, you're really smart, " she gave a small smile to her new friend.
" Oh thank you Twilight, but please I'm only as smart as I seem, to be honest, there is a lot of things I still do not understand, for one, what is a princess, " he asked her, at first she thought he was joking, but when he didn't say anything further and kept looking at her, she knew he was serious.
Sweat dropped down Twilight's face as they exchanged looks, she wasn't really sure how to respond, she had never met somepony who didn't know what a princess was, " Well you see Tentomon, a princess is, well...a princess is a pony who holds a high authority above other ponies and uses their magic to protect the ponies that they rule over, " she gave the best explanation she could, while trying to keep it simple for him to understand.
" Ah, I see, " he spoke in an understanding tone, " So in short, they are in charge of the rest of the ponies, and sort of like us digimon, they use their powers to protect the ones they care for, " Twilight nodded in response, letting him know he understood it correctly. " Fascinating, it would seems that there is still much for me to learn, thank you Twilight, being your best friend has opened up new intellectual opportunities for me ".
Twilight smiled at him, " Why thank you Tentomon, I'm glad to have you as my best friend as well, " she stopped upon arriving at the front doorstep of her home, " Here we are, using her magic, she opened the door and let herself and Tentomon in. " You might've seen it when you were smaller, but this is my home, it's not much, but I'd be happy if you would call it home along with me and Spike, " she held out her hoof to him, hoping that he would accept her offer.
Tentomon looked at her hoof for a brief moment, before extending out his claw to touch her hoof, "I would be honored to stay here with you Twilight, after all, where else am I going to stay, I don't exactly know anywhere but here, " Twilight felt like she could fall over from his sudden response, but she was happy nonetheless.
" Twilight you're home!, " Spike shouted as he ran downstairs to greet her, his arms open wide to give her a hug, but he came to a screeching halt upon laying his eyes on what looked like a large two legged lady bug. " AAAAAGH!!! what is that!! " he literally jumped from where he was, onto a nearby bookshelf, " Tw..Tw..Twilight!, there's a big bug next to you!! " he screamed in a panic.
" There is no reason to be afraid Spike, it is simply me, Tentomon, " he said, trying to calm down the panicking purple dragon.
However it only seemed to make Spike panic more, " It can talk to!!, and it knows my name!!! Twilight help!!!! " his panicking was cut off however by Twilight lifting him form the book shelf with her magic, and levitating him in front of her.
" Spike calm down, this is just Tentomon, he was the little pink thing from earlier, and before that he was the little green thing that was using you like a playground, " she stated, trying her best to calm down the baby dragon.
" You mean that thing is um...uh, it starts with an M I think, " he stopped as he tried to remember what the small pink creature said what his name was.
" Motimon, " replied Tentomon.
" Yeah, " Spike exclaimed, " You're telling me that you're little motimon, sheesh what did you eat to become so...buggy? " he was incredibly confused at this point, rather than being incredibly terrified.
" That would be simple, " Tentomon started, " I digivolved to my next level, before I was in-training, now, I'm at my rookie level, " he explained.
" Fascinating, " Twilight was utterly fascinated by how digimon can seemingly enter a metamorphosis so quickly, and if what Agumon said had any credibility, they could revert back to a previous form.
Spike scratched his head, still not really understanding what he meant, but he knew better to ask what he meant, he had made the same mistake several times with Twilight, " Well, anyway, I'm glad that you're back Twilight, and it's uh, glad to officially meet you, um, Tentomon, " Spike extended his hand out to Twilight's insectoid friend, who in turn, placed his claw in the palm of Spike's hand and the two proceded to move their limbs in a shaking motion.
" It is nice to officially meet you too Spike, even though you have already seen me, it is highly understandable," Tentomon turned his attention towards Twilight whom was gathering up a piece of paper along with a quill pen and ink. " Twilight, what exactly are you doing with all of that, " he scratched the side of his head, unsure what his pony friend was doing with so much.
" Ah don't worry about her, " Spike replied for Twilight, " She's just getting stuff to write to the princess, sometimes she writes so hastily that she messes up, and you can't exactly erase quill pen ink, so she needs spare paper ". The two of them watched as Twilight rushed up to her room, practically slamming the door behind her, " It's kinda normal for her to act like this when big stuff happens, " Spike paused his speaking for a moment, scratched his chin for a few moments, before raising his index finger, " Hey I have an idea, I can give you a tour of the library, I mean if you're gonna be staying here, we wouldn't want you to get lost, would we? "
" That would be most kind of you Spike, thank you, let us proceed with this tour, " Tentomon happily agreed, the insect digimon felt right at home living inside of a big tree.
Spike walked Tentomon around the tree house, showing him the main chamber, the kitchen, the bedrooms, and the basement, eventually stopping back in the main room. " Oh yeah, one last thing, " Spike put his index claw and his thumb in his mouth, and proceeded to whistle, and upon whistling, was greeted by an owl that flew down from the ceiling, " This is Owlowiscious, Twilight's pet owl, Owlowiscious, this Tentomon, Twilight's new friend who will be staying here, " Owlowiscious blinked a few times, turned his and replied with a simple " Hoo ".
Twilight was just about done writing her letter, she had sat in front of her window whilst writing, using the sunlight outside instead of using her usual desk lamp, " Aaaaand there, all done, I'm sure this letter will help me get my point across to Princess Celestia, and if it doesn't I'm sure I could introduce her to Tentomon and the others ". Having finished the letter, Twilight used her magic to sit her quill pen to the side, and roll the letter up, but while she was in the middle of preparing her letter to be sent to the princess, the room suddenly became dim, " That's strange, it's not even close to sundow- " Twilight was cut off as a gust of what she thought was hot air hit her from her window, " What the hay was that?! " she froze up when she looked out her window, her blood ran cold as she laid eyes on what was obscuring the sunlight from her room.
Twilight was face to face with the largest insect she had ever seen, what was comparable to a giant red stag beetle, with the largest pincers she had ever seen, it's deep breaths left it's mouth as it stared at the unicorn, " easy now Twilight...m..maybe it hasn't noticed you yet, " she slowly backed away, making her way to the door, inch by inch,but it was too late, she had already been noticed. The giant insect let out a mighty roar, practically shaking the entire tree house along with it, causing Twilight to scream and run towards the door in a panicked frenzy, " SPIKE!!! TENTOMON!!!! HELP!!!! " she came bursting through her bedroom door, diving out of the way as one of it's claws swiped for her.
" Twilight what's wro- AHHHHH!!! " Spike caught glimpse of what had caused the pony he knew best to panic so much, " wh..wha...what is that thing!?!?!? "
" Oh dear not him! " Tentomon exclaimed.
" T...tentomon do you kn..know that thing, " Twilight stuttered from fear, " W...wait if you know it, th..then that things a digimon, maybe it's not in control of it's actions, sorta like Tyrannomon! "
Tentomon shook his head slightly, " No Twilight, this isn't like Tyrannomon, that's Kuwagamon, a no good insectoid digimon whose bad down to the exoskeleton, he uses his pincers to cut through just about anything, he doesn't care who or what he attacks, " he explained.
" Th..then what do we do?! " Spike asked, still frantic from the sheer sight of the digital beast.
" We fight, " was all Tentomon said before flying towards the giant red digimon, " So you like picking on defenseless ponies you big digi-jerk, let's see how you like it, Super shocker!! " he shouted as he released a bolt of electricity from his antenna, striking the larger insect digimon in the face, but it didn't even seem to phase it, " Uh oh, " was all Tentomon could say before the Kuwagamon had grabbed him, and thrown him from inside the tree house.
" Tentomon!!! " Twilight cried out as she fled her house after the smaller bug digimon, managing to run past the feet of the fearsome Kuwagamon. Upon reaching her digimon friend, she helped him back up to his feet, " Tentomon, Tentomon are you ok?! " she asked, still clearly in a panic.
Tentomon nodded, " I'm alright, just one question, whose Tentomon, " he joked, however he didn't have time to follow up, Kuwagamon let out another fearsome roar as he turned towards then, clamping his pincers together, which hit hard enough to make sparks upon contact.
Twilight shook him a little, " This is no time for jokes, we've got to do something, if he gets away from us, he could wreck all of Ponyville! " she panicked.
" Uh Tw...twilight.. " Spike frantically tapped her shoulder, " I don't think he cares about Ponyville, I think he wants us as a snack!! " he took off running as the giant insectoid digimon came ever-so closer towards them.
After shaking his head to regain his composition, Tentomon flew up towards Kuwagamon's face, staring at him before letting loose another super shocker, " I won't just be tossed around like that, here have another , Super shocker!!! " the electricity hit the Kuwagamon's face ever harder, but once again it didn't even scratch it, in response to the pitiful attack against it, the angry Kuwagamon slapped Tentomon away, causing him to go careening into the ground.
" Tentomon No!!! " Twilight cried out once more as she rushed to her unconscious friend, she shook him even more than before, " Tentomon please you need to wake up, I don't know what to do, I've never been put in a situation like this before, you need to get up please!!! " she pleaded, but he was out cold. Twilight's blood ran cold again as the fearsome Kuwagamon now towered over her, lunging it's claw down at her, ready to make her it's next meal, " TENTOMON I NEED YOU!!!!! " she screamed, suddenly, her cutie mark began to glow, along with Tentomon, who rose as if he had never been knocked out.
" Oh my! " Tentomon floated upwards as his body began glowing brightly, " Tentomon digivolve too!!! "
" KABUTERIMON!!!! " he roared out his name as he rose up, catching Kuwagamons claw in one of his own four new claws, using his new found strength, he practically hurled the opposing insect digimon away. He looked as his new body, he had grown taller than the tree house, his body was now blue instead of red, and instead of two claws he had four arms, however he didn't have time marvel at his body for long, Kuwagamon was back up on his feet, and wasted no time in flying towards the brand new Kabuterimon.
Twilight's eyes widened as she stared at the blue beetle digimon standing above her, what was once a large ladybug like create, but still not taller than her, was now towering over her, " T..tenomon?! " she asked out loud.
He looked down at her, gave her a thumbs up and said, " You can call me Kabuterimon now, " he turned his attention towards Kuwagamon, and took off flying right towards him, resulting in the two clashing mid air. Both insect digimon grappled one another, both using their four powerful arms to push against one another, however Kuwagamon wasn't exactly a fair player, and to add more pressure on Kabuterimon, he lunged at him with his pincers, repeatedly, trying to get him to lose his grip. " Listen here bug breath! " he started, " Thrash me around all you want, but don't ever lay a claw on my friend!!! have a taste of this big guy!!!! " he let go of two of Kuwagamon's arms, and crossed them across his upper body, " Electro Shocker!!!! " he cried out as he fired a powerful bolt of electricity from his body, striking Kuwagamon in the abdomen, resulting in him launching backwards and into the ground.
"..Incredible.. " Twilight marveled at her friends strength, watching as it made quick work of the Kuwagamon, whereas before he couldn't as much lay a scratch on him.
Kabuterimon approached the downed kuwagamon, picked him up by his pincers and flew upwards, " Don't come back again, Electro Shocker!! " he fired another bolt of electricity from his body, striking the Kuwagamon in the face this time, making sure he was unconscious. " Now let's take out the trash! " wish a shout he began spinning Kuwagamon around by his pincers, gaining enough speed in his spin before finally letting go, hurling the knocked out digimon far into the Everfree Forest, " That should keep him away, " he landed near Twilight, and suddenly began to glow once more, but instead of growing, he shrank, in fact he shrank back into Motimon. Even he was surprised by this, " Oh dear, it would seem that I used up all of my energy in that battle ".
Twilight walked over to him, picked him up and stared him in the face, or in this case, the body, " You changed back to Motimon, it this what Agumon meant by, you can change back, " Motimon gave a tired nod in response, " And it's cause you ran out of energy, " he gave another tired nod. It was clear to Twilight that her little friend was exhausted, " Let's get you inside before anypony sees you and puts two and two together, " she smiled as she placed him on her back and took him inside, where Spike was waiting for her at, she turned and looked at Motimon who was now asleep on her back, smiled, and simply said, " You are by far the most amazing thing I've ever seen Motimon ".

Two Days Later, Rarity's Fashion Boutique
It was a peaceful day in Ponyville, all was right, nothing was going wrong, nothing that would endanger the town, no giant digital monsters to take care of, just a calm and relaxing day, " Oh no!! this is terrible!!!! " well, almost nothing wrong, the sudden shout came from Rarity's boutique, there, she wasn't having the best of days. Rarity was pacing back and forth rather quickly, her mane was frizzed up with several strands of hair out of place, " OH this is just awful! how am I ever going to get this done now! " she panicked, causing her to pace even faster.
Agumon was sitting a cushion in the same room as Rarity, snacking on a bowl of fruit she had given him, " Rarity if something is the matter I could help you, " he offered.
She rushed over to him and placed her hooves on his cheeks, " Oh my sweet little Agumon I could never ask you to do such a thing, you just sit here and relax while I handle everything, " sweat ran down her face as not even she knew she could handle what was wrong alone.
" But Rarity, " Agumon started, " What's the matter then, why are you so stressed out if you can handle it. "
Rarity took a deep breath, lowered her head and exhaled, before looking back at the yellow dinosaur digimon, " You see Agumon, just this morning I received a letter from a very famous pony named Sapphire shores, she wants me to design an outfit for her next show, but theres only one problem, " she started to look more worried the more she spoke about it.
" And what's the problem Rarity? " Agumon asked.
She did her best to calm herself down before continuing, " The problem is she wants it decorated with gems, not just any gems, only a certain kind of gem that can be found inside of a rather....hot...cave, and I don't know if I could get it today or not, because she wants the dress by tomorrow! " she sounded twice as stressed as before.
" So a little heat is what's stopping you? " he questioned her while munching on an apple from the fruit bowl, spitting a little bit of it out and getting it on his face in the process.
" Agumon sweetie please don't talk with your mouth full, " she levitated a napkin over to them and proceeded to clean his face off before speaking again, " It's not just the heat darling, the cave where the gems she want is located is crawling with diamond dogs, no good thieving, ponynapping cretins who will do just about anything to get their mangy claws on rare gems, even forcing delicate and beautiful ponies as I, to dig them up for them, " she turned her head away slightly, wanting to forget the time she was put in the very scenario she described.
Agumon swallowed the last piece of his fruit in the bowl before standing up, " Don't you worry Rarity, I'll come with you, I can't protect you from the heat, but if any of those diamond dog thingies even come close to you, I'll scorch em'! " he raised his claw, his tone of voice was greatly enthusiastic and he had a sense of valor in his words.
Rarity took a few moments to think over his words, she didn't want to endanger Agumon, since he had hatched the day before she had grown very close to him, he was almost like her very own foal, except more reptilian and less of a pony. However deep down she knew he was strong, he might not have looked it, but she could feel it, " Alright Agumon sweetie, you can go with me, give me a little bit to prepare and then we'll go. " She smiled and proceeded to hug him very tightly, " Oh thank you so much, I know I said I could never ask you to do such a thing, but now that I think of it it would be nice to have a little company in such a dangerous place, " she continued hugging him, similar to how a mother holds her filly or foal.
Before he could say anything at all, Agumon's stomach began growling, causing the yellow dinosaur to blush and rub the back of his head, " Can we get something to eat on the way there, " he had a sheepish smile on his face as he spoke.
A tiny bit of sweat dropped form Rarity's head as she tried her best not to giggle, " Of course we can Agumon but we must hurry, " she grabbed his claw and went straight out the door with him.
However their way through Ponyville was somewhat of an awkward one, while passing through, Agumon received many stares from the ponies populating the town, some out of curiosity, some out of fear, and some of admiration from some of the younger ponies.
Rarity stopped in her tracks and turned to him, before rubbing his head, " It's alright Agumon sweetie, they've just never seen anypony like you before, just stay with me and nothing bad will happen, understand? " she asked, to which he gave nod in response to her request. She gave him a big smile and continued walking with him, " Then let's get going, I promise they won't do anything sweetie. "
Agumon continued to walk alongside her, still feeling uncomfortable from the looks he was receiving, " Whatever you say Rarity, just don't go to fast, " she gave a giggle and a nod, reassuring him of what she said, and with that, the two continued on their way.
Not far behind them however, three little fillies were hiding behind a nearby barrel, spying as the duo made their way out of Ponyville. " Did ya hear if they said they were goin anywhere Sweetie? " One of the three spoke in a hushed whisper.
" I have no clue Applebloom they weren't talking loud enough, " another replied to the first one that spoke.
" Well you two know what that means, " the third voice spoke, sounding slightly sterner but still feminine, compared to the other two.
The filly known as Sweetie Belle scratched her head with her hoof, " Uh not really Scootaloo, could you be a little more specific? "
Scootaloo jumped up on top of the barrel they were using as cover, " Come on you two should know what I'm talking about, we're all thinking of it. "
Applebloom joined her onto the top of the barrel, helping Sweetie Belle up as well, " Yeah I think you're right Scootaloo, we are thinkin the same thin your thinkin. "
The three grabbed each others hooves and took a great leap off the barrel before taking off after Rarity and Agumon, " CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS SISTER TRACKERS!!! "
Scootaloo got a confused look on her face as she trailed along with her two friends, " Cutie Mark Crusaders sister trackers? I know I said we were all thinking the same thing, but is that seriously the best we can come up with? "
Applebloom stopped, shrugged, and continued after her friends, " Beats me? "
" We'll think of a better name later! " Sweetie Belle exclaimed, " Let's just follow Rarity and that weird yellow dragon she's with.
A Little Later, The Gem Mines on the Outskirts of Ponyville
Agumon scratched his head in confusion, he watched as Rarity tiptoed throughout the stony area, as if she were expecting something bad to happen at any moment. " Uh Rarity, what are you doing? Is there something the matter, if so do you need my help? " he asked in an innocent manner.
Rarity shook her head before turning back to face him, " Oh, nothing is the matter Agumon sweetie, just...not right... " concern could be heard in her voice as she frantically looked back and forth.
" Not right? " Agumon repeated her, sounding just as confused as he originally was.
" Yes darling, " Rarity replied, " There are supposed to be a nasty bunch of creatures called diamond dogs around here...but...I don't see them anywhere...or smell them for that matter... "
The curious yellow digimon decided that he would poke around in the area around he and the pony he was accompanying. Rarity had mentioned something about holes being in the surrounding area, but he had yet to even see one, " Rarity I don't really see any holes here, didn't you say something about there being alot of them? "
She gave small nod, " That I did Agumon sweetie. " The more she looked around, the more concerned she became, " Those awful diamond dogs just love digging holes, why, they leave so many that you can't go a few steps without nearly falling into one. " Rarity spoke with disgust in her voice as memories of being their " hostage " came flooding back to her mind.
" Hmm? " something nearby caught Agumon's attention, " Hey what's this? " he shifted a decently sized rock out the way, revealing a grey, bipedal canine, shivering in place as he covered his head. Agumon cupped his claws in front of his mouth, " Hey Rarity! I think I found one! "
The quivering dog peeked one of it's eyes from out of it's paw, resulting in it's eye widening upon laying it on Agumon, " Yikes!!!! Th-th-theres another one!!! " He went to take off running, only to be lifted into the air by a certain unicorn's magic.
Rarity gave a slight grin as she watched the fearful diamond dog trying to flee while held aloft in the air. " Oh would you calm down, Agumon wouldn't hurt a fly.
The sound of the familiar feminine voice caused the dogs eyes to widen further, " M-m-m-m-miss R-Rarity....wh-what a surprise, " his quivering resumed, only twice as fast.
" Say Rarity, " Agumon spoke up, " Why does he look like he's about to have a panic attack? "
Rarity slowly shook her head, " I haven't the foggiest idea Agumon, why don't we ask him, before he passes out that is. " She lowered the diamond dog to her eye level, still feeling slightly amused as he fought to escape her grasp. " So mister diamond dog, why exactly are you hiding behind that rock like a filly during a thunderstorm? "she asked in the nicest voice she could.
" Wh-why was I hiding? I....I wasn't hiding ...I was- " but he was cut off by Rarity shaking him about in the air. " Alright alright I'll talk I'll talk! " Rarity gave a smile of satisfactory upon hearing that, " We....we were down in th-that cave, right over there! " He pointed dramatically, " There had to be a dozen of us! but suddenly...these....things! they came out from everywhere! we tried to fight them off but there were too many of them...and then...and then...and then! " the diamond dog began hyperventilating just from the memory of the experience.
A loud sigh could be heard coming from Rarity and her eyes could be seen rolling, " Alright that's enough, now get out of here you vile thing. "
The two watched the diamond dog scamper off in fear, " I wonder what got him so spooked? " Agumon pondered out loud.
" I'm not sure darling, " Rarity replied, " But what I am sure of is there's something suspicious in that cave. " Rarity rubbed her chin, thinking something over in her head, " I've got it! " she suddenly exclaimed.
" Got what? do you have any idea what got that pooch so frightened? " Agumon asked curiously.
" Oh, nothing darling, " she gave a sheepish smile, " Just realized that I brought the perfect hat for this occasion, it should keep my mane perfectly safe whilst we spelunk about. "
Agumon wasn't quite sure what she meant, but he decided it would be best not to say anything about it. " Well, alright then Rarity, but I think now would be a better time than ever to go into the cave. " The yellow dinosaur gestured towards the very cave that the diamond dog was so terrified of.
" Of course darling, " the way Rarity spoke made it seem as if she didn't want to go into the cave, but whether she did or not wasn't really clear to Agumon. " Who knows, " she started talking as she made her way towards the mouth of the cave, " Perhaps I'll find some lustrous gems lying about in this retched place. "
Her digimon partner gave what she could only assume was a smile, " That's the spirit Rarity, now let's get going. "
She watched him happily trot off into the cave without her, causing her eyes to widen slightly, " A-Agumon sweetie don't run off without me you might get lost! " She amde haste to catch up with him, lest the poor digimon get lost in the darkness of the cave.
Not far away, the three fillies who had previously been following the duo were hidden behind a large rock. " Did you hear what Rarity called that thing Sweetie? " Applebloom asked.
The white filly gave a nod, " She said something along the lines of....Agu...something... " she had heard her sister say it's name, but not as clearly as she would've liked.
" It had an M in it's name I'm pretty sure, " Scootaloo added.
" Nevermind it's name! " Sweetie Belle blurted out, " We're here to see what Rarity is up to, now let's hurry.
Inside the Gem Mines
having traveled a good distance into the cave with nothing out of the ordinary seen yet, the two were just about ready to leave. Even with the disappointment from Agumon, and relief from Rarity, the trip wasn't a total bust, after all, the duo had managed to come across a sizable collection of gems while spelunking. Rarity patted Agumon on his back, " It's alright Agumon darling, I'm sure if there were something here it's more than likely gone by now, " she could tell he was disappointed that the search came up empty.
The yellow digimon let out a small sigh, " It's alright Rarity, I just really wanted to see what got that dog so scared, I mean it might've even been another digimon. "
It wasn't difficult to tell that the ordeal upset the rookie digimon, which didn't make Rarity happy one bit. " Well...if it really means that much to you Agumon...we can look around a little longer..just to see what we find, " she gave her partner a caring smile, hoping it and her offer to him would cheer him up.
Rarity's offer did just that, Agumon perked right up and raised his claws high in the air, " You're the best Rarity! " He went to give his partner a hug, but stopped immediately upon noticing her frozen in place, a horrified look stuck on her face. " Hm? Rarity what's wrong, you look like you've seen a bakemon. "
She gave no verbal response, instead she shakily pointed her hoof towards the blackness of the deep cave. Deep in the darkness, several glowing red eyes could be seen glaring back at the pony and her partner. "...A-A-Agumon...wh-what are those..?? " Rarity quivered behind Agumon, only poking her head out enough to barely see the glaring eyes.
Agumon took a step forward and held his arm out in front of Rarity, " Don't worry Rarity, I'll keep these bozos away from you. Eat this! Pepper breath! " he took a deep breath before launching mighty fireball from his maw, flying right into the darkness. Upon hitting something, the attack was enough to illuminate the cave long enough for Agumon discover the owners of the eyes.
The owners of the red glaring eyes were a group of grey creatures that resembled large feline-rabbit hybrids. They had long black flaws at the end of their arms and their eyes were lined with a deep black color. They could be seen sneering and grinning in the short moments they could be seen, and their had to at least be twenty of them.
Agumon's eyes widened a bit and he took a step back, " Uh oh, it's a bunch of Gazimon! "
Still quivering, Rarity stayed close to her partner, not wanting to move an inch away, " G-Gazimon...? What are those... " she asked, her voice as shaky as her own body.
Agumon gulped, while he wasn't scared of a lone Gazimon, twenty seemed to be more than the usually brave digimon could handle. "...Gazimon, their a mean bunch of virus digimon who, while normally aren't too much to worry about, but when they get together like this they become a real pain in the rear. "
The group of virus digimon made their way out of the darkness and into the luminescence of Rarity's horn light. " Heheheh, " one wearing a pair of scratched up sunglasses stepped forward, using his index claw to rub under his nose. " Looky looky boys, seems like we got another bunch of intruders in our new home, and look, one of em' has been picking up our gems. " The group of rogue digimon began circling around the duo, wicked grins on the faces of each one. " We're just gonna have ta teach em' what happens when ya come to our turf, just like we did with those mutts from before, why, they sure didn't stick around long when they met the boss. "
Agumon gritted his teeth together, even though he was looking forward to meeting a digimon, he sure didn't want ti to be a bunch of Gazimon. " And whose your boss you bunch of digi-dorks, " the dinosaur digimon took a step back, making sure he was as close to Rarity as he could get.
The Gazimon wearing sunglasses shook his head and waved his claw back and forth, " Ah-ah-ah, it would ruin the surprise, now like I was gonna saw, grab em' boys! " He pointed his claw right at the digimon and pony, followed by the other nineteen Gazimon leaping at the "intruders" quickly grabbing them up and hauling them off deeper into the cave.
" L-let go of me you bunch of brutes! " Rarity demanded, yet her demands fell on deaf ears.
" Put Rarity down you bunch of bozos! Don't make me fry each and every one of you! " Agumon struggled in their grasp, but their were just to many to force himself free.
Upon reaching the bowels of the cave, the group of Gazimon tossed their captives into a makeshift cage they made with spare materials they had managed scraped together. " There, that should hold em' at least till the boss wakes up from his nap. "
Rarity scooted as close to Agumon as she could, not wanting to be anywhere near the bars, " So unsanitary!! " She shrieked, " Why there's dirt all over the place, I refuse to stay here any longer, I demand that you release Agumon and myself right this instant!! " she shouted at the Gazimon wearing the glasses.
" Yeah what Rarity said!! You've got five seconds before I scorch ya! " Agumon declared angrily.
The lead Gazimon gripped his teeth together in anger and annoyance from the sounds of their voices, " Would ya shut up already!! Yer hurtin my ears ya couple of pains!!! " The shouting was abruptly brought to an end however when the cave began violently shaking. " Oh nos! the boss! all dis shoutin went and woke him up! Run for it, Every mon for himself!!! " he shouted before running off comically, leaving a dust cloud in his shape behind him as well as his sunglasses, although he didn't leave them there long as she quickly darted back to pick, only to run off again.
Rarity and Agumon's eyes widened as a giant silhouette made it's way out of the deepest reaches of the cave, followed by the lowest growl either of the two had ever heard. A singular red eye could be seen glowing from the blackness of the cave as well as the ground shaking with every footstep it took.
" A-A-A-Agumon darling....what in all of E-Eq-Equestria is that?!?! " she practically screamed in the digimon's barely visible ears.
Agumon gulped and began striking against the bars of the makeshift cage using his claws, " I...I think I have a pretty good idea about who and what that is...and it's not a good thing! "
" WHO AWOKE ME FROM MY SLUMBER!!! I'LL TURN YOU INTO MINCEMEAT AND EAT YA FOR LUNCH!!! " the voice boomed throughout the cave, only causing the cave to shake more.
The three fillies who had followed Rarity into the cave quaked in place as they hugged one another. They had witnessed both Rarity and the yellow dragon she was with being capture by the large rabbit-cats, and originally intended on rescuing them, but upon hearing the mighty roar from the cave, any courage they had quickly left. "....L-let's get out of here girls...I'm sure Rarity will be just fine...I mean she has that dragon with her... " Scootaloo suggested fearfully.
"...Y-yeah...Scootaloo's right...let's get the hay outta here before whatever that is....t-turns us inta mincemeat...whatever that is...and eats us.. " Applebloom said, agreeing with her flightless friend.
Sweetie Belle however, had other things in mind, " No! " She exclaimed, " I won't just leave Rarity to be eaten by some monster!! " And without warning, she took off towards the chamber her sister was being held in.
Meanwhile, Agumon was bracing himself for the monster who had yet to pull itself out of the darkness, all while still bashing on the bars of the cage, " Come on already you stupid hunk of junk! Break! " but despite being made of junk parts, the cage held together better than he thought it would.
" Agumon! " Rarity started screaming, " It's almost here! "
However "almost" was an understatement, the one eyed monster had already made it's way into the lit chamber that the two were being held in. Agumon's eyes widened greatly, " It's exactly what I thought it was! making it just as bad as I thought it would be! "
" It's Cyclonemon!!! " Agumon shouted, trying even harder to break the bars.
" What in all of Equestria is that!! " both Rarity and Sweetie Belle shouted at the same time.
Even while panicking, Agumon still seemed capable of telling Rarity what the monster before them was, " That's Cyclonemon! he's a real nasty digimon! He used to be a good guy but one day that all changed, now hes a nothing but bad news, if he doesn't smash you with that big arm of his he'll fry you to a crisp with his hyper heat attack! So we got to get out of here as fast as our legs can carry us! "
The hulking digi-behemoth made it's way towards the caged pony and digimon, " Looks like those lousy Gazimon nabbed me a snack while I was nappin, I guess I won't munch on em' for waking me up. " Although his voice still boomed, it was now to a volume that didn't cause the entire cave to rumble.
" Agumon please hurry, as much as I like sitting around in this cage I don't think being eaten alive by a brute like that is on my schedule! " Rarity yelled.
" I'm trying! I'm Trying! " he struggled even more when he suddenly took an audible gulp, " I promised myself I wouldn't do this...not with Rarity near me...but here goes! Pepper breath!! " he launched powerful fireball point blank at the bars of the cage, causing them to go flying off, and allowing the two to run flee from the cage...and right into the path of a very hungry Cyclonemon.
" You got guts for a little mon, I'll be sure to eat ya last, " with a single swipe of his smaller arm, he grasped Rarity tightly. " This one will make a decent snack, " he licked his nonexistent lips as he raised the mare towards his mouth.
" NOO!!! Let me go you brutish fiend!! " Rarity screamed loudly.
" RARITY NO!!!! Let her go!!!! " Agumon shouted angrily.
" yeah what he said, let my sister go!!!! " Sweetie Belle came charging towards the monster digimon, bucking it's foot as hard as her little legs would let her, but it only caused her to bounce off.
" SWEETIE BELLE?!?! " Rarity asked in a scream.
" I said let her go!!!!! " Agumon shouted again, " I warned you!!! PEPPER BREATH!!! " he released the largest fireball he could, colliding with the giant digimon's face and exploding on impact.
However despite the size of the impact, it didn't even phase the larger digimon, " HAHAHAHAH!!!!! " Cyclonemon began chuckling wickedly, " You got spirit pipsqueak, it's a shame I'll have to smash it out of ya as soon as I get done snacking on these two morsels. " He opened his tooth-filled mouth and began moving Rarity towards it with the intentions of making a meal out of the mare.
" NOOOOOO!!!!!!! " Shouted all three of Rarity, Sweetie Belle and Agumon. When suddenly, Rarity's cutie mark began glowing brightly, as well Agumon's body glowing.
" Whoa!! " Agumon suddenly shouted as his body began growing within the light.
Rarity's, as well as the three filly's eyes widened as they witnessed the spectacle, "....Agumon... "
" Agumon digivolve to!!!! " his body began changing further in the bright light.
" GREYMON!!!!!!!! " The mighty digimon roared as he erupted from the light, now the same height, if not taller than the evil digimon before him. His yellow body now dawning blue stripes and atop his head rested what seemed to be a brown horned helmet, but what was really extremely hardened skin that Greymon formed upon digivolving. The giant dinosaur digimon let out a deep growl as he made his way towards Cyclonemon.
Rarity's eyes were glued on the new digital monster standing before her, "....A-Agumon..? " her voice quivered as she spoke.
The new digimon let out a growl before speaking, " I'm Greymon now, " was all he said before focusing on Cyclonemon.
Cyclonemon bared his teeth angrily and dropped Rarity, " I won't have some digi-chump ruining my meal! Eat this punk!! Hyper heat!!!! " The virus digimon opened his jagged maw releasing a wave of intense heat towards Greymon " Heheheh, that taught him a thing or two. "
" Greymon no!!! " Rarity shouted as she made her way towards her digimon, but stopped in her tracks once she saw that he was completely unharmed.
" Is that the best you got, " Greymon taunted him, leaving Cyclonemon at a loss for words, " Now it's my turn. " The dinosaur digimon cracked a grin of his own before taking air into his his body, " NOVA BLAST!!!!!! " he fired a massive fireball from his mouth, launching it directly into the body of the shocked Cyclonemon, not only enveloping him in flames but also knocking him backwards into the cave.
Rarity picked her sister up and made her way to Greymon's foot, " Agu- I mean, Greymon you were fantastic, let's hurry and go please. " She pleaded to him but his attention remained on something else.
" No Rarity, " he shook his head, " You get going, I'll take care of this digi-clown, he's not done yet. "
She wasn't sure how to respond at first, all she knew was he was right, she had to get Sweetie Bell and go. Rarity responded with a nod, " alright Greymon, just stay safe sweetie. " Using a teleportation spell similar to Twilight's she warped up to his shoulder, and planted a tiny kiss on the side of his head before warping back to Sweetie Belle.
Rarity grabbed her sister and made her way out of the cave, however she brought herself to a screeching halt upon finding Applebloom and Scootaloo. She mentally facehoofed herself, " How did I not think you two wouldn't have tagged along with Sweetie, well let's just hurry, none of us won't want to be here any longer then we have to. "
Outside of the Cave
Rarity along with the fillies, relished the fact that they had escaped from the cave. Each one took their time catching their breath. " Well, that certainly was eventful, " Rarity let out a sigh of relief before quickly pulling her sister into a hug. " Sweetie Belle what are you doing here, you could have been seriously hurt or worse... "
Sweetie Belle lowered her head sadly, she hadn't meant to worry Rarity, she only wanted to make sure her big sister was safe. "...I'm sorry Rarity...I didn't know things were going to turn out how they did..I didn't know two big monsters were going to fight...if I did I would've just stayed home... "
It was easy for Rarity to tell that her sister was saddened by her worrying, which in turn, saddened Rarity. Rarity had begun to frown, "...It's alright Sweetie Belle, I'm just glad your safe...Celestia only knows what would've happened had something happened to you. " She quickly pulled her sister into a warm and caring hug, when all of a sudden, the ground beneath them began shaking.
" Uhhhh Rarity! " Scootaloo called out, " as sweet as it is that you and Sweetie are making up, I think something bad is going to happen! "
Suddenly and without warning, Cyclonemon came crashing out of the cave through mountain of rocks that made it up, with Greymon in hot pursuit. " I'm not done with you ugly! " Greymon declared as he delivered a powerful headbutt into Cyclonemon's torso, sending the cycloptic digimon airborne.
" Rarity what are those things?! " Sweetie Belle shouted out as she clung to her sister tightly.
Before Rarity could give a reply the two behemoths clashed, Cyclonemon brought down it's tree sized arm like a hammer in an attempt to crush Greymon, " I'm sick and tired of ya!! "
But Greymon wasn't having any of it, he managed to catch the colossal arm using his own monstrous strength." I'm getting sick of you! " Greymon retorted, " Now get lost!! Nova Blast!!! " the dinosaur digimon released another giant fireball from his large mouth, knocking the giant cyclops onto his back as well as leaving a large scorch mark on his torso.
Rarity hastily moved herself and the fillies a safe distance away, where they were safe from the ongoing battle. The white mare took another sigh of relief, " Now to answer your question Sweetie Belle, that big one with the wondrous blue stripes is my sweet little Koromon all grown up, and the awfully dreadful one with one eye is a nasty beast named Cyclonemon...at least I believe that's what Agumon called him... "
The three fillies looked extremely confused at the older ponies explanation. " What's a Koromon? And an Agumon? " Sweetie Belle asked in an even more confused manner.
Rarity let out a loud sigh and rolled her eyes slightly, " I'll explain later, alright, for now we just need to let Greymon take care of this eyesore. "
And take care of him is what Greymon did, he gave Cyclonemon no time at all to recover from his assault, leaving the one-eyed digital monster helpless on the ground. "....How could I get beaten by such a chump... " Cyclonemon tried his hardest to pick himself up, but he just didn't have the strength, leaving the once mighty monster helpless.
" Greymon!! " Rarity shouted out to catch her partner's attention, " Finish him off! for me!! "
Greymon gave a growl and a nod , " Rarity's tired of seeing you, and so am I! " The giant dinosaur came charging towards the downed cyclops, before using his powerful skull to fling his opponent into the air.
" No please I'll be a good mon I promise!!! " Cyclonemon begged as he soared through the air.
" Sorry no take backs! " Greymon shouted before he began taking air into his lungs.
The three fillies watched the conclusion happening. Expressions of awe and amazement stuck to their faces, " Cool!!! " they shouted in unison.
" NOVA BLAST!!! " Greymon cried out as he launched the biggest fireball he had so far right at the airborne digimon.
" HE SHOOTS!!! " the fillies shouted with excitement in unison.
" NOOOOOOO!!!!!! " the cyclops digimon screamed as the enormous ball of fire collided with and enveloped his body before finally exploding.
" HE SCORES!!!!!!! " the three jumped high into the air at the same time as they cheered.
Rarity had been holding her breath ever since the battle had started coming to an end. Now that the conflict had ended she could release it, " Oh how glad I am that this is all over. " She watched as Greymon made his way towards them, only to collapse before her. She gasped and her eyes widened, " Greymon?! " She quickly sprinted towards him and wrapper her front legs as far around his head as she could, " Greymon Sweetie are you alright...please answer me... " she could feel tears welling up in her eyes, but before they could escape her partner began to glow once more and shrink as well.
The once giant Greymon shrunk, and shrunk, until finally he was a little Koromon again. "...Ow..my everything hurts... " his little ears drooped behind him, he had no energy left in his little body.
" Koromon! " Rarity quickly pulled the small pink digimon into her hooves, hugging him tightly. " Oh I was so worried about you Koromon I thought I had lost my little baby! " despite the thoughts that had run through her head when she law him lying motionless, Rarity had managed to keep herself from crying.
Koromon gave a weak smile before closing his eyes and resting in her hooves, " Say Rarity, do you think we could get a bite to eat now that all this is over. "
Rarity couldn't help but smile at her little partner, even if food was the only thing ever on his mind, she was just glad he was OK. " Of course we can sweetie, you can eat as much as you want once we get back to the boutique. " And with all that out of the way, the five of them made their way back to Ponyville, leaving the endeavor they had experienced behind them, but would it really be the last situation of that kind that they would experience, none of them knew. All they knew is that they were glad it was finally over.

Later that Same Day, Fluttershy's Cottage
While things might've been exciting for Rarity and Agumon, so far today things have been rather easygoing for Fluttershy and Gabumon. Fluttershy had spent most of the day tending to her many, many animals, which to her would sum up to a perfect day. Things even seemed easier for the timid pegasus ever since Gabumon came into her life. For instance, Angel bunny wasn't so pushy now that Fluttershy had a big strong monster living with her, she also appreciated the extra help when it came to tending to her animals.
As of now the two were enjoying a nice quiet evening, Fluttershy was reading to some of her smaller animals, all while Gabumon sat quietly listening. " You know Fluttershy, " Gabumon began, " So far I've really enjoyed spending these quiet evenings with you.
" Fluttershy couldn't help herself, she had to put the book she was reading down and give a big smile, " You really mean that Gabumon. " Seeing her partner digimon nod made her feel all warm inside, " Thank you Gabumon...you know...I was originally afraid of having a monster living in my cottage with me...but once I got to know you...I got over it. "
Gabumon returned the smile, " Just remember this Fluttershy, I'm your best friend and will do just about anything to help, except go to the vet, that place scares me. "
A giggle escaped from Fluttershy's covered mouth, " I'll keep that in mind then. " Something about the horned canine made Fluttershy feel comfortable, more comfortable than she normally was just sitting quietly in her cottage. Fluttershy found herself staring out her cottage window many times throughout the day. She couldn't put her hoof on the reason why, but it was almost as if something out there were calling to her.
" Say Fluttershy, " Gabumon said to catch her attention, " Weren't we supposed to check on your chicken coop before the sun began setting, like we did yesterday? "
Fluttershy's eyes widened at the sound of Gabumon's reminder, " ...Oh my goodness I almost forgot! " although her tone was rather minuscule, in Fluttershy's case this was considered raising her voice.
Gabumon watched as Fluttershy rushed out the door, following her at his own quickened pace. " It's funny really, yesterday you had to remind me, now I'm reminding you Fluttereshy, " however Gabumon stopped in his tracks when he saw Flutteshy on the ground in front of him, her eyes widened as she moved her head back and forth rapidly.
" Oh no, oh no, oh no!!!! Where are they.... " Fluttershy had intended on feeding her chickens just before sundown like she always had, however something was amiss this night.
" Fluttershy? What's wrong? " Gabumon asked in a concerned tone of voice.
Tears welled up in the yellow mare's eyes, "...My chickens...their not in they're coop....they're not anywhere... " She could feel herself on the verge of crying, her chickens were just there earlier today.
" Hmmm, " the horned digimon made his way towards the back end of the coop, only to find out, there was no back end to it. Gabumon was a loss for words, the entire back half of the chicken coop was burnt away, fence, building, and all. " Fluttershy quickly come here! " rather than going to him quickly, she crawled to him in a meekly manner.
Fluttereshy felt herself going pale upon laying her eyes on the charred remains of her chicken coop, "...m...my ...ch-chicken coop... " and just like that, Fluttershy was out cold.
That Same Day a Little Later, Twilight's Treehouse
The mane six had gathered at Twilight's home upon receiving the news from Twilight, whom had been informed by Gabumon. Each one of them was utterly shocked to learn of the misfortune event that took place at Fluttershy's normally peaceful cottage. The other four mares who had gathered at Twilight's home were unsurprised to find their yellow friend out cold on Twilight's couch.
" We came here as fast as we could Twilight, " said Applejack as she and Gaomon made their way towards the couch that Fluttershy was resting on.
Using her magic, Twilight wiped the yellow pegasi's forehead with a wet washcloth. " I'm just glad you girls could get here when you did, Fluttershy is in shock and she could use all the support she can get. " With a gesture of her hoof, Twilight had Tentomon bring her a new rag, which she would then wet and swap out with the used one.
" I thank you all for coming as well, " Gabumon added, the yellow and blue digimon looked extremely worried his partner.
Agumon made his way towards Gabumon and started patting his friend on the back, " Don't worry buddy, we're all here for you and Fluttershy. "
While the gesture of kindness helped Gabumon smile, it didn't help fix the feeling of sadness that was currently sitting in his stomach. " Thank you Agumon, and thank you every- er everypony else, as Fluttershy would say, " despite the sadness he was feeling, he wouldn't let it get in the way of showing his friends gratitude.
" Yeah don't you worry Gabumon, we're gonna find the creep that made fried chicken out of Fluttershy's...chickens, and we're gonna make them pay! " Rainbow Dash Exclaimed.
"Yeah!! What Rainbow Dash said, we're gonna fry them the same way they fried the coop! " Veemon added on.
Both Applejack and Gaomon gave their two cyan friends very disgruntled looks. " Yah know, " Applejack started talking, " As inspirational and helpful as you two are tryin to be, just stop talkin, yer not makin the situation any better. "
" Yeah, the last thing Fluttershy needs to hear about is her chickens bein fried, " Gaomon added, however he quickly covered his muzzle before sheepishly smiling at Applejack.
The orange mare simply brought her hoof to her face and shook her head at her partner's slight blunder. " Anyway, " she said as she took her hoof away from her face, " We're here to help Fluttershy anyway we can, so can you tell us everything ya know about the situation Twilight? "
Twilight gave a small nod in response, " From what Gabumon told me, they were enjoying a peaceful night at Fluttershy's when they were suddenly remembered that they needed to feed Fluttershy's chickens, but that's when Gabumon found half of it had been burnt away. " The rest of the main six members either gasped or gained worried expression's of their own. " From the way Gabumon worded it, " Twilight continued speaking, " It would seem that the fire wasn't a natural one, so Tentomon devised two answers to this mystery, it was either a very hungry dragon, which, they would've noticed or. "
" Or a very agitated digimon, " Tentomon continued for Twilight, " And seeing as the dragon would be highly unlikely, there's no doubt that it was another rogue digimon that torched Fluttershy's chicken coop. "
However before Twilight could give her solution to the matter, Rainbow Dash flew to the center of all her friends. " Then we go back to Fluttershy's place and we give that digipunk a lesson! " she hit her hooves together as she exclaimed her suggestion.
This time it was Twilight who gave the disgruntled expression, " No Rainbow Dash, " she simply said before turning her attention back on the rest of her friends. Using her teleportation spell, Twilight warped out of the room, and right back into it, this time having a chalkboard by her side. " This is the solution Tentomon and I have devised, " she pointed a piece of chalk that she was holding in her magical grasp, towards the chalkboard, " When Fluttershy wake's up we're going to split into two groups and patrol the forest around her cottage. "
Twilight's suggestion caught the attention of everypony, and everymon, in the room, including the attention of one hyperactive pink earth pony. " Oooo!!! Oooo!!! If we're gonna split up do we get super cool code names, or or or!! do we get super secrety secret gadgets for communicating if we get lost! or separated! or lostarated!! that's a combination of lost and separated. " Pinkie gave an ecstatic smile as she bounced in place, Lopmon planted firmly atop her head as she did so.
Twilight simply moved the bouncing Pinkie to the side with her magic, " As I was going to say, Tentomon and I have selected who goes with who, starting like this, Rarity, Agumon, Tentomon, and myself, will be accompanying Fluttershy and Gabumon in searching on the east end, while Applejack, Gaomon, Rainbow Dash, Veemon, Pinkie Pie, and lopmon, will search on the west end of the forest. "
The ponies looked at one another, nodding in agreement with Twilight's plan. " Alright then, we'll go by Twilight's plan of Action, but Veemon and me are in charge of our team, " Rainbow Dash stated proudly.
Applejack put her hoof on her face, and Gaomon put his gloved paw on his, " I'm just gonna ignore Rainbow Dash for the moment and say this, Twilight, Gaomon and I are ready to head out whenever you give the say-so. "
" Right, what Applejack just said, " Gaomon pounded his bawled up fist together as he spoke.
In the midst of her shock induced sleep, Fluttershy's eyes suddenly opened, and the first thing she laid them upon was her dear friend Gabumon. " Fluttershy! You're awake! " Gabumon felt like he could start crying as he gave his partner a big hug. " Oh Fluttershy! I was so worried when you wouldn't wake up, so I...I hurried you over to Twilight's as fast as my two legs could carry me. "
Fluttershy gave the smallest smile she could as her not-so digital partner hugged her, " ...I'm sorry Gabumon...I didn't me to worry you... " Her eyes scanned the room she was in, and in it she saw each one of her friends, along with their digimon, standing around her with relief filled expressions on their faces. " ...I also didn't mean to worry everypony else...I was just so shocked that I...I... " she could feel herself shaking as the memory came rushing back to her.
" Easy there sugarcube, " Applejack stepped towards Fluttershy, " We're here to help ya, we're gonna find the no good varmint who did ya wrong. " Applejack began gently rubbing Fluttershy's head with her hoof, " Twilight's done came up with a plan to find what did the crime, ain't that right Twilight. "
Twilight rubbed her own head as she looked over some notes that she and Tentomon made, only to quickly snap her attention back towards Applejack. " Oh-uh yeah that's right, we're gonna split up in two teams and patrol the edges of the forest around your house Fluttershy, " Twilight explained to her still quivering friend.
Fluttershy tried her hardest to stop her quivering, with minimal success, " ...Are you....are you sure Twilight..? " Fluttershy asked, her voice just as shaky as her body.
To which Twilight responded with both a nod and a verbal response, " I'm certain Fluttershy, you and Gabumon will be accompanying Rarity and myself along with Agumon and Tentomon, is that alright with you? " Fluttershy didn't speak this time, instead she simply gave a small nod, " Good, alright then everypony, " Twilight called out, " Fluttershy's awake and we have our plan, lets hurry before it gets even darker out, " and just like that, everypony and everymon set out towards Fluttershy's cottage.
Near the Edge of the Everfree Forest
Fluttershy, Gabumon and their friends arrived right on the edge of the forest, only to find a large section burnt away, creating both and opening and a path into the forest. " ...Oh my goodness... " Fluttershy gasped before covering her mouth with her hooves in slight shock.
" This wasn't here when I left, " Gabumon stated.
" Well that is obvious, otherwise you would have told Twilight and myself about a giant singed hole into the woods, " Tentomon replied.
Twilight began rubbing her chin as she stared at the mon-made path into the Everfree forest. " From the looks of the burn marks on the trees, it was here rather recently, which means we should be able to catch up with it if we make haste, " Twilight declared.
" Then let's hurry! Otherwise we're gonna lose the digi-jerk that did this! " Agumon shouted, the rookie digimon was eager to make the digimon who attacked Fluttershy's chickens pay for it.
" Agumon is right darling, if we're to catch the dastardly fiend who wronged Flutershy, then we should make the utmost haste, " said Rarity.
Fluttershy remained silent the whole time the others were talking. She had practically hidden herself behind Gabumon just to avoid making direct eye contact with the damage. " Let's just get going, Fluttershy doesn't want to be here any longer than she has to be, " Gabumon placed his paw on Fluttershy's head and gently rubbed it.
" Alright then Gabumon, " Twilight nodded as she turned towards the forest entrance, " Alright, everypony, everymon, let's find whatever did this and fast. " The six of them made their way into the Everfree forest, tracking the monster wasn't very hard, it had burnt an entire path through the forest. " What could've done this? " Twilight asked in a bewildered tone of voice.
" Hmmm from what I've been able to conclude, it could be any number of monstrosities from this world and the digital world, " Tentomon responded to his partner.
Tentomon's response did nothing to help Fluttershy's fright filled demeanor, if anything it made her go from frightened, to terrified. " ....M-m-maybe we can wait t-till tomorrow to find it.... " Fluttershy pleaded with Twilight to call off the search, however he pleas fell on deaf ears.
" Fluttershy this might be our only chance, " Gabumon responded, " if you're scared you can grab onto my fur if it helps to make you feel comfortable. "
Gabumon's attempt at making the yellow mare comfortable proved to work, somewhat. Fluttershy stayed as close to Gabumon as she physically could. ".....T-thank you Gabumon...this...this helps a lot... " Fluttershy did her best to stop shaking so that she wouldn't be shaking Gabumon along with her.
The six continued down the trail of burnt forest until suddenly Agumon stopped the group. " Hold up everybody, something doesn't smell right, " the yellow digimon sniffed the air thoroughly.
" Are you sure you aren't just smelling a pie or something? " Tentomon said jokingly.
" I'm serious! " Agumon replied to the not-so-funny joke, " I can tell the difference between smoke and pie, and what I'm smelling is definitely smoke! "
" My Agumon can smell just about anything darling, " Rarity said, half of it praising the digimon, half of it not. " Believe me, earlier today I was making a little snack for Sweetie Belle, Agumon was asleep, but the second I pull the food out of the oven, poof, he's standing right next to me, " Rarity's story of Agumon's nose made both Fluttershy and Twilight look at the dinosaur digimon curiously.
The silence was suddenly broken by Gabumon, " I think Agumon is right, let's hurry everyone! " The canine digimon took off in the direction Agumon's snout had been sniffing in when suddenly his own nose picked up the fiery scent. "It's just over here! " Gabumon began sprinting ahead of the others, confident that this was what torched Fluttershy's chickens, and if there's one thing Gabumon had, it was confidence. Gabumon's print was cut short by his body running head first into a giant fiery leg, " Ow ow ow ow hot hot hot! " once he had cooled himself off, the rookie digimon slowly looked upwards, something he wish he hadn't.
A large menacing burning figure towered over the rookie, growling fiercely as it's gaze was focused on the digimon below it, " ...Burn... "
Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy as well as the other digimon came to a screeching halt at the sight of the fiery giant, " What is that!!!! " the three of them shouted in unison.
" It's Flarerizamon!!! " the three digimon shouted out in unison as well.
" Flarerizamon is normally such a calm digimon, sure he can be a bit of a hot-head but overall he's usually peaceful, it make's no sense as to why he would be the one burning up Fluttershy's property, " Agumon explained to his pony friends.
" Well I believe we caught him on a bad day, " Tentomon said sarcastically. Suddenly the fiery digimon opened it's blazing maw, " watch out everyone he's firing his blaze buster attack!! " the insectoid digimon cried out as he took flight in the opposite direction.
" We're way behind you! " Shouted Agumon as he pulled both Rarity and Twilight to safety.
" Fluttershy watch out! " Gabumon grabbed his partner and just barely evaded the searing flames that the angered digimon was spewing from it's mouth.
Fluttershy was utterly terrified, she wasn't even able to give her stare because of how scared she was. "...G-Gabumon... " was all the frightened mare could say.
Everyone except for Rarity and Agumon stopped fleeing, " Darlings I want you all to get as far away from here as possible, Agumon and myself shall teach this brute some manners. "
Twilight stopped in her tracks and stared at Rarity, " Are you insane Rarity?! " the lavender unicorn cried out.
Rarity shook her head, " No darling, besides, I'll be perfectly fine with Agumon by my side, isn't that right Agumon darling? "
" That's right, let's do this! " Agumon thrusted his claw high in the air.
" ...Just be careful.. " both Twilight and Fluttershy whispered in unison as they took off in the opposite direction.
" We can't just leave them can we?! " Gabumon asked while sprinting with Fluttershy.
" We have to trust Agumon and Rarity with the situation, " Tentomon replied.
Both Rarity and Agumon stood bravely before the blazing terror of a digimon, " You awful awful creature! We're going to make you regret hurting our darling Fluttershy's animals! "
" Yeah we're gonna give you the works! " Agumon added. " It's Time to digivolve!! " he declared loudly.
" That's exactly what time it is darling, " and suddenly Rarity's cutiemark began glowing, followed by Agumon glowing as well.
" Agumon digivolve too!! " the once small digimon began growing before everyponies eyes.
" Greymon!!!! " he roared as he erupted from the light and charged the flaming digimon.
Both Twilight's and Fluttershy's eyes widened at the monster's sudden transformation. " I thought Tentomon was the only one... " Twilight said with amazement.
" Wh-what do you mean you thought Tentomon was the only one...? " Fluttershy shakily asked.
" ...Just recently I discovered that Tentomon could become stronger through something he called digivolving..I hypothesized that all digimon could do it but this answers that hypothesis, " Twilight replied.
" Nova Blast!!! " Greymon cried out as he launched a massive fireball from his mouth towards Flarerizamon.
" Blaze Bluster!!! " Flarerizamon suddenly called out his own attack before following through with it by breathing intense stream of fire, clashing with Greymon's attack in the process.
" Tentomon! " Twilight called her partner's name to get his attention, " It's our turn! "
" I agree, Twilight, let's assist Rarity and Greymon, " Tentomon raised his claw as he agreed with Twilight.
" Then let's hurry! " Twilight clenched her eyes shy as she focused as hard as she could until her cutiemark began glowin like Rarity's.
Tentomon began flying towards the battle before he began glowing as well, " Tentomon! Digivolve too!! "
He too grew from his original form and into that of his champion state, " Kabuterimon!! "
Tentomon had digivolved right on time, Greymon wasn't having the easiest time against a digimon made entirely of fire. " A little help her-Wha!!!! " Greymon cried for help as he was lifted off the ground and tossed through the trees by Flarerizamon.
" Greymon!!! " Rarity shouted as she watched her partner digimon being hurled through the trees like a sack of dirty laundry.
" Don't worry Greymon I've got your back! Electro Shocker!!! " the large insect digimon crossed it's four arms across it's chest before firing a powerful bolt of electricity at the fiery digimon, knocking him into the same direction as Greymon.
Fluttershy was frozen with fear, now there were three giant monsters fighting, sure two of them were her friends but it still didn't help that their appearances terrified her. Gabumon saw Fluttershy shivering as she watched the digital giants fight it out, " Fluttershy what's the matter? "
" It's alright Fluttershy, there's no need to worry, Greymon and Kabuterimon are our friends, so there's no reason to be scared of the, " Gabumon's attempt at consoling Fluttershy and getting her from behind him were in vain, she wasn't budging an inch.
" Rarity! Fluttershy! Quick we got to keep up otherwise we'll lose them! " Twilight called to them to follow her, who in turn was following the action.
Rarity simply trotted in Twilight's direction, " I understand what you mean darling, but I doubt we'd lose somepony of their size, even in these dreadful woods. "
" Hey Fluttershy let's follow them, we don't want to get left behind, " Gabumon started walking in the same direciton his friends had went when he noticed Fluttershy still cowering on the ground. " Fluttershy what's the matter? " he asked sincerely.
" ...I....I don't think I can do this gabumon...I mean I love taking care of you...but I don't think I can handle giant monsters... " tears welled up in the pink-haired pegasi's eyes.
" Fluttershy, " Gabumon started as he walked back towards her and held out his paw, " You don't ever have to be scared as long as I'm with you, because I'll protect you no matter what, that's my promise as your digi-partner. "
Fluttershy slowly wiped her eyes dry and looked at the digimon's paw, "...D....Do you promise... "
" I promise, " Gabumon said full-heartedly.
Fluttershy placed her hoof on his paw and slowly stood herself up, "...Alright Gabumon...if you keep your promise...then I'll promise to stand by your side... "
Gabumon gave a cheerful smile, " Alright then, let's go catch up with the others before we miss all the action, "
Fluttershy gave a small smile of her own and nodded, "...then let's....let's go.. "
However they wouldn't be missing any of the action anytime soon. Despite having the advantage when it came to numbers, neither Greymon, nor Kabuterimon could bring down the rampant Flarerizamon. The brawl had led the three giants to a lake hidden within the shroud of the Everfree Forest.
" Nova Blast!!! " Greymon roared as he fired another giant flaming projectile towards Flarizamon, only to have it unphazed by the fiery attack. " This guy's too hot for me to trounce with my nova blasts, we're gonna have to think something up Kabuterimon, " Greymon was at his wits end with the flaming monster.
" I have an idea! " Kabuterimon suddenly took flight high above the lake, " Greymon hold that bozo there I'm gonna give him an unexpected bath! "
" HARPOON TORPEDO!!! " a voice suddenly cried out from within the lake before three rapid projectiles came flying towards the airborne digimon.
" Give me a breeeeak!! " Kabuterimon was struck with all three causing him to fall from the sky, landing right on top of greymon.
Both champion level digimon laid there from the sudden impact, "... When I said we should stick together I didn't mean like this... "
" ...Ugh..did anybody get the license plate of that torpedo that hit me... " Kabuterimon lifted himself off of Greymon before turning towards the lake. "
Fluttershy and Gabumon had just arrived at the lakefront, only for them to stop immediately at the sight of something large, white, and furry breaking the water's surface.
" What is that?! " Twilight asked out of both fear and curiosity.
" That's an Ikkakumon! " Gabumon replied in shock.
" ....Another giant monster.... " Fluttershy began to quiver, but then her promise with Gabumon quickly came to her mind, causing her to shake the fear away as best as she could.
" OK Gabumon you know it's name but what is it! " Twilight yelled in slight panic.
" Ikkakumon is an aquatic digimon who's normally very docile, so it makes no sense for him to attack Kabuterimon like he did, " Gabumon explained to them.
" He certainly doesn't look "very docile" to me.. " Rarity remarked.
" First Flarerizamon and no an Ikkakumon, could today get any worse.. " Greymon murmured as he picked himself up, leaving himself open for a shoulder charge from Flarerizamon, knocking him clear into the lake. " I had to open my big mouth! " the impact from Greymon hitting the water sent it flying everywhere, including Flarerizamon.
" Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with electricity!! " Kabuterimon crossed his arms once again, " Electro Shocker!! " he then fired his attack at the steaming Flarerizamon, electrocuting him as well as knocking him into the lake with Greymon and Ikkakumon.
" Harpoon torpedo!! " the bersek Ikkakumon cried out as it fired more projectiles as Kabuterimon.
" This is gonna hurt!! " he tried his best ot evade the attack but in the process ended up getting hit in the wings, taking him down faster than the first time.
Gabumon stared in horror as his two friends laid out across the ground, too weak to move in their current form, but both knowing they couldn't change back otherwise their friends would be in danger. ".. They need me.. " Gabumon began walking towards the lake without thinking about his own safety.
"...Gabumon...wh...where are you going... " Fluttershy didn't want him to leave her side, especially not now of all times.
" Fluttershy my friends need me...I'm going to help them and protect you all at once, " the rookie level digimon bravely declared before rushing off to the lake's edge.
Flarerizamon had pulled himself out of the water, he had shrunken in size due to his fire being drowned out by the water. But this didn't deter him, all it took was him leaving the water for his size and vigor to return to him, " HAHAHAHAH!!!! BURN!!!!! " the berserk digimon began wildly breathing fire across the area in front of him.
However the fiery assault was brought to a halt by something catching his attention, Gabumon attacking. " Blue Blaster!! " Gabumon opened his canine-like maw and released blue stream of cold fire towards Flarerizamon in an attempt to aid his downed friends. " You leave them alone you oversized campfire! Blue Blaster!! " again he attacked, and again it didn't even phaze the fiery digimon.
Flarerizamon was the least of Gabumon's worries though, Ikkakumon had made his way to shore and set his sights on the smaller blue digimon. " Harpoon Torpedo!! " the furry white digimon launched another rocket-like projectile from it's horn, this time headed directly towards Gabumon.
Flarerizamon also joined in on the assault, " Blaze Buster!! " he opened his fiery maw and let out a stream of searing fire onto Gabumon right as the torpedo struck, causing a much larger explosion.
Fluttershy's eye's widened and her heart sunk as she watched her friend being stricken by both attacks at once. " GABUMON!!!!!! " she screamed and ran towards her downed digimon.
Gabumon lifted his head as much as he could and opened a single eye, "...Fluttershy..no stay back.....don't get any closer... "
His pleas fell on deaf ears, Fluttershy paid no heed to the giant's standing over Gabumon, all she cared about was getting him out of there.
Flarerizamon caught sight of the pony and opened his maw once again, " Blaze Buster!! " once more, the fiery digimon released a stream of intense fire, this time towards the defenseless and innocent Fluttershy.
" Gabumon's eyes widened as he saw the fire approaching Fluttershy Rapidly. Suddenly energy filled his body and Fluttershy's cutiemark had begun to glow. " FLUTTERSHY!!!! " he held out his paw and rushed towards her only to stop halfway there as his body began glowing white.
Everyponies attention had been placed on Gabumon as he began to change like the others. " Look Rarity! " Twilight's eyes widened as she watched the light overtake the canine digimon.
" Gabumon digivolve too!! "
" GARURUMON!!!!!! " Gabumon had digivolved from a small two legged canine into a large blue noble wolf.
Fluttershy's eyes glimmered, while the other digimon frightened her, this new one standing before her didin't make her fearful at all, " ...Gabumon..is that you... "
The brand new Garurumon looked back at Fluttershy and gave a nod, " I promised I'd protect you Fluttershy and I plan on keeping that promise. "
What had began as a small smile on Fluttershy's face had now become a full-blown smile, " ...Go get em' .. "
Garurumon immediately turned it's attention back towards the two digimon before him, " Now it's my turn! Howling Blaster!! " Garurumon leapt towards Flarerizamon, firing a stream of blue flames from it's mouth.
While normally Flarerizamon would've absorbed the flames, it wasn't able to take in Garurumon's ice-cold flames, " AAAGH!!! " This left the flaming champion digimon wide open.
Garurumon used this opening to his advantage, " Let's take a dip!! " he rammed the flaming monster with all his might and sending him flying into the lake.
Even with one down, that still left Ikakkumon, " Harpoon Torpedo!! " the out of control digimon fired another barrage of explosive projectiles towards the new champion level digimon.
" Garurumon watch out!! " Greymon picked himself up with the last of his strength, " Nova Blast!!! " with what little energy he had left, the dinosaur digimon fired a massive fireball, intervening with the torpedoes.
" Thank you Greymon! " Garurumon gave a grateful nod before returning his attention to Ikkakumon.
Greymon quickly reverted back to Agumon who laid his body out on the shore, " ...you're welcome... "
Garurumon tackled the tusked digimon, knocking him too into the water, " Don't think you're getting away that easily! " he quickly hopped into the water after the digimon.
" ...Please be OK.... " Fluttershy feared for her friend's safety after he hadn't resurfaced.
However soon the water began violently moving about, " What's going on?! " Rarity clung onto Twilight as the movement of the water grew more violent.
All of a sudden both Ikkakumon and Flarerizamon came flying out of the water by, having been sent airborne by a headbutt from Garurumon. " You two are all washed up!! Howling Blaster!!! " the wolf digimon opened up mouth and shot out a stream of ice-cold fire, striking both adversaries and soon engulfing them.
" Garurumon!! " Fluttershy rushed to the water's edge to meet her now grown partner, but wash surprised when he suddenly began glowing and shrinking, all the way back to tsunomon. She gave a small gasp, " Tsunomon?! Is that you? " she quickly, but carefully scooped the small digimon into her hooves.
The horned digimon let out a big yawn as he fought to keep his eyes open, " ...Of course it's me, now can I go to sleep.. "
Fluttershy didn't even have time to answer before she noticed he had already dozed off, " ...Of course you can.. " she gave a small smile and cradled him in her hooves.
Soon Tentomon came into view with Agumon hanging off his back, " Don't mind us we're just passing through. "
" Agumon!! " Rarity dashed towards her partner digimon before pulling him off Tentomon's back and squeezing him tightly, " Don't you ever scare me like that! "
Twilight also gave her digimon a hug, " You were great out there. "
" You think so, I feel all warm inside, oh wait no that's the bruises I'll have for the next week, " he comedically replied.
But without warning both digimon they had jsut been fighting came crashing down, however this time they didin't look nearly as hostile. The once enraged Ikkakumon lifted himself up and rubbed his head, " Oh my aching head...where am I? "
Twilight stepped towards him, " Fascinating, he's just like the Tyrannomon from before, one moment he's attacking us and out of control, the next he's lost all forms hostility as if they hadn't been there at all . " " Um pardon me mister...Ikkakumon? "
He continued rubbing his head, " That's me...I'm sorry if I caused any trouble I really am... "
" That's alright, " Twilight replied, " Can you inform us on what happened and why you attacked us? "
The aquatic digimon began thinking, trying his best to recall the moment's before he blacked out, " I'm not entirely sure to be honest, I remember waking up in this lake, looking around for a while and the it felt like a bug bit my on the neck and the, nothing. "
" Like a bug bit you? " Twilight questioned.
" ....Ugh...Same goes for me... " Flarerizamon added, lifting his arm up as high as his injured body would let him.
" Hold on one second you fiery brute! " Rarity stomped towards the injured digimon, " You attacked out dear Fluttershy's home and set her chicken coop ablaze along with her chickens, you are going to make everything right, or so be it I will make you regret it! "
The Flarerizamon sat himself up and rubbed the back of his head, " ...I might not've been in control of my actions but I remember everything I did and I don't remember frying any chickens...I remember scaring some off but I most certainly don't recall torching any.. "
" ...B-but..if you didn't hurt my chickens...then where are they...? " Fluttershy asked.
" ...How am I supposed to know...all I know is I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I hurt anything innocent...I'm a guardian of nature after-all.. " Flarerizamon explained.
Twilight walked towards Fluttershy and placed one of her hooves around her shoulders, " Let's head back Fluttershy, if your chickens really weren't hurt then maybe they're already back at your cottage waiting for you. "
Fluttershy looked down at her sleeping Tsunomon, " ..Alright Twilight..but let's be quiet..he need his rest.. "
And so the group of five, and one sleeping member, made their way back to Fluttershy's cottage, where the rest of their friends were already waiting. " There they are! " Rainbow Dash pointed out before dashing towards them, " Where were you?! We didn't find the no good rotten creep who torched your coop, but we found your chickens. "
Fluttershy smiled, " ...That's alright Rainbow Dash...we found the digimon responsible..he said he was sorry and even promised to look after them when I wasn't home.. "
Rainbow Dash's eyes widened, " Wait you mean we missed it!!! Oh come on!!! " she crossed her legs and turned away, pouting to herself, " ...I knew me and Veemon should've went with Twilight and Fluttershy... "
" You alright sugarcube? " Applejack approached Fluttershy and placed her hoof on her friend's shoulder.
" ..I am Applejack, thank you for asking...Now um..If it's alright with everypony I'd like for me, Tsunomon, and my animals to go to bed now if we may..? "
This time Twilight was the one to smile, " That's perfectly fine with us Fluttershy, you two get all the rest you want, you deserve it. "
Fluttershy walked into her cottage where she watched her friends leave through her window. She then looked down at Tsunomon who was still fast asleep, " You protected me...now It's my turn to protect you..sleep as much as you want, I won't ever let anypony hurt you whenever you're this small...just as long as you don let anypony hurt me when you're big.. "
And so she carried him upstairs where she quickly fell asleep with him lovingly hugged against her body like a stuffed animal, " ...Goodnight Fluttershy.. " Tsunomon mumbled and quickly fell back into his slumber.

Well hey there ladies and gentlecolts, it's been a while since I've gotten to work on this story. Reason's being are, computer was broken for a while, I was working on other stories, and school continuously popping up out of nowhere, but I'm back now and will continue working on the story, so no need to fear that it'll get left to rot in the crevices of the bookshelf. Anyway I hope you enjoy this chapter I put alot of extra work into it, even included a bit of music for the moment. Author's Note
Well this has been long in the making. First off you're probably noticing two things. One: I'm finally updating this, and two: the author's note is before the actual chapter. The latter of the two coincides with the former. I would like to formally apologize to my readers for how stupidly long it took to get this updated. I do have reasons as to why I was unable to write this though.
The first reason being; I do not, in anyway lead a perfect life, far from it actually. I work, I helped take care of the people I live with and for the past half of this year people in my family have been in and out of the hospital, and I've had to pick up the slack. I've also went in and out of depressions while writing this, which also greatly affected the writing of this chapter.
The second reason: I sometimes lose my drive for writing, or I develop serious cases of writers block. I actually did most of the work on this chapter in the past two months but couldn't bring myself to finish it until last week, but didn't publish because we were celebrating my birthday. I'm not a writer who can just machine gun fire chapter after chapter, when I actually do have my drive and inspiration I take my time, and my proofreader/editor takes her time. If we didn't it'd come out a mess of grammatical errors and sloppy writing.
Onto the final matter for this chapter, and the obvious difference from the rest, it's ludicrous ( for me at least ) size. When i wrote this chapter I had one of two objectives in mind. The first one being, write a chapter that ties into an episode of MLP: FIM to show, just where in the shows timeline the story is taking place at. The second, write this tie in as faithfully to the episodes it ties into as possible while still making an ample amount of changes so it doesn't seem copy and pasted, or plagiarized. This resulted in it being a bit more wordy than the other chapters, which obviously made it much larger.
Still with all these setbacks and the amount of time to get it put out I still feel it's good how it is and wouldn't change it. Now onto the matter of the next chapter, I will work on it right away, not as fast as some of you may like, but not as slow as it'll take a whole year to get it. It might take a few weeks, it might take a month and a half, only time will tell. So please elt me write at my own pace, IT WILL GET WRITTEN, but trying to rush it won't get it written faster.

Ponyville, Two Days Later, Rainbow Dash's Cloud House
It had been two whole days since Rainbow Dash "helped" Fluttershy in her time of need, however in Rainbow Dash's mind, she felt rather useless during the situation. Even though it shouldn't have, the whole thing bothered her; neither her nor Veemon got a chance to do anything worthwhile when it came to aiding her friends. It was eating away at her far more than it was Veemon though.
The sounds of loud, sad, annoyed sighs could be repeatedly heard coming from within Rainbow Dash's cloud house for the past two days. The cyan pegasus tossed and turned in her bed, and the more she dwelled on the thought, the more she would toss about in her bed uncomfortably. She suddenly shot up in her bed, " I still can't believe it! Not only did we do absolutely nothing last night, but we also missed all the action!! I mean it was like we weren't even there!!! "
Her digital partner was standing by her bed, scratching his blue head as he watched her throw her fit. " Cmon Rainbow Dash, just because we were useless the other night doesn't mean it was for nothing, " his attempt at a pep talk did the complete opposite of what he intended.
If anything, it upset her even more, " We were useless!!! I was useless!!! " She fell backwards onto her bed, covered her head with her pillow, and finally letting out a loud groan.
Veemon climbed onto the bed and proceeded to pat the pillow covering her head, " Well, laying in bed isn't gonna make us not useless. We gotta get out there, find something, and tackle it before any of the others get a chance. And hey, if there's nothing to do, at least we could hang out together, " he pumped his fist into the air with excitement.
Rainbow Dash shot up into the air, " Yeah! You're right Veemon! " She energetically pumped her hooves into the air, " Sulking’s not gonna do anything for us! "
" That's the spirit!!! " Veemon cheered. " And if we do find something, we can save the day together! " He beamed with enthusiasm.
" Yeah! " Rainbow Dash pumped her hoof into the air.
Without a single word of warning, Rainbow Dash grabbed Veemon, quickly placing him on her back. Then finally shot off out an open window and towards town, " THIS IS THE COOLEST!!! "
The Center of Ponyville
Rainbow Dash wasn't the only pony having a less-than-stellar day. At the moment, Twilight seemed to tie her for that title, the purple unicorn was frantically racing across town with her draconic assistant, and digital insect trailing close behind. " It's been three days since I've written a report to Princess Celestia!! The last one I wrote was eaten by Kuwagamon! I've got to get to it or I'll be in big trouble!!! "
Tentomon, however, wasn't quite sure the urgency of the situation was as urgent as she made it out to be, " Perhaps you could simply write to your teacher about us, like I've suggested for the past two days. "
Twilight stopped in her tracks, and slowly turned back to look her digital partner in his compound eyes. She stared at him for what seemed like the longest time before letting out a loud sigh, " I guess you're right...It's just, I've been trying to put it off, just on the off chance that Princess Celestia...takes you away... "
A frown came to Spike's face in reaction to his surrogate sister's worried remark, " Twilight, I hiiighly doubt that Princess Celestia would do something like that. "
" From the way you described Princess Celestia, she seems to be a benevolent ruler, so I am certain she would not act so rashly, " Tentomon said with a raised claw.
" Yeah, he's right Twilight, " Spike assured.
A sigh escaped Twilight's mouth as she nodded from the assurance of her adoptive brother, and partner. " I guess you two are right. Besides, there's another matter I was actually looking to take care of today. "
" Oh? " Tentomon turned his head curiously, " And what matter might that be, Twilight? "
Using her magic, Twilight reached into her saddlebag and pulled out another rolled up piece of paper. " Last night, on the way home, Rarity told me the reactions she got when going through town with Agumon, which when you think of it, they were reasonable reactions. " Tentomon nodded, following along with what Twilight was saying, " But it dawned on me that the likes of Agumon, and Veemon could pass as baby dragons like Spike, and Lopmon could pass for a large rabbit. However, you, Gabumon, and Gaomon are a bit more complicated. " Twilight's hoof tapped the paper as she showed its contents to Tentomon, " I'm going to Mayor Mare to explain to her the situation with you digimon, that way the citizens of Ponyville will be much more easier to handle and get along with. "
" That's a brilliant idea Twilight! " Tentomon raised one of its claws, " That way we won't have to use Rarity's suggestion and go around dressed up. "
" Pfft, " Spike crossed his arms while trying to imagine Tentomon and the others in disguises, " Who'd be dumb enough to fall for that. "
Before Twilight could give a response, a rainbow blur shot by overhead at a breakneck pace. " YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! " Shouted a smaller blue blur resting atop the speedster.
Another, much louder sigh left Twilight's mouth, " ...Or that's going to have to wait until I see what's going on. Something tells me I should follow her... " Twilight said with a shake of her head, before trotting off in the same direction.
Spike and Tentomon were right behind her, staying at the same pace to converse while moving. " Is Twilight always this way when it comes to Rainbow Dash? " Tentomon asked Spike.
The purple dragon gave a shrug whilst he ran, " Not all the time, but something definitely seems up today. "
" The sky? " Tentomon asked with another turn of his head.
Spike brought his claw to his face and groaned, " For being so smart, you really aren't that perceptive! "
Elsewhere In Ponyville
Rainbow Dash had brought herself to a stop atop a mass of clouds hanging over the town. Both she and Veemon were busy gazing down from the clouds, their heads going left and right, like birds of prey on the hunt. " See anything yet Veemon? "
The sky blue rookie digimon shook his head, " Nope, not a thing, " He was quick to change the subject upon seeing absolutely nothing they could do to be useful, " so can we hang out now, Rainbow? "
However, his request fell on deaf ears, as something else had caught Rainbow Dash's ears.
" Help! Help!! "
It was a cry for help! A cry originating from a well just below them. Immediately, Rainbow leapt up and rushed to the edge of the cloud, " Veemon, do you hear that?! "
" Yeah!! " He pumped his fist high into the air, " It's our time to shine! Let's fly Rainbow Da- " the rookie digimon was cut off by a rainbow blur flashing past him, leaving him alone on the cloud. " Rainbow Dash...? "
In an instant, Rainbow Dash had shot by her partner, and taken a nosedive into the well, and as swiftly as she had descended, she ascended. However she was now accompanied by a filly covered in dirt and grime. " Don't worry kiddo! Rainbow Dash has got ya! "
In the few short moments Rainbow had been down the well, a crowd of ponies had already built up around the well, one of which was Twilight. " Well, at least I know she's not getting herself into trouble, " She spoke all while keeping her eyes glued to Rainbow's act of heroism.
" Indeed, " Tentomon said while next to her, doing his best to stay hidden in the crowd of distracted ponies. " However, I do notice a lack of Veemon's presence. He had been with her up until this point, I'm assuming. "
Twilight didn't have a chance to respond as Rainbow landed mere feet away from her, only to be swamped by the sudden cheering crowd. " That was incredible! " One pony said, " Outstanding! " said another, followed by many other praises.
Rainbow's cheeks turned a tinge of pink, and she smiled bashfully, " D'aw, thanks everypony, eheh, but it wasn't really a big deal. "
The filly she had saved stepped towards her, " It was a big deal to me Rainbow Dash! You're my hero! " This was followed by many other cheers, making Rainbow's face grow pinker from the constant praise.
Needing to get out of here before the praise overwhelmed her, Rainbow Dash gave a big nod and a smirk before wordlessly taking off into the sky. However, nopony seemed noticed the smaller blue figure running after Rainbow from the ground. " R-Rainbow Dash?! Wait for me!!! " Veemon cried out as he tried catching up to his partner.
Five ponies among the crowd did notice the sprinting rookie. Coincidentally, those four ponies also had digimon. Twilight's brows furrowed as she gazed on at the little dragon digimon with a hint of concern.
" It seems we located Veemon, " Tentomon said, referring to their previously cut off conversation.
" Yeah, we did, " Twilight mumbled, her eyes still following the cyan pegasus and her struggling partner.
With Rainbow Dash
She hadn't been flying long before she decided to land in a quiet spot in Ponyville Park. A shudder when down her back as she was still filled with a strange invigoration from her heroic deed and the praise it had received. A large grin graced her face, " That was so awesome! I was like woosh, and that filly was all like, ' Help! Help! ' and I was like, ' I'll save you! ' and those ponies were all like ' Yeah! Awesome! Rainbow Dash! ' "
It wasn't until her self-recollection of what just occurred was over that Rainbow Dash noticed the panting and wheezing of Veemon. " R-R-Rainbow D-Dash... " he was hunched over, his hands on his knees. His exhaustion was fully visible, as he had pushed himself to even come close to keeping pace with his flying partner.
" Oh, there you are Veemon, " she said so nonchalantly, as if she hadn't noticed his struggle to breath.
" I...thought you...said...if we found a problem...we'd save the day...together, " He leaned himself up against a tree and wiped the sweat from his brow, using it to help catch his breath. " Whew, I thought I'd never get my second wind... " he mumbled before looking back at his partner.
A sheepish grin replaced her previous excitement-filled one, " Eheheh, sorry about that Vee, I guess I just acted without thinking, " She pulled the sky-blue digimon into an affectionate headlock, " don't you worry your blue little head buddy, next time, we'll work together to save the day! "
He looked, almost skeptical from her tone of voice, " Promise? "
" Pinkie promise, " She rubbed the top of his head with her hoof and sat him on her back and started trotting.
Content with the answer given, Veemon grinned, as they went along their way. Surely he had nothing to worry about; Rainbow had just promised they'd get some time to hang out. " I'm sure saving that pony was more than enough to make Rainbow feel useful. Yeah, we'll be hanging out in no time. "
The Duo wandered almost aimlessly through the park, eventually making it back to the center of Ponyville. It was much easier to get around, what with the excitement from earlier having died down. " So little buddy, " Rainbow spoke, snagging Veemon's wandering attention, " since you're still kinda learning your way through Ponyville, why don't I decide how we'll hang out. "
Veemon's eyes began to gleam with excitement, " Sure thing Rainbow Dash! We could go get a bite to eat, we could do something awesome together, or we could just- "
" AAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! "
An ear piercing shriek of terror rung through the air, cutting the rookie digimon off mid sentence, and immediately catching Rainbow's attention. " Veemon, did you hear that!? We gotta hurry! " She blasted off through the air, giving Veemon little time to hang on. Rainbow Dash blitzed through the sky, making her way to the source of the horror-filled cry. A terrified mare came into Rainbow's line of sight, and rapidly rolling down a steep hill not so far off, a runaway baby carriage.
" Runaway toddler!!! " Veemon shouted with one of his clawed fingers extended.
" I see 'em! " Making an immediate turn, Rainbow raced after the carriage. In no time flat, she had reached the carriage, and was trying as quickly as she could to snap her mouth around the carriage's handle.
Without thinking twice, Veemon leapt off Rainbow, " Don't worry little guy, I got ya! " He grabbed hold of the handles and planted his feet as hard as he could into the ground. Trying his best to slow the carriage's rapid descent towards the nearing cliff, he pulled as hard as he could while being drug behind it, " Who's bright idea was it to make a path leading directly off a cliff?!?! "
The sky-blue digimon had managed to slow the carriage considerably, but found the momentum fighting against him. Without warning, though, the carriage came to a complete halt, surprising the little blue dragon, " Did I do it? " he asked no-one in particular.
Despite Veemon's great attempt at stopping the runaway infant, in the end, it had been Rainbow Dash who saved the day. Having flown in front of the carriage, she used her body to bring it to a complete halt. " Phew, that was a close, " A loud sigh escaped her lips before poking her head into the carriage to check on the baby.
Something else quickly caught her attention, though. It was the resounding cheers of the ponies who had been watching the heroic act from below. The cheering brought a tinge of pink to Rainbow's cheeks again, who gave a small bow to the adoring ponies. She was completely unaware of her partner, who at the moment, was sitting on the ground, holding his foot. " ...Oh my aching feet. Is this what cheese feels like when you grate it? " His eyes roamed to Rainbow who was now holding the baby in the air, receiving even more applause.
When the cheering died down, Rainbow had flown to the top of the hill. There the baby's mother had watched the whole thing play out, and happily took the infant from its savior. " Oh, thank you so much!!! "
" All in a day's work, " Rainbow said with a confident grin. The flashes of camera's got her to turn her head their way, as well as make her grin grow.
Veemon trudged up the overly-steep hill, trying to catch up with the speedster he called his partner. " R-Rainbow! Wait for me... " he stopped in his tracks once he saw her making pose after pose for the flashing cameras.
Not far away from the two, Twilight, Tentomon, and the rest of their friends had gone to meet and congratulate Rainbow. Though they stopped when they caught sight of two things; Rainbow soaking in the sudden burst of attention, and Veemon watching quietly from behind the crowd that seemed to have formed in an instant.
" Well, she's certainly being modest, " Applejack practically spat with sarcasm.
" I'll say, " Gaomon nodded, concurred with his partner.
Fluttershy stepped forward, her eyes on the silenced digimon who opted to avoid the crowd. " ...Poor Veemon, he helped save the baby, too... "
Twilight, turned her head towards the shy pegasus, " I'm sure Rainbow Dash will tell him how good of a job he did, " she said with some optimism.
" Or she'll just fly off, " Tentomon added.
" Yes...or she'll just- " Twilight froze in the midst of copying him, " she'll just what now?! "
One of Tentomon's insectoid claws was pointed towards a lightning bolt made of smoke, the only thing that remained from Rainbow Dash before she took off into the sky. " She left while you were talking to Fluttershy, " he spoke with his head facing away from Twilight. It helped having compound eyes sometimes.
The group of ponies and digimon watched as a clearly upset Veemon raced after his partner. The poor mon had been running nonstop for most of the day. The only time he had gotten moments of reprieve were when they first set out, and when Rainbow Dash "attempted" to find something for them to do. The least Rainbow could've done before flying away from the adoring audience was pick him up first.
" Rainbow Dash, wait up!!! " He cried out as he ran with haste, " My feet hurt and my legs are short!! " His cries fell on deaf ears though, as she was already out of earshot. A loud exasperated sigh of defeat came from his mouth as he took off as fast as his two legs could carry him.
In reality though, he hadn't had to run long before managing to catch up to Rainbow Dash. He had caught sight of her floating overhead, " Never fear! Your friendly neighborhood Rainbow Dash is here, " she declared with a heroic tone. A rather ridiculous catchphrase, Veemon noted mentally. It turns out that a balcony holding some elderly ponies on it had broken out from underneath them and was about to collapse. Just what was going on in Ponyville today?!
He watched his cyan partner swiftly catch and gently lower the broken balcony to the ground, saving the ponies in the process. The chanting for this act of heroism was greater than the last two times, as even more ponies had joined in. That's when it finally started getting to her head, she declared that she couldn't hear the ponies, then the chanting got louder. It was finally the sight of Rainbow eating up all the attention, doing tricks, poses, and dances that caused Veemon to have enough. " Ah, that's it! " he turned away with the wave of his hand, " Since Rainbow's so busy playing hero, I'll go do something else...like...like hang out with myself! Yeah, I'm a stand up guy; if I were me, I'd love to hang out with me! " He pointed his thumb to his chest before stomping off.
Again, his and Rainbow's friends had been witnesses to his reaction of Rainbow's "lack of modesty" as Applejack had put it.
An annoyed look graced Twilight's face, " I think if this keeps up, Rainbow's head is going to swell because of the ego she's developed from being a hero. "
" How does one's head swell, Twilight? " Tentomon asked with a turn of his head.
" Oh that's easy! " Pinkie poked her head in between the two, with Lopmon sitting atop it. She grinned and gave Tentomon a nod, assuring him of what she was about to say, " All ya got to do is this! " She began puffing her cheeks out with air, causing her head to inflate in an unrealistic matter. Her head had swollen up like a balloon before popping, sending Lopmon into the air, who then gracefully floated down on his rather large ears.
" Wow Pinkie Pie, I didn't know ponies could do things like that! " The little rabbit said in awe.
Twilight stomped her foot, " That's not important right now! What's important is we follow Rainbow Dash, then check on Veemon. " That seemed to get them to pay attention, and nod in response, including Pinkie, with her newly "regrown" head.
Luckily, they needn't go too far, as Rainbow and her adoring fans had migrated into the nearby Sugarcube Corner.
The sight was more than enough to cause Applejack, and coincidentally, Gaomon, to bring their hoof and paw to their faces. Rainbow was publicly speaking to her fan club, recounting an exaggerated version of the well rescue. " What was that you said about her gettin' a big head Twilight? "
Agumon, who stood next to Rarity, simply scratching his head with his claw with a confused expression. " I still don't get what you guys are talking about. Rainbow Dash's head hasn't grown an inch. "
A small sigh left Rarity as she rubbed the yellow-orange dinosaur on his head, " You need not worry about that, Agumon sweetie, all it means is Rainbow Dash is getting full of herself. " Seeing his confusion grown, she mentally facehoofed. She loved Agumon, but sometimes he wasn't the brightest candle on the cake. " It means, darling, that Rainbow is letting this publicity go to her head, making her misbehave in a way, " she explained carefully.
" I.E., she's being a jerk, " Gaomon said with his arms crossed.
" ...That's one way of putting it, I suppose, " Rarity responded dryly.
" She really didn't need to ignore Veemon... " Fluttershy mumbled from behind Gabumon.
Applejack had her head turned away from the stage. Her friend's arrogance had brought about her sour side, and she had enough of the gloating. " Why I oughta give Rainbow a piece of my mind! " She didn't get a chance to as a cyan leg wrapped around her neck and pulled her to the owners body.
Of course, the limb belonged to Rainbow Dash, who was grinning as arrogantly as possible. " I'll take a rain check on that AJ, how's about instead I immortalize you as my friend! "
Confusion was evident on her face " Immorta-what now? " However, all confusion ceased when a camera flash went off in her face.
That was when Gaomon grabbed Applejack by her hoof and started walking to the exit, " I think we'll be on our way now, don't you all agree? " He looked back at the rest of them, who promptly nodded, and followed.
Before Twilight walked out the door, however, she glanced back at Rainbow, who had busied herself taking pictures with her younger fans. " You coming Twi? " Applejack asked her as she gazed upon what she dubbed Twilight's idea face.
" Actually girls, " Twilight started, " I think we should go pay the mayor a visit. "
" Visit the mayor? " Tentomon echoed, " But I don't have anything good to wear! " He said with faux urgency in his voice.
" I know how you feel darling, truly I do, " Rarity replied with one of her usual exaggerated expressions.
Twilight started off without them, " There's no time for that! Tentomon, Agumon, Gabumon, I need you three more than anypony when we see her. "
" You can count on us! " Agumon saluted.
" I suppose you had a plan then, darling? " Rarity inquired.
Oh, she had a plan alright. Rainbow Dash wasn't the only one who could play hero, but Twilight wouldn't be able to pull this off alone. She'd need some big help for this plan, and lucky for her, she had some very willing volunteers to lend some claws. " You bet I do, " Twilight said with the slyest smile she could.
A Little Later, The Center of Town
At some point in the day, Rainbow Dash's meet'n'greet had been led outside. The fan club who had been so eager to be near her had swiftly turned into a rather long line, with each one of them desiring an autograph from the town's hero. As expected, Rainbow was more than glad to sign each autograph handed to her. Every picture she signed only seemed to pander to her growing ego, something she was completely unaware of. " And one for you, " she spoke, despite the pencil placed in her mouth.
" I wanna be just like you when I grow up, Rainbow Dash! " The filly beamed.
This brought a genuine smile to the "hero's" face, " Maybe someday kid. "
That's when the second ear-piercing shriek rung through the air for the day. This time, however, it belonged to a mare who had been flying high above the town in her hot air balloon. Everything seemed fine as she did this routinely, that was until her balloon suddenly popped, causing her to quickly descend towards the earth below, unsure if she'd meet her demise or not.
" HEEEEEEEEELLLLLP!!! " She cried out in fear and panic.
Despite the imminent danger though, Rainbow Dash continued signing the autographs to her fans, as if she were unaware to what was going on. " Um, Rainbow? " A foal named Snips said to get her attention, " A-aren't you gonna do anything to save her?? "
Rainbow merely smirked and waved him off, " Don't worry, I got about ten seconds to spare. " She signed one last picture before shooting off into the sky, flying in a rather nonchalant matter; very unfitting, considering the situation at hoof.
Something Rainbow hadn't been anticipating happened though. A bright flash of light came from behind one of the various buildings below her, followed by a powerful cry. " Kabuterimon!!! "
" What in the? " Rainbow didn't have time to register what was going on before a giant blue blur came buzzing past her, nearly knocking her from the sky. Much to everyponie’s' shock, a giant blue insect came flying towards the falling balloon. Screams of terror ensued from below, as they perceived this monster as an immediate threat. " Oh great! First the balloon, now a giant monster is attacking?! I bet it's a digimon too, and Veemon isn't here! " Rainbow Dash began mentally panicking.
However, the cries of terror quickly warped into a collective gasp at the monsters next actions. He had caught the air balloon and was carrying it down! " Don't worry, I won't let you fall! " He declared in a very friendly tone, shocking everypony.
Further surprising everypony was the appearance of a masked pony, dressed from head to hoof in purple. From her large brimmed hat to her flowing cape. " Who is that?! " many ponies mumbled aloud.
" She'll take you from here, " The gentle giant insect said as he lowered the balloon's basket towards the masked pony, who leapt towards it, grabbed the pilot, and safely sat her on the ground. The insect monster perched itself on a roof, and was immediately joined by the masked pony, " Glad we could help! " It waved with one of its four arms before flying after his masked companion, who had taken off before him.
Cheers erupted from the gathered crowd. However, unlike before, where the cheers were for a certain rainbow-mane mare, this time they were for the mysterious cloaked pony and her very friendly monster. " Holy hayseed! " A pony exclaimed, " They came out of nowhere!! " another added, " Even though that bug looked scary, it was actually a hero! Just like that pony! " a little filly said amongst the crowd.
Rainbow Dash remained airborne the whole time. Her mouth agape as she looked on at the crowd of ponies below. The crowd that should have been cheering her name, after she saved the balloon pony, but that wasn't the case now was it? It was only when Mayor Mare made her presence known did salt get rubbed in Rainbow's metaphorical wound. " Everypony, I am proud to announce that Ponyville has a new hero! She's a mysterious mare, accompanied by her own monsters to do right by our fare town on this day. As such, for their acts of bravery, I will dub the masked hero and her unique helpers, the Mysterious Mare-Do-Well and her Monstrous Champions!!! "
A low growl of annoyance reverberated from within Rainbow's throat. The anger was evident on her face as she descended nearby the downed balloon. " Mare-Do-Well, huh..? Well that MARE and her monsters better DO WELL to back off! Ponyville's only got room for one hero, and her name is Rainbow Dash! " She started off in the direction opposite of the still formed crowd, but as she started running, she tripped over a stray piece of rope from the balloon. " ...Stupid rope...stupid balloon! " With her annoyance at an all time high, she opted to fly instead.
Unbeknownst to Rainbow, among the crowd was a pair of spying eyes, a pair of purple spying eyes. Twilight had been watching the whole ordeal go down, and a small smile of triumph graced her face as she watched Rainbow take off. Her plan was working like a charm, " I'm sorry Rainbow, but this is for your own good, " she mumbled to herself before meeting up with Tentomon, who was now sitting outside the crowd.
Meanwhile at Sweet Apple Acres
It had been well over an hour since Veemon had departed from Rainbow Dash. A disgruntled look adorned his face as he grumbled, trekking through the vast expanse of apple trees. All he had wanted to do was help Rainbow Dash feel better after what had happened the day prior, then after that, he just wanted to spend some time with his partner. Obviously things hadn't gone as he had planned though.
" It's just not fair!" he cried out to no-one in particular and waved his arms about. A dirt-covered apple core rested at his feet, as he had been kicking it for the majority he had been there. " So what if she's a hero!? I could be a hero, too! " Again, he kicked the core, launching it a few trees away from the tree he was currently under. " Yeah! I could be a hero! And if I were a hero, I certainly wouldn't forget my best friend! "
The thought that Rainbow had simply left him behind upset him thoroughly. Since he had hatched, he had looked up to her as an idol of sort, someone that was just as cool as he was. Being left behind changed that though. He felt betrayed in a sense; all it took was a little praise and she had forgotten that he existed! " Ooooh! I feel like I could explode at any moment!!! " Instead of exploding though, he simply fell backwards, staring up through the trees above.
Not far off from him, three very familiar fillies were going about their daily routine within their tree house. At the moment, however, it seemed they were more busy arguing than anything.
" I'm telling you two! Rainbow Dash is still the greatest hero in all of Ponyville! " Scootaloo shouted in a defensive manner of her idol.
" But what about that new hero pony! She's way cool and she's got one of them digimon things with her! " Applebloom said while waving her hooves around.
Sweetie Belle had meant to step in between the two, act as a mediator for the situation, however, all things fell silent when their young, perceptive ears picked up a cry of anguish not far off. " Did you girls hear that?? " Sweetie Belle asked, sticking her head out the window.
They nodded in response, but out of the two, it was Applebloom who spoke. " We sure did. Somepony doesn't sound too happy... "
That's when an idea popped up out of nowhere within Scootaloo's head. Her eyes bright with sudden inspiration, " What if it's a pony who needs help! We could get our cutie marks by helping that pony!!! "
A similar inspiration-fueled expression spread to her two friends, " You're right Scootaloo! " they shouted in unison.
The three sprinted out of their tree house one by one, in a single file line, albeit at a full sprint. " Cutie Mark Crusaders problem solvers!!! " they shouted, before rushing to the source of the agonized cry.
Veemon, who hadn't been far off, made his way a little further into the orchard, stopping only to marvel at a massive apple tree he had happened upon. The sheer size and thickness of the tree made it perfect for the sudden idea that spawned within his mind. " If I wanna be a hero too, then I gotta get stronger! And there's only one way to do that! " He took a few steps back before taking a full on sprint towards the tree, " Vee Headbutt!!! " He launched himself with the full power of his legs, rocketing towards the tree and colliding with all his might.
The tree was as sturdy as it was old, as his full forced headbutt left only a little mark, and caused several apples to fall. Not one to get discouraged from such a thing, he launched another headbutt, hitting with just as much force as the last one. He did this several times before finally collapsing onto the ground beneath the tree. " I-I'll get stronger! " he yelled out with his index finger pointed to the sky, "...but first, I think I'll just lay here. "
That was the moment that three crusader fillies happened upon him. Each one froze as their eyes landed on the collapsed rookie digimon. "...Look girls... " Sweetie Belle whispered towards her best friends.
" It looks like a dragon! " Applebloom spoke, her whisper being not as subtle as Sweetie's.
" It kinda looks like that thing your sister had with her, Sweetie, " Scootaloo said, bringing up the event from the other day.
They slowly crept towards him, eyeing him as he merely laid there, watching the clouds from behind the mighty trees branches. " Agumon was so nice though...what if this one's dangerous..? " Sweetie Belle whispered, her voice laced with caution.
Scootaloo simply waved her off as being overcautious, " We'll never know if we don't check; make sure first! " And before her friends could stop her, the flightless pegasus took off full sprint towards the rookie digimon.
" Maybe if I'm lucky, another apple will fall off and hit me in the head... " Veemon mumbled aloud.
" HEY!!! " A high pitched shout rang throughout the apple orchard, causing the poor rookie to leap several feet into the air and cling onto the large tree before him. His gaze fell downward, landing on a pony, albeit much smaller than the ones he had met prior. Her head was tilted as she looked at him with a confused expression, " Hey! What are you doing up there? "
" Oh, you know, just hanging around, " he replied with mildly bitter sarcasm.
She turned back towards her two friends, who were still planted securely behind their apple tree. " He's not dangerous you two! ...But he's got an attitude... " she mumbled the last bit, just barely loud enough for Veemon to hear.
Despite Scootaloo's assurance that the digital monster was indeed no danger, the two still trotted forward with a sense of caution. " What's he doing up that tree? " Sweetie Belle asked with genuine curiosity.
" Oh, I'm just enjoying the view... " he grumbled before climbing down.
" You don't seem too happy, " Applebloom pointed out, taking notice of his visible irritation.
However, before she could get an answer out of him, Scootaloo took it upon herself to get in the sky blue monster's face, " You're one of those digi-whatevers like the one Rarity has, aren't you?! " Her voice was laced with more than a little excitement.
This time it was him who tilted his head, " Uhhh, yeah, I'm Veemon, " he gestured towards himself with his thumb.
The three fillies swapped glances with one another, back and forth, so that each one of them looked at each other. " WE FOUND ONE!!! " they cried out at the top of their lungs in unison.
" Oh, he could be- "
" And could go and- "
" And then we'd- "
They continued cutting one another off in their frantic fit of excitement. It eventually got too much for poor Veemon's aching head, " HEY!!! What are you three even saying?! "
" We want you to be our monster!!! " they admitted in unison, again with shouting.
" Sorry, no can do, " Was all he said before taking a seat on what he assumed was a moss-covered rock.
Their excitement suddenly shriveled as soon as it had come, " WHY NOT?!?!? " they shouted once more.
He flinched, their combined voices being too much for his rather sensitive ears, " OK... one, ow!!! Two, the reason why is 'cause I already got a partner...at least, I think I do, " his usual tone devolved into mumbles as he reached the end of his explanation.
Disappointment was quickly replaced with curiosity for the three fillies. They immediately wished to know just who this blue bundle of grumpiness belonged to. " Who's your partner?! " the whole speaking-in-unison thing was getting old for Veemon, but he opted to answer, rather than let his irritation get this best of him.
" ...Rainbow Dash, " he said with a disgruntled sigh. He was completely unprepared for the sudden mix of orange and magenta that enveloped his vision.
" You're Rainbow Dash's?!?!?!? " Scootaloo shouted right in his face, eyes wide at his revelation.
At the Same Time, Back in Ponyville
At that very same moment, Rainbow dash, who let out a small sneeze for reasons unknown to her, was prowling the skies of the town. Now aware that she had a "rival" in the hero game, although she used the term rival loosely, as she had already performed multiple acts of heroism just today. In Rainbow Dash's currently narrow perspective, Mare-Do-Well's action was a fluke brought along by the fact she was aided by a digimon...at least, Rainbow was certain that's what it was.
" Just you watch... " she mumbled to nopony at all, " I've got my eyes wide open! I'm vigilant, and as soon as trouble reels it's ugly head, BAM!!! " Her mumbles were abruptly halted by her unnecessary sound effect, " I'll be on it like Pinkie at the bakery. "
As if brought upon by her very words, screams echoed throughout the town. This being the third time today she had heard screams of terror like this, and she knew exactly where it was coming from. The same cliff from before! " Veemon was right. Who's idea was it to put that path there!? " However, the mere mental mentioning of her partner brought upon an unexpected feeling of guilt. That feeling wasn't long for this world though as her eyes now landed upon a large carriage, the second carriage to go down this hill, that was in the process of rolling right towards the cliff's edge.
Not one wanting to be showed up twice, Rainbow immediately blasted towards the tourist-filled carriage. She got right up next to it, beaming with confidence as she readied her catchphrase. " Never fear! Your friendly neighborhood Rainbow Da- "
" Is that really necessary right now?! " one of the tourist ponies cried out, " Skip your catch phrase and save us! Please!!! "
" Ugh, fine... " She said with the roll of her eyes. She quickly flew to the front of the wagon, grabbing hold of the now broken shafts of the wagon. Using all her available might, she stamped her hooves hard into the ground, trying her hardest to stop the carriage. Try as she might though, this carriage was much, much heavier than the previous one. In no time at all, her grip gave way, causing her to go rolling under the carriage, before being tossed behind it with a cry.
The ponies in the carriage began panicking further; their only semblance of rescue had just failed! That's when a familiar flash came shining from above, followed by mighty roar, this one different form the last one however. " Greymon!!! "
A large, orange dinosaur covered in blue stripes with a brown carapace covering his skull came falling from the clouds above. He wasn't alone though, falling with him was the all-too-familiar Mare-Do-Well! The duo seemed to literally be dropping in to save the day. The masked mare lifted her hind legs, readied to stop the carriage, and her dinosaur companion lowered his body, ready to use his mass to bring it to a complete halt once she slowed it.
" Sorry folks! The road's closed! " The dinosaur said in an almost playful mannerism, and he had a reason to. Their plan worked perfectly! The carriage came in contact with Mare-Do-Well's hooves, causing her to slide a short distance as she neared the cliff, but ultimately, it was Greymon's large body that stopped it, and with no trouble either. " Last stop! Would everypony please exit the vehicle in a calm and orderly fashion! "
Calm and orderly isn't what they received though. Instead, the ponies aboard the carriage hopped off and began celebrating, one even going so far as to kiss the dirt. However, their cries of thanks that they were alive quickly turned into cries of gratitude. " Thank you so much Mare-Do-Well! You and your amazing monster!!! "
" Aw, you're gonna make me blush, it was nothing, " Greymon sheepishly scratched the back of his neck, his arms just being a tad too short to reach his head. That was when the dinosaur digimon noticed his companion had already vacated the area, causing his eyes to go wide, " Ack! She left without me! Wait up!!! " Greymon called out to the pony who was now leaping away on hilltops, leaving him to rush after her.
Just up the hill from the now safe carriage of vacationing ponies, Rainbow stood there in shock. It all happened so fast, she was tossed aside, and the next thing she knew, the day had been saved again. Not by her though. " I...I can't believe this...she beat me again! " a scowl quickly replaced her shocked expression, as frustration began setting in, " This is the last time! " She quickly took to the sky, a mixture of anger and determination fueling her now.
However, not all was right for much longer. Rainbow's constant flying back and forth across Ponyville had attracted something's attention. A large serpentine shadow passed over Ponyville in the blink of an eye, vanishing into the thick clouds above the town as it trailed its prey.
As for Rainbow, she flew across town, her eyes glued to the ground below her, searching vigilantly for anypony in need of saving. All that mattered now was that she beat Mare-Do-Well to the punch and prove she's the only hero Ponyville needs, " Just you wait Mare-Do-Well, I'll show you up this ti- huh?! " Rainbow had been passing over a construction site at that moment, when suddenly things went awry. The crane had shorted out; it was out of control, swinging the timber it had been lifting in a way that the rope holding it snapped, sending the piece of timber flying!
Rainbow saw this as an opportunity; she had found a crisis and there was no sight of her "rival". She made a heroic pose, feeling more confident, now that she had a chance to be the hero this time. " Never fear! Your friendly ne- WAH! " she never got to finish as the piece of timber sailed right by her and right into the building behind her.
The construction ponies began panicking as the building they had been diligently crafting began falling apart, the various pieces of lumber, metal, and concrete crashing down towards the ground. " Somepony help! " they cried.
However, the only pony there at the moment was too busy dodging debris, which was coming down far too quickly for her to maneuver. " D-Don't worry!! Woah! I-I I'm on my! Yikes!! I'm on my way!!! "
Suddenly though, for the third time today, a bright flash shone from nearby, and a new cry rang through the air, this one more akin to a howl than the other roars. " Garurumon!!! "
" Look there!!! " A pony pointed out toward two figures leaping over the nearby crane into the construction site. The first was the now Famous-in-Ponyville Mare-Do-Well, and accompanying her this time was a new monster. A large, majestic, blue, striped wolf, who ran in tandem with the purple-clad hero.
" Warning! Ponies at work!!! " The duo sprinted into the crumbling site, their attentions focused solely on the panicking ponies. " You get right I get left! " he declared, before leaping through the oncoming debris with grace. With little effort, he bobbed and weaved through the falling hazards, carefully, but quickly, lifting two ponies onto his back. " Hang onto your hardhats everypony! "
Rainbow watched helplessly as the duo effortlessly rescued every last worker. The wolf digimon had even saved a worker Rainbow was going to rescue. Her mouth was agape as she witnessed the ponies cheering for masked mare and her wolf companion. " But I...how did....when did.... " Rainbow stammered, unable to comprehend how she had been beaten again, especially since she was the one who found the crisis in the first place.
Garurumon looked back towards the sky as he and Mare-Do-Well sprinted out of sight, " Close your mouth Rainbow Dash! That's how you catch flies!!! " This got a giggle from his supposedly silent companion, however nopony was around the hear it.
Once more, frustration and anger took hold of Rainbow Dash, " That's it! It's time to step up my A-game! " Without another word, she blasted into the sky, unaware of the looming shadow trailing from above.
Sweet Apple Acres
" There's no way that's true!!! " a loud shrill voice roared through the Sweet Apple Acres orchard, scaring several birds away. Said voice belonging to one Scootaloo, who at the moment, was being held back by her two best friends, to keep her from assaulting their new digital acquaintance. " There's no way Rainbow Dash did that! She's a hero! You're probably just jealous!!! " Scootaloo shouted out in defense of her idol.
" Sc-Scootaloo! Calm down already!! " Sweetie Belle pleaded, her grip giving out on the surprising strong filly.
Veemon merely looked on at the filly who so desperately wanted to give him a piece of her mind. " Hey believe me or don't, all I'm saying is Rainbow left me behind. It's not like I said she steals candy from babies. "
" You may as well have! Rainbow Dash is the most kind and considerate pony ever! " this claim earned disapproving gazes from the two fillies holding her. " What?! It's true! "
A sigh escaped Veemon as he turned away from them on his moss-covered rock. " Whatever, I'll just wait for Rainbow to let her ego deflate and forgive her. There's no real point staying mad at her, even if she is being a big jerk...especially since she's my ticket back into the house... " he said with his back turned to them, as well as mumbling the last bit.
" Well, " Applebloom spoke up, " it's good you can look past every- "
The red-maned filly was cut off by a sudden outburst from the blue rookie, " It's not like I'm the reason she's out playing hero or anything! I'm the one who suggested we should go out and make ourselves feel better about yesterday! " he began waving his arms around mid-rant, " Sure, she can fly and everything! Sure, nopony seemed to notice me, even though I stand out like a sore thumb!! I helped save that baby! She didn't even say thank you!!! "
The fillies, Scootaloo included, were now silenced as they watched the little blue monster comically rant and rave. However, it wasn't him per se, instead they were more focused on the fact he was slowly moving away, despite being seated. " Uhhh, Veemon? " Sweetie Belle spoke his name, fighting back a fit of oncoming giggles.
He froze in the midst of his rant, his head turned back with his eye drifting towards them, " Huh? What is it? "
Now Applebloom was fighting back from giggling, " Ya...ya know that the rock yer sittin' on is a turtle, right? "
" A what? " his gazed drifted down towards the green reptile that was slowly, but surely, carrying him off. " Agh!! The rock is alive!!! " Without hesitation, he leapt from the animal's shell, clinging onto the nearest tree. His red eyes were glued on the creature that had attempted to abduct him, " Hey, buddy! Don't you know mon-napping is illegal?! " His attention was averted from the "evil" reptile, when the three fillies watching him erupted in fits of uncontrollable laughter, " ...Ugh. "
Right then, and without any warning, something, or somepony to be exact, came soaring overhead. It was Rainbow Dash!...and she was livid, her irate expression clearly showing this off. " Rainbow dash!!! " Scootaloo called out to her idol. Sadly, her attempt at gaining the speedster's attention was in vain, as she was already out of sight by the time her name left the filly's mouth.
" Did, uh...did Rainbow look angry to any of ya'll? " Applebloom asked in a worrisome tone.
Veemon went to give his two cents, when something else caught his eye, something moving about in the clouds above, trailing after Rainbow in a predatory fashion. " That's scary... " Leaving the safety of his tree, Veemon started off in the same direction as Rainbow.
" Hey, Veemon, where are you going? " Sweetie Belle questioned.
" Huh, Veemon's goin' somewhere? " Applebloom lowered her gaze from the sky and towards the leaving rookie.
Simply walking soon turned into a full on sprint for Veemon as the shadow his eyes were locked on slowly gained shape. " Oh, that is definitely not good!! "
" Wait for us! " The three fillies called out as they trailed after him.
Minutes Later in the Midst of Ponyville
Rainbow Dash had done it! She had Mare-Do-Well pinned and was readying to remove her mask. " Finally after being driven crazy all day! I'll finally show the world who you are! " She grasped the edge of the mask and proceeded to pull, " And who you are is! -P-Pinkie Pie?! "
The unmasked pony beneath her gave a rather sheepish grin as she looked up at her cyan friend, " Eheheh...present. "
" But if you're...then...then how- " She didn't get to sputter long as a new figure entered her field of vision. It was another Mare-Do-Well! " What the heck is going on?! Who is that?! "
The second masked mare quickly answered her question by simply removing her mask. Revealing it to be none other than Twilight Sparkle, again, leaving Rainbow utterly befuddled. " Hey there Rainbow Dash. "
After one confusion revelation after another, Rainbow had enough. " Alright! Alright, enough! I get it, you girls were trying to teach me a lesson...but...that doesn't explain the digimon that were with you! "
That was when the same large insect digimon from before landed before them. However, the moment it touched down on the round, it began glowing, and receding in size. The light then faded, revealing Tentomon where Kabuterimon was, " Guilty as charged. "
" If you were that one...then who was... " She turned her gaze to Agumon and Gabumon who had their arms raised.
" Sorry for tricking you Rainbow, " Gabumon apologized in a rather Fluttershy-like manner.
" You really should've figured that out sooner, " Agumon pointed out.
" She really should have, " Pinkie bluntly agreed.
" So...this whole time, all that, every rescue, was all of you just...teaching me a lesson? " Rainbow Dash mumbled aloud, her eyes drifting towards the ground as it finally sunk in.
" She finally gets it, " Gaomon said with crossed arms as he took his place next to Applejack.
" She sure does, " Applejack nodded.
Twilight stepped forward and patted Rainbow Dash on the shoulder, " We're sorry for deceiving you Rainbow Dash, but it was the only way to shake some sense into you. Each one of us played a role in it all. I myself was the one who saved the balloon with Tentomon. "
" And what a daring rescue it was, " Tentomon added.
Applejack finished removing her costume and placed her trademark hat atop her head, " Me and Agumon were the ones who saved them ponies in that carriage. That champion form of his is all muscle, so that made it a breeze. "
Agumon rubbed the back of his head sheepishly from Applejack's compliment, " Aw shucks, it was nothing. Applejack could've stopped it on her own. "
" Ooo! Ooo! Me next! Me next! " Pinkie hyper-actively hopped back and forth, happily ready to explain her part. " Me and Gabumon saved aaaallllllllll the construction site ponies! Then we stopped for a nice tasty cupcake! "
" I was just glad to be able to help out... " Gabumon whispered modestly.
" You see, Rainbow, everypony, and everymon, played some part, " Twilight concluded.
That's when Rainbow locked her eyes with Twilight, still wondering why, " But didn't you want me to be a hero...? "
She nodded in response and gave a kind, but somehow sly, smile, " Of course we did, Rainbow, but... "
" A hero shouldn't have to brag about bein' a hero, " Applejack finished, as Gaomon nodded at her statement.
That's when Rainbow got her own sheepish smile, her eyes now moved back to the ground beneath her, " Yeah...I guess I did brag a bit... " A resounding " AHEM " from everypony present caused her to change her wording, " OK, ok, I bragged a lot. "
" ...Not to mention you hurt poor Veemon's feelings, " Fluttershy whispered, just loud enough for them to here.
That got the whole of Rainbow's attention, " Oh no, Veemon!!! " She shot straight up into the air, her head grasped in panic between her hooves. " Oh no no no, I was so busy being a hero I forgot all about him! " She began frantically looking back and forth in the air, hoping to spot him, " Where is he?! "
Gabumon stepped forward to answer, " He walked off after you saved that balcony full of old ponies. I'd say from the look on his face, he thought you didn't need him... "
Rainbow's heart sunk. Veemon was the whole reason she was even out of her house today, and she just abandoned him. " Don't worry best buddy, I'm coming for you!!! " She spread her wings and went to take off.
" Rainbow! Wait!! " Twilight shouted, causing Rainbow to halt in the air.
" I have to find Veemon and apologize!!! " she yelled back at her lavender friend.
Twilight gave an understanding nod, " We know, Rainbow, so let us help you. You've been out and about all day long helping, or trying to help ponies. Let somepony else help you. "
Stopping momentarily, Twilight's offer wasn't really one she could refuse, Rainbow was drained in both a physical and mental sense, " Alright Twilight...Thank y- "
" RAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!! " A savage roar echoed down from the clouds above, causing everypony, and the digimon accompanying them, to freeze in fright.
" Wh-what the hay was that?! " Rainbow swiveled her head back and forth, trying to find the source of the terror-inducing roar. Her question wouldn't go unanswered as the creature responsible for the roar came speeding by her, sending the cyan speedster as it flew by.
" Ooohh! What if it's a sky whale!!! And it came to race Dashy! " Pinkie said without a care in the world or a thought in her head.
Despite the urgency, Twilight found time to bring her hoof to her face, unable to believe some of the things that came from her pink friend's mouth, " There are so many errors in what you just said, Pinkie pie...Whales don't live in the sky, and if they did, why would they want to race Rainbow Dash!? Secondly, whales do not roar! "
Before another word could be said about the offhanded subject, the massive blur came by again, this time stopping just in the air above the ponies. Tentomon, along with every other digimon present, began to tremble as they finally got a good look at what was above them. " Oh dear...Oh my... "
" T-Tentomon? Wh-...what is that thing?! " Twilight pointed her hoof to the monster in the sky.
" A-Airdramon...?! " Twilight repeated in a shaky voice. The monster above them was long and serpentine in shape, its bone-white head adorned with antler-like horns and razor sharp teeth, its giant red wings filled with holes that didn't seem to hinder its flight in any way. Lastly, the most notable thing about the digimon, it had the same crazed look in its eyes as all the previous digimon before it, " J-just what's going on... "
" At this point...I don't even wanna know... " Applejack muttered aloud.
Gaomon gritted his teeth as he took a protective stance in front of Applejack, " ...He doesn't look too happy to see us. "
Agumon did the same for Rarity, " ...Airdramon is a strong flying digimon. It's really intelligent and its aerial attacks are nothing to laugh at, especially its Spinning Needle attack; it'll make a tornado that would make you wish it were a thousand needles poking you... "
" It must've been following Rainbow all day, " Gaomon added, " she was flying so much it might've mistaken her for a snack... "
Rainbow Dash wasted no time in flying to the safety of her friends, still worried for Veemon and now everypony else, " If that thing's so intelligent, why does it look like it wants to pick a fight? "
" If I were to make an assumption, it would have to be related to the other digimon we've encountered, " Tentomon explained out loud.
Tentomon was right, and Twilight knew this. It was just like Tyrannomon, Flarizemon, and Ikkakumon. Something was driving these digimon to be hostile, and it seemed that not even the friendship could undo what was causing it. "If that's the case... " she looked back at Rarity and Fluttershy, who both gave a nod, completely understanding what Twilight was getting at, even if Fluttershy didn't really want to.
It was good the two understand, as they wouldn't be able to get another word in. Airdramon was on the attack! " RAAAAH! Spinning Needle!!! " the serpentine terror dived down towards the group of pony, before giving a mighty flap of its wings, shooting out a vacuum of air in a spiral shape.
" Everypony, get out of the way!!! " Twilight shouted, which was followed by everypony, save for Pinkie, doing as they were told.
" Ooooooo! Spirally! " she eyed the oncoming object, which threatened her well being.
" Pinkie Pie, move!!! " Twilight exclaimed, picking the pony up with her magic and lifting her to safety. She had moved the curly-maned pony just in time; the powerful spiral came flying back at high speeds, tearing the ground apart, as well as nearby buildings, as it impacted. The damage was enough to tick Twilight off; she glared at the serpent digimon, her cutie mark glowing, as her ambition to stop the monster flared, " Alright, that's it! Come on Tentomon! "
" I'm right behind you Twilight! " Tentomon raised its claw in the air, ready to rumble.
" Let's not miss the fun Agumon, dear, " Rarity smiled at her partner as her mark began to glow.
" Let's kick some digi-tail! " Agumon exclaimed.
Fluttershy looked at Gabumon, who gave her a reassuring nod, causing her own mark to light up, " ...Gabumon and I will help too. "
" We certainly will, " Gabumon nodded.
Without missing a beat, the three rookies began glowing brightly as their partners filled them with power.
" Tentomon digivolve too!!! "
" Agumon digivolve too!!! "
" Gabumon digivolve too!!! "
The light faded, and in the place of the rookies were the three same monsters that had helped save Ponyvillve all day long.
" Kabuterimon!!! "
" Greymon!!! "
"Garurumon!!! "
Rainbow Dash looked in awe, having witnessed them digivolve to their champion forms for the first time, " That...is so cool!!! And a bit unfair... "
The sight of the three new champions didn't seem to deter the raging Airdramon in the slightest, in fact it only seemed to make it angrier. " Spinning Needle!!! " it roared, as it gave another flap of its mighty wings, launching forward another high-speed spiral.
The trio of champions each jumped out of the way, once again letting the incredibly dangerous attack wiz by, damaging more buildings and land behind them. " Oops, gonna have to fix that... " Greymon said with his head turned towards the destruction. A growl then resounded from the striped dinosaur's throat, " But not before I fix this giant sky worm! " He sucked in air and flung his head back, " Nova Bla-agh! " Instead of a mighty ball of fire, a small plume of fire emerged from the champion with a loud cough. " ...Oh my stomach, " the horned monster doubled over, looking winded already.
" Greymon darling, what's wrong?! " Rarity questioned in a panic, unsure as to why he couldn't attack.
Garurumon growled as he glanced at his exhausted comrade, " Don't worry Greymon, he's all mine. " The graceful blue wolf went prone as it prepared to leap forward, " Howling Blast-ergh! " But a leap isn't what happened, instead Garurmon crashed to the ground as a small puff of blue fire escaped its maw, " ...I'm pooped... "
" Garurumon!! " Fluttrershy cried out, desperately wanting to run toward her friend.
A grumble came from Kabuterimon. Both his allies were already exhausted, and he was pretty sure he knew why. Despite this though, he had to fight back. He had wings, meaning they were theoretically on an even playing field. " Wings, don't fail me now! " he went up and crossed his arms over his body, " Electro Sho-aaagh! " But his wings gave out mid flight, causing him to fall on top of the others, " That fall hurt less than I thought it would... "
Twilight was dumbfounded. Why couldn't the digimon fight?! They had been given the power necessary to digivolve, they should've had more than enough strength to fight, " Kabuterimon, what's going on?! "
The giant insect lifted its eyeless head up, and "glanced" at Twilight. " ...I was afraid of this. We're out of energy... "
" O-out of energy?! " this was not something she had foreseen.
" ...We've been going around in our champion forms all day long... " Greymon groaned.
" ...We haven't had a chance to eat anything to refill our strength... " Garurumon added.
That's when a realization hit Twilight that hadn't hit her before, " So that's why they eat so much...they use the energy from the food as fighting strength...and the stronger the form, the more energy. Girls! We've had them going around all day without a chance to recharge! "
" Then...what can we do...? " Fluttershy whimpered.
No answer was given, and Airdramon wasn't stopping, " Spinning Needle!!! " This time, there was nowhere to go. The attack impacted, sending all three exhausted champions flying back. They landed in one big pile among the debris, before glowing and shrinking, as they reverted to their previous forms.
" I think I sprained an antenna... " Tentomon groaned.
" Ooh...My fur is going to be covered in dirt for a week... " Gabumon was aching.
Poor Agumon had spirals in his eyes as he was laid out on his back, " No Rarity, I don't wanna get back on the ferris wheel... "
Seeing her friends in pain irked Rainbow. If this thing was after her, then it was going to get her, " Alright you jagged-toothed creep! You wanted Rainbow Dash, well you're about to get what you wanted! " She sped towards the serpentine champion, flying through its coiled body to draw its attention, and fortunately, it was working. However, unfortunately for Rainbow...it was working...
" RAAAAAGH!!! " The rampaging monster came speeding after her, showing that even in a blind rage, it was masterful in the air.
" Not good! Not good!! Not good!!! " she looked back in a panic, seeing the beast right on her tail, while at the same time, managing to not see the building in her way, which she promptly crashed into. " Did anyone get the numbed of that building that cut me off... " she spoke in a daze, one that she quickly shook off. A low growl caused the now-terrified pony to slowly turn, meeting face-to-mouth with the digimon that had been hunting her. " ...Veemon...I'm sorry I was such a jerk...I really am...Hopefully you'll find somepony just as awesome as me once I'm gone....Oh who am I kidding, there's no way that'll happen. "
" RAAAAAAAAAARGH!!! " Airdramon let out another feral roar. It raised its head up, its mouth open, its teeth ready to strike. Rainbow shut her eyes tight as she waited for what was going to come next.
" VEE HEADBUTT!!! " a sky-blue blur rocketed forward, impacting with Airdramon's head, causing it to reel back in pain. The rainbow-maned pony looked up, and she could've sworn tears were dripping from her eyes. It was Veemon!!! He had landed right in front of her, now sitting on the ground, rubbing his head, " Owie...owie...owie...never gonna do that again... "
" Veemon!!! " Rainbow cried out in joy and relief, " Veemon, you came back!! "
Even with pain surging through his head, Veemon still turned back and gave her a big thumbs up, " H-hey, how could I be the most awesome digi-partner around if I couldn't even show up? " After dusting himself off, Veemon turned back towards the now-recuperated Airdramon. Despite the obvious odds stacked against him, Veemon's confidence was blazing, " C'mon then ya big palooka! Let me show you how a real mon fights!! Vee Headbutt!!! "
The cyan rookie rocketed headfirst towards the much larger monster, his head lowered as he braced for impact. Airdramon wasn't having any of that though, as the sky serpent effortlessly curved its body, letting Veemon harmlessly fly past, before smacking him to the ground with a whip of its tail. " Aagh!! " Veemon yelled out in pain as his body crashed to the ground.
Rainbow Dash's eyes widen in horror as she watched Airdramon ready its wings to attack her downed partner. " Veemon!!! " Without thinking, she flew as fast as she could and latched onto the attacking digimon's wing. This obviously took Airdramon by surprise as it began to thrash its wings about viciously, trying to get the pestering pony off. Rainbow wasn't letting go though; if it meant keeping Veemon from getting hurt, she'd take whatever this crazed beast could dish out.
" R-Rainbow! Don't! " Veemon protested.
The other ponies and digimon could only watch helplessly as their friend risked herself. The only digimon capable of fighting Airdramon were out of commission. " Rainbow Dash...if only we could do something... " Twilight's voice was filled with desperation.
Meanwhile, Airdramon's temper was peaking. This bite-sized snack shouldn't be this annoying, and yet, she wouldn't let go. " RAAAAAAAAARGH!!! " it began to furiously flap its ragged wings, kicking up powerful winds in its rage.
Rainbow's grip was waning as the harder the wing she held onto flapped, the harder it became to hold on. She tried her best, but eventually, it became too much, " ...Veemon, I'm sorry I was a jerk! " With a single flap of Airdramon's mighty wings, Rainbow Dash was sent hurtling towards the ground.
Veemon watched in terror as the winged-serpent came closer and closer to his friend. " S-stay away from her!!! Fight like a real mon! "
Magenta eyes cracked open, and gazed onward. First at the monster flying towards her, and then towards the smaller, injured monster laid out behind it. " ...Veemon... " she clenched her eyes shut, readying once again for the monster to attack, completely unaware of her cutie mark, which was now glowing.
Veemon tried harder to stand, his own rage building, as his need to aid Rainbow Dash grew. " RAINBOW DAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!!! " he roared out. Then, it happened...his eyes widened and his screams stopped, as his body began furiously glowing.
This got everypony and everymon's attention, even the out of control Airdramon. " Could he be...? " Twilight began to speak, but didn't get a chance to finish as the light brightened.
" Veemon digivolve too!!! "
VEEDRAMON!!! "
The light faded, revealing not Veemon, but instead a new, bigger, stronger champion level digimon. It closely resembled a larger Veemon, standing roughly half of Greymon and Kabuterimon's height. It's body was a much darker blue, with a large blue V on the center of its chest. It adorned three impressive horns atop its head, two on the back and one on the tip of his nose. His body, previously small and thin, was now more muscular and defined, and topping it all off was the scar he adorned over his eye, making him a fearsome sight.
" So...cool... " Rainbow Dash whispered, her eyes as wide as saucers.
" Who...who is that? " Twilight asked aloud.
To her surprise, it was Tentomon who responded, " That would be Veedramon...He's Veemon's champion form, and an incredibly rare one at that, " the red insect hobbled over to his partner as he spoke, " Veedramon isn't just rare, he's also strong, even for a champion level...His signature attacks are the V-Arrow Breath and his Magnum Punch, get hit by either of those and your day is going to get a lot worse. "
" Veedramon... " Rainbow Dash mumbled.
The two digimon silently eyed one another, neither making a move at first. All was still. It was only when Veedramon made a single gesture that Airdramon engaged, that gesture being an incredibly cocky grin, reminiscent of Rainbow Dash, " Come on ya worm with wings! "
" RAAAAAAAAAAAAGHR!!! "
" HRAAAAH!!! "
Airdramon flew headfirst at its powered-up adversary, and Veedramon rushed the winged terror, filled with a newfound vigor; he felt like he could do anything! The two champions met halfway, Aidramon's jaws wide open in an attempt to bite Veedramon. " Magnum Punch! " Veedramon suddenly roared, rearing his fist back and launching a mighty punch at his foe, slamming right into its face. The force of the punch sent the winged-dragon flying into the side of a house, then falling straight to the ground. " Oh yeah! How'd that taste! " Veedramon said with a pump of his fist.
The now furious Airdramon wasn't going down that easily though. " RAAARAAAAGH!!! " it let out a furious roar as it rose into the air, pulling back its wings before letting loose an attack. " SPINNING NEEDLE!!! "
This cyclone was by far the largest, and it was hurdling right towards Veedramon. " Geez! What a blowhard!! " he growled out, shielding not only himself, but the ponies and digimon behind him from the painful winds. As he held his arms in front of his face, a blue light began emitting from his partially opened mouth, " I'll show you something real fancy... V-Arrow Breath!!! " A shining blue beam shot from his mouth, blasting forward, hitting Airdramon's wing, making it crash hard into the ground.
At this point, Rainbow had managed to pick herself up off the ground. However, her eyes never left her powered-up partner. Not even the pain flooding her poor aching body pulled her attention away from Veedramon. The pride she was feeling wouldn't allow it. " Thrash him for me, would ya? "
" Way ahead of ya! " he gave a big toothy grin as he grabbed hold of Aidramon's horn, " Sorry buddy! This chapter's gone on long enough! "
" HEY!!! " Pinkie Pie shouted from where she was, " ONLY I'M ALLOWED TO SAY THINGS LIKE THAT!!! "
Pinkie's nonsensical shouting didn't seem to bother Veedramon; he was ready to finish this fight. " Here comes the wind up, " he pulled his fist back as far as he could while keeping Airdramon's horn in his grip.
" Sock it to him!!! " Rainbow Dash cheered on.
" Magnum!! PUNCH!!! " He delivered a devastating uppercut, knocking the serpentine champion backwards and across the ground. Airdramon was in a daze, the power-packed punch had easily disoriented it. That's when Veedramon grabbed its tail, breaking it from its dazed state with eyes wide. The grin remained on Veedramon's face, " He steps up to the plate! And he's gonna swing for the fences!! " With a great heave from his mighty arms, Veedramon lifted Airdramon from the ground, and begun spinning him in circles by his tail.
Off with the rest of the main six and their digimon. A table had seemingly appeared from nowhere. Sitting at said table was Pinkie Pie and Lopmon, both wearing headsets, which again, seemingly came from nowhere. " Ladies and gentlecolts we are watching history in the making here. Veedramon's had an amazing season so far, and doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon!! "
" I'd say he's batting a thousand! " Lopmon gleefully added on.
Meanwhile, Veedramon kept spinning Airdramon, getting faster and faster, " I've had fun, but it's time to play ball!!! " With one last powerful spin around, Veedramon swung Airdramon upwards, releasing its tail, and letting it fly, fly, fly away.
" It's going! It's going! " Pinkie and Lopmon chanted.
" Just to be safe! " Veedramon sucked in air, and the same blue glow from before poured from out of his teeth, " V-ARROW BREATH MAX!!! " He opened his maw wide, firing a much larger blue beam from his mouth. It traced across the sky, punching holes through clouds as it closed in on its target.
" RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!! " Airdramon roared as it helplessly rocketed through the air. Its roar was drowned out as the bright blue light overtook it, exploding shortly afterwards.
" Outta the ball park!!! " Veedramon pumped his fist high in the air.
" It's a home run!!! " Pinkie and Lopmon cheered. Their cheering was added onto with the cheering of everypony else, celebrating the grand slam victory.
A smile graced Rainbow Dash's face as she watched her partner cheer for his victory. She had wanted to trot up to him and give him a big hug, but opted to rush towards him when she saw him shining and shrinking. Watching as the freshly-reverted DemiVeemon fell was more than enough to cause her to slide, catching the exhausted digimon in her hooves. She didn't even care to dust herself off as she picked the in-training digimon up and pulled him into a hug, " You are THE most awesome monster I know! " She nuzzled him as she gave him praise.
" I know I am... " DemiVeemon said in a familiar smug tone, mimicking Rainbow Dash's demeanor from earlier.
The rest of the main six trotted up to and circled around their friends. Twilight quickly pulled Rainbow into hug, not just glad to see her safe, but glad that it was over, " I'm so relieved you're ok! ".
" Me too, " she responded, " but I wouldn't be if Veemon hadn't shown up when he did! "
Her purple gaze fell on DemiVeemon and her smile grew, " You're right. It looks like at the end of the day, Veemon ended up being the real hero.
Everypony present cheered and agreed with Twilight, everypony except Rainbow Dash. She simply kept her partner held close, not wanting to lose him again like she had earlier, " You're definitely my hero. "
In the midst of the celebrating, Pinkie Pie began tapping Rainbow Dash for her attention, " Hey Dashie, what's with that turtle? " What she was actually pointing to was a tortoise, the same one that had tried "abducting" Veemon earlier.
" Oh yeah, " DemiVeemon spoke up in his tired tone of voice, " I forgot to tell you, I made a friend today... "
Laughter broke out among the group. It was a surefire sign that the day was safe and they could go home and rest peacefully.
Elsewhere, In the Darkest Part of Equestria
Deep within the recesses of dark, dreary cave, rested a chamber that housed an evil that had begun to take root within Equestria.
Footsteps echoed throughout cave, the sound bouncing off the walls that had formed perfectly from ages of erosion. The sound of heeled boots grew louder and louder as it reached the main chamber, the source of the evil. " Another failure, " a dark, stern, feminine voice growled out as she seated herself in a makeshift chair.
" Heheheh, " a chuckle reverberated throughout the chamber, belonging to an individual standing across the room, " What did ya expect, doll face? " The male voice spoke in a cocky, carefree tone, " The saying is 'third time's the charm' not 'third time didn't work', better keep trying. "
" Oh shut up, " the female voice spoke as if the sound of the males voice brought great irritation, " besides, I found something out about this world that will make up for the lack of success. "
The sound of heavy boots and the flap of a long coat grew closer to the owner of the feminine voice. " Is it someone who can sew? My coat got a nasty tear in it on the way into this place. "
" No, you idiot! " she growled out, but quickly regain her composure and cleared her throat, " What I found out was that not everything in this world is sparkles and rainbows. There are a few bad eggs among the general populace, and I should be able to use that to further our agenda. Until then, we'll just keep doing what we've been doing. "
" Sooooo, absolutely nothin' then? "
" Oh, just shut up already! "
The sound of heavy, cloven hooves walking towards them diverted them from the threat of an ensuing argument. " You're both insufferable. Quit your pointless bickering and get out there before I delete you myself, " threatened the owner of a deep, dark voice.
" I'd like to see ya try, horn head! " the male voice was issuing a challenge.
That was when the feminine voice cut in, " Neither of you are at your full strength, it'd be pointless and you'd just wear yourselves out. He does have a point, however, we needn't dawdle here...there is much to do. "
" I agree. "
" Eh, whatever. "
A wicked cackle left the female's throat, echoing throughout the cave, and out into the night sky.
