Fear the dark
Prologue
Load Full StorySweetie sat on the floor of her room staring at a bottle between her and her two best friends in all of equestria. sweetie smiled as Applebloom spun the bottle and watched it spin. Sweetie hadn't been able to sleep in some time without having her sister nearby to watch over her. Rarity was currently working a new line of dresses that needed her undivided attention. Without Rarity Sweetie decided that having slumber parties would keep her safe until Rarity was done. But something was wrong tonight. The room she was in was heavy with a gloom that hung over her and her friends like a thick fog. The bottle that applebloom spun was still spinning and began to speed up even more.
"Uhh why isn't it stopping?" Scootaloo asks staring at it curiously.
"I don't know but.....should I stop it?" Applebloom asks just as the bottle stops dead and points at sweetie bell. Sweetie's eyes widen and she chuckles nervously.
"Let's do something else girls." She reaches to take the bottle but it flys across the room and shatters on the opposite wall. Sweetie gasps and looks at her friends. They look at her questioningly.
"Sweetie, what's going on? You've had us over almost every night this week. And every night something like this happens. So spill it." Scootaloo stands up and applebloom follows.
"Yeah, you know you can tell us anything right?" Applebloom smiles as she walks to the door and flips on the light switch. Outside the sun was almost out of sight and faint slivers of light filtered through the blinds. Even with the light on the room had a dark and depressing feeling in it.
"Well.....lately weird things have been happening to me like that." She nods to the bottle." And with Rarity working on her dresses 24/7 I thought maybe having sleep overs might calm things down......but it's only made things worse." Sweetie frowns.
"What do you mean by weird things?" Applebloom asks.
"I-I can't say." She shivers as the room seems to get colder.
"Sweetie just tell us. What harm could it do?" Applebloom puts a good on her friends shoulder.
"Why is it so cold in here?!" Scootlaoo shivers as her breath rises." I'll be right back. I'm going to go turn on the heater." Scootaloo stands up and walks to the door to Sweeties room. But as she reaches to open it the door slams shut with a loud bang. Scootaloo try's to open the door but finds it locked.
"Someone locked the door!" She grunts as she yanks on the door knob.
"Sweetie what's goin on?!" Applebloom asks.
Sweetie stares at the door and backs into the corner of her room."It's back!" She shudders and curls up in a ball.
"What's here?" Applebloom asks not noticing the closest door behind her slowly creak open.
"Sweetie!" Scootaloo says." Why does your door lock from the outside?! Do you have a key or something?" She asks pushing against the door.
"Check her drawer." Applebloom turns to walk to Sweetie's dresser but she suddenly falls as if she was tripped." What the AHHHHHHHH!" Applebloom screams as she dragged to the closet door. she manages to brace herself against the wall so she isn't dragged into the closet.
"Applebloom!" Scootaloo runs to help her friend while Sweetie stays cowering in the corner of the room. Sweetie bell cowers and peeks out of her ball to see Apple bloom fighting to push herself away from the closet while Scootaloo attempts to close the door which was stuck.
"Sweetie bell help!" Apple bloom screams to her as Scootaloo pushes the door closed. Apple bloom relaxes and stands up. She marches over to sweetie and pushes her." Why didn't you help me?" she says glaring at the still cowering sweetie.
"I-It said it would leave me alone if I let it take you instead of me." she whimpers not looking up.
"What did sweetie?" Scootaloo kneels down concerned for her friend.
Sweetie looks up and freezes, staring at the wall above her closet.
"Sweetie?" Apple bloom pokes her as she begins shaking.
"What's wrong sweetie?" Scootaloo asks.
Sweetie stares, petrified but slowly lifts her hoof to point at the wall above the closet door. The two girls turn and find themselves frozen in place at what they see. A grey skinned bipedal creature with fierce red eyes and glimmering fangs hovered over the door with its hands and feet placed on the wall. As the girls opened their mouths to let out a scream the creature gave them a twisted, jagged smile. the closet door flew open again and this time both Apple bloom and Scootaloo are dragged across the floor and into the dark space. The creature crawls down the wall and crawls on all fours towards sweetie bell. It spoke in a raspy, demonic voice.
" This deal won't last forever." It says staring at her with its blood red eyes.
"But you'll keep all the monsters away including you?" she says trying not to look at it.
"for a time.....but when your time is up." It moves forward to whisper in her ear making sweetie cringe as she smelled its putrid breath." I'm coming back for you." The beast chuckled before retreating back to the closet where it turned into a black mist and slipped under the door. The room was suddenly filled with the bloodcurdling screams of apple bloom and Scootaloo. Sweetie sobbed and hid under her blankets.
"I'm sorry!" she screams as their screams grow more intense." I just couldn't take anymore! I'm sorry!"
The rest of the night are filled with the bloodcurdling screams of the two, helpless fillies. The next morning, after several ponies report the screams police investigate and find the two terrified fillies in a closet upstairs. According to reports from the officers they were unhurt but showed signs of witnessing something truly horrific. The girls are admitted to a mental hospital and are released two years later. Not much was gotten out of the third filly though she seemed alright, the officers reported she muttered things like, "I'm free." and " I couldn't take anymore.". Eight years later Sweetie has lived her days out of contact with her once good friends and now as she approaches her eighteenth birthday she remembers the deal and its promise to comeback for her. So she waited and dreaded her coming of age, for fear of the demon with which she made deal with costing her her best friends.
