The smell of fresh green grass and flowers wafted through the air as a gentle breeze blew across the hills. The sun was shining brightly on this warm summer’s afternoon and a certain blue hedgehog found himself running through the hills at the speed of sound. Just another average day for Sonic the Hedgehog.
The blue blur was keeping good pace with a grin on his face before hearing the roar of a familiar plane.
“Hey Sonic!” Tails yelled from the cockpit.
Sonic slowed down to match the speed of the Tornado and waved. “Yo Tails! How’s it going?” he yelled back.
Tails piloted the plane closer to his friend. “Hop on! I’ve got something to show you!” he instructed, motioning for the blue hedgehog to jump on.
Sonic nodded before leaping onto a rock formation to gain some air and jumping onto the plane’s roof.
Tails immediately steered the Tornado up into the sky at full speed, then turning around towards an urban area and landing the plane on a small runway before getting out and leading Sonic into the city. “C’mon!”
After a few minutes, the two had arrived in a large open park.
Sonic’s eyes were closed. “Tails, are we there yet?” he asked, getting impatient.
Tails nodded, looking behind him and winking. “Yeah! Open your eyes!” he instructed.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIC!!”
Sonic found himself facing not only his friends but perhaps the entire city! Crowds of people lined the streets, drove by, or watched from the balconies of their apartments to celebrate the 25th birthday of their planet’s cool and blue hero! The blue hedgehog jumped back in surprise, caught off guard by the extra guests. “Aw, thanks everyone!” he said.
It was at that instant that the party began. Chili dogs were handed out to the guests, everyone mingled and talked, had cake, and overall had a great time.
That was until Tails’ handheld began to go crazy.
Tails pulled it out and turned it on to find the screen flashing red, accompanied by many readings and charts. “…Dang…this doesn’t look good,” he said to himself.
Sonic walked over, munching on a chilidog. “What’s up Tails?” he asked, still chewing.
Tails frowned. “This might sound crazy but I think our dimension is on a collision course with another…”
Sonic swallowed. “That does sound crazy…Wait…that actually sounds bad!”
“IT IS BAD! I don’t know how but this dimension was thrown off and now we’re gonna collide with another dimension! It won’t be anything life threatening but we most likely are gonna notice some differences…” he explained.
Knuckles and Amy suddenly made their way out of the crowd and ran over. “What’s this I hear about another dimension and a collision? Is it gonna be the end of us?” the pink hedgehog asked.
Tails shook his head. “It’s nothing serious but we may see some differences like changes in gravity, altered space and time, weird physics, and other stuff like that!” he explained.
Knuckles raised an eyebrow. “How do you know that? Maybe your fancy little iPad has some glitches or something,” he guessed.
Just as Knux finished the ground suddenly began to shake and the sky became dark and stormy!
Sonic looked at the red echidna as if to say “You were saying?”
Crowds of people began to panic, running and looking for shelter in buildings, leaving only Sonic and his gang out in the open.
Silver looked up at the sky in shock before turning to Tails. “H-How soon can we expect to hit the other dimension?!” he questioned.
The sky suddenly flared in a blinding white light!
“NOW!!!”
