I'm dying in the rain
Her hoofs trotted up and down the dark badge pavement. The orange coat had already turned into a dark red and the mane was drooping down to the floor. She walked as she felt the beat of the rocks made her scooter jump every few seconds. Her wet wings laid numb on her back. Her violet eyes closed as she felt the rain fall into eyelashes.
Her bruises burned as sparkles of the clear liquid dropped onto it. Such a peaceful moment was not to be wasted. Not a single second. Scootaloo smiled. Rainy days were her favorite. Every pony is inside while no one is out. Perfection.
She wished Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom were there. But they had avoided her ever since Diamond Tiara had told a lie about her by telling everyone she had robbed the Ponyville Bank.
Scootaloo had protested with her friends, but Diamond Tiara had planted a framework on her. She even showed how there was "money" in her tree house near sweet apple acres. All of it had been true. Someone robbed the bank, hid it near sweet apple acres, and wanted it to become rich (obviously). Though, there was one piece of the puzzle that was certainly wrong. Who did it.
Everyone knew that Scootaloo was poor and really wanted a better life. Why other way to do it than rob a bank? Then again, no one knew where Scootaloo actually was during the crime scene. Everyone except her. But she was doing scooter tricks in the Everfree forest. She had wanted to impress her friend, Dinky.
Dinky knew that, except she didn't know about much gossip around the school. Scootaloo would've told her, but she didn't want more burden on her shoulders since she had been trying to find out who her father is. The Orange filly smiled. She had one friend with her. A good friend.
Scootaloo glanced at the schoolhouse as she walked home. It was a damp place, the lights were off. But someone was in there. Who was it? Diamond Tiara. She had been the one who had been stealing the teacher's weekly payment. The orange mare would have wanted to tell the authorities, but it would be for no good reason. She was already considered a very high suspect of bank theft.
Her hooves dragged it's way into Scootaloo's house. They were a bit muddy and quite swollen.
Oh yes, no one knows why she has the bad mess on her, but everyone has a good explanation of what happened. After all, a young mare who has been considered a criminal always gets the worst part of the cake, or in this case, kicks.
Diamond Tiara sashayed her way to the school yard. Her little slave, Silver spoon, was following her every move. They both gave a sly grin and attached a snicker to add to their little prissy faces. Scootaloo and her friends were waiting for the pink muzzle of Diamond to blab about something useless.
"Attention, Attention!!" Diamond exclaimed. Her eyes were a hint of green and red with envy and hatred. What had she planned this time?
"I have news that scootaloo-"
Uh-oh
"Robbed a bank!" She declared. The accused mare gasped, her eyes falling out of her face. What kind of stupid claim is that? Everyone in the crowd gasped in horror. Some ponies were shocked, and some were sad. Either way, it was not good. Apple bloom walked right up to the pink mare and snorted.
"You ain't right! Scoot would never do that," She cried. Diamonds eyes furrowed. "Oh really?" What had that filly got in mind? You probably had one guess, dramatic revenge. Or at least that's what ponies think.
"Why don't we go to that old ugly looking clubhouse of yours and see what we have in store?" She asked. Her lips rolled off the words she had said. Silver spoon's ears ringed happiness, and perhaps the bad type. Sweetie Belle flicked her tail in front of the two bullies. "Prove it," she pondered smoothly.
"Oh, we will,"
All the ponies had gathered around the big tree house. There were little wooden heart carved on the doors and windows. The afternoon sun hit a gorgeous ray on the flaming roof. Every pony gazed in awe of how lovely the small house looked. It was all nice and tidy, beautiful and clean. This was all you could describe and more.
"So, miss prissy? Where'd our theft money been?" Apple bloom started.
Scootaloo hadn't been paying attention much to the conversation. Where did that voice come from?
Scootaloo! Look behind the bushes to see something very bad-
Something so wrong that will make you mad.
Look through those bushes and find out thee-
The terrifying envy that waited for plenty.
"IT'S OVER HERE!!" screeched a pony from behind. Everyone circled that same bush, the one where that voice said to look.
"She's right, 'Ah can't believe she's right," Applebloom whimpered. There were no words to describe it. There was a sack full of money that belonged to the bank. Green, ugly, yuck. Diamond tiara snickered. "That scootaloo just turned into a scoota-thief! What did I tell you?" Her laughs echoed around the money.
"But I-"
"What now? You already went far enough to steal. Are you saying you didn't do it? There's a heck of a lot of proof right here!!"
That's right, proof. You need evidence to prove the guilty, and you need a guilty to take the proof.
Diamond Tiara shoved the orange mare. "YOU, DESERVE, TO, DIE!" She screamed as she stomped on her hooves. Scootaloo stood, finding out that she had been punched in the eye. Her stomps, pushes, and punches ached.
"AAH!" Scootaloo screamed as Silver stabbed her with a stick. It was pain, not just any pain. It was the pain you feel when you are being dragged to the center of the earth.
Scootaloo looked up to the clouds. Her voice croaked out some words, then a voice, then a song.
I'm dying in the rain-
Feelin all the pain.
I look down at the stars,
as my eyes wash away.
The music and thunder, flies down in my brain-
and I don't need to feel,
the death in the rain.
The death in the rain..
There goes another star
"Really!? I'm in? OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!"
"Yeah rainbow, you have exceeded your training with marks off the chart,"Spitfire said firmly, her eyes were barely being shown, for her sunglasses were in the way. Rainbow dash zoomed across the wonderbolt office, knocking everything in sight. A huge smile had spread on her face.
"HEY! DON'T TURN THIS PLACE INTO THE NEXT ZOMBIE ACROPOLIS!!" The yellow coach yelled. Rainbow stopped right away and landed on the ground like a light feather. Her smooth hooves touched the ground lightly and gripped onto the floor. Her ecstatic rainbow mane caught the light wind from outside and bent down, touching blue skin.
"You will have to be staying in the wonderbolts camp permanently, of course, you will have a basic social life like everyone else and eat as much as you want in that fast food near McMarolds. Everythhing understood?"
"Yes, Spitfire!" The pegusus claimed, she bowed to the floor, keeping her rump tilted upwards and her head below. Spitfire lay on her chair, feeling the brisk air from her windowsill and trailing the smell of hot dogs. "Now go away. I haven't got my Z's since last night."
"But it's 2 in the afterno-"
"Shut up!!!"
"Right, I'll leave, umm, yeah..."
Rainbow Dash gave a small grin and took off. It wasn't an easy day, but it was worth all the studying. At least, it would be worth it.
Twilight rummaged back and forth through her bookshelf, leaving a soft touch to her books as she slid by. Her face frowned a little. Her tail swung to the empty music and leaped off the tall ladder. Quickly glancing here and there, she caught sight of what she needed. "Section W, part 1, by Stratus Storm... Aha!"
Her face covered in dust, she pranced over to the hardcover book. Her hoof swiped through the dust and uncovered a Title. "Wonderbolts, The basics. Here it is Scootaloo!"
The orange Pegasus trotted in a steady pace. She examined the cover and back. "Yup, it's the one. Thanks Princess," She quietly said. Twilight's spine shuddered. Her eyes gave a look of annoyance. "Is there something wrong?" Scootaloo questioned, her eyes were big with curiosity. Twilight gave a slight shake.
"No... It's just that princess thing. Get's really annoying.. You know?"
"Sure,"
Twilight suddenly looked disoriented. Her wings were fluffed up a bit and she started trembling. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words had rang to her mind as to what to say. Scrunching her nose, she scratched her mane so that she could deliberate the awkward silence. Scootaloo gave a mad look on her face.
"I'm fifteen, Twi. Tell me what's the problem."she commanded,as if wanting to smack the confusing look off the princess's face.
"I -uh... Your body. It's a bit... out of shape," She stuttered. She would've just blurted all her secrets out at that she never intended to speak, but this time, no letters of secrecy fell out of her muzzle. "You know you could go to the nurse if you want. I'm fine with taking you the-"
"Nah, I'm good."
Scootaloo brushed her scratches and little drops of blood that were uncovered. Her coat hid most of the problem, except for her face. In a distance, you could see the darkness of her eyes. It wasn't bright and purple anymore. Depth of courage was shown and small amount of pain was let out.
"You really worry me, scoot... Are you sure I can't at least take you over to Zecora's? You know her, she has the cure for anything!" Twilight pondered. Her concern was very kind, but scootaloo decided to give a small mumbling no. The purple alicorn had none to speak of anymore.
"Very, well." She sighed. Her wings took off, she had to meet her friends for lunch today and she was getting late. She left the orange mare with spike just in case anything was needed.
Twilight's hooves touched the ground frailly, she didn't want to end up like a cascading waterfall and bump her flank to the ground with a slight thud. "I'm here guys! So? what's the latest?" She panted. Flying was harder than she imagined, but she'll get used to it.
"Howdy there sugar cube. Dash was just 'bout to tell us some important news! Right Rainbow?" The farmer mare happily joyed.
"Yeah! I-"
"YOU GOT A COLTFRIEND!?" Rarity gasped. her face was beaming with delight. She and fluttershy were always the romantic type. Except Rarity herself, was a bit.. well, extreme.
Rainbow Dash slapped her hoof on her face. She grumbled a little to add expression to what she was thinking. "No, Rarity. I was going to say that I got in!"
Everyone showed a confused look.
"In what exactly sugar?" Apple Jack asked, rubbing her forehead to remember what was it. Apples? Nah, Rainbows? Nope it could be Manicures.. No, that's Rarity. Darn!
"I got into the Wonderbolts guys! THE ONE AND ONLY!!THE WONDERBOLTS!" She shouted hilariously. She hit the restaurant table really hard, causing water to spill. But she didn't care. There was a sparkle in her eyes that meant she was daydreaming. She made a fishy face and was drooling on her hay burger.
"The wonderbolts? Wow Dashie! That is totally cool! Especially when you're going to be off training and teaching Scoots and going back, and going out, and back, and out, and back!" Pinkie cheered. Her legs and hooves were tied while doing the motion of goin back and forth. Her poofy pink hair bounced around happily.
Rainbow scrunched her nose, "I will what now?"
Pinkie giggled a little. She didn't realize that no one understood what she was saying, because half of the time, no one really does. "Silly! Remember a couple days ago when you told scootaloo at sugarcube corners that you were going to start training her tomorrow?" She said, talking in a fast pace.
"Well.. I kind of overheard you guys talking while I was getting your milkshake and I was like *GASP* and then I decided to listen more and then I followed Dashie and was really excited Cause in that same day you said that you were going to get your results for the wonderbolts exam tomorrow and tomorrow meant today, and then I was like *GASP* and then I decided to peak through Spitfire's window pretending I was a hotdog seller, which by the way were awesome hotdogs, and yeah!" she smiled. That toothy grin was enough to make Rainbow Dash frown. A lot.
"You were WHAT!?" She shouted. Ponies around her were staring at her. The embarrassed mare sat down quietly, Blushing in front of the others. Pinkie didn't seem to notice. "Well duh! How was I supposed to know you forgot silly?" She laughed. She snorted in a cute way. Then, she noticed everyone around her.
Oopsie?
"Thanks Spike! See you later!" The orange mare sighed.
She slammed the door and smelled the fresh air. It was so nice and beautiful. The dandelions flew to the horizon. Then, when suddenly the love was appearing, it started to fade away. Something wasn't right. Nothing was right.
She turned around to a sight that was... Horrifying.
Her two, old friends were stumbling towards her. They're eyes were falling apart and her unicorn friend fell.
"Oh my god," Scootaloo whispered.
She rushed over to her companions and held Sweetie Belle in her arms. "W-what happened?" She cried, murmuring her words. Scootaloo's throat dried. She touched the helpless filly's chest.
Nothing.
"HELP! SOME PONY!! HELP ME!"
