My name is Chris. I don't see how it's important, but whatever. I’m currently sixteen and a junior in high-school. I was recently sucked into a magical land full of ponies known as Equestria. It was a rainy, crappy, Saturday morning, at like, 8:30AM. My dog was sleeping on my bed, and I was on my laptop reading some facebook bullshit about how some chick's boyfriend didn't see her from only 500 feet away. It’s all quiet, as my dad’s at work, and my mom is a late riser. So I figure I have a few hours to myself, nice and quiet. Christ was I wrong about that… I didn't realize how wrong I would turn out being. I had gotten up to go to the kitchen and get some food, when I hear a loud *POP* come from outside. I thought ‘Fuck, do I really have to go and see what’s going on? It almost sounded like a lightning shot, or a sonic boom.’ I go outside, and check it out. I look in the sky, and what do you think I see? That’s right. You guessed it. It was a whole lot of nothing. Just the drizzle coming down, and the clouds high above. I think to myself that it’s just sleep deprivation, as I hadn’t been sleeping well the last few nights, and it’s making me hear things. But this sounded so real. After I ate my hearty, champion-worthy breakfast of a roll of Oreos, I returned to my room. I saw my dog in my parents’ room, fast asleep. I figure maybe I just heard him jumping off my bed and hitting my desk. (He can take it, the dog’s a fuckin’ tank.) Turns out, I was wrong for the second time that morning. It wouldn't be the first time, but that's an unrelated topic. After I returned to my room, I see a charred mark on the floor, and I think about what could have caused it. ‘Could a lightbulb have exploded? No, that would be closer to the wall. What the hell?’ I thought. But then, I look into the corner, and see a purple/lavender mass rummaging my bookshelf. I silently tiptoe to my airsoft cabinet, which I keep loaded for when I have games with my friends. (Airsoft isn’t the most effective, but against an unknown object, who knows?) I sneak out, with a full magazine, and load it. I pull the slide back, and aim. But suddenly, it mass turns around, and who do we know that is lavender? Yep, it’s Twilight Sparkle, in my room, reading my books. She doesn’t notice, so I put the gun away. I tentatively say, “Hello?” “Oh, hello. Are you the human who lives here?” She says, looking up to see me. “Yes, I am. I see you are enjoying my book?” I reply. “Yes! This ‘Harry Potter’ you read is very interesting!” She says to me, eyes beaming at the book "Oh I'm sorry, I never introduced myself. I'm Twilight Sparkle, student of Princess Celestia. And you?" “I'm Chris. Well, Christopher, but everyone calls me Chris. And as for Harry, I never really got into 'em myself." “Well why not? They’re a lot like the ‘Daring Do’ books we have in Ponyville.” “Hm. So if you don’t mind me asking, Why are you on Earth?” “Ah yes!” she replies “I’m here because I need help. Can you help me?” “I guess so. What do you need?” I ask, not sure how this will end. “I need your help, because one of my friends, Fluttershy, is becoming more and more depressed over time. I have been studying your world, and you seemed the kindest to help her.” I stand there, dumbfounded. Me and my friends knew I was NOT the nicest person. Was Twilight Sparkle really asking me to come to Equestria to help Fluttershy feel better? “Okay, let’s go. Let me just grab some supplies, and we can go.” I go downstairs, and grab some basic supplies I'll need there. My Swiss army knife; my favorite school hoodie; a few cans of coke, (I can deal with it warm), and some money. I don't know the exchange rate, but I hope it's similar. I keep my airsoft pistol in my back pocket, with a few spare magazines handy, just in case. A few minutes later, I come back to my room, and see Twilight reading away at 'The Sorcerer's Stone'. "What part are you up to?" I ask, "He just got to the zoo, and used magic to open the snake pit" Twilight replies, looking very please with Rowling's work. "Well, you can bring and keep the books, if you'd like." I tell her. It's not like I would ever read them. "Really? Oh thankyou thankyou thankyou!" She exclaims, bouncing up and down. "Sorry." "Nah, it's okay, I was pretty ecstatic when I found out I could keep the manga for my video games." I explain "Mann-guh? What's Mann-guh?" "Manga," I begin to explain, "is a Japanese; That's a country on Earth; reading style based on a TV show or a video game." "Ohh, so it's like a book version of them?" She asks, interested in a new book "Yes, exacty." "Can you bring some of that, too?" She asks, looking happy "I don't see why not." I tell her. Her face lit up, and I grabbed a small bag from the closet, and packing some manga, like Dragon Ball, Zelda, and Death Note. As we get ready to go, I remember about the time. "Ah crap," I say "I gotta tell my mom somehow." "Oh don't worry, you don't have to bother with that. I took care of her, she'll know exactly where you are and the reason." "Alright then, off we go to Equestria," I say, with mixed feelings about the whole thing. END OF CHAPTER ONE Chapter Two: Arrival"Are you ready to go?" Twilight asks, her horn glowing a shade of lavender as she readies her magic to take us to Equestria, "Yeah, I think I have everything I need," I reply "and even if I did forget something, 's not like it would matter. I don't think we'll be coming back for a while." "Even still, I would double check. Just to be sure." She says "Mkay." 'Money, airsoft gun, Swiss army knife, hoodie, coke...' "Ah crap," I say, coming to a realiazation "What?" "What am I going to do for food? It's not likely you have a Path Mark around, right?" I say to her, not sure if I should pack anything "Oh, don't worry about that," she assures, "we have places like Sugarcube Corner, where my friend Pinkie Pie works, and a few restaurants." "Thank God for that," I say, relieved that I won't need to deal with the food issue, "But wait, won't everyone find a random human walking around in Ponyville a bit odd?" "You don't have to worry about that, you'll be turned into a pony when you're in Equestria." She tells me "I don't find that very... Assuring..." I say, a but of worry in my voice, "I mean, for starters, won't having my whole DNA rewritten hurt? And what will the mark on my flank be? I don't think an Xbox controller is going to be very possible. And I don't think that I'll just get one." "Well," She says "What are you best at?" "Oh man, I have no idea... I'm pretty good at airsoft." "What's that?" "It's a type of fake combat. We get these guns," I take out my pistol, "And we load them with little pellets. Then we run around and shoot at eachother." She gets a look of confusion on her face, "Does it hurt when you get hit?" She asks "Depends. If you wear good enough clothing and a mask, you're set to go, but if you're wearing a T-Shirt and some light shorts, it's gonna sting like hell." "That doesn't sound like it'd be a good Cutie Mark." She tells me "On the topic of that, we should get going," I tell her, packing the last of my stuff away "Fluttershy's not getting any better while we sit here and talk all day." "Right, I almost forgot. Are you ready?" "Yes ma'am. Let's go." "Okay, hold on," she says, "It may be a bit bumpy." A lesson for first time teleporters with Twilight: Do not under any circumstances close your eyes. The feeling of moving at the speed of light is bad enough, but with nothing to see it with, you will lose your balance and almost fall off. The fact that you're turning into a pony doesn't help. As we landed, I noticed we were in the Library, or as it's more commonly known, Twilight's House. I looked at myself in a mirror, to see what my cutie mark was, and I was a bit surprised. I turned out to be a red Pegasus, with a dark brown, almost black mane, (I expected this, due to my hair color), and my cutie mark was a band logo. I'm not sure why, personally, but who knows? I think to myself 'That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was expecting severe pain in every cell of my body... Ah well, it's better to not think about this.' "Well, here we are, Equestria," Twilight tells me, taking off her saddlebag and putting it away. "Pegasus, huh? With... What is that cutie mark?" "It's a logo for a band in my world," I said, not sure why I have their logo as a Cutie Mark. "Anyway," She said, "I'll have Spike make a room for you. Spike!" She calls, "C'mere! There's someone I want you to meet!" "Yeah yeah, I'm coming, hold on." I hear from upstairs. After a few seconds, a baby dragon walks downstairs, and says "Hi, I'm Spike! I'm Twilight's assistant!" "I'm Chris. It's nice to meet you," I say in reply "Spike," Twilight says, "I need you to set up a room for Chris, he'll be staying for a little while." "Okay, I'll have it done soon enough." "Thanks, Spike." Twilight says, "Well, I guess we'd better introduce you to the others, then." "Yeah, that seems like a good idea. And later we can talk to Fluttershy?" "Yep," she says "Time is the same here, so it's still pretty early. Most ponies are still asleep, so make yourself at home." "Okay, where should I put my stuff?" I ask, "Just put it by my saddlebag." She replies "Will do." I put my stuff down, and Twilight says to me "Since you're a pegasus, you should probably practice a little flying. You should fly around inside. I wouldn't know how to work wings, but I would assume you just use them like any part of your body." "Okay, I'll try to be careful," I say After a few minutes of me crashing, and getting up, I finally get the hang of it. I'm not perfect, but I can hover and fly around at some decent speeds. At least enough to sustain an average life in Ponyville. It also tired me out, so I asked Spke where my room was, and I told Twilight I was gonna take a quick nap. She said that whenever I'm ready, we can go and meet the others. As I sat down on the bed, courtesy of Spike, I think to myself 'What could be making Fluttershy so depressed? And what will Twilight's friends think of me? Twilight herself seems nice enough, but I wonder about the rest of the ponies. Ah well, I'll think about that later...' as I drift off, I think of home, not sure if I want to leave... END OF CHAPTER TWO Chapter Three: IntroductionsAccording to Twilight, I had slept for 3 hours. That meant it was 11 O'Clock, and we had an hour before the others got here. The others, at least, aside from Fluttershy. I was aware that I would need to do my job and help her feel better, though. After stretching my legs and wings, I went downstairs. Twilight was reading and studying, like usual. Spike was nowhere in sight. "Hey," I said, feeling much more awake than before, "The others get here at twelve, right?" "Morning, sleepyhead," she said, chuckling. I hadn't noticed that my hai- mane was very unkempt. I had hair sticking up in several places "Spike stepped out to get Princess Celestia. She's been wanting to meet you." "Has she? I assume then," I said "That you've told her of your plans?" "Yep, she knows that you're here because we all know you're the most likely to make Fluttershy feel better." "Okay. Any idea when she'll get here?" I asked, "I'd like to look less dissheveled." "She should be here in about an hour." she said, "Spike decided to take the train over. She should be here when the others get here." "Alright. Do you have a mirror? I'd like to fix my h-... Mane." "Allow me," she said, her horn emnating a violet glow. I saw the same color glow around my head. My mane got lowered down to its normal state. "There. Now you don't look so bad. If my friend Rarity caught you like that she'd have thrown a riot." "And why would she do that?" I asked, confused "Rarity is a bit of... A fashionista, for lack of a better word. In the meantime, I have some studying to do. I'm working on a spell to make it easier for somepony to manipulate the clouds." "Wait wait wait..." I stopped her, "Did you say... Manipulate the clouds?" "Oh right," she says "Pegasi can control the clouds and weather. I'll have to have my friend Rainbow Dash teach you sometime." "Ah. Sounds... Fun." "Oh, Celestia, I'm sorry." She suddenly says, "Do you want something to eat? The kitchen is right over there. Help yourself." "Oh, no, but thank you." I said. And almost immediately after I said it, my stomach growled louder than the pop I heard back in my own kitchen. Silence for a few seconds. "... Oh shut up..." "Kitchen's on your right," she said, laughing slightly "Thanks." ~---ONE HOUR LATER---~ About an hour later, I was in my room, listening to my ipod. It was a pain in the ass to get to work, with the password and all that, but I finally did. 'Sitting in a corner all alone, staring from the bottom of his soul...' Now I understand why my Cutie Mark is what it is. "Twilight, Chris, I'm back!" I heard Spike call from downstairs. "Oh, good. C'mon Chris, let's go down. It's not polite to keep Princess Celestia waiting," Twilight said, just outside the door. "Okay, coming," I said, muting the ipod. I had no idea that music would be so annoying to get sometimes. As we got downstairs, I could almost feel the sun radiating off of Celestia. When I saw her the first time, I instinctively bowed, half of my own will, half subconciously. Twilight did the same. "Hello, my faithful student," Celestia said, in an almost motherly voice, "You must be Chris," she said, now looking at me, "Welcome to Equestria. I am Princess Celestia, Goddess of the Sun." "It's an honor to meet you, Princess." "I should say the same. You're the first human to be in Equestria," she said "Twilight said while she was studying your world that she found your race intriguing and most inventive." "Intriguing and inventive aren't the words I'd have chosen, personally." I said. "Oh? And why might that be," The glorious alicorn said in confusion, "Well," I started, "We have many issues. We have war, famine, disease, poverty, crime, and the threat of a nuclear attack on my country is somewhat high at this moment." "New... Clear?" She asked, looking at her student, Twilight shook her head. "What is... New-Clear?" "Nuclear technology is a very destructive force created about seventy years ago on my world. With its use, we can destroy whole cities in a matter of minutes. And the city-wide destruction is weak by today's standards. Now, if we were to use it, we could theoretically wipe out the population of my world." "Oh my..." Both student and teacher said in unison. Celestia replied, "That sounds... quite awful." "You've got no idea..." After a short while of explaining the basics of our worlds to eachother, Celestia told me that to blend in better, she'd use her pseudonym 'Sunny Skies', because only the other six that I knew were aware of that. As she stepped upstairs to store her crown and accoutrements, the others arrived. "Oh hello girls, we've been expecting you," Twilight said, going to the door to meet her compatriots. "Come on in." One of them, a cyan mare with a rainbow mane, looked me over and whispered somehting to Twilight. I could barely hear her, but I could make out something. "Who's this?" she asked Twilight, looking at me with her violet eyes. Twilight whispered something back but I couldn't hear it. The pink one, whose darker pink hair was very unkempt, with three baloons on her flank let out a sudden gasp, which was loud and very long at the sight of me. I was a bit startled, as I was focused on Twilight's conversation out of the corner of my eye. "Don't worry about Pinkie," Twilight told me, revealing her name, "She always does this with new ponies." "Yep! And I have to throw a HUUUUGE party for two reasons now!" She screamed, "One for a new pony, and one for Fluttershy when she gets better!" "Um... Excuse me?" I asked, still a bit confused, "I'm getting... a party..." "Yep! And it'll be superly duperly amazingly awesome!" Pinkie yelled, jumping 3 feet into the air. "Easy there, sugarcube," Another one said, she was an orange mare with a sandy blonde mane. Her flank had the image of three apples. "We don't want t' scare 'im off now do we? Anyway, nice t' meetcha, Ah'm Applejack. Ah work at Sweet Apple Acres, the only Apple farm in Ponyville." She said, extending a hoof to shake. "It's a pleasure, Applejack." I was tentative on hoofshaking with her. I'd never done it before. "Somethin' the matter?" "Yeah," I said "I've never actually hoofshaked before..." "Oh yeah, Twi said somethin' about that..." "So I assume twilight told you I'm a human then?" "Yep. Do you shake hands differently?" "Well, on my earth we have appendages called fingers that we lock together for a handshake. And well, I just don't get how it'll happen as a pony." "Oh well in that case... Hold on to your britches..." "What?" I whispered to Twilight "Song." she said back "Again, what?" "When ya see somepony and ya wanna meet em Ya gotta go up an properly greet em That's when you need... A hoofshake Hoof shake hoof shake it's the way to go Hoof shake hoof shake don't be slow Ya put 'em up close and wrap 'em together Ya pull 'em in tight just like a tether Hoof shake hoof shake it's the way to go Hoof shake hoof shake don't... Be... Slow..." A/N: This. Sucks. Balls. I know. I hated writing it. I just felt AJ needed a song for once. inb4 rage in the comments. Back to the story! "Well that jus' about explains it." Applejack said, sticking her hoof out for a hoofshake. Now getting it, (Kind of) I reached out and accepted. "Well that was... Interesting..." I said, confused. "On that note, you must be Pinkie Pie?" "Yep! I live and work at Sugarcube Corner!" She suddenly gasped longer than possible, given the probable lung capacity of a pony, while hovering two feet in the air. "OhmygoshIforgot!" "Uh... Are you okay? What did you forget?" I ask, more confused than ever. As I said that, she bolted out the door. "What... Just..." "Oh, she does that to everypony when they first come to Ponyville. I'd bet that she's likely gathering party supplies right now for the welcome party she's going to throw you. I'm Rarity. I work at Carousel Boutique. It's a pleasure to meet you. I must say, your mane is absolutely dashing." Rarity was a white unicorn with a purple mane. Her Cutie Mark was three diamonds. "Thank you very much. Nice to meet you too. I'm Chris." "I'm Rainbow Dash." the pegasus who was talking to Twilight earlier said, "Fastest flier in all of Equestria. I'd love to see how you fly." As was mentioned earlier, she was a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane, violet eyes, and the mark of a cloud shooting out a tri-colored lightning bolt. "Oh God. I can't even fly past what, 20 mph? And from what I understand based on what Twilight's told me, you can break the sonic barrier." "Yeah, it's sweet. I call it the Sonic Rainboom. I'll have to show you sometime," she said, he face puffing up with pride "Alright, as soon as Fluttershy's feeling up and around, I'd love to see it." "Great!" she said, suddenly getting a lot happier. As we were exchanging simple greetings, we heard Cel- Sunny Skies coming down stairs. She wore no regalia, and she was a plain pegasus like myself with a purple-pink mane. She had the image of a clouded sun on her flank. I could tell that she would not want me to bow, so I resisted the urge to do it. I noted the others doing that as well. "Hello Sunny," Rainbow said "Hello everypony. I assume that you've all met our friend Chris here. He's the one Twilight and I have chosen to help Fluttershy in her time of need." "Yes we have, Pr- Sunny." Rarity spoke up first, "And I must say he seems friendly enough to get through Fluttershy's quiet little shell." "Yes well," I said, "I'll still need to be shown around town, and I guess have one of Pinkie's parties she's throwing for me." "That pony does love t' party..." Applejack said, shaking her head "Well, everypony, we've got some time to spare, right? We can show him around Ponyville today!" "Actually Twi', Ah've got to hold down the farm. Big Mac's sick, and Applebloom can't do it on her own." Applejack said "And I've got a very important client coming in tomorrow, so I simply must work on their design!" Rarity said "Well I guess that leaves just me and Rainbow Dash, so what do you say, care to see the town with Dash, Sunny, and I?" Twilight asked me, looking at Rainbow Dash "Sounds like a great idea," I said "When can we go?" "Right now, if you want. There's a lot to show you. And afterwards we still have to get to Sugarcube Corner by 8 O'Clock, for Pinkie's welcoming party." "Well then. Let's go!" A/N: That song was a BITCH to come up with. I hate rhymes, and I'm no good at lyrical writing. You can go right ahead and hate it all you want. I hate it personally. I just thought AJ needed a song for once. Also, I'm changing the title in about a week or so, to give you a heads up. For the record, I had many ideas on how the introduction scene could go. I had chosen Full Moon (No relation to the Twilight series) by Sonata Arctica because that is one of my favorite songs of all time. The band is among my favorites, as seen by the cutie mark. Chapter 4.1: Sugarcube Corner's CupcakesAUTHOR'S PRE-NOTE: I will refer to Rainbow Dash as simply "Dash", and Sunny as Celestia unless she is being spoken to throughout the rest of the story. "We should probably go now, since we only have a few hours to see the rest of the town," Twilight said, putting on her saddlebags and preparing to step outside This would be the first time that I've actually seen Ponyville for itself from the outside. Being a Pegasus, I could just fly around with Dash, but Twilight insisted that I go with her, because I could get lost. I don't see the point in that, because her house is a giant tree, but hey, what can you do? "Well let's go then!" Dash said, beginning to get impatient, "I'm still waiting to see how he flies." "Hey, Dash. I told you," I said to her "I've only flown inside the library, so I can't tell you how I'll fly." "Yeah, yeah," she said, rolling her eyes, "You ready yet Twi?" "Yes, coming." Twilight surrendered, leaving some things out of her bags, "Are you ready Sunny?" "Of course," Sunny said, "All I brought was my regalia, and that's stored safely upstairs in your desk. I hope you don't mind..." "Oh of course not! Now let's go!" Since time flows the same in Equestria as it did on earth, it was the middle of winter. Though it has been rainy on earth, Equestria was snowy. I hadn't noticed it before, though I hadn't looked out the windows. As Twilight opened the door with her magic, a wave of cold hit me. "Jeez it's like getting punched in the face by cold," I said. I was glad that pegasi had a natural resistance to temperature. "Heh Heh... You get used to it," Dash said, "Just start flapping your wings fast enough and you'll be fine." "Yeah, but s-still," I said, beginning to shiver, "If you haven't noticed, I'm not used to being in the snow. I live in an area where we don't get much." “Well then careful,” Twilight said, “You might catch a cold or something.” “Pfff,” I scoffed, “I’ve had strep throat, and a double ear infection at the same time. Believe me, sickness has nothing on me.” (Quick A/N: I really did. It sucked huge balls.) “That must’ve sucked,” Dash said, “Were you okay after?” “It did. Badly. And if I wasn’t okay, would I be here now?” “Point taken.” As we walked around town, Twilight started humming something. "So, what is that you're humming, Twilight?" I asked "Oh, nothing... Just a song from last year," She replied, looking back to the road. "So I think we should visit Pinkie first. Just to make sure she's not going overboard like she did with my party." "Yeah I remember that," Dash said, chuckling, "You went up after about an hour, but even then we were all partying for another four." “So you had a party,” I said, “In Twilight’s house; while she was trying to sleep; in the early AM; without her.” “Yep.” “Well okay then.” As we walked along the snowy, yet sunny road, we eventually saw Sugarcube Corner. It was a large, gingerbread-looking building, with what appeared to be a cupcake on top of it. The whole building looked edible. “Here we are,” Twilight told us, “Sugarcube corner.” When we walked in, a bell above the door told one of the two proprietors we walked inside. The one behind the counter was a blue earth pony with a pink mane. The other was nowhere to be seen. “Oh, hello Twilight and Rainbow Dash,” The mare said, “Who are your friends?” “Hello Mrs. Cake,” Twilight said, “This,” She motioned towards Celestia, “Is Sunny Skies, and this” she motioned to me, “Is Chris. He’s here to help with Fluttershy’s problem.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Celestia said, “We were in the neighborhood,” (GET IT? HAHAHAHA) “and we decided to stop by to see Pinkie.” “Well I’m afraid I can’t help you there.” Mrs. Cake said, “Pinkie hasn’t gotten back yet. It’s her day off, yes, but I bet she’s out getting supplies for a party later.” “That’s actually exactly what she’s doing,” I said, “A ‘Welcome’ party for me.” “Oh, you’re new in Ponyville? Let me be the first to welcome you with a cupcake on the house.” She handed (hooved?) me a blue cupcake. It had rainbow sprinkles. My eye twitched involuntarily; I had read ‘Cupcakes’ once, and trust me I remembered it. Dash however, was still right next to me and very well alive, so I took it. “Thanks a lot, Mrs. Cake,” I said, taking a bite. It was blue-raspberry icing, on a chocolate cupcake. It was, oddly enough, really good. “Not a problem, dearie.” “Well we should get going then,” Twilight said, “We have a lot of ground to cover before Pinkie’s ‘surprise’ party tonight.” “Pinkie’s life is a party, Twi.” Dash said. My eyes widened, and twitched again. “Hey are you alright? That’s the second time your eyes twitched.” Dash asked me. “Huh? Oh I'm fine yeah. Nothing to worry about, heh heh...” I answered quickly, “Long story; you probably do not want to know...” “Oh... Kay?. We should probably head to Rarity’s next. She’s closest.” “Okay, sounds like a plan.” Twilight leaned closer to me, "What's up," I asked "Tell me when we get back to the library. Something involves Dash, I know it." Celestia, being right there, overheard and only raised an eyebrow. A/N: Sorry for the short chapter, guys. I plan on introducing the locations of the Mane Six one per chapter. It’s a bit annoying to see this is shorter than Chapter Two, but hey, whatever. Also; I don’t know what race (Pegasus/Unicorn/Earth) Mrs. Cake is, so I left her as a mare. I barely know of her; she’s a background pony. But yes, chapter 4.2 will be out soon, I promise. And on the Cupcakes topic; I needed a way to sneak it in. The main character is not a brony, but he's read it. Also, for all you guys and girls know, I might throw in a hint of Sweet Apple Massacre when I get to Sweet Apple Acres. >:D Chapter 4.2: Riverside Revelations/Carousel BoutiqueA/N: The dialogue between Chris and Dash adds a bit of a side story. This was intended to add a few chapters. Dash may go slightly out of character, but the events that transpire would do that to anyone. Plus, there’s a bit of a story there. Don’t rage in the comments. As we walked south through Ponyville, I had began to wonder if they had believed me that I had something in my eye. Needless to say, they didn’t. “So what was with you earlier, Chris?” Dash asked “Are you afraid of cupcakes or something?” I sighed “God damn it,” I swore under my breath. “Okay, I’ll tell you the whole truth, but leave out the excruciating details.” “Okay, go for it.” Dash said, the three of them now listening intently “Lemme start with a question…” I said, “Humans are to Equestria as Unicorns, Pegasi, and Alicorns are to my earth, right? We’re believed to be myths to each other?” I asked “That’s right,” Twilight said, “What does this have to do with anything?” “Well, there are stories about the Equestrian races…” “What kind?” Dash asked. “Let me finish. Some are nice, heart-warming, and so on, like one called My Little Dashie.” I said “Did you say My Li-“ Dash started, “Yes. Hold on a second. I’m getting to the point. I’ll answer your questions in a sec. Some are bad, like- Hm. Wait a sec. I want to remind you. This is a story, not an actual event. I can personally assure you that it will not. Some are bad, like the one called Cupcakes…” “Cupcakes? Is that the reason you freaked out earlier?” Twilight asked “That’s exactly why. Cupcakes, remember, it’s a story, not real, etcetera, is about you and Pinkie, Dash.” “Wh- What about us…” she asked. I could see a bit of anxiety in her. I took a breath and held it. I exhaled it. “Don’t flip your shit, sorry for the language, Sunny, force of habit. But… Ugh this is going to suck. I’m going to just say it. Dash, Pinkie cuts you up and shit like that, and she makes you into cupcakes.” They all stared at me, wide-eyed. Dash looked on the verge of tears. I saw one just barely slip out. “Dash, listen. If I had known it would make you this upset-” She flew off. “Dammit. Twilight, you two go ahead. I’m going to try and calm her down.” “O-Okay.” She said, “Come on Sunny, we should go…” As I flew off, I could feel the two of them watching me. I felt terrible for it, but she had asked. Dash had flown of towards the Whitetail Wood, where the Running of the Leaves had taken place. It was cold and wet. She found a small creek; it was just big enough to see a reflection in it. Tears were dripping into it, shattering the reflection. “P-Pinkie would never do that, right? No way…” She sniffed, “She’s too happy… Like always.” She was on the verge of bawling her eyes out. Her athlete’s pride, however, didn’t let that happen. I found her about 10 minutes after she left. I looked into the creek with her; she saw my reflection with hers. “Yeah,” she called. I could hear the shakiness in her voice. She was too proud to let herself be seen crying. “What’s up, you need something?” “Yeah I do. I need you to snap out of it. I need to talk to you, and I’m not one for sentiments.” “O-Okay.” “Dash, can I just explain a few things?” “I guess.” “Like I said, that was a story,” I said, sitting next to her. I put a hoof around her to comfort her. “She would never do that to anyone, especially not to you; from what I can see, you’re the best of friends.” “You’re half right. I’m sorry I flew off like that…” “Hey, I’d have done the same if that had happened, well, not happened happened, but had been told about me. What’d you mean by ‘Half Right?” “Well, you were right on the fact that we’re the best of friends, but wrong on the fact that… I’m sorry; I can’t. We should go.” “Dash, we’ll get nowhere if you can’t tell me what’s up. You're hiding something You can trust me. I’m the best I know at secrets.” “-Sniff- Do you pinkie promise?” “Heh," Twilight had taught me this back at the library, so I enacted it. "Cross my heart and hope to fly; stick a cupcake in my eye. So what’s the issue?” She inhaled and let it out slowly. She was about to admit something; I could tell. I had done it myself a few times. “I want to be more with Pinkie, not just best friends… You won’t make fun of me, will you? You know,” she began to blush a bit “for being a filly-fooler?” She asked with desperation in her eyes. “No way, Dash. There's no way I'd make fun of you.” “Reason I ask is because there were a few guys in Flight School who'd make fun of me for it. It wouldn't be as bad if it weren't true…” “Well if you see them, let me know. I'll handle it for you. But on the main topic, with the story, I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I had no idea it’d affect you like that.” “It’s okay, but me and Pinkie…” She started, “I just don’t want anything like that to happen to her.” “I understand perfectly. Your friends, especially Pinkie, mean a lot to you. You seem like a loyal one, let’s get back. I’m sure we can settle this later. Twi and Sunny are heading to Rarity’s now.” “Okay, let’s go…” We found them as they were crossing the bridge. We landed right by them, and I had given the same explanation. Twilight and Celestia were noticeably less shaken than Dash was. After our fun little adventure in and out of Ponyville, we headed to Rarity’s house; or as it is more commonly known, The Carousel Boutique. Ironically enough, it was a building that resembled, well, a carousel. As we walked in, shaking off our hooves, a bell rang; much like Sugarcube Corner. Rarity turned around from her sewing machine to see us. “Oh hello you four; what brings you to my little establishment?” She asked us. I could see bobby pins sticking out of her mane, which was bobbed up while she sewed. She had needles floating in the air with her aquamarine magic. “We were in the neighborhood, and I thought we’d stop by and see everypony.” Twilight responded, cheerfully “Well wasn’t that kind of you. Chris, come over here will you? I need some measurements.” “You need measurements? What do you need my measurements for?” I asked “For a ‘Welcome to Equestria’ gift, of course.” Rarity answered, “Just one question, though. What are your two favorite colors?” “Well you certainly put me on the spot,” I said, smirking, “I’d have to say Sage and Maroon. I assume this is for the ‘gift’ you have in store for me?” “Yes it is. Now hold still; this’ll only take a moment.” As she said that, I stepped closer, to be met by a worn, fabric measuring roll surrounded by aquamarine wrapping around my neck, to get the circumference of it. “Yes, okay. About eleven inches,” she said, noting that down on her clipboard, “Thanks very much, darling.” “Not a problem at all, Rarity.” “So Rarity, if I may, what exactly are you working on now?” Celestia asked, “It looks like… a very formal business suit. It looks marvelous.” “Oh thank you Sunny! This is my one of a kind piece. I’ve been specifically asked for by name to make this suit by none other than Fancypants himself!” “Is Fancypants a business partner?” I asked, looking the suit over. It was a black tuxedo base with a red undershirt and white bowtie. It looked amazing, to say the least. “Sort of. He’s one of the richest benefactors in Canterlot. I’m sure Sunny can tell you that much.” She gestured to Celestia, “This is one of the few pieces he asks me personally to work on.” “Is he that important?” Twilight asked, “I never had the chance to personally meet him.” “Oh absolutely, Twilight dear, he’s giving me the biggest chance of a lifetime. If I strike it with him, my reputation in Canterlot will skyrocket!” “Well we should probably leave it to you then, we still have to see Applejack, and it’s already Three-Thirty. The party is in about an hour or so.” Twilight said, “We’ll see you there?” “Of course! I wouldn’t miss it for the world!” she said. She looked at me. “I’ll have your welcome gift ready by then. Sage and maroon, you said?” “Yep. See you later, Rarity!” “Seeya Rares,” Dash said. I could see her earlier trying to calm down. She looked much better now. “Goodbye, Rarity,” Celestia said. As we walked out, we prepared to head west to Sweet Apple Acres. Dash strayed back a bit, and she asked me to talk. “You two go ahead, we’ll be there in a sec.” I said, “What’s up, Dash?” “Um…” She hesitated, “Thanks. For before. I’ve been wanting to get that off my flank for a while…” “I understand entirely. Trust me; I can keep it a secret.” “Thanks so much. We should get going. By the way.... Um...” "Yeah?" "You're pretty cool, for a human." Smirking, I said "Not sure if that's a compliment." "Yeah, it is. Let's go." We flew to catch up. By the time we caught up, they were passing Town Hall. A mare that looked like the mayor was sending a brief greeting to them. I found out later her name was Mayor Mare. How fitting. “What was that about?” Twilight asked. “Oh nothing… Just a few questions about Earth. Everything I told you and Sunny earlier.” “Oh okay.” The path to Sweet Apple Acres was a bit longer than it was from Sugarcube Corner, given the length of the roads, it would take a while anyway. It was about 3:40 when we got there. In the distance we could see Applejack bucking the trees as she went along; Applebloom pulling the baskets to and from the barn. “Well, we’re here, let’s go.” Twilight said. A/N: From here on, Sweet Apple Acres will be SAA unless spoken by a character and Sugarcube corner SCC unless spoken. The next chapter will be out soon enough; I’ve been swamped with people coming over and what not, so yeah. PS: Longest chapter! :D Chapter 4.3: Sweet Apple Acres (Re-release, see A/N)I re-released this chapter because I threw a little something in during the scene when Dash and Chris are talking to each other after the race. Who knows? Maybe it'll be a 3rd plotline I need to follow! “Come on you three, Sweet Apple Acres isn’t too far from here.” Dash said, flying ahead about 50 feet from us. Sweet Apple Acres was about half a mile away. She was calmed down a lot after the woods. “Yeah, yeah. I’m coming, Dash, hold your hor-… Fuck, uh… Keep your saddle on.” I said, flying ahead to catch up. “Still haven’t caught on to the Equestrian vocabulary, have you?” She asked, smirking “No, I haven’t. Deal with it. But I bet I can beat you to Sweet Apple Acres from here.” “A bet, huh? What do you wager?” “One, no, TWO favors, of anything. Can you meet that?” “Hay yeah I can.” She said, Dash wasn’t one to give up on a bet. “Twilight! Can you count from three to one, please? We have a race to Sweet Apple.” “You two…” She said, sighing. “Okay. Three” We flared our wings, “Two,” We leaned forward, ready to go, “One,” We leaned back for that extra momentum, “Go!” We both shot forward, Dash a rainbow trail, me just the usual speed lines behind me. I could tell she easily was holding back. Dash got there about a full three seconds before me, but I could tell my speed was increasing. “Nice… Job… Chris…” Dash said in between pants. Even though she slowed herself down, she still went pretty fast. “You… Owe me two…” “Yeah… I know…” I said, “Don’t… Rub it in…” “Wouldn’t dream of it. Let’s wait for them, huh?” “Yeah. I could use a breather.” As we waited, we talked about what happened in the woods. “So… You mentioned something called My Little Dashie?” she asked, curiosity piqued. “Yeah I did, didn’t I.” I said. This would be more awkward than the cupcakes. Especially since it’s one of the few things that made me cry. “So, are ya gonna tell me?” She asked, leaning in, “Yeah… My Little Dashie is a story written by someone in my world, obviously. This is nothing like Cupcakes, mind you. I’ll give you the most basic rundown I can,” I started, “A guy finds you, in a box, in his city. You’re a little filly, not even with a cutie mark, and he adopts you. He can’t tell anyone. He raises you, teaches you to fly, and helps you accomplish a Sonic Rainboom. Eventually, Celestia and the others come to his house, say you’ve been gone fifteen days, but in our earth it’s been…” “What?” "You got a look on your face. Everything alright?" "Yeah. Just uh... Looking at the trees is all." She said, she still had a look of sadness in her eyes. 'How does he know about this?' She thought "What?" I asked; I could have misheard, but... "I didn't say anything." She looked like she was hiding something. Again. I didn't press the matter. "Right. Like I was saying, it was fifteen days here, but on my earth it was fifteen... Ye- Fuck. I need to see Twilight." "Why?" “The temporal difference. I need to talk to Twilight, now.” I bolted off, as fast as I could. I caught up with Twilight around half way. Her and Celestia were talking about something. “Hahaha! I know! Then Shining Armor says to Cadence…” “Twilight, what’s the time difference here? If it’s what I think it is, I’ve been gone for almost a year in my world.” “I looked it up, it’s one day here for every second at your world.” She said, I could feel a wave of relief wash over me. “Oh thank God for that…” I said, "I almost had a damn heart attack." "Why?" Twilight asked, "I was explaining something to Dash, and I mentioned a time difference. The time difference in what I was explaining was One day here is one year in my world. Also, Sunny, I need to talk to you for a bit after I help Fluttershy... Can you free up some time?" "Of course. Can you tell me the topic now, or is it private information? "I could, but it would be easier when we all can sit and talk interruption fr-" We arrived. “What took you three so long? I was starting to get bored.” Dash said, looking, well, bored. “We were talking about temporal distortion between-“ Twilight started “Bo-ring!” She yelled, “Let’s go.” As we walked up the path to the farmhouse, we saw the literally thousands of apple trees that littered the farmland for miles. How the Apples managed to maintain all this with only two active workers was beyond me. “Well howdy there, you four! What’re ya doin’ down here at Sweet Apple Acres?” Applejack said, coming out from behind a line of trees. “We were in the neighborhood, thought we’d stop by.” I said. I could hear a faint buzzing in the background, but I ignored it. “So what’s up, need any help?” “Actually Ah was jus’ finishin’ up for the day. Gettin’ ready for Pinkie’s party down at the corner.” She said. “Oh okay.” I said, The buzzing was louder… "What the f-" I started “Look ouuuuuuuutttt!” As soon as I turned around, I was met with a scooter, propelled by an orange Pegasus filly with a purple mane, not unlike Dash’s. “Ow... Jesus hell that hurts…” I said, getting up. I checked my limbs and wings, they were all okay. Just a minor headache. “Oh man, I am really sorry, mister. Are you okay?” The filly asked, “Yeah I’m fine, just a light headache. Are you okay?” “Yeah, my scooter took most of the impact. Oh, hi Applejack! Is Applebloom home?” She asked. “Yes she is, Scootaloo, Ah reckon she’s inside the house. Go on in.” “Thanks AJ! Again, I’m really sorry mister.” She took off, her wings buzzing to give her speed, “Who was that?” I asked, genuinely confused. “That’s Applebloom’s friend Scootaloo. They met in school and they have this group dedicated to get their cutie marks, as well as Rarity’s sister Sweetie Belle.” “That’s cool. I had something like that in my old school.” I said. “I take it we’ll be seeing them on their way back?” “It’s quite likely. So I had a few unanswered questions from the library.” “Shoot.” I said. “What’s life like back on Earth? Well, I mean, your earth…” “Well, like I told these two,” I gestured to Celestia and Twilight, “it pretty much sucks, unless you’re rich. We have war, famine, poverty, corrupt governments, and the threat of global thermonuclear warfare.” “Global theemonewclee what now?” Applejack asked. “Global thermonuclear warfare. It’s essentially the world’s most violent countries are developing weapons powerful enough to wipe out the population of the world, is all.” Her jaw dropped. I could see the shock in her eyes. “Yer kiddin’…” “Wish I was, AJ, I wish I was. Well on that note, how’s Big Mac?” “Ah, he’s fine, he just says he feels horrible. He looks fine, but he doesn't say anything*. Granny Smith’s been giving him soup and all that fancy illness stuff.” She said, not wanting to press the ‘Earth’ topic anymore. “That’s good, I think.” “Well, this was a blast, AJ, but we gotta go. We have about 15 minutes before the party, and Sugarcube Corner is kinda far.” Dash said, she was anxious to fly again, I could tell. “Well, I reckon I need to get ready too, Ah’ll see y’all down there, then?” “Yep. See ya! Tell Scootaloo I’ll be fine?” “Will do!” As we walked back through Ponyville, the sun was beginning to set. “Well, my little ponies, I need to go; Luna will need me back soon enough. Twilight, I will hear from you in the friendship reports?” “Of course, Princess.” “Farewell, all of you. And Chris, it was a pleasure to meet you. Twilight, send me a letter when you and Chris can visit to talk.” "Of course." “I should say the same, Princess. It was an honor. I look forward to talking to you.” There was the nanoscopic hint of an edge in my voice. “Goodbye, you three.” She teleported away, no doubt to the library to get her effects. “Well we should go in, Sugarcube Corner is only next door.” Twilight said. “Yep. Looks dark. I so wonder why that is happening…” I said wryly, rolling my eyes. “Heh. Just get in you doofus.” Dash said, nudging me towards the door. “I’m going, I’m going, don’t rush me.” I opened the door. ”SURPRISE!” *- Foreshadowing, perhaps? A/N: I wrote this on vacation in Kentucky, so I could get a feel for the accents. I owe a lot of motivational help to a friend of mine, who was bitching at me to do it by midnight, because the fics I’m following keep updating. YOU HAPPY, DIEGO?? Also, I threw in a little bit more to the MLD reference because I read an unofficial sequel. Next chapter: My super fantastic MS paint skills! Chapter Five: Pranks, Parties, and PainA/N: This is a weaker chapter. My mindset was not into it as I was writing this. Just stick with me, I'll be back in the loop soon enough. “SURPRISE!” When I walked into Sugar Cube Corner, I was greeted by a wave of ponies greeting me. Now, I’m normally pretty lax, but seeing fifty plus ponies you don’t know yelling ‘Surprise!’ at you, you’d jump as well. “Holy Jesus on a jetpack!” I yelled, jumping back, flying four feet in the air, hitting my head on the ceiling. Sugarcube Corner’s ceiling, being painted to look like graham crackers. “Oww…” I muttered, after falling unceremoniously to the floor. “And this is why I hate surprises.” Dash, who had seen the whole ordeal, started cracking up, saying “Wow, Chris, even Twilight didn’t hit her head on the ceiling.” “Shut. Up. Dash.” I said, visibly annoyed. “So were you surprised? Huh? Were you? Were you? Were you?” Pinkie jumped at me and asked, while bouncing like a madmare. “Well, I jumped back, flew up four feet, and smashed my head on some sheetrock. I’m say that I was thoroughly surprised.” “Yay! So would you like a cupcake? It even says ‘Welcome to Ponyville’ on it!” She shoved a chocolate cupcake in my face, with red icing. The resemblance to my color scheme was uncanny. “Sure, why not?” I took the cupcake for her and downed it in a few seconds. Only then did I realize that would be a mistake. “Pinkie?” “Yeah?” she asked, bouncing around, “What did you put in the cupcakes?” “Oh you know, silly filly, some flour, eggs, cocoa, icing, hot sauce, mil—,” She started “Did you just say hot sauce??” I asked, my features becoming more flustered by the second. I have a very low spice resistance. “Of course, silly! Twilight poured a bottle of hot sauce into her punch at her welcome party too!” I looked at her. “Well, I did, but I didn’t know it was hot sauce. I thought it was something else… At least your mane didn’t light on fire.” She said. “Your mane did what now?” “Don’t question Pinkie Pie. You’ll drive yourself crazy.” She said. “I’m not that crazy, girls. I can be though! Just wait’ll I find the Cakes’ coffee machine!” “NO!” Twilight and Dash screamed. It was going to be a long night… ---~Later, At the Party~--- I was sitting down, at a random table. Across and three seats to the right was a cross eyed grey Pegasus with a blonde mane, and with her was a filly that looked like her daughter. “Come on mommy,” Suspicions confirmed, “you promised you’d give me some of the muffin this time!” The filly exclaimed, looking with puppy eyes at the mother, “Okay, Dinky, here you go.” As she was handing the muffin over, it crumbled into crumbs and fell on the floor. “I just don’t know what went wrong!” The mother shouted. “That’s Ditzy Doo, the town’s mailmare.” I heard a voice behind me say, “And that’s her daughter, Dinky. When I turned around, I was face to face with Twilight. “Oh, hey. Enjoying yourself?” I asked, putting my punch glass down, “Take a load off.” I gestured towards the seat next to me. “Thanks,” She started. “Rarity wanted me to give this to you; she had to leave early to work on the suit for Fancypants.” She handed me a box, about the size of a cardboard shirt box. “That’s understandable.” I said, “What is it?” “No idea, she just handed it to me and left.” She said, “Open it up.” Inside was a sage and maroon (Rarity’s question made sense now) scarf. It was made of wool or fleece, I don’t know. All I know was, it was itchy. “Well, put it on.” Twilight urged. “I think you’d look good in a scarf.” “Yeah but I hate accessories…” “Too bad, if you won’t, I will.” She took the scarf out of my hooves and wrapped it around my neck, tying it on the side. “See? I told you. You look fine.” She said, “Easy for you to say, I can’t see myself.” I said, smirking a bit. “Well here.” She pulled up a glass and shined it. “Look now.” She said “Oh wow, you were right,” I said, “I do look good.” “Told you. But did you listen?” “Tch, no. I never was a good listener.” I said, smirking again, “Well that’s what happens when you do. You look good.” “Thanks. At least now my neck won’t freeze outside. It’s gotta be what, in the thirties out there?” “Actually, it’s thirty-seven outside.” “Pardon me, Ms. Literal.” She gave me a smug look. Someone tapped my shoulder. I could see that it was a cyan hoof. I figured it may be Dash. When I looked, I saw Dash. I was right. “Hey can I talk to you for a minute?” “I don’t see why not.” We stepped outside, into the cold. I still had my scarf on. “Uh… You never finished.” She said, looking at me intently “Finished what?” I asked “Telling me about that one story, My Little Dashie.” “Oh yeah, I didn’t, did I?” I said “You want me to finish now, outside, in the snow, where according to Twilight it’s thirty-seven degrees out.” “No, genius, I mean later, when we can talk.” “Oh, well no crap. Can we go back in now?” I asked, I was starting to shiver. “No, one more thing.” She started, “Yeah what’s up?” “Have you ever gone pranking?” ---~A Few Hours Later~--- “Wow, Dashie, you were right! The ponies walking around at night are always the best ones to prank!” Pinkie said, in her balloon, floating next to me and Dash, “Hay yeah I was! And Chris,” She started to me, “Yeah, whassup?” “You still owe me two.” “You’re cashing one in now?” “Nope, both.” “Oh man, this’ll be fun. What do you have in mind?” I asked, becoming wary, “Lightning here is nonlethal, and it makes you glow a bit. For the first one, you’re gonna get struck by a bolt I send at you, and jump in front of…” She started, then looked around. She spotted somepony. “Him.” It was a brown Pegasus with beige hair, and a dumbbell cutie mark. He was walking along silently and alone. He’d be a great target. “Got it. So you said it’s nonlethal, but you never said anything abou-” As soon as I said that, I was struck with a bolt of lightning on my back. It felt like a regular static shock, but magnified about 1,000 times. “Ow! Son of a BITCH that hurts! Why?!” I shouted. “Keep it down, idiot, or he’ll hear you. And you owe me two, well one now, that’s why.” “Yeah yeah, I’m going. Say anything in particular, or…” “Nope, that’s it. You look like a miniature sun, by the way.” I looked at my hoof, and it was true. I was about as bright as a light bulb. “Well, let’s do this.” I flew down, still glowing. I got about ten feet above him. I shut my wings and fell. “Hi there how’s it going?!” I shouted as I landed, making him jump up and fly off somewhere screaming. When I got back up, Dash and Pinkie, as well as myself were cracking up. “That was a riot! You are good at this, Chris.” Dash said, in between laughs, “Now for the second favor. I need you to hit ME with lightning so I can do the same thing.” I stared at her blankly. “How?” I asked, I had never received weather training. “Just buck it like you would to get rid of it, just lightly.” “Alright, here goes.” She flew under the cloud, getting ready. I hit it. BA-KOOM “Thanks. I’ll be back in a jiffy.” She flew off and out of sight. “So Pinkie, how did y-“ A glowing mass appeared not six inches from my face. “Hi there!” “Dear God in heaven!” I fell the twenty feet to the ground, wings locking up. “Why does bad shit always happen to me!” I asked no one in particular. Nothing was broken, thankfully, but I still ached. “Oops! My bad!” Dash and Pinkie started laughing. “C’mon, I’ll help you back to the library.” SUDDENLY, PLACEHOLDER TRANSITION! When we got back, it was about 11 O’Clock. We had been pranking for three hours. Go figure. “Well, I’ll see you later, guys. Ow.” I said, rubbing my legs. “Yeah, see ya, Chris. We need to do this again sometime. C’mon Pinks.” “Coming Dashie! Bye Chris!” A/N: Well I had this coming for a while. My mindset has been videogames videogames videogames, and not really writing. The One-Shot just came to me. You can watch this chapter be written here! It's just typing with music for a bunch of it, and it took one hour, so be prepared for a long video. And cursing. Quick update. As much as I hate to, Imma need to put the story on hiatus. I will continue it, just.... not now....This'll also free up more time to work on other ideas I have Sorry if I upset anyone, but... I just lost interest in the story for now. I will continue it. Final updateOkay, everyone. I know I said I'd finish this eventually, but I lied. I cannot finish this at all. I want to get into a more original idea than an HiE.I wrote out the endings about two months ago, and I'll post them here. Keep in mind they are about as good as the chapters were in say... Mid August. One is sappy as fuck, I know. Bare with me. These were directly copied from notepad. ENDING ONE: LEAVING "Well... I guess this is goodbye." I said, looking back at the six ponie- my six friends and marefriend, "Yeah, I guess so." Dash said, next to Pinkie. I was glad that I could make the two of them work out. "Do... Do you really have to go?" Twilight asked, crying, she was hurting more than I was, and I knew it. "Yeah, Twi... I'm so sorry, but I do. You know that I have no choice. My family, friends and school all need me back." "Yes, but-" "Ssh. Don't say anything, my little pony," I said, bringing her into one last kiss, "Just know this, and remember it. I love you." "I love you too. I'll miss you." We kissed one last time. In the purple glow of her horn and a white mist, I was gone. "Goodbye.... Chris..." "Twilight, I'm so sorry..." Fluttershy said, hugging her. "Thank you. I- I need some time..." "Poor girl," Applejack said, "We should leave 'er be." "Good idea, AJ. C'mon Pinks, let's go..." Dash said. They all left. ~--EARTH--~ I returned home, and saw that the time was the same as I left. I understood what Twilight meant when she said she'd take care of it. I took a breath and exhaled it. "Well I guess that's that. I know it wasn't a dream, I've still got the scar on my arm." My straight face was quivering into a frown; I was about to start crying. My pride would not let that happen, though, so I just sat there, silently crying... That's better than openly crying, I suppose... Through the end, I realized something. It's not about what you do that makes who you are, it's who you meet and what your life gives you. In all cases, Twilight, Dash, Pinkie and I all learned something. If you want to be with somepony you love, just go and say it. Don't hold back. Thinking about my time in Equestria, I realize that this really was a Time to Remember. THE END A/N: I wrote everything after "Well, I guess this is goodbye..." right before the SugarCube Corner chapter, in a Best Western Hotel, during a thunderstorm, 500 miles away from my house. I hope you liked the fic, and if you want, I can write a sequel. I'm already pitching ideas around. Let me know, and keep reading everypony. It's been a blast. Well, I thought I had both endings saved, but I ended up deleting one. I would have stayed, sent a note home, yada yada. The usual. But regardless, thanks to everyone who favorited, and I'm sorry I could not pull this one out. I promise I'll give a 'Life' chapter tonight. UPDATES CHAPTER (Check this a lot)6/22/12 (Between writing chapters 3 and 4) I will be using this map (Below) as my version of Ponyville. I found other maps, but this is the most sensible one. 6/25/12 I am about 100 words into the next chapter. I'll be in Kentucky the week of the 15th, so for that week nothing. I'll try and have it up by then. 6/29/12 I'm a bit delayed on writing, because the new Skyrim DLC just released. (I mean really? A shout that kills a person, takes their soul into a soul gem, then reanimates them? FUCK YES. and crossbows. CROSSBOWS.) I'm 303 words into chapter 4.2. Kage No Brony' idea, mixed with my own adds to the chapter, but I haven't implemented it. I still need to do that. That'll get me at least 300 more. 7/4/12 Happy 4th, fellow Americans! To the foreign fans, thanks for sticking with it. This last chapter was released a bit off schedule, and Dash goes a tad out of character. Then again, when you're told that, it's not surprising. 7/13/13 The picture of the main character was a BITCH to edit. You'd all better be happy with it when you see it again. 7/26/12 Quick oneshot because why not? Watching the sunrise gave me this idea. Pic related.
Chapter One: MeetingHi. END OF CHAPTER ONE
Chapter Two: Arrival"Are you ready to go?" Twilight asks, her horn glowing a shade of lavender as she readies her magic to take us to Equestria, "Yeah, I think I have everything I need," I reply "and even if I did forget something, 's not like it would matter. END OF CHAPTER TWO
Chapter Three: IntroductionsAccording to Twilight, I had slept for 3 hours.
Chapter 4.2: Riverside Revelations/Carousel BoutiqueA/N: The dialogue between Chris and Dash adds a bit of a side story. :D
Chapter 4.3: Sweet Apple Acres (Re-release, see A/N)I re-released this chapter because I threw a little something in during the scene when Dash and Chris are talking to each other after the race.
