//-------------------------------------------------------// Return of King Sombra -by The 14th Doctor- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Return of the Dark King //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Return of the Dark King      Twilight Sparkle was having nightmares that night, nightmares of a certain dark king who had once ruled the Crystal Empire. In her mind, that certain king was laughing to himself.        "So Twilight actually managed to beat Lord Tirek." The Dark King laughed. Twilight tossed and turned as King Sombra was in her mind, but she was unaware of this. Sombra decided it was best to reveal himself to Twilight.          "Ah, the princess of friendship." He laughed inside her mind. Twilight woke up, looking around the room.         "Who said that?" She asked.         "I did." Sombra laughed in her mind. Twilight gasped.        "No, not possible, you were destroyed by the crystal heart!" Twilight told him.         "Yes, but a piece of me survived and implanted itself in your mind." Sombra told her.         "Oh when my friends find out..." Twilight started.       "Oh but they won't." Sombra said. "You will be my salvation, my way back to life." Sombra laughed again.         "Yeah, right!" Twilight yelled. "You have no choice, I'm in your mind, remember, I can control it, your thoughts, feelings, everything."  Sombra told her. Twilight remained silent at that last part.          "Silence, eh? Good choice." Sombra said.      The next day, Twilight went to Sweet Apple Acres to visit Applejack.      "Why Howdy, Twilight. How are ya, sugarcube?" Applejack asked.       "Fine, Applejack." Twilight said. Then, her eyes glowed red with smoke emitting out of them, she shook her head and it stopped.       "You sure you're fine, Twi?" Applejack asked.        "Yeah, totally fine." Twilight managed a fake smile. "What?" She asked Sombra in her mind.          "I told you, I control every bit of you." He stated.          "Yeah, Yeah, I got it, OK?" She sounded irritated. Sombra remained quiet. Then, Sombra viewed a memory of Fluttershy reforming Discord.         "So, that little pushover actually managed to reform the master of chaos, eh?" Sombra laughed.         "Hey! Stay out of my memories!" Twilight warned him.       "Oh speaking of which, where is Discord anyway?" Sombra asked.       "None of your damn business." Twilight said with hatred. As if on cue, Discord popped into view.        "Hello, Twilight!" He laughed. Then, he noticed something different.        "Why do I sense darkness in you Twilight, that isn't like you at all." Discord said. "Hmm, oh! I got it! You've got a piece of King Sombra in you." Discord noticed. Sombra gasped at that.      "How did he know that!" Sombra asked himself. Sombra needed a way to corrupt Twilight without her friends noticing.       Sombra paced in the home he had made in Twilight's head.          "How can that draconeqqus know about me being in this foolish pony's head!" Sombra asked himself.         As long as the other ponies didn't find out, Sombra was safe. But for how long? He wondered. His time was close now, on the day of the full moon he would rise again, leaving the body of a weak and helpless Twilight. He had a calendar on when the full moon would appear.         "OK, the full moon will appear exactly 2 weeks from now, just enough time to corrupt Twilight from within." He laughed. His laugh then turned into an evil, maniacal laugh.       "King Sombra will rise again." Sombra promised himself. "Oh yes." //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Twilight's corruption part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Twilight's corruption part 1       With each passing day, Sombra grew stronger, and with him growing stronger, Twilight felt herself getting weaker. In fact, one day she was so weak she passed out for 2 days. Her friends were worried.        "Twilight's been weak before, but nothing like this." Rarity said. Fluttershy watched Twilight for the 2 days she was out cold. In her head, Sombra chuckled quietly to himself.        "What they don't know is that it's me feeding off Twilight's strength." He chuckled. Then, Rainbow Dash felt like she remembered something, back when they were just leaving the Crystal Empire. Sombra could see them.        "Hey guys, remember when we defeated that creepy unicorn king who took over the empire a while back?" Rainbow asked. The others nodded.        "Well, when we were leaving, I kind of saw something out of the corner of my eye." Rainbow said. Sombra was getting nervous, if Rainbow had figured it out, it was all over for him.        "I think, I"m not sure, but I think that thing I saw was a tiny piece of him entering Twi's brain." Rainbow said. Sombra's jaw dropped in surprise.        "Crap!" Sombra yelled. He had to think of something. Then he realized he controlled every bit of Twilight, so he used his magic to do just that. The girls saw Twilight wake up, but with Sombra's eyes.      "Uh, Twi? You OK?" Applejack asked.        "Twilight may hear you, but she can't help you." Sombra said. The girls gasped. Rarity fainted.        "Sombra, get out of our friend!" Rainbow yelled. Sombra chuckled.       "Sorry girls, but I need somepony to be my host while I rise to my full strength." Sombra said. Sombra cast a special gas that caused the girls to sleep as he made his escape to the everfree forest. Twilight got control back and gasped.      "What the? How did I get here?" She asked.      "Me!" Sombra laughed.       "Why?" Twilight asked.      "To begin your dark training. I am going to train you in the ways of the dark arts. Spells that Celestia could not even teach you." Sombra said.       "Why should I join you!" Twilight yelled.      "BECAUSE IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR 'FRIENDS' AGAIN, YOU WILL HELP ME RISE TO POWER!" Sombra yelled. Twilight flinched a bit at his tone.       "The first spell I will teach you in the dark arts, is the spell Avada Kedavera." Sombra told Twilight. Something told her she couldn't resist, or her friends would be killed on the spot. She had no choice, she had to.        "I... I give myself to your... teachings." Twilight said, sighing.        "Excellent." Sombra laughed. "Let the training BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!" His voice boomed through the forest. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Twilight's corruption part 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Twilight's corruption part 2      "Now, to begin with the spell, say the following: AVADA KEDAVERA!" Sombra instructed.        "I really don't see the point in this." Twilight muttered.        "YOU WILL DO WHAT I SAY OR YOUR FRIENDS WILL BECOME NOTHING BUT LIFELESS SKELETONS!" Sombra screamed.        "OK OK! Sheesh!" Twilight rolled her eyes. She aimed her horn at a tree to practice. These lessons are gonna end up corrupting me like Princess Luna. She thought. "AVADA KEDAVERA!" Twilight yelled, blasting the tree. It became nothing but a stump after.       "Very good! Very good!" Sombra laughed. "Not bad for your first time, though." He cleared his throat. At Canterlot, the girls raced in to tell Celestia what they had witnessed.       "What!" Shining Armor was amazed a piece of Sombra had survived.       "Princess, if that creep has taken over my sister, I have to be there for her." Shining Armor said. Celestia nodded.         "Understood. Good luck." She said. The girls and Shining Armor raced to Everfree, looking for Twilight. A few minutes later, they did.       "Damn it!" Sombra cursed.       "Sombra." Shining Armor growled.          "Hello, Armor." Sombra talked through Twilight to say this, it was a mix of Twilight's voice and Sombra's. "You're too late, your sister's corruption has already begun, and we both know the elements can't function without the sixth." Sombra smiled. Rarity gasped.         "You heartless monster!" She yelled, stomping her hoof.           "Bold words for the drama queen." Sombra retorted. Rarity stammered and growled.         "You really don't want me angry!" She yelled. Applejack held her back.         "Easy Rar, he's just getting into your head." She told her. Then, there was trouble. The full moon appeared in the sky. Sombra grinned.           "Behold, the return of the true king of darkness, KING SOMBRA!" He laughed as his shadow form left Twilight, manifesting into his pony self. He laughed as he felt being in his own body again. "And now, something that'll make sure you won't get in the way!" Sombra charged up his horn. As he was about to say the incantation, an orange pegasus with a blue two tone mane and tail hit his side causing him to lose focus.        "Flash!" Shining Armor said.        "Just doing my job, sir!" Flash smiled. Sombra shook his head.        "You'll pay for that, boy!" He growled.        "Try me!" Flash told the dark king. Sombra growled.           "YOU THINK YOU CAN BEAT THE DARK KING! THINK AGAIN BOY!" Sombra yelled. Sombra charged his horn again, blasting Flash with a shock of lightning. Flash dodged and flew up, punching Sombra's eye. "Damn it!" He roared as his eye seared with pain.         "I can't be beat, Sombra." Flash laughed.         "We'll see." Sombra hissed. Then, Twilight stood up, but something wasn't right. She was dark purple, Sombra's horn, and Sombra's eyes.         "Yes!" Sombra laughed.           "Twily!" Shining Armor gasped. Sombra escaped with Twilight, laughing. "SOMBRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Shining Armor yelled, who had just lost her sister to the dark side. //-------------------------------------------------------// Recap of King Sombra's "defeat" //-------------------------------------------------------// Recap of King Sombra's "defeat" Remember when Spike saved the Crystal Empire with the Crystal heart and Sombra was defeated? Well, he wasn't completely defeated. A piece of him has implanted itself in Twilight's mind, and he is using her to rise once again. Fortunately for the dark king, Twilight's friends have no idea what is happening, but there has been some close calls where Sombra was almost found out. Shining Armor has no idea either, but he, Cadence, and Flash Sentry are concerned about Twilight's well being. The more Sombra grows stronger, the weaker Twilight gets. Sombra is controlling Twilight from within, causing her to do things she wouldn't even dream of! When Flash finds out, Sombra leaves her mind and reforms to his solid form. The 2 face off, unaware that Twilight's corruption has already finished. When Sombra realizes this, he takes the opportunity to distract Flash and escape with Twilight. The Dark King succeeds in corrupting Twilight, and the others are shocked, shock that the sixth element of harmony has been corrupted by darkness. Shining Armor feels sorrow for Twilight and the girls, for not only had they lost a friend to the dark side, they had also lost an important key to the elements, and a sister. Twilight goes through training in the dark arts and Sombra is back in power once more, but Flash Sentry won't give up that easily. He discovers his true powers and ultimately defeats Sombra, making sure no trace of him is left behind so he can't posess anypony ever again. Now, let us begin our story, starting in Twilight's castle, in her nightmares.........
